Welcome Fall

Stampin’ Up! Gathered Plaid Autumn Greetings Card

Happy happy HAWWWMP DAY!!!  I hope you’re all safe – so many of my SU! friends are in harm’s way in one way or another these days – be it from wildfires or the slowest moving tropical storm ever (serious – that one’s moving slower than I do on the treadmill on even my laziest day!)!  2020 can just…go the heck away already! 🙁   Y’all take the best of care.

Now.  Today’s card is so….me.  It’s got plaid.  It’s got leaves.  It’s got a cat!  Yep – I brought the Cat Punch in to play with Gathered Leaves and the Autumn Greetings Bundle – and put the whole shootin’ match on top of some gorgeous Fall Plaid Tidings DSP.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from this week’s TGIF Sketch Challenge – although I flipped it upside down!  Let’s…just pretend I meant to do that, okay? 😉

And – the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge let me let my FALL collage freak LOOSE!  I mean – it was like they made this board FOR ME!!  I went up the middle diagonal AND down the right column!

I started with a piece of the Plaid Tidings DSP that I cut to 3 3/4″ x 5″ then cut at 1 7/8″ on the short side.  I left one piece long and cut the other at about 2″.

I matted the three panels on a Basic Black mat.  In order to make all the borders look “right” I used my Paper Trimmer to take a smidge off the panels.  Yes – “smidge”.  Don’t ask me how much that is! 😉

I used the Gathered Leaves Die set to cut leaves in Bumble Bee, Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie.  Before cutting them, I spritzed the card stock with water using my Stampin’ Spritzer.  Note:  Cajun Craze isn’t one of the colors listed for the Plaid Tidings – but… I like how it works with this DSP.  So…use the recommendations but…if there’s a color that appeals to you…use it! 🙂

I pulled out the Autumn Essentials Dies – bundled with the Autumn Greetings stamp set – and cut a few Cinnamon Cider grasses.  I also cut a couple of solid Pumpkin Pie pumpkins and some detailed Cinnamon Cider pumpkins – which I adhered together with Liquid Glue.

I cut a Basic Black cat with the Cat Punch.

For the sentiment, I stamped one from Autumn Greetings in Cinnamon Cider on Very Vanilla.  How gorgeous is that font??  I cut it with a Stitched Rectangle Die.  Note:  Cheat the sentiment to the left side of the die cut when you make your card.

Then I put all the pieces and parts onto the card front to create the collage.  When I had everything how I wanted it – I took two pictures.  One with everything in place and one with the “top” layers off so I could see.

I adhered everything with Liquid Glue – until I got to the very last pumpkin on the sentiment.  THAT one is popped on with a Stampin’ Dimensional!

I added some Pumpkin Pie gems to the sentiment and the card front and the card was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment and some pumpkins from Autumn Greetings in Cinnamon Cider ink on a Very Vanilla panel.  I colored the pumpkins with my Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends Combo and Light Shaded Spruce Blend.  On these I colored the stem with my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker – then added the “ground” with the Cinnamon Cider Marker.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Cinnamon Cider card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Autumn Greetings pumpkin on the front.  This one got a Cinnamon Cider stem – which do you like better??  This one or the Early Espresso stems on the inside?

…and I added more of the Plaid Tidings DSP on the envelope flap.  Note to self:  order more Plaid Tidings DSP SOON!!

Et Voila!  No – really.  This card has so many of my favorite things – I considered a double-loop Linen Thread bow but you know me…I do NOT like to be over-the-top on these things! 😉

The Autumn Essentials Bundle is gorgeous – the sentiment fonts are beautiful and the die cuts amazing!  And that doesn’t even speak to the huge, wunnermus floral image!!

Add the Gathered Leaves and perfectly perfect Plaid Tidings DSP and…winner winner!

I hope you like!

If you’d like to re-create this card, the card cuts and product list is down below!

Stampin’ Up! Gilded Autumn Greetings for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a color challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

Our challenge today has five colors and we had to pick at least three.  I sorta over-achieved.  Pretty sure I hit all five with my Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP providing the backdrop to the wunnermus Autumn Greetings bundle.  Take a look-see:

And…here’re the colors we had to select from!

I borrowed inspiration from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week, too!

I started with a piece of Crumb Cake paper from the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP and cut the right side of the panel using one of the two edge dies in the Autumn Essentials Dies (bundled with Autumn Greetings!).

Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the big floral image from Autumn Greetings in Early Espresso ink.  Then I cut the middle out with a rectangle Stitched So Sweetly Die.

I matted the full panel on Cajun Craze with Liquid Glue then popped the die cut piece back in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the dies in the Autumn Essentials, I cut some wheat from gold Brushed Metallic and Early Espresso card stocks.  I also cut a couple of small detail pumpkins and one large from Very Vanilla – and the matching solid pumpkins from a piece of Mint Macaron Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP.

I adhered the wheat die cuts to the card front with Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered the detailed pumpkins to the solid ones and added them to the card front as well!

I tied a Linen Thread double-loop bow and adhered it to the pumpkins with a Glue Dot.

On a strip of Very Vanilla, I stamped the Autumn Greetings sentiment in Cajun Craze.  Using the Banners Pick a Punch, I cut banner ends.  Then I adhered the strip to the card front, over the bow, using double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.  And that was it for the card front!

For the inside, I cut a Crumb Cake panel with the Autumn Essentials edge die.  Then I used my Stamparatus to add a second Autumn Greetings sentiment in Cajun Craze.   I finished it off with the leaves and small pumpkin in Early Espresso.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Cajun Craze mat and into my Mint Macaron card base, adhered the card front with Liquid Glue and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more leaves and the pumpkin in Early Espresso on the front…

…and more of the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The big and bold Autumn Greetings floral image is gorgeous – even NOT colored!  And the bundled Autumn Essentials includes such wonderful pumpkin-building dies and grasses – on top of cutting out the big floral!  It’s definitely a gotta-have-it bundle!!

And the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP is just stunning with its touches of gold foiling!

I hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! August Paper Pumpkin and a Super Fall Add-on Bundle!

Happy Friday, y’all – my LAST before becoming a straight-up Retiree!  Today will be my official “eat-some-food-now-get-the-heck-outta-the-office-and-let-us-go-back-to-keeping-the-world-safe-for-Democracy” lunch and then?  Done-ski!

I’m trying to be excited.  I really am.  I admit, though, I feel like a part of me is being sawed off today!  Like…maybe…my electronic leash?

Do you know that for the past…almost TWENTY!!….years, I’ve carried two phones with me?  Yep.  My personal phone and my work phone.  Wonder how long it’ll take me to stop thinking…uh-oh, forgot the work phone?  I took my work phone to Washington and the cruise last year.  Which is wrong on so many levels.

That phone has spent a very significant part of those twenty years right next to me on the bedside table at night.  I can wake from a dead sleep at 2 in the morning and answer questions and change schedules and put out fires.  And have!  More times than I can count.

Not sure how that would translate to a resume (should I ever need one!) but…I’m sort of counting on NOT needing such a thing!  Fingers crossed, y’all!

Now – what I want to ACTUALLY talk about today is Paper Pumpkin!  Cuz the August kit is looking to be awesome – all Fall-themed and getting us ready for cooler days to come – AND it has an amazing ADD-ON that subscribers can pick up!  Read on!

What’s the old saying? Variety is the spice of life? At Paper Pumpkin, we like to mix things up and keep your crafting experience fresh and fun. We plan each kit carefully, letting you let your creativity soar while still keeping our projects simple!   With this in mind, we’re bringing an elegant fall gift packaging kit to Paper Pumpkin fans this August.

Now, it’s no secret that our subscribers love cardmaking. So when we offer treat or gift packaging, you generally like to make a few card alternates with the kit. That’s why THIS month we decided to bring you the best of both worlds with the Gift of Fall Add-On Bundle. This coordinating product will allow you to turn your Gift of Fall gift packaging into cards in an easy and inexpensive way.

Take a second and watch Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Development Manager, Natalie White, give you a sneak peek into the August Gift Of Fall Kit!

Now – here’s some deets about Gift of Fall:

  • Makes 6 fall-themed gift bags
  • Makes 12 fall-themed gift tags
  • Coordinating colors: Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry, Merry Merlot, Mint Macaron, Old Olive, Pretty Peacock, and Soft Suede

Sounds pretty cool, huh?  I’m anxious to get mine – and I know you are, too.

