Stampin’ Up! Painted Harvest Pumpkin Cat!

Happy Friday, y’all – when you read this, I’ll probably be on my way back to Utah.

Or not.  My jet lag has jet lag – I have no idea what time it’ll be anywhere I’m at today, so…you know what I mean!  When next you hear from me, it’ll be from Utah!

My card today uses an all-time favorite, the Painted Harvest stamp set, and I played with the Eclipse technique.  A couple of die cuts from the Patterned Pumpkin set and a few Cat Punches lent a hand.  Take a look-see:

I started with a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and, using the two-step flower image from Painted Harvest, stamped several flowers all across the panel.  I used three colors for the petals – Crushed Curry, Peekaboo Peach and Pumpkin Pie.  There wasn’t a lot of rhyme or reason behind the color combinations – I just played with the colors.

It’s not like there are any rules – just mix these three colors – two per flower.  Stamp each image a couple three times – rotating the image a little for each stamp. And you’ll be a flower-making rock star!!  Promise!

For the middles, I used Early Espresso – and stamped the large middle twice per flower, rotating with each stamp.  And then I added some little dots – also in Early Espresso – to each flower.

I used the Cat Punch and cut him from the bottom of the panel – and added some eyes in Early Espresso from the Spooky Cat stamp set.  Then I cut four more of him from Early Espresso and stacked them all together with Liquid Glue.

Next, I ran the panel thru the Big Shot with the large pumpkin die from the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits laid on the panel – and slightly overlapping the cut-out cat.  I made sure to keep track of the cut out-middle pieces.

Then I cut three more of the pumpkins from Early Espresso – and stacked them all up with Liquid Glue.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to an Early Espresso and Peekaboo Peach mat and used more Liquid Glue to adhere the stacked pumpkin back into its negative space.  Then I added the single-layer of the cut-out pieces back where they went in the die cut.  To finish it off, I added the stacked cat back in as well.  He sits a little higher than the pumpkin (due to having 4 additional layers versus the three under the pumpkin), giving the impression he’s sitting in front of the pumpkin! 🙂

I enlisted the help of the Gourd Goodness stamp set for the sentiment, stamping it on a strip of Peekaboo Peach card stock in Soft Suede.  I snipped banners in both ends, edged it with my Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker, and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Finally, I tied a bow with two strands each of Crushed Curry and Basic Black Solid Baker’s Twines and adhered it over a Billie Moan Bow made with Linen Thread, using a Glue Dot.  I added it to the card front and it was done!

On the inside, I made three more Painted Harvest flowers across the bottom of a Very Vanilla panel – again from Crushed Curry, Peekaboo Peach and Pumpkin Pie.  I added the centers with the Early Espresso.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to an Early Espresso and Peekaboo Peach mat and into my Crushed Curry card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Painted Harvest flower on the front…

…and a few more on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love it!  Painted Harvest never fails to impress!!  And I love how it looks like the cat – when you can even see him!! – is sitting in a pumpkin patch, surrounded by beautiful flowers.  Hope you like!!

Stampin’ Up! Gourd Goodness and Pumpkin Leaves for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop!

Good mornin’, y’all – welcome to another edition of Amy’s Inkin’ Krew team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month is Giving Thanks!  We can interpret that any way we want – so…be sure to check and see everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!

I decided to go straight up Fall festival with my card, using the Gourd Goodness stamp set and…a few goodies from my October Paper Pumpkin!  Take a look-see:

I started with a piece of Painted Autumn DSP, that I Fast Fuse’d to a Cajun Craze mat for the card front.  I wrapped a long length of Linen Thread around the card front three times, securing it in the back with scotch tape.  Then I used a Glue Dot to pull the three strands together – right about under the bow on the card.

Next, I raided the leftover pieces of my October Paper Pumpkin kit and adhered two pretty Gold leaves to the card front.  Don’t have this kit?  You can cut some leaves from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits from Gold Foil and adhere them with some Liquid Glue. 🙂

Using the two-step pumpkin image in the Gourd Goodness stamp set – I stamped the first image in Peekaboo Peach on Very Vanilla.  Over the top, I stamped the second image in Pumpkin Pie.  The stems – also two-step – are stamped in Garden Green ink.  Then I fussy cut them.

I also cut a Cajun Craze pumpkin from the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits – and adhered it to another piece of Painted Autumn DSP with Liquid Glue.  Then I fussy cut that, too.

I built up my collage with the Patterned Pumpkin pumpkin adhered with Liquid Glue, popped the Gourd Goodness pumpkins on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then nestled a couple more leaves from the Paper Pumpkin kit in with Liquid Glue.  The final touch is a little Corrugated Elements heart!

My sentiment, from Gourd Goodness, is stamped in Cajun Craze on Very Vanilla and then punched with the Pretty Label Punch.  I used my Peekaboo Peach Stampin’ Write Marker to add faux stitches and then adhered it with Liquid Glue and a Stampin’ Dimensional.

I made a Linen Thread multi-loop bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Over the center, I stuck a small Gold Faceted Gem and the card front was done!

On the inside, I simply added another of the Paper Pumpkin gold leaves to a Very Vanilla panel.  I would love to be able to buy sheets of these beautiful leaves (hello, Stampin’ Up!?).

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Cajun Craze mat and into my Peekaboo Peach card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another gold leaf on the front…

…and another bit of Painted Autumn DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Fall-on-a card….the perfect ode to plenty and thankfulness!  All from the Gourd Goodness stamp set, a Patterned Pumpkin die cut and a little bit of Paper Pumpkin parts!  Hope you like!

Scroll on down for the card cuts and all the products you’ll need to make this one for yourself!

Stampin’ Up! Gourd Goodness for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a full roster playing with today’s sketch challenge, so be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

Here’s our fun little sketch…

I decided to go vintage-y and Fall-y with the Gourd Goodness stamp set – and a little sentiment from the Merry Cafe set.  Take a look-see:

This layout also works with the challenge over at the Global Design Project this week.

Screen Shot 2017-09-14 at 07.07.05

I started with a Very Vanilla panel and stamped the Marbled Background image on it in Crumb Cake ink.  Then I used the die from the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits to cut the tiny holes across the top and bottom of the panel.  Using the detailed leaf image in Gourd Goodness, I stamped the image in Versamark across the panel, sprinkled it with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed the leaves.  Then I sponged the panel with Crumb Cake ink – darker on the edges, but getting the whole panel.  Once I was happy with it, I used Fast Fuse and Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Old Olive mat.

For my art work, I used the two step pumpkin image from Gourd Goodness, on Very Vanilla.  I stamped the first image in Peekaboo Peach and the second in stamped-off-once Pumpkin Pie.  I cut the image out with an Ovals Layering Framelits die, then tore and sponged the edges in Crumb Cake.

I pulled out the Merry Cafe stamp set and inked just the words Hello Fall in Versamark and stamped it on the oval, sprinkled it with Copper Emboss powder and heated it up.  I liked that so much that I rolled the edges of the torn oval across the Versamark pad and heat embossed that edge in Copper, too.

With a bunch of Glue Dots on the back, I wound Linen Thread in several loops behind the oval then popped it on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Needing some pumpkin stems, I stamped a long one and a short one in Old Olive on Very Vanilla (these are two-step stamps, too) and gave them a quick fussy cut.  Then I added them with a dab of Liquid Glue.

I added a length of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon and a short piece of 1/4″ Copper Trim (that I’d pulled apart into a net) across the art oval with some Liquid Glue.  Then I tied a bow with more Copper Trim – also pulled into a net – and added it with a Glue Dot.  And that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I cut the strip across the top and bottom of a Very Vanilla panel with the die from the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits.  Then I added the detailed leaf image from Gourd Goodness up the side of the panel in Crumb Cake and sponged the whole panel in Crumb Cake.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to an Old Olive mat and into my Pumpkin Pie card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

The Front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more of the Gourd Goodness leaves and some sponging in Crumb Cake…

…and I masked off the envelope flap with sticky notes and stamped the Marbled background in Crumb Cake, and added more Good Goodness leaves and some sponging.

