Stampin’ Up! January Paper Pumpkin!

Good Friday, y’all!  Not “Good Friday” like it’s almost Easter, just good Friday!  By the time you read this, I might already be on my way home!

Or…not.  As I write this on Thursday evening, I have no real plans to leap out of my really very very comfortable Mariott bed and hurry to get on the road.  Of course, I almost always think that and then the morning comes and I wake up and just want to get home….guess we’ll see tomorrow how I feel about it this time around!

So – I had big plans that centered around my Paper Pumpkin kit for January.  My orange box arrived a couple of days before I came to Huntsville.  I figured I’d bring it with me and do a little leisurely stamping last night (Wednesday) and then share my prowess with you in this post.

I carefully gathered my box and an acrylic block and took them to the bedroom to add to my suitcase.

Yesterday morning, I got up and – instead of having my coffee and watching some tv – I had my coffee and did my blog post for Thursday.  See where I’m headed?  I’d have the blog post all done – leaving me with no work to accomplish on Wednesday evening.  Plenty of time for my planned leisurely stamping.

What do you think really happened?

Yep.  I’m guessing my orange box – with acrylic block in it – is sitting in my bedroom at home, right next to where my suitcase was sitting.

So…no personally-made-by-Mary January 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit.

And – now that I think of it – the pictures probably wouldn’t have come out so bueno – no good light in the room!

But.  I’m going to share what’s in the kit and what it makes.  As well as a quick video.

I also have a reminder about the sale going on for new subscribers to Paper Pumpkin – which can help you earn one or more Sale-A-Bration goodies!

Between now and the end of March, get a discount on 3-month prepaid subscriptions and instantly qualify for a FREE Sale-A-Bration item!

3-Month Prepaid Subscription (137859) $59 $55

Or…take it to the next level with a 12-month prepaid subscription!  You’ll save over $2/month with the everyday awesome price, earn Stampin’ Rewards, and instantly qualify for 4 FREE Sale-A-Bration items!

12-Month Prepaid Subscription (137861) $215

So – now that you know how to get signed up and get some free goodies – let me show you what’s in the January Kit.

Which I guess I’ll get to do this weekend! 😉

When you open the box, you’re going to see….(the video shows it all!)

  • 24 tiny treat bags
  • 8 photopolymer stamps – every PP kit includes an exclusive stamp set!

Stampin’ Up! One Big Meaning Falling Leaves

Good morning, ya’ll – it’s Friday!  And – even though it’s about a 1000 degrees while I type this on Thursday night – I have hope that when you’re reading this the “cold” front will have moved thru and it’ll be pretending to be Fall!  The weatherman said it was going to happen, so….you know it will! 😉

Before we get going…wanted to remind you about my Ordering Special that’s going on for a few more days…don’t miss a great chance to stock up for the Holiday mailing frenzy!

Okay.  With that out of the way, let’s talk about Finn for half a second.  He’s been growing – I swear he’s bigger than he was two days ago! – and learning.  And chasing the cats – he really just wants to see them but his speed-of-heat galloping is more than they can stand still for!.  And trying to chew any and everything he can find.  And playing ball – and frisbee – and bumper (y’all – I have a new puppy.  Buy stock in PetSmart.  Trust me on this!).  And riding in the golf cart – he’s a farm dog already!

….and being “turtled” by his dad – this is a good thing to do with puppies, it helps them learn to relax and teaches submission.

He’s gonna be too big to do this in about a minute, huh? 🙂  You can’t hardly even tell that his dad doesn’t like him, can you?!? 😉

And – he’s been cute.  Just ridiculously, overwhelmingly, goofy-ly cute.  Just when I think I’ve seen all his cute things, he’ll do something new.  Like…

No – he’s not chewing the kennel bars (at least not right at this exact moment!).  He’s resting.  By resting his top teeth and nose on the bars.  Goofy goofy little dog!  This is his “day” crate – where we put him so we can have dinner – I can make a card, or do my “real” work.  Otherwise…it’s chaos.  His “night” crate is about 4 times bigger.  And is in the bedroom at the end of the bed.  I have no intention of spoiling him.  Nothing worse than a spoiled dog.