And then there’s the Gift Of Fall Add On Bundle

If you are NOT an ACTIVE Paper Pumpkin Subscriber…

You can sign up for a subscription where you’re billed monthly for your kit – click here to get started.

Or you can…do a Prepaid Subscription!  To see the options for prepaid subscriptions in my online store, click here.

So – here’s the thing.  You MUST be an ACTIVE Paper Pumpkin Subscriber by 10 August to get this kit!!  If you subscribe AFTER 10 August – you are going to get the September kit!  Make sense? 🙂

Okay – one last thing and then I’ll let you get to your weekend!

– and would like a refill – we’ve got you covered!  Get yours right here!

Yeah!

Alrighty, then!  Be sure you’re signed up and active before 10 Aug rolls around and get busy crafting and getting ready for Fall!

Finn Fan Fix

Poor Finny.

First there was the unfortunate encointer with the Pampered Chef Microwave bowl.

It’s bad enough when YOU are sick or hurt, but…when it’s your child….

Or – Mr. Reindeer!

Folks – it was a messy scene, indeed.  There were Reindeer “guts” strewn all over.

It was gruesome. 🙁

The call went out at once….”Dr. Wayne..paging Dr. Wayne to the Sewing Room.  Code Stuffing.  Dr. Wayne to the Sewing Room, Code Stuffing”.

Dr. Wayne responded alertly.

And the Dad waited anxiously for word.

He waited as patiently as he could…paw raised and at the ready to lend a helping…well…

…but, alas.  Exploratory Surgery was required.

Dr. Wayne took Mr. Reindeer directly to the operating room.

Finn paced.

It was a long 2 minutes for him, I’m sure, poor baby.

Dr. Wayne is MIRACLE worker!

He SAVED Mr. Reindeer!

Sadly – the long-term prognosis is a little…not-so-long, we fear.  Mr. Reindeer is really starting to show his age (aren’t we all?) and…may not be up for the rigors of being Finn’s Favorite Toy. 🙁

Only time will tell – and, for now, he’s playing as comfortably as can be expected. 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Merry Cafe Pumpkin Latte – and an Anniversary!

Happy Monday, y’all!  Another week – and a one-day weekend are in the books!

If you were able to join me last night on my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me.  And, if not, if you want to take a gander at the replay – here’s a link to it on YouTube!

I pulled out the Merry Cafe stamp set – which is in the 2017 Holiday Catalog – and the Coffee Cups Framelits (which is in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog and is bundled with the Coffee Cafe stamp set) and used it to create a Fall card featuring pumpkins! As in….Pumpkin Spice Lattes!  Take a look-see:

I used the sketch challenge from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge to help me with the layout.

And I also played along with the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge.  I went across the top row and down the middle column! 😉

I made the card front from a piece of the Coffee Break DSP (which is one of the papers available as part of the DSP sale going on until the end of October!), Fast Fusing it to an Early Espresso mat.

Next up, I cut a strip of Gold Foil and used the cute little branch die in the Eclectic Layers Thinlits to emboss the image onto the Foil.  Cool, huh?

I used some Liquid Glue to adhere the embossed Gold Foil to the card front.  Over that is a piece of Wood Textures DSP, Fast Fuse’d to an Early Espresso mat and then onto the card front.

For the middle “window”, I used a square Stitched Shapes Framelits die to cut a square of Whisper White and then adhered it with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the coffee cup image from the Merry Cafe stamp set in Early Espresso on Whisper White and cut it out with it’s die from the Coffee Cups Framelits.  I colored it with the two Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends pens.  I also stamped a lid in Early Espresso, cut it out with its matching die and adhered it to the cup with Liquid Glue.

For the Merry Cafe sentiment, I inked Hello Fall in Early Espresso and the rest of the sentiment in Pumpkin Pie and stamped it on a scrap of Whisper White.  Then I cut it with the matching die, edged it with my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Pen and adhered it to the cup.  Then I popped the whole thing on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used a Stampin’ Dimensional and some Liquid Glue to adhere a length of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon.  Then I pulled out my Pick a Pumpkin stamp set and stamped the pumpkin in Pumpkin Pie on Whisper White.  I fussy cut it – versus using the die in Patterned Pumpkins, cuz I didn’t want a white edge.  Then I stuck it onto the burlap ribbon with Liquid Glue.  I tied a bow from one length of Linen Thread and two of Gold Metallic Thread and adhered it with a dab of Liquid Glue.