Et Voila!  I like how the Gourd Goodness pumpkins pop against the subdued Crumb Cake tones on the rest of the card.  And those images are so life-like, don’t you think?  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Pick A Pumpkin Labels to Love Sneak Peek

Happy Friday, y’all!  Hope your week went well and that you’re fixin’ to have a great weekend.  Big deal happening on Monday – anyone make special travel plans to witness it?  We’re pretty close to the path – it crosses the north end of GA.  So, I suspect it’ll get dark here.

I just hope the aliens are more like ET and less like the dudes in Independence Day.

Just sayin’!

My card for today took some inspiration from a sample in the 2017 Holiday catalog and is a sneak peek of a fun little set called Pick a Pumpkin.  It’s bundled with a really cool set called the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits dies.  I used a sentiment from the Labels to Love stamp set (also in the new catty).  Take a look-see:

Pick a Pumpkin Labels to Love - Stamps-N-Lingers 4

The rather unusual layout is a result of this week’s sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

Screen Shot 2017-08-17 at 17.35.00

And I also played along with the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge.  I went down the right side.  And across the bottom (with “Pumpkin” as the “free” space!) – I’m an over-achiever!

Screen Shot 2017-08-17 at 17.34.00

I started out with a panel of Crushed Curry and embossed it in the Layered Petals Dynamic TIEF.  Hint:  When you emboss your card stock, start with a panel a little bigger than you actually need.  Perhaps you’ve noticed card stock seems to shrink when you dry-emboss it?  It’s cuz you’re smooshing up the fibers.  So – emboss it and then trim it down to size.

You’re welcome.

I Fast Fuse’d that to a Cajun Craze mat.

Pick a Pumpkin Labels to Love - Stamps-N-Lingers 3

For my angled art work, I started with a piece of Danson 90lb Cold-Pressed Watercolor Paper – about the size of a regular A2 card front.  Using my Aqua Painter, I did a quick wash in Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie, picking up the ink from the lid of my ink pads.

I cut the panel down to size – sort of arbitrarily picking my angles and using my Stampin’ Trimmer.  I laid it over a piece of Cajun Craze, and cut it down as well.  Then I Fast Fuse’d the watercolor paper to the mat.

Pick a Pumpkin Labels to Love - Stamps-N-Lingers 1

I used the splatter image in the Timeless Textures stamp set to add Pumpkin Pie splatters all over the panel.  And then I got busy!

Using the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits, I cut a large pumpkin from Peekaboo Peach card stock, several leaves and tendrils in Vellum card stock, a couple in Copper Foil, a tendril in Old Olive card stock, and a few little bits and pieces that come out of one of the pumpkin dies.

I also stamped one pumpkin from the Pick a Pumpkin stamp set in Pumpkin Pie ink on Very Vanilla and cut it with the matching die.  An Old Olive branch of leaves seemed like a grand idea, too!

Version 2

I stamped a couple of leaves images from Pick a Pumpkin in Early Espresso directly on the watercolor panel.  To start my collage, I stuck a Glue Dot to the panel and adhered several loops of Copper Metallic Thread.  Then I started building the remainder of the elements with Liquid Glue.  As you can see, I also added a few wooden Touches of Nature Elements.  I added the stamped pumpkin with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

Pick a Pumpkin Labels to Love - Stamps-N-Lingers 2

The sentiment is from the Labels to Love stamp set.  I colored just the words of the sentiment with my Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write Marker and stamped it on Very Vanilla.  Then I cut it out with a die from the Patterned Pumpkin Thinlits.  I edged it with my Pumpkin Pie Marker and popped it on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I cut the star-filled pumpkin die from Patterned Pumpkins from the corner of a Very Vanilla panel and edged it with my Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write Marker.  I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Cajun Craze mat and then added the pumpkin back in with a little Liquid Glue.

