Stampin’ Up! Garden Grown with Love Congratulations

Good mornin’, y’all!  It’s almost the weekend!  Whoo-hoo!  And for some of you it may even be a 4-day weekend! 🙂

Quick reminder – if you’re not a subscriber to Paper Pumpkin – now’s a great time to check it out!  You’ve got until 11:59PM (Mountain Time – be sure to do the math for your time zone so you don’t miss it!) tonight to take advantage of the 24-hour Flash Sale with 75% off your first Paper Pumpkin kit!  Click the banner and use the Promo Code ONEDAY0717 to get yours!

And – it’s also the very last day to take advantage of the extra $35 Stampin’ Rewards available on orders/workshops over $350!  Scroll on down for the deets.

So – with the admin stuff out of the way, my card today uses another newbie from the Annual Catalog – the Grown With Love bundle.  I added a little bit of paper from the new Pick a Pattern DSP and came up with…take a look-see:

The layout is from The Paper Players challenge this week:

And I drew inspiration – colors, florals, geometric accents – from The Card Concept challenge.

I started by cutting a piece of Pick a Pattern DSP in black and white and matting it on a piece of Real Red card stock.  I made it smaller than my usual card front to stay true to the sketch.  I also departed from a second “normal” (for me!) thing by SNAILing this matted piece to my Basic Black card base at this point in the build. 🙂

Next up, I cut a Stitched Shapes circle (largest circle die) from a piece of Whisper White card stock and matted it on a Real Red scalloped circle (cut with the largest scallop die in the Circles Layering Framelits).  I used some Liquid Glue to adhere this to the card front.

For my art work, I used a couple of images in the Grown with Love stamp set.  I colored the flowers and the little-red-wagon with my Real Red, Garden Green and Basic Black Stampin’ Write Markers and then stamped them all on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  The bundled Garden Grown Framelits has a matching die for both images, so I used those to cut them out.  I popped the wagon onto the matted circle, using regular and mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, then added the flowers with Liquid Glue.

I stamped two more Real Red flowers from the Grown with Love set and cut them out with their matching dies.  Using a stylus, I mushed in the center of each flower to give them a little depth and added them over the corresponding flowers on the card with Liquid Glue.

The sentiment on the banner is from the new Special Celebrations stamp set.  I stamped it on a strip of Whisper White in Basic Black Archival Ink.  I snipped one end as a banner, edged it with my Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker, and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a few Daffodil Delight Enamel Shapes to the flowers and the end of the sentiment banner, and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped some more flowers from another Grown with Love image across the bottom of a Whisper White panel, using my Stampin’ Write Markers again to color the image and my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig to align them just right.  You can see that I used just the flowers – avoiding the extra sentiment!

I SNAILd the panel to a Real Red mat and into the Basic Black card base and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a few more Grown with Love flowers on the front…

…and another piece of Pick a Pattern DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is a really cute little bundle – with flower pots and watering cans, flowers and vegetables!  All with matching dies in the Garden Grown Framelits!  Fun fun.  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Sweethearts and Tulips for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  Although a few ladies are off on vacation, we’ve still got some fun projects for y’all.

We had a color challenge this week – and here ’tis.  Pretty!

My card is the result of more mind changing and dithering.  I had a sketch in my head – but when I started actually making the card…about all I stuck with was the Sweetheart TIEF and the Tranquil Tulips.  When it came right down to it – I used a sentiment from the Lovely Words Thinlits and some Eastern Palace Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

I started with a piece of the Lemon Lime Twist paper from the Eastern Palace Specialty DSP as a mat (yes – a paper mat!).  The card front itself is a piece of Thick Whisper White card stock that I embossed in the new Sweetheart TIEF.  Using a Sweet & Sassy Framelits die (it’s the one that cut the entire un-embossed heart out of the panel!), I cut the heart out of the panel and SNAILd the whole thing to the Eastern Palace DSP. Happy Hawwmp Day, y’all!  Hope this finds you well and enjoying your week!