I cut a Gold Glimmer Paper swirl using the die in the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits – I cut from the back of the Glimmer Paper to turn the “steam” around (check it out in the video) then adhered it with Liquid Glue.

Finally, I stamped the leaf image from Merry Cafe in Garden Green on Whisper White, filled it in with my Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Marker and fussy cut them both.  I adhered them to the card with Liquid Glue and added a Pumpkin Pie Enamel Shape to the middle.  And the card front was done!

On the inside, I added another pumpkin from the Pick a Pumpkin stamp set, and more of the leaves from Merry Cafe.  I even gave them a Pumpkin Pie Enamel Shape.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to an Early Espresso mat and into my Garden Green card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a repeat of the Pick a Pumpkin and Merry Cafe images on the front…

…and more of the Coffee Break DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love a good Pumpkin Spice Latte – it’s one of those Good Things in the Fall.  Of course, these days, when every single calorie counts (grrrrrrrr), my lattes are best served in card stock and ink!  So the Merry Cafe stamp set – especially paired with the Coffee Cups Framelits! – does me quite well!  Hope you like!

Be sure to check out the DSPs for sale this month (buy-three-from-the-list-and-get-one-from-the-list-free….BTFTLGOFTLF??  🙂 ) – and grab this pretty paper plus the Be Merry DSP from the other day (you can see that one right here) and even the Painted Autumn DSP (check out a card using it here)!  It’s a super time to get stocked up!

Finn-Fan Fix  Anniversary Special!!

So…on this day, one year ago – Finn came into our lives as a 5 month old fur-baby and made his first appearance on my blog.  You can check out his “arrival” post here.

Remember when he was that little?!?  That’s a picture I took of him as we were bringing him home! 🙂  I’ve taken a lot – a LOT – more pictures of him since then.

I just went back and looked at some of those posts from October 2016 – he made me smile and chuckle all over again.

What a good day that was!!

Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Painted Harvest

Happy Hawwmp Day, everyone!  Hope your week is going well!  Mine is…going!  And it went in such a way that I had to eat a peanut butter pumpkin.  But I only had one.  And I was able to keep from eating any donuts.  Again.

Just sayin’.

My card today is the result of…”oh, you’ve got to be kidding me.  I didn’t bring Cherry Cobbler card stock?!?”.  I say that because I was half way done with the card and went to pull out said Cherry Cobbler card stock to cut my mats.  Why?  Cuz I was playing with the TGIF Challenge which is a color challenge using…Cherry Cobbler.  And, I’d already stamped my Seasonal Lantern sentiment and Painted Harvest flower using Cherry Cobbler.

So – I decided to substitute Cajun Craze (right after I put in an emergency, 2-day shipping order for Cherry Cobbler and Crushed Curry card stock.  Yea.  Forgot that, too).  But I decided that the stamping didn’t look bad – even with the disconnect between the two colors.  So I went for it! Take a look-see:

I was using the sketch challenge at CAS(E) This Sketch to help me with the layout.

And the color scheme is, as I mentioned, from the TGIF Color Challenge.

So – let’s all squint our eyes and pretend that the mats on this card are Cherry Cobbler.

I tried!

I started with a Crumb Cake panel and, using the fern-y leaf image in the Painted Harvest stamp set, stamped it all over in Crumb Cake ink for a tone-on-tone effect.  Then I laid a strip of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon across it – adhering it with a little Liquid Glue.

I stamped the sentiment from the Seasonal Lantern stamp set above the burlap ribbon, in Cherry Cobbler ink.

Next up, I stamped the larger Painted Harvest flower image in Crushed Curry on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I stamped it three times, inking and rotating the image a little bit with each stamp.  Then I used the inside image and stamped it a couple of times in Cherry Cobbler – again rotating it between the stamps.  I used Crumb Cake and stamped the flower inside image twice.

Say it with me…rotating the stamp a bit each time! 🙂

Then I fussy cut the flower.

I adhered a Delicate White Doily to the side of the panel with Liquid Glue then used my Stampin’ Trimmer to cut off the excess.  Over that, I used a Foil Snowflake.

I smushed the vanilla side of the snowflake into my Versamark pad and then sprinkled it with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Then I heated it up!  I adhered it over the doily and trimmed its excess, too.

And here’s where I discovered the lack of Cherry Cobbler card stock.  So – I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Cajun Craze mat.  Then I wrapped a length of Jute Twine around it, securing it in the back with scotch tape.

I cut a pine bough in Crumb Cake, using the die in the Pretty Pines Thinlits.  Then I cut a second one from a piece of yellow Painted Autumn DSP.  Finally, using the die in the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits, I cut the leaf/berry shape.  These two pieces I smooshed lightly into my Crushed Curry ink pad to make them a little more curry-ish.

Then I build the collage with Liquid Glue.  For the flower, I put a few Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back and used them to wind some Linen Thread looks around – then I popped it over the other elements.

I used my Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write Marker to add some “seeds” to the middle of the flower and then tied a bow from Jute Twine and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  And that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I repeated the Painted Harvest flower in Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake in the corner of a Whisper White panel.  Then I added a few Crumb Cake leaves and Cajun Craze seeds.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Cajun Craze mat and into my Thick Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Painted Harvest flower and leaves on the front…

…and I added a whole slew of Crumb Cake leaves on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I think it turned out okay.  I don’t even think the two colors actually clash all that much.  And, it’s hard to go wrong with Painted Harvest elements, don’t you think?  Hope you like! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Feeling of Christmas Seasonal Lantern

Mornin’, y’all!  I’m writing this on Monday evening from the hotel in Huntsville!  It’s been a long day.  Got up at 4, drove to Huntsville, did an hour and half briefing for the boss, then waited a significant portion of the rest of the day for the IT folks to load a printer driver on my work computer.

Got back to the hotel and took a short nap.  When I booted the computer…it wouldn’t log me in.  Guess how many folks were around at 5:15?

Yea.

Got it resolved – finally – but it took driving back into the office and meeting the on-call IT tech to get it done.  Then had to work for a while to prep for the meeting tomorrow.

So – starting this blog late.  Which means I’m going to shut up now and get after it! 🙂

I used the pretty wreath in the Feeling of Christmas stamp set to make…a Fall-themed card.  Hmmm.  I borrowed a sentiment from the Seasonal Lantern and….take a look-see:

I played along with the fun Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for this one – straight across the diagonal!

It’s hard to tell in the photos, but I did two kinds of embossing on this one.

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock and dry embossed it in the Petal Burst TIEF, then matted it (DE-bossed side up) on a Cajun Craze panel for the card front.

I wrapped a piece of Crushed Curry 3/8″ Mini Chevron Ribbon vertically around the panel, securing it in the back with scotch tape.

On the middle art panel of Whisper White, I stamped the “fill-in” wreath image from Feeling of Christmas in Crushed Curry.  Then I took the leaves-wreath image and inked it with Versamark and then Cajun Craze ink and stamped that over the top.  I quickly sprinkled the image with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated it up!

I colored the leaves with my Old Olive and Always Artichoke Stampin’ Write Markers and the little berries with the Cajun Craze Marker.  Then I added clusters of Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze Enamel Shapes – berries!  I popped the art work over the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

My sentiment, from Seasonal Lantern, is stamped in Crushed Curry on a strip of Whisper White, bannerized with my snips.  I edged the banner with Crushed Curry – flicking it with a sponge  Then I popped it over the wreath with more Dimensionals.

I stamped the image again in Cajun Craze on Whisper White and colored just the ribbon/bow in Crushed Curry and So Saffron, then fussy cut it.  I used a stylus to roll it a bit for some depth, then used teensy pieces of Stampin’ Dimensional to pop it over the stamped bow.  And that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I added some Cajun Craze sprays of leaves in the corners of a Whisper White panel and colored them with my Markers again like I’d done with the wreath.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Cajun Craze mat and into my Crushed Curry card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a reprise of the Feeling of Christmas sprays on the front…

…and then I embossed just the envelope flap in the Petal Burst TIEF.  Kinda hard to see….

Et Voila!  Just cuz the name of the stamp set says “Christmas” doesn’t mean it HAS to be used for that!  Which makes this Feeling of Christmas a really fun – and beautiful! – stamp set!  I actually think it’s one of our prettiest wreaths!!  Hope you like!

Finn-Fan Fix

Quick FFF!

We went over to Scout’s house on Sunday for dinner.  Afterwards, we sat out under the trees and let the two kids play.  And play.

And.

Play.

My friends have chickens.  Scout has a sort of clue about herding them.

Finn believes she’s wrong – he feels herding happens best from the front.

Shhh – let’s not tell him who’s really wrong in this case, okay?

Regardless – he thinks chickens are kind of fun.

And weird looking.

They appear to think the same about him.

Stare off….

Stampin’ Up! Count My Blessings CAS Acorns

Mornin’, y’all!  It’s Friday.  Finally.  It’s been a heckuva week.  I know there are still folks in FL and TX for whom Friday or Tuesday makes no never mind – and I’m awfully sorry for that.  You have my continued prayers for better days – and power!! – ahead!

My card today is a quick and easy one – that’s also clean-and-simple.  It uses the Count My Blessings stamp set and a few other little goodies to help out.  Take a look-see:

This one played with a couple of challenges.  The first is from Stamp Ink Paper and was the impetus for the clean-and-simple Fall theme.

And the second, from the Sugar Pea Designs Mix It Up Challenge, gave me my layout.

I started out with a piece of leaf-strewn paper from the Painted Autumn DSP and covered it with a piece of Vellum card stock in the same card-front size.  I used Fine-Tip Glue to adhere the Vellum – being sure to only put the glue under the middle portion of the Vellum in order to keep the glue from showing through.  Then I Fast Fuse’d the panel on a Cajun Craze mat.

The sentiment, from Count My Blessings, is heat embossed in Copper Embossing Powder on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  That piece of card stock is slightly smaller than the next layer – which is another square of Very Vanilla.  I used my Circles Layering Frameltis die to cut a circle from this square – then I embossed the panel in the Layered Leaves Dynamic TIEF.  With the de-bossed side up, I popped the square over the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the same size circle die and the next larger scalloped circle die, I cut a Copper Foil frame and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

On a scrap of Very Vanilla, I stamped the Count My Blessings acorn image in Versamark Ink, sprinkled it with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated it up.  Using my Blender Pens and Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Old Olive ink pads, I colored the acorns and leaves.  Then I fussy cut the image and adhered it with Liquid Glue (and a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional under the leaf) to the panel.

I repeated the Copper embossed image on another panel of Very Vanilla card stock, colored just the acorns, and fussy cut them.  I lightly rolled the acorns around a pen to give them some dimension – and then popped them over the first image with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  To finish it off, I tied a small bow with two lengths of Linen Thread and two lengths of Copper Metallic Thread, and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

On the inside, I used the Count My Blessings acorn image again.  I inked it with Crumb Cake, stamped it off once on scrap paper, and stamped it in the middle of a Very Vanilla panel.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Cajun Craze mat and into my Thick Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

The front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another stamped-off-once Crumb Cake acorn from Count My Blessings…

…and then I added more of the Painted Autumn DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love how this acorn from Count My Blessings looks embossed in Copper and fussy cut.  Especially against the simple embossed panel and Copper sentiment.  Hope you like!

Finn-Fan Fix

We’re an America’s Got Talent household.

We don’t have any particular telent – oh, no.

We like to watch the show.

Don’t judge.

Last night, while we were watching, a dog act came on the screen.

Finn, who was, at the time, allowing me to hold his chew bone while he chewed it….stopped.  Looked over his shoulder with his lips caught in his teeth.

Then he raced over to the tv.

And watched….

aaaannnnndddd….watched…..

“wonder what the judges think…..”

Finally just gave up and sat down to watch in comfort.

I was laughing so hard (behind my hand and trying to hold it in so as to not offend…) that I was absolutely in tears!

Funny little kid.

Stampin’ Up! Gourd Goodness for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a full roster playing with today’s sketch challenge, so be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

Here’s our fun little sketch…

I decided to go vintage-y and Fall-y with the Gourd Goodness stamp set – and a little sentiment from the Merry Cafe set.  Take a look-see:

This layout also works with the challenge over at the Global Design Project this week.

Screen Shot 2017-09-14 at 07.07.05

I started with a Very Vanilla panel and stamped the Marbled Background image on it in Crumb Cake ink.  Then I used the die from the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits to cut the tiny holes across the top and bottom of the panel.  Using the detailed leaf image in Gourd Goodness, I stamped the image in Versamark across the panel, sprinkled it with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed the leaves.  Then I sponged the panel with Crumb Cake ink – darker on the edges, but getting the whole panel.  Once I was happy with it, I used Fast Fuse and Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Old Olive mat.