PetSmart, people.  Pet.  Smart. 🙂

So – my card for today has some recycled elements.  Remember this card from the other day?

That’s right – from the October Paper Pumpkin.  Well, the leaves that I punched out to make the windows….I kept them.  Pack-rat, much, Mary?  I mean, heck – there are 24 of them.  And they’re pretty.  So for today, I used them and added a sentiment from One Big Meaning, and a little more color with the Touches of Texture stamp set.  Take a look-see:

I used a sketch challenge from CAS(E) This Sketch – #195   – to be exact, for the design.

And my color palette came courtesy of Pals Paper Arts challenge #323:

Since all my leaves were already sitting in a tidy little pile – don’t laugh, I have a few tidy places around! – this went together pretty quickly.

For each of my leaves, I used a sponge with Emerald Envy and one with Tangerine Tango.  First I stippled them lightly with each color – stipple means to sort of tap with the sponge (like you do in stenciling).  Then I used the Tangerine Tango sponge to sponge all the edges.  I brushed each of the leaves with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to give them some sheen, and then rounded them with my stylus.  Some I rounded from the back and some from the front.

On a Very Vanilla panel, I used the large dots image in Touches of Texture.  I stamped once with Tangerine Tango and then again without re-inking.  Then I repeated that with Emerald Envy.

Using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I stamped the large sentiment from One Big Meaning in Emerald Envy.

In a bit of a departure from my usual process, I SNAILd the panel to a Tangerine Tango mat and then onto my Tip Top Taupe card base.  I wanted to be able to add the leaves and have them sort of “falling” off the edge of the card front onto the card base.

I arranged the leaves and then used  Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere some and Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere some of the others.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I used a Very Vanilla panel matted on Tangerine Tango.  I colored up another of my leaves and adhered it in the corner with Liquid Glue.

I SNAIL it into the card base and the card was done! 🙂

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more of the Touches of Texture dots in Tangerine Tango and Emerald Envy on the front, as well as another leaf (I have twenty-four of them – I can be generous!)…

…and I repeated that on the envelope flap as well.

Et Voila!  Recycling – it’s not just for aluminum cans and paper, folks!  If you’re a Paper Pumpkin subscriber and you have this October kit – hang on to the leaves – you never know what ideas might come your way!  If you’re not – try the Leaflets Framelits.  Cut them from Very Vanilla and stipple ’em up!  Hope you like! 🙂

Use this host code when you order and receive a free gift from me! But, if your order is over $150, please don’t use this code (you’ll miss out on your own Stampin’ Rewards if you use it) but you’ll still get the free gift – your choice of any item valued up to $10.00 in the 2015-16 Annual Catalog or the 2016 Holiday Catalog.

Stamps-N-Lingers 2016 Retired Product Tool-Box Clearout!

Hey y’all – this is my second post of the day.  If you’re looking for the card I shared today, check it out here!

I’m going to try to downsize some of the many stamps, punches, embossing folders, Thinlits, Framelits, ribbons and even paper that I’ve got that are now retired! I don’t like posting projects I’ve made with products you can’t get anymore – just doesn’t seem fair or fittin’ – so, when SU! puts a product out to pasture….I try not to use it anymore!  Which means I’ve got a lot of fun things that need to go down the road – to make way for the ridiculous number of new goodies I fully intend to have coming in!!  In fact – some of those new pretties will be here this afternoon… 😉

Some things are harder to part with than others – let me tell you! Envelope Liner Framelits. 2 1/2″ Punch. Sigh…

But I’m going to do it – or I’m going to have to add on to my house.  That seems kind of extreme! Continue reading

Stampin’ Up! Quick Update and New Tutorial!

Hey guys – not much to share with this – my second post of the day! – but did want to let you know that I’ve uploaded a Tutorial for the Mini Murse in a box that I shared yesterday!  Check it out here.

And – in case you didn’t already know it – this stampin’ stuff is HEAVY!!  Fortunately, I got to the airport early (and it wasn’t busy!) so I had time to move stuff from one suitcase to another and pull out a few things (magnetic platform!!) to put in my carry-on tote!  10 pounds over!!  Yikes!  The Delta check-in agent was quite nice, though – letting me do what I needed to do and not rushing me!