Pick a Pumpkin Labels to Love - Stamps-N-Lingers 5

I Fast Fuse’d the panel into my Thick Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

On the front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, I stamped a smaller Pick a Pumpkin pumpkin in Cajun Craze – then covered it with a sticky note mask and stamped the larger pumpkin in Pumpkin Pie…

Pick a Pumpkin Labels to Love - Stamps-N-Lingers 6

…and I added an appropriate-feeling piece of paper from the Painted Autumn DSP to the envelope flap.

Pick a Pumpkin Labels to Love - Stamps-N-Lingers 7

Et Voila!  While it may not be exactly “clean and fresh-lined” (LOL!) – I really love how the collage turned out.  Hope you like!

The Patterned Pumpkin Thinlits die set is just so cool – chock full of dies just begging to be clustered and collage-i-fied.  I know you’re going to want this bundle, y’all!!

Finn-Fan Fix

Y’all – I have a very smart little dog.  I mean…seriously.

How do I know this?

Cuz…he likes his AC and his fan – just like his mom.

And his mom is smart.

I learned this in Logic Class:

Mom is Smart. (A=C)

Finn is like Mom. (B=A)

Therefore, Finn is Smart. (B=C)

Logic.  Plain and simple.

Check it.

IMG_9446

Over to the right side of the picture is a vent in the cabinet toe-kick.  An Air Conditioning vent.  You can’t see it – but all his little hairs are just a-blowing-in-the-breeze.

He goes out for a little while – then shows up at the back door to come in.  And heads to “his spot” to cool off right quick!

Sometimes his furry hind-end is a little too hot, so he aims it just right…

IMG_9455
And sometimes – across the “aisle” isn’t quite close enough and he has to get close-as-can-be.  To cool off even quicker.

IMG_9456

Like I said.  Smart boy! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Count My Blessings Sneak Peek

Mornin’, y’all!  Hope the week is going well for you – today I got signed up for OnStage in November!  Whoo-hoo!  And Amy and Jari and Julie and Beth are all going, too.  It’s going to be so much fun!!  And it’s in Salt Lake City – where I’ll already be (sort of) for work!  Timing is everything!

So today’s card uses another new stamp set from the 2017 Holiday Catalog.  It’s called Count My Blessings – and has beautiful floral images and two sentiments printed in beautiful fonts.  I used it with some Wood Textures DSP and the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF.  Take a look-see:

Count My Blessings Thinking of You - Stamps-N-Lingers 4

My layout was inspired by the sketch at TGIF Challenges.

Screen Shot 2017-08-15 at 19.31.58

And the color palette is from this week’s Sunday Stamps color challenge.

Screen Shot 2017-08-15 at 19.31.18

I used Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride, and Flirty Flamingo!

I started with a piece of Wood Textures DSP and I stamped it all over with the leaves image from the Count My Blessings stamp set (coming on 1 Sept) in Lemon Lime Twist.  Then I ran the panel thru the Big Shot in the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF and matted it on Daffodil Delight.

Count My Blessings Thinking of You - Stamps-N-Lingers 1

Next up is the ribbon treatment.  I laid down a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive and then added folds of the Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Double Stitched Ribbon.  I used a few Glue Dots to keep some of the more…recalcitrant folds where they belonged!

My art is a piece of Shimmery White card stock.  I heat embossed the flower image from Count My Blessings in Champagne Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

Wait.

What?!?  Champagne Embossing Powder?

Well – sort of.  I took a tip from Shawn de Oliveira and made a one-to-one mix of Gold and Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I think it’s pretty darned close! 🙂

Once they’d cooled, I used my Blender Pens to color the flowers – first in Blushing Bride and then I added shadow accents with Flirty Flamingo.  I used Daffodil Delight for the leaves, then added some touches of Lemon Lime Twist.

Count My Blessings Thinking of You - Stamps-N-Lingers 2

I matted the panel on Daffodil Delight.  For the smaller strip, I cut a piece of Calypso Coral card stock, embossed it in the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF and then adhered it to the back of the art panel.  I added Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhered it on the card front.

The sentiment, from Count My Blessings, is stamped in Calypso Coral on Whisper White.  I edged it with my Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Write Marker and matted it on Daffodil Delight.  Then I added it to the card front, with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals and Liquid Glue.

I added a few Pearl Basic Jewels and the card front was done.

On the inside, I added another “Champagne” heat embossed floral from Count My Blessings to a Shimmery White panel.  And colored it like I’d done the flowers on the front.  I also added a few more Pearl Basic Jewels.

Count My Blessings Thinking of You - Stamps-N-Lingers 5

I Fast Fuse’d the panel on Daffodil Delight and into my Calypso Coral card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a final “Champagne” heat embossed and colored flower from Count My Blessings on the front…

…and more of the Wood Textures DSP on the envelope flap.  I even added more of the Lemon Lime Twist leaves from Count My Blessings.

Et Voila!  I love this little set – and I think it’s one that you may scoot right by in the catalog.  It’s not terribly flashy – but it’s gorgeous.  I mean – look at that font!  Beautiful!  I hope you like – and Count Your Blessings will make its way on to your wish list! 🙂

Finn-Fan Fix

So – remember the dog that wouldn’t eat fish yesterday?

Remember what I said about him and fish?

Well – I watched him sit in the “circle of begging” around Wayne this evening.  It went Katy – Finn – Leo.  All wanting a bite of Salmon.

Which – the last time I checked – is…FISH??

Yes.  Yes it is.

Later – we tossed the fish skins over the fence at the back of the property.  He snuck under and ate them.

Again.  FISH!

Stampin’ Up! Pretty Kitty Cat Punch

Mornin’, y’all!  Making our way thru the week – it’s practically the weekend again!

Not…

For today’s card, I played along with this week’s Global Design Project challenge – which was a CASE The Designer challenge.

Screen Shot 2017-08-14 at 18.54.46

And we even got to pick which designer to CASE.  I selected this card from Shawn de Oliveira.

Screen Shot 2017-08-14 at 18.54.54

I did change it up a little, but I kept many of the same elements.  I’ve been wanting to use the new Cat Punch (coming on 1 Sept!), so I used him over some Painted Autumn DSP.  Take a look-see:

I started with a card base from a piece of Thick Very Vanilla card stock, and I ran just the front of the card thru the Big Shot inside the new Quilt Top TIEF.

Stampin’ Up! Year of Cheer and Snowflake Sentiments

Hey y’all – welcome to Monday!

I’m going to keep this pretty short – Sunday’s sale was successful, fun and…long!  So…since I’m writing this on Sunday night – I need to get off to bed so I can get up and have Monday!

If you were able to join me last night – I appreciate it, and hope I wasn’t too…bumble-dy!  If you didn’t get to watch live, here’s a link to the video on YouTube.  Hope you enjoy it!

What we did last night was make some little note cards – we’ve got new 3″ Square Envelopes in the 2017 Holiday Catalog and Mini Pizza Boxes!  The boys are the perfect size for holding three little note cards and envelopes.  I made the cards with Year of Cheer Specialty DSP and some embellishments.  Take a look-see:

Year of Cheer And Snowflake Sentiments1

They’re all made by simply scoring and folding a 3″ x 6″ piece of new Year of Cheer Specialty DSP at 3″.   Continue reading

Stampin’ Up! Merry Cafe Hello Fall!

Happy weekend, y’all!  Hope you’re ready to do something fun – or at least useful!  Or…maybe you plan to just rest and recuperate…see a movie?

I am ready for Fall.

I want the leaves to turn, I want to need a t-shirt or long-sleeve in the morning.  I want the ponies to start to get fuzzy and the flies to die.

Yes – die.  I’m sorry, but that’s just how I feel about flies.

In short – I’m done with heat and humidity.  Bring on a little chill!

My card today is a loud and strident collage calling for Fall!  I used the Merry Cafe stamp set (new on 1 Sept) – which so handily works with the Coffee Cups Framelits! – and a few leaves from the new Gourd Goodness stamp set.  Take a look-see:

My layout comes from this week’s MFT Card Challenge. Continue reading