For my art work, I used the two step pumpkin image from Gourd Goodness, on Very Vanilla.  I stamped the first image in Peekaboo Peach and the second in stamped-off-once Pumpkin Pie.  I cut the image out with an Ovals Layering Framelits die, then tore and sponged the edges in Crumb Cake.

I pulled out the Merry Cafe stamp set and inked just the words Hello Fall in Versamark and stamped it on the oval, sprinkled it with Copper Emboss powder and heated it up.  I liked that so much that I rolled the edges of the torn oval across the Versamark pad and heat embossed that edge in Copper, too.

With a bunch of Glue Dots on the back, I wound Linen Thread in several loops behind the oval then popped it on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Needing some pumpkin stems, I stamped a long one and a short one in Old Olive on Very Vanilla (these are two-step stamps, too) and gave them a quick fussy cut.  Then I added them with a dab of Liquid Glue.

I added a length of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon and a short piece of 1/4″ Copper Trim (that I’d pulled apart into a net) across the art oval with some Liquid Glue.  Then I tied a bow with more Copper Trim – also pulled into a net – and added it with a Glue Dot.  And that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I cut the strip across the top and bottom of a Very Vanilla panel with the die from the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits.  Then I added the detailed leaf image from Gourd Goodness up the side of the panel in Crumb Cake and sponged the whole panel in Crumb Cake.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to an Old Olive mat and into my Pumpkin Pie card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

The Front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more of the Gourd Goodness leaves and some sponging in Crumb Cake…

…and I masked off the envelope flap with sticky notes and stamped the Marbled background in Crumb Cake, and added more Good Goodness leaves and some sponging.

Et Voila!  I like how the Gourd Goodness pumpkins pop against the subdued Crumb Cake tones on the rest of the card.  And those images are so life-like, don’t you think?  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Spooky Cat Halloween Moon

Happy Friday, y’all.  If you’re in Harvey’s aftermath or bracing for Irma – my thoughts and prayers are with you.  My friends in Florida…stay safe!

My card today is simple and fast.

My day yesterday was complicated and long – so simple and fast was the order of the day.

I’ve seen some cards out and about using the new Cat Punch in the same way I’ve used it today.  I thought it was so cool and had been wanting to make my own version.  So – this seemed like the day to do it.  I added a few pieces and parts from the bundled Spooky Cat stamp set.  Take a look-see:

Buckle up, buttercup – this is going to go quick!

I started with a Crushed Curry card stock circle cut with the largest die in the Circles Layering Framelits.  Then I punched the cat silhouette with the Cat Punch.

Using my sponge dauber, I added a little bit of shadowing on my moon with Crushed Curry ink.

I used Stampin’ Dimensionals (Mini and Regular) to pop the moon over a Basic Black panel.

I matted the card front on a Crushed Curry mat with Fast Fuse, then wrapped some Crushed Curry Solid Baker’s Twine around the panel 3 times, securing it in the back with scotch tape.

I used a Glue Dot under the three strands near the left side of the card to draw them together (like they’d been tied together).  Over that, I added a bow tied from three strands of the Baker’s Twine.

The sentiment, from Spooky Cat, is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a Crushed Curry strip.  I snipped banner ends and then popped it on the card front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Simple doesn’t have to mean no bling at all – so I added a single gold star Metallic Enamel Shape to the corner.  And that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I used the negative space of my moon circle as a stencil and sponged a “moon” in Crushed Curry on a Whisper White panel.  Over that, I added the fun cat image from Spooky Cat.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Crushed Curry mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another sponged moon on the front – along with some cat eyes from Spooky Cat in Tuxedo Black…

…and I added more cat faces to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I fell in love with this technique the minute I saw it – so it was just a matter of time before I used it on a card of my own.  And I kinda love it!! Spooky Cat and the awesome new Cat Punch…Winner winner!  I hope you like.

Finn-Fan Fix

I’m just going to share a cute picture of the man.

From soon after he came to live with us, he’s liked getting under my chair.

Recently he’s started really GETTING UNDER my chair – and adopted the “leg hug”.

I have no clue.