When I had lunch with my friend the other day, I took her a little sumpin’ sumpin’ that I made right quick with the Wood Crates Framelits and matching Wood Words stamp set.  And a fun pop of Lemon Zest!  Take a look-see:

I cut out two crate pieces with the Wood Crates Framelits from some Thick Whisper White card stock and stamped the floral image from Wood Words in Lemon Lime Twist on both of them.  I added a little more color with a Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Write Marker.   Continue reading

Stampin’ Up! Bundle of Love Celebrate Baby Card

Mornin’, y’all!  Hope your week is going well!

I have a friend who’s so close to giving birth to their second child that…I hope she’s quit working!  She and her husband are folks I work with and they’re both smart as can be and sweet kids on top of that.  I’ve been sending their little boy a birthday present and card for all his 2 years and I’ll do the same with this little one. And this one’s a girl!!

Don’t get me wrong – there’s absolutely nothing wrong with baby boys.  They’re just as darling as baby girls.

But – come on.  Admit it!  The clothes for little girl humans are sooooo much cuter!

You know I’m right!!

So.  I decided I needed to get on the stick and make a card for the big event.  I bought some clothes to send and then I had a brain storm.   I’ll share it when it’s time.

My card starts with the really wonderful cards and decorations in the new Bundle of Love Card Pack – part of the new Memories & More goodies.  I added in a few images and sentiments from the A Little Wild stamp set and…Tabs for Everything.  Take a look-see (sorry for the shadow!):

Now – this one’ll take a minute to describe.  There’s a lot of moving parts.  This, folks, is what happens when I can’t decide what to do on a card, so I just start making.  And then I add a little of this. Continue reading

Stampin’ Up! Eclectic Eastern Medallion Video Sneak Peek

Good Sunday morning, y’all!  I’m working today – hope you’re not!

I had a lovely Saturday.  Met a new friend for lunch – we spent just the nicest two hours enjoying a wonderful meal (yea – I decided it would be a cheat day!) and a lovely breeze by the water.  We talked about stamping and dieting and living in Florida and books and traveling (and how much we both hate flying these days!).  She’s even read the series of books that I just started – and took a vacation to Ireland.  It was a thoroughly lovely time.  And – all because of Stampin’ Up!  Never would have met her otherwise! 🙂

So – as has become the norm, I’ll be live tonight at 8pm Eastern on my Stamps-N-Lingers Facebook Page.  We’re going to play with the pretty Eastern Medallion Thinlits and some Naturally Eclectic DSP.  I hope you’ll join me – bring your Thinlits and paper and Eastern Beauty stamp set and let’s play! Or just come to watch.  Here’s a sneaky tease…

Tomorrow’s post will have all the card cuts and products used, plus more pictures! Continue reading

So – I pulled out the new Graceful Garden stamp set and the Artistically Asian stamp set, plus some Color Theory DSP – and gave you exactly that.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Coffee Cafe, Cake and Chocolate Birthday!

Wow – is it just me or is time really kind of flying??  Is it really Friday again!?  Yikes!  Hope your week is going by as quickly as mine and that you’re all ready for a weekend!

I had a nice day for my birthday – didn’t have to go in to work, got some new books to read and a lovely mom-knitted sweater (from my mom!).  Thanks to all for the birthday wishes as I turned 25…

…Plus Next Day Air Shipping and Handling.

Keeping the birthday theme going, a friend of mine has one coming up.  She has a few loves in life – and three of them are in the title to this post.

Coffee.

Cake.

Chocolate.

Not necessarily in that order.

And – if one can combine the three into one – all the better!!

So – when the new Coffee Break Suite came out – and then there was also the More Than Chocolate stamp set – well…I knew something would come of them for her!  And so it has.  Take a look-see:

I definitely drew some inspiration from the Annual Catalog projects for the Coffee Break Suite, and then I sort of went from there.  Folks – never be afraid to get ideas from other stampers and the catalog!  Sharing/Copying is IN!!  Heck – we’ve even got a name for it!! CASE – Copy and Share Everything – or Copy And Selectively Edit.   Continue reading
