Stampin’ Up! Dino Days for A Good Man for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all – welcome to another edition of Amy’s Inkin’ Krew team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is Celebrate Summer!  We can interpret that any way we want – so…be sure to check and see everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!

I decided to go to the beach.  With dinosaurs.

No – no dinosaurs.  Just the DinoRAUR Suite.  And then I added a little Come Sail Away DSP and a couple of goodies from the A Good Man set.  Take a look-see:

I started with a piece of Come Sail Away DSP and matted it on Crumb Cake for the card front.  Then I used SNAIL and some Glue Dots to adhere a length of new 3/8″ Denim Ribbon.

On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the image from A Good Man in Crumb Cake to start my beach-y scene.

I stamped the image again – on a sticky note this time – and roughly fussy cut it to make a mask.  Then I stamped it AGAIN – on some Balmy Blue striped Come Sail Away DSP.  I fussy cut just the shirt from that one.

I laid the sticky note mask over the stamped image and then stamped the palm trunks from Dino Days in Crumb Cake twice – when I lifted up the mask, the trees were “behind” the lounging man! 🙂

I colored my lounger-guy with my Light Balmy Blue (hat), Light Night of Navy (shorts); Ivory (skin) and Crumb Cake (“sand” and lounge chair) Stampin’ Blends.  Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the fussy cut “shirt”.

I added some Mossy Meadow leaves from Dino Days.  I matted the panel on Crumb Cake and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On another piece of Whisper White I stamped 5 more leaves and cut them with the Dino Dies.  I lightly curled each leaf and used Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere them to the top of the trees.

I stamped the A Good Man sentiment in Mossy Meadow on Whisper White and cut it with the Classic Label Punch.  Then I edged it with my Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Marker and popped it onto the card front with Dimensionals.  A new Designer Element in the middle of the palm tree leaves finished off the card front.

On the inside, I added some Crumb Cake and Mossy Meadow Dino Days palm trees to a Whisper White panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Crumb Cake mat and into my Mossy Meadow card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Dino Days palms on the front…

…and a little more Come Sail Away DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Now – seriously.  Does that NOT look like a totally wonderful way to pass a summer day!?!  And – aren’t you glad there are no Dino Days pterodactyls flying by??!  I bet our lounging dude from A Good Man sure is!  I hope you like!

Now that you’ve seen my card, I hope you’ll take a little time to jump thru all the other projects we have to share. Click any name below, or you can use the Previous Blog button to jump to Julie’s page or the Next Blog button to see what Akiko’s been up to!

Stampin’ Up! A Summer Bike Ride for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop!

Good mornin’, y’all – welcome to another edition of Amy’s Inkin’ Knew team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month is Celebrate Summer!!  We were given free rein to interpret that any way we liked….so, be sure to check out all the ladies’ blogs.  I know you’re going to see some awesome projects!

Being down here in Florida for this one, my mind sort of went to bike rides on the beach.  And, handily enough, we have a brand new stamp set and bundle that just’s the thing!  I used the Bike Ride stamp set and bundled Build A Bike Framelits for my offering today – take a look-see:

My layout and design elements were inspired by the sketch and photo from this week’s Fusion challenge.

I started with one of my very favorite wood designs in the Wood Textures DSP Stack – matting it on a piece of So Saffron card stock – for the card front.

Next up, I made two more – smaller – panels to work with the sketch (you can see I turned the sketch on its side), both are matted on So Saffron.  First, I adhered a length of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon to the card front with Liquid Glue.  Then I SNAILd the first panel (which is another piece of Wood Textures DSP) over the top.

To build my “beach sign” I used a piece of Smoky Slate card stock and adhered four strips of colored card stock to it.  I used Tempting Turquoise, Flirty Flamingo, Bermuda Bay and Calypso Coral – and I lightly sponged their edges with Crumb Cake.  I adhered them all to the Smoky Slate panel and then ran the whole thing thru my Big Shot in the Pinewood Planks TIEF.

Then I stamped a sentiment from the Pieces & Patterns stamp set in Calypso Coral on the top “board”.  Upon further reflection – it would have been a little easier to stamp my sentiment and THEN emboss it in the TIEF.  But this way worked, too – although I did have to do a little touch up with my Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Marker. 😉  I adhered it to its So Saffron mat and added it to the card front with Fast Fuse.

And then it was Build a Bike (framelit) time!  I stamped the parts of the bike on Whisper White, using a bunch of the fun images in the Bike Ride stamp set.  The bike is in So Saffron, with Smoky Slate and Bermuda Bay tires.  I cut the front basket from a piece of Smoky Slate card stock.  The dog, books and flowers bunches were all stamped in Chocolate Chip and then colored with various Stampin’ Write Markers (So Saffron, Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight).  I even cut some So Saffron “streamers” and adhered them to the handlebars!

I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the bike on top of my “beach sign” – then added the books and pooch with Dimensionals and the two flower bunches with Liquid Glue and Dimensionals.  The final touch is a tiny Linen Thread bow, adhered with a dab of Liquid Glue.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I added another flower bunch from the Bike Ride stamp set in Chocolate Chip – and colored it in with Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo Markers – to a Whisper White panel.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a So Saffron mat and into my Chocolate Chip card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Bike Ride flower bunch on the front…

…and I added some more Wood Textures DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I think a bike ride on the beach – with my books, some flowers and my dog (pretend it’s Finn!)  – would be a nice way to spend a summer day.  Except for the lack of air conditioning! 😉  So…I’ll get my beach ride fix with the cool new Bike Ride stamp set and Build a Bike Framelits!  Hope you like!

Scroll on down for the card cuts and all the products you’ll need to make this one for yourself!
