Stampin’ Up! Pansy Patch & Layered Stripes Note Card with Video Tutorial

Good morning and happy Friday, y’all!  I hope you’ve had a good week and have something fun planned for your weekend! 🙂

My card today goes back to a favorite bundle from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog – the Pansy Patch bundle.  And I also used a NEW stamp called Layered Stripes – from the Jan-Apr 2023 Mini!  Put together, they created a spring-y note card good for any occasion.  Take a look-see:

This played along well with The Paper Players theme challenge.

I started by inking the Layered Stripes stamp with Versamark Ink and, using the Stamparatus, I stamped a piece of Basic White cardstock.  Then I sprinkled the wet ink with clear Stampin’ Embossing Powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool.

When the melted powder had cooled, I used my Blending Brush to add a light layer of Pool Party to the cardstock.  Then I cut out a rectangle using a Scalloped Contours die.

Using the Pansy Dies, I cut two large flowers, two single petals, and four of the little edge dies from Orchid Oasis cardstock.

I also cut two of the little “faces” in Starry Sky and two of the flower centers in Mango Melody.

Finally – I cut one of each of the leaves dies in Mossy Meadow and in Old Olive.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the small “edge” dies (those are the ones that I cut four of – see the picture above) to the two large and two single petal die cuts.  I added the Starry Sky “faces” and a Mango Melody flower middle on the large flowers, too.

I also used Liquid Glue to adhere the detailed leaves die cuts to the solid die cuts – mixing the two colors.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere all the elements to the card front to form the “bouquet” of pretty pansies!!

I tied a little bow from some silver Simply Elegant Trim and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

On a strip of Basic White, I stamped the Pansy Patch sentiment in Starry Sky ink.

I cut a narrow strip of Old Olive paper from the Regals 6″ x 6″ DSP (a little longer than the sentiment and with an angled end) and adhered the sentiment to it with Liquid Glue.

Using double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the combined strips over the top of the bow.

I added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels and the card front was done.

For the inside, I stamped the large flower fill image in Orchid Oasis in the corner of a Basic White panel.  Then I stamped the detailed image in Orchid Oasis, the middle in Mango Melody and the face in Starry Sky! Note: I will likely die not knowing whether this is a right-side up or upside-down pansy.  If it’s wrong – just pretend it’s droopy after a Spring shower, okay? And if it’s TOTALLY wrong…well….I blame garden pests! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Starry Sky mat and into my Thick Basic White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Pansy Patch pansy on the front…

…and more of the Old Olive Regals 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Built right or wrong, I love the pretty flowers we can make with the Pansy Patch bundle, don’t you?  I have sweet little Violas blooming in the garden and these pansies remind me of them!  And the sentiments are so nice and in beautiful fonts!  The Layered Stripes stamp is really fun – I like the subtle sort of tone-on-tone that I got with the Embossed Resist Technique!

Finn Fan Fix

So -the first day after “the day” was tough on everyone here.  Especially Cady.  Being alone is tough for any horse – but to be alone AND without the horse you’ve been with for…20 years…is a big ask.

She didn’t handle being out in the pasture very well, so I spent the morning hand walking and grazing her, doing some in hand work to help distract her, and generally just trying to keep her busy.

We circled the barn many times – I think she was pretty convinced that “the day” had been a bad dream and that Cerah would be just the other side of the barn.

I totally get that.

She DID make time to graze though.  Priorities.

Finn observed – mostly from afar – to keep an eye in case she got unruly.

It was a long day.  Started cold – then got warm as we got to lunch time.

Finn had to find a good spot.

She did better in the afternoon.  And better yet on Wednesday.  And again on Thursday.  It’s a process for us all.

She’s now able to graze quietly – and eat hay in the shed.

She now only calls Cerah a few times a day.

Folks.  Never ever let anyone tell you that animals don’t feel.  They do.  And they grieve.  Just like we do.

I promise.

Stampin’ Up! Covered in Sunshine By The Bay with Video Tutorial

Happy Sunday, y’all!  Winter is giving one (I HOPE!) last gasp here in GA – it is…COLD!  And windy.  And…COLD!  Did I already say cold?  The wind has been blowing – think I saw a woozle go by a little bit ago – or maybe it was a heffalump.  It was moving too fast to know for sure!  Finn and the girls are fine but…we’re less than thrilled.  I’m just SURE that Spring is coming!  Fingers crossed!

My card today is another one that shows off the versatility of the By The Bay DSP – it is NOT just for nautical cards.  I paired it with the newly re-stocked (YEAH!) Dainty Delight bundle and the often-overlooked Covered in Sunshine stamp set.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up!Stampin’ Up! Rhino Ready Like an Animal Birthday Card

Good Monday morning y’all!  Hope you had a great weekend – ours was a little soggy.  We had a chance to get a little bitty bit of work done in the garden but…not much.  At least it’s hard for it to be “soggy” AND “polleny” at the same time!!  At least – that’s what I’m telling myself! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

My card today is a great one that would be a great birthday card for a guy – or really ANYone who loves a slightly smirky and totally adorable rhino!  Cuz the Rhino Ready stamp set – with its matching dies – brings THREE of the little boogers to life!  I used a couple of them – and paired them with the Like an Animal Specialty DSP (a little “on the nose” maybe but…I thought it fit!).  Take a look-see:
