Stampin’ Up! Celebrate Sunflowers Well Written Welcome New Pet Card

Well – it’s Monday again – hope y’all are ready for the week!  Don’t know about you but we here in GA had a simply perfect Fall-preview day yesterday!  Bright sun – blue skies – low humidity – mid 70’s!  My windows and doors were open all day and I enjoyed a few hours on the mower in the pasture!  It was wonderful – and I hope we get a few weeks of it!

One of my friends from my previous work-life is…getting a new addition to his family!  They lost their senior GSD a few months back and…finally were ready for a new face in the house.  So…I made them a card to welcome…Gus!  They’re pretty big gardeners, so I used the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle, the Dog Builder Punch (duh!) and a few sentiments from the Well Said stamp set and coordinating Well Written Dies.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Celebration Tidings Always Grateful

Good morning and happy Monday!  Did you do something fun this weekend?

On Sunday – our team got together via Zoom for our Quarterly Team Meeting!  And – in addition to getting Stampin’ Up! updates AND doing an awesome Prize Patrol…a few of us demo’d some cards for the team to make.  In TTBC (The Time Before COVID) – we’d have met in person and crafted together to make the four cards.  Now-a-days?  Zoom zoom!

We all used the same bundle – the Celebration Tidings bundle – but…boy, were our projects different!  Although… we DID all use Plaid Tidings DSP!  Appears we all LOVE Plaid Tidings DSP and want it to stick around forever!!

The card that I did has an autumn theme – all ready for cool Fall days and the arrival of pumpkins and leaves galore.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! World’s Greatest – August 2020 Paper Pumpkin!

Good Saturday, y’all!  Hope you’re ready for a great weekend – I’ll be hanging “virtually” with a BUNCH of Stampin’ Up! Leaders today – and that’s what I got to do yesterday, too!  Awesome info being passed to us – using a platform that is ALMOST as good as being there.

I laid in some extra candy just to make the experience more “real”! 😉

The other day, I got my August Paper Pumpkin in the mail!  It’s called World’s Greatest – and it’s full of….great! 😎…goodies to make 9 cards and coordinating envelopes!

Can you tell that one of the designs is a shaker card?  Well…trust me on this.  It totally is!

And they ALL have foil accents – which is too fun!

Lots of great sentiments for you, too – for the kit projects AND for future cards!

The stamp set – called World’s Greatest is – like ALL Paper Pumpkin stamp sets – exclusive to the kit.

The kit – again like ALL Paper Pumpkin kits! – comes with everything you need to make the projects – as well as the instructions! 🙂

Once everything is together – this is what you’ll have!  And – you KNOW how I feel about envelopes!  #nonekkidenvelopes  🙂

And – you don’t have to stop there – you could make a few “as directed” cards and then go off on your own.  Here’s some ideas for you!  How cute is that pencil?!?

You can check out the “official” Stampin’ Up! video for this month’s kit right here!

So – there’s what August looked like! September’s kit rolls in….FALL!

As the autumn season approaches, prepare to celebrate with the September Paper Pumpkin Kit! There’s so much to love about fall—some love the haunts of Halloween, many love the time to give thanks, and others love the changing colors and cooler temperatures. Whatever you love most about fall, September’s kit has everything you need to celebrate the season your way!

September’s kit is a must-have for those who love to celebrate all things spooky.  But, for those who DON’T enjoy the Halloween haunts, the multi-occasion stamp set – combined with a variety of die-cut and reversible paper pieces – offers many ways to customize your fall crafts!

The Hello Pumpkin Paper Pumpkin Kit includes enough supplies to create projects celebrating Halloween, Thanksgiving, and the autumn season. Make them all the same, or mix ‘n’ match!

Here’s the deets….

  • Kit contains enough supplies to create 20 cracker box treat packages.
  • Each cracker box treat package can be customized to celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving, the autumn season, or all three!
  • Coordinating Colors: Bumblebee, Basic Black, Cajun Craze, Cinnamon Cider, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, white
  • And – to get THIS kit, you MUST be signed up by 10 Sep.  Sign up on 11 Sep….and you’ll get the OCTOBER kit.  Which is probably awesome – but…it’s not THIS one!

So – are you a Paper Pumpkin Subscriber?  If you’re not – but…you’d like to give these fun, all-inclusive kits, a try – you can sign up for a subscription where you are billed monthly for your kit OR you can purchase a prepaid subscription in my online store.  To see more information and to sign up for the monthly subscription, click here. My Fundraiser to Help Iowa – ends in TWO Days!!

On 10 August, the state of Iowa was hit with a derecho storm.  If you have seen any videos of it – it truly looked like a hurricane had hit Iowa.  Uhm – because it totally had – winds in the 100+mph range (that’s Cat 2 territory, folks!)  With no warning to speak of.  To say it was devastating is a bit of an understatement! 🙁

As a result of the storm, at least 43% of the corn and soybeans grown in the state were lost.  Which will be seen in the supermarkets where you and I get our food!  But beyond all that – many in that state are hurting, have lost their homes, schools and businesses and some are still without power (12+ days after the storm and with daytime temps in the 90’s ). Many farm families lost everything and are left with a huge mess to clean up prior to planting next spring.  With so much destruction, they can really use our help!

There’s an organization in Cedar Rapids, IA, called the Iowa Giving Crew, a Cedar Rapids based non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that’s helping to get power restored to those still waiting, is feeding those in need, provides 3 meals a day and is helping with the cleanup.  They’ve got a Facebook page that you can see here with photos and details about the help they’re providing.

In an effort to help, I’ve set a goal of donating $500 to the Iowa Giving Crew.

How can you help me help them??

Place a Stampin’ Up! Order Or Donate Directly!

There are two ways you can help me to reach my goal:

Shop Online: For any orders placed through my online store between now and 31 August 2020 I’ll be donating 20% of your merchandise total to the Iowa Giving Crew.

  • 20% of orders placed through my online store between now and 31 August 2020 will be donated to the Iowa Giving Crew.
  • You’ll earn Peppermint Points and a thank you gift from me with all orders of $50! See my host code details below.
  • Anyone ordering $50+ will be entered to win a new Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine from me to be given away on 1 September 2020! See the details below.

OR….

Make a Donation of $25+ directly to the Iowa Giving Crew:

  • Anyone worldwide is welcome to make a donation to the charity directly via Venmo or PayPal to help (see the details to donate on the Iowa Giving Crew website here).
  • For those in the US, send me a screenshot of the receipt for your donation of $25+ to the Iowa Giving Crew to stamps-n-lingers@comcast.net and you’ll be entered to win the new Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine* to be given away on 1 September! See the details below.
  • If you order $50+ through my Stampin’ Up! store AND donate at least $25 directly to the Iowa Giving Crew, your name will be entered twice to win the machine!

Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine Giveaway

1 September!

As an added bonus, I’ll enter anyone who either orders $50+ through my online store between now and 31 August 2020 OR who makes a direct donation* to the Iowa Giving Crew by 31 August 2020 into a drawing for a brand new Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine!

*Please note: Per Stampin’ Up! rules, I’m only allowed to ship the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to addresses in the United States or military APO addresses.  Only those with US/APO shipping addresses will be eligible to win the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Anyone outside the US is welcome to donate but will not be eligible to win the machine. Orders and/or Donations must be placed by midnight MT on 31 August 2020 to be entered to win the machine.  One winner of the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine will be randomly chosen on Tuesday, 1 September from all of the entries received.

Questions?
Drop me an email at stamps-n-lingers@comcast.net with any questions.  I so appreciate your help and donations to help the good folks in Iowa!! #iowastrong #derecho2020

UPDATE!!  Right now, we’re at $500!  YEAH!!

Since there are still a few days left … I’ve decided to add a SECOND Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine if we hit $1000 in combined donations by the end of the day on 31 Aug!!

Finn Fan Fix

Most evenings – Finn does one of two things.

I ask – are you ready for bed or do you want to go outside?

He responds by either heading down the hall to the bedroom or to the back door to go out.

Okay – a lot of his answer depends on where he’s standing and where he’s “pointed” when I ask it! I think he goes out sometimes with no real need! 😉

On the nights he chooses to go outside – I put his blinky light collar on and tell him to hurry and come right back.

When he comes in he makes a beeline for bed.

Usually – I can snag him in time to take the blinky light collar.

Sometimes…I miss…

You gotta be quick – once he heads to bed….he’s like a HF on a laser! 😉

Stamps-N-Lingers July 2020 Summer Nights Paper Pumpkin Peek!

Hey y’all – happy Friday!  Sorry I missed you guys yesterday on YouTube – it was one of those days where I was at the mercy of the medical establishment.  And – since all things run on their time-line (and not ours!), canceling our video just seemed like the prudent thing to do!

But…I missed ya! 🙁

For today – I thought I’d give you a peek at the July 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit called…Summer Nights!  It’s a lot of fun – it makes luminarias and postcards if you make it according to the instructions in the kit!  There’s also an Add-On – with note cards and envelopes to transform the leftovers – or the primary pieces depending on what you want to do! – into regular cards.  Check out the kit!

First up – there’s the exclusive Summer Nights stamp set and a Blackberry Bliss Ink Spot…

Then it all opened up to reveal the goodies needed to create nine postcards and coordinating envelopes, as well as nine die-cut tealight bags.

I also bought the add on…

…and made cards and envelopes!

First – here’s the video that shows you how the kit goes together “regular”…

And here are the cards you could make with the kit goodies and the Add-On!

I love these lanterns strung on the twine, don’t you?  With the fireworks in the background – it really says easy summer nights!

This next one is one of my faves!  Here in Georgia, the lightning bugs have really been in out in force this summer!  Like…more than I’ve seen in a long time.  They often come right up to our windows and “bug” us! 😉  These cuties on this card – yep.  They’re JUST like that!

The last one looks like summer on the boardwalk!  And actually makes me think back to two summers ago when we were in Seattle before our cruise.  We walked down to the pier and there was the giant ferris wheel!  We didn’t ride it, but…it would have been fun.  HIGH – but fun!

I’ve got cards and envelopes left-over – so they’ll be awesome bases for more projects!  I think they’ll be great for birthday and congrats cards, don’t you?  And – did you notice the uber-cute lightning bugs on the inside of the envelope flaps? #nonekkidenvelopes!

So – let’s talk August Paper Pumpkin for a second!

It’s the World’s Greatest kit and it’ll help you celebrate and appreciate life’s champions and everyday heroes.

Box of Sunshine - June Paper Pumpkin

Lately, it’s become abundantly clear who the everyday heroes are—they’ve been around us – but now we’re REALLY taking note!  Teachers, doctors, hairdressers, nurses, delivery workers, cashiers, and even our friends, kids, and family members go above and beyond to enrich our lives.  These people are truly the world’s greatest at what they do!

Celebrate and appreciate the everyday heroes in YOUR life with the August Paper Pumpkin Kit. The cards included in this kit are specifically designed for celebrating life’s champions!  Check out this quick video to catch a glimpse of World’s Greatest by Paper Pumpkin.

Here’s some deets:

  • Kit contains enough supplies to create nine cards and coordinating envelopes.
  • Card size: 4-1/4” x 5-1/2”
  • Envelope size: 4-1/2” x 5-3/4”
  • Coordinating Colors: Bumblebee, gold, Mint Macaron, Pacific Point, Soft Suede, white
  • The kit’s stamp set includes Distinktive stamps – these are photo-realistic stamps that create an impressive detailed image with a single stamp.  Cool beans, huh?!

And – while this kit will create cards that’ll be great for ANYone to receive, they’re especially perfect for the men in your life!  Yeah for masculine cards (we all KNOW how hard it is to create those, don’t we!!?).

Be aware – if you want get THIS kit, you MUST be signed up for Paper Pumpkin by 10 Aug.  Sign up on 11 Aug….and you’ll get the SEPTEMBER kit.  Which is probably awesome – but…it’s not THIS one!

If you’re not a Paper Pumpkin subscriber – there are two ways to sign up – check it!

You can sign up for a subscription where you’re billed monthly for your kit – click here to get started.

Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin Box of Sunshine Reveal

Hey y’all!  Happy Tuesday!  Hope you’re having a great week. Had a good day yesterday for my birthday.  We had Popeyes for lunch – did a little shopping – and got our first of the two-shot Shingles vaccine – yes, WE know how to celebrate a birthday, for sure!! LOL!!

I really want to thank all of you for the wonderful birthday wishes I got all day – in the mailbox – in the InBox – on Facebook.  I appreciate each and every one of you very much!!  I’ve hijacked Finn’s spot today and tomorrow – cuz the cards I’ve received are wonderful and I want to share them with y’all! 🙂

My bright yellow Box of Sunshine Paper Pumpkin Kit arrived the other day and I thought I’d put it together lickety split – cuz…it really looked like a great kit!

As soon as I opened the box – I knew I was right – it IS a great kit!

I found the sweet exclusive Box of Sunshine stamp set and a Basic Black Ink Spot…

…and all the pieces and parts to make eight cards – decorate the box for sending/gifting – AND leave me with plenty of leftover elements to use to create more cards!

The eight cards went together really quickly – some stamping – a little sticker-sticking and some dimensionalizing and…

How sweet are those cards?

And – in the spirit of no-nekkid-envelopes….SU! pre-printed them for us with pretty gold-foil accents!

So pretty and fun!

I decorated my box – and will pick one of the four card-designs to include when I mail it out!

Box of Sunshine, indeed!

So – in case you’re wondering – here’s Sara with a quick video on how it all goes together!

Cool, right?

Well – I’ll tell you what – the July Paper Pumpkin looks to be very cool, too!  Check it out!

Celebrate the magic of summer nights with the Summer Nights Paper Pumpkin Kit!  In this exclusive fun-filled kit, you’ll unbox enough supplies to create nine postcard-style cards, coordinating envelopes, and die-cut tealight bags. What’s even more spectacular about July’s kit is the ADD-ON you can purchase along with it!

The Summer Nights Add-On includes 24 card bases and envelopes in coordinating Summer Nights designs.  This add-on is perfect for helping you expand the Summer Nights creative experience beyond the Paper Pumpkin kit.  Between the add-on and the leftover supplies from your Summer Nights kit, you’ll be crafting a summer night worth celebrating all month long!

The Deets:

Summer Nights Kit

Kit contains enough supplies to create nine postcards and coordinating envelopes, as well as nine die-cut tealight bags.

  • Card size: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Envelope size: 4-1/2” x 5-3/4”
  • Coordinating Colors: Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy
  • The Paper Pumpkin kit does not require the add-on to create completed projects.

Summer Nights Add-On

Stampin-Up-July-Paper-Pumpkin-Kit-Add-On-Stamps-N-Lingers

Contains 24 pre-printed card bases and coordinating envelopes.

  • Card size: 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
  • Envelope size: 4-1/2″ x 5-3/4″
  • The Summer Nights Add-On is not required to complete the Paper Pumpkin kit projects.

You’ll be able to purchase the Add-On starting 1 July, while supplies last! Item 154973 – $10

Note: During demonstrator product testing, SU! learned that the Summer Nights Add-On could make at least 20 additional cards when combined with the leftover pieces from the Summer Nights kit.  Whoo-hoo!!

Okay – they had me at “tealight bags”!! – and I bet lots of folks are going to be excited for those, too.  Which means…this one could sell out in a hurry!  So…if you’re already a Paper Pumpkin subscriber – don’t suspend or skip for this month!  If not, but you’d like to sign up, there are two ways!

You can sign up for a subscription where you’re billed monthly for your kit – click here to get started.

So that you can prep your Designer Series Paper before the event starts – here’s a PDF of the instruction/cut sheet!

If you’re unable to participate in the live craft party, the replay will be available to view any time on Sara’s Facebook page!!

Okay – fold one done! 🙂  Hope you get a chance to “hang” with Sara – she’s a lot of fun and it’s all going to a great cause!

Fold Two!  Paper Pumpkin!

My May Kit arrived yesterday and I opened it up right away. I’d heard good things about it and was anious to put the cards together!

I found a cute stamp set – and a Misty Moonlight Ink Spot!!  Whoo-hoo!!!

Plus a bunch of die cut designs, banners, CLOUDS!, twine, vellum pieces and ADORABLE puffy flowers in the new 2020-2022 In Colors (plus Purple Posy!) – with card bases and envelopes to make 8 full size cards and 4 notecards!

I got busy right quick and, about an hour later (okay – twelve twine bows sort of slowed me down.  Don’t judge!) – I had them all done!

How.  Pretty.  Are.  Those!?

This set REALLY showcases the new In Colors and lets you see how well they work together!

The first full-sized card is based on Just Jade with the pretty rainbow “postage stamp” die cut on the front!  And – do you see the flowers??  They’re sort of “puffy” and I love them!

The second full-size card has super fun clouds on a rainbow base!  And my favorite sentiment in the whole kit!

Finally, there are four notecards, with a Purple Posy base.  This one is really fun – and I kept hearing Mike Myers in my head saying “Groooovy, baby”!!! 😉

I didn’t do anything to the insides yet – I’m keeping them blank so that I can add a sentiment as I need one.  Happy Birthday.  Congratulations.  Welcome to the Team!  These are great cards – ready for any occasion!!

Here’s a quick how-to-put-it-together video!  JIC my highly detailed instructions didn’t help. 😉

This is a great kit – and…the June kit – created with lots of input from Sara herself – looks to be equally awesome!

This exclusive Sara-inspired Paper Pumpkin kit is here to help you #sharesunshine.  It includes supplies for eight handmade cards and is specially designed to help you create a box full of cheer. Once you’ve made all the cards, use any leftover pieces to decorate the box. Fill it with yellow goodies, add the included adhesive label, address it to someone special, and brighten their life with a little sunshine!

Here’s Sara again to tell you more…

And here’s the deets!

Box of Sunshine

  • Kit contains supplies for 8 cards and envelopes (2 cards of 4 designs)
  • Card size: 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
  • Envelope size: 4-1/2″ x 5-3/4″
  • Coordinating Colors: Basic Black, Bumblebee, Crushed Curry, Poppy Parade, Shaded Spruce, White, and Gold

Box of Sunshine Information: This kit includes extra pieces and stickers (including a sticker label) to help you create cards AND a Box of Sunshine filled with treats and goodies to send to a friend. (Treats not included!  Darn it!)

Now – like the May kit, I have a sneaking suspicion that this one could sell out in a hurry!  So…if you’re already a Paper Pumpkin subscriber – don’t suspend or skip for this month!  If not, but you’d like to sign up, there are two ways!

You can sign up for a subscription where you’re billed monthly for your kit – click here to get started.

OR…

…you can do a Prepaid Subscription!

Just a note!  To get the June Box of Sunshine – you MUST be signed up/active by the 10th of June.  If you sign up on the 11th of June…you’ll get the JULY kit!  Copy??

Finn is a…teensy bit…of a medler.

Not a lot – I mean, he doesn’t dig in the trash.

Mostly.

Or chew things to bits.

Mostly.

Or…steal things.

Mostly.

Unless…it’s a peppermint wrapper.

And then, all bets are off.

He’s standing in the front of the tack room door, all innocent, waiting for me to let him out.

Real casual.

Whistling, even.  To throw me off.

Huh?  Wrapper? In my mouth?!?

Stampin’ Up! Good Morning Magnolia Fun Fold with Video Tutorial

Happy Friday!!  Hope it’s been a good week for you. We’re just doing the self-isolation/quarantine thing…how about you?  Besides card making – what fun things are you doing to keep yourself busy (and sane!) as we head into the 765th weekend of The COVID-19 Crisis??

If you were able to join me for my YouTube video – I appreciate you spending some of your day with me!  If not, but you’d like to see the replay…here ’tis!

As you can see from the photo above – this card is based on the wonderful Magnolia Lane Suite – the Good Morning Magnolia bundle (with the Magnolia Memories Die set) and gorgeous Magnolia Lane DSP!  I created a fun-fold that looks a lot like an envelope so…that’s what I’m calling it!  Take a look-see:

The layout – that I turned into a fun-fold! – was inspired by this week’s Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge.

I started with a 5 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock that I scored and folded at 2 5/8″ and again at 6 7/8″ for the card base.

On the smaller panel, I measured and marked the half-way point (2 3/4″) and used my Paper Trimmer to cut the point.

.

I used the same technique (measure half-way down the long side and cut to the point) to create the Petal Pink mat (2 1/2″ x 5 1/4″) and the Magnolia Lane DSP (2 3/8″ x 4 7/8″) panel.  Note – this part of the card is at about the 7:35 mark in the video! 🙂

Then I adhered the pieces together and to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I adhered a different design of the DSP to a larger Petal Pink mat and then to the larger panel on the front.

For the sentiment, I inked the Good Morning Magnolia sentiment in Versamark Ink and stamped it on a piece of Basic Black card stock. I sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool.  When it was cool, I cut it out with a Stitched So Sweetly label die.

Using the small flower die in the Magnolia Memories Die set – I cut a magnolia blossom from one of the designs in the Magnolia Lane DSP.  I used the leaves dies to cut three Mossy Meadow leaves.

Using Liquid Glue – I adhered the flower to the sentiment label and the leaves to the underside of the label.

I used Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment to the point of the envelope fold – being sure to leave room for my ribbon to slide through to create my closure.

I added some Pearl Basic Jewels to the label – and the card front was done!

For the inside, I stamped the small flower from Good Morning Magnolia in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a Whisper White panel.  I colored the bloom with my Petal Pink and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends Combo.  Then I added a sentiment in Mossy Meadow.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Petal Pink mat and into my card base – and the card was done!

I slid a length of ribbon (either Petal Pink 5/16″ Organdy Striped Ribbon or the linen ribbon from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack – which is retiring and on sale!!) under the label and tied a bow to create the closure for the card.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Good Morning Magnolia blossom on the front…

…and some more Magnolia Lane DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is a super easy fold – once you know the dimensions for the pointy flap, right?  I love how it lets you showcase some gorgeous DSP like the Retiring-soon Magnolia Lane paper (and – it’s got a GREAT price right now)!  I hope you like!

And I’m SO happy that the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and coordinating Magnolia Memories Dies are carrying over!

Do remember, though – that the BUNDLE pricing (with its 10% Savings) WILL go away when this catalog ends.  You’ll have to purchase the stamp set and dies separately in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog!

Just sayin’….

Some days?  The quarantining is just…too much for a guy.  The humans need too much attention.  Too much love.  Too much…everything.

Finn Fan Fix

On my video on Saturday night, I mentioned that I’d made a big batch of homemade granola, using a yumm-o sounding recipe my mom sent.

And – I got requests to share, so… here ’tis!

This is a Vermont Country Store recipe – they sent it to my mom in an e-mail….

How does this relate to Finn?

Food.  Finn.  Hello?

We makin’ granola for us, Mom??

I love granola.

What’s granola, again??

It’s called Lumberjack Granola – I’ll give you the recipe as written and then my substitutes/changes. 🙂

Ingredients

8 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
1 cup hulled sunflower seeds
1 cup hulled pumpkin seeds
2 cups walnuts
1 cup maple syrup
1 cup golden raisins
2 cups almonds
1 cup canola or olive oil
1 cup dried cranberries
2 cups pecans
1 Tablespoon coarse sea salt
1 cup shredded coconut

Preparation

Preheat oven to 325 degrees

In a large stainless-steel bowl, combine the oats, sunflower and pumpkin seeds walnuts, almonds and pecans.  Stir with a large wooden spoon (or clean hands) to combine.

Transfer about 4 cups of the mixture to a food processor fitted with the steel blade and pulse to coarsely chop, but do not make the pieces too small.  (This is just to slightly reduce the size of chunks to bit-size and you can skip this step if you prefer really chunky granola.)  Transfer the chopped oat mixture to a second large stainless-steel bowl.  Repeats until you have coarsely chopped the whole batch – again, not too fine.

Toss the oat mixture with the salt.  Pour the maple syrup and the oil over the top and stir with a wooden spoon or clean hands to completely combine the liquids with the oat mixture.  It will look just slightly moist.

Spread the granola evenly over the two shallow roasting pans or rimmed baking sheets in a single layer, about 1″ deep.  You may need to do this in two batches.  Bake, stirring every 15 min or so to keep the granola from burning and turning the pans to bake evenly.  Toast to a golden brown, about 45 minutes.  Remove from the pan and transfer back to one of the large bowls.

Toss will still warm with the raisins, cranberries and coconut. Let cool before packing into large mason jars to keep up to 2 months.

My changes

  1. I didn’t use the dried cranberries – they’re not our fave so…substituted dried dates.  About 10 ounces worth.
  2. Used canola oil – and only about 1/2 cup.
  3. Didn’t use walnuts – really don’t care for them.  So used extra pecans.  I couldn’t really tell you how many pecans I used.  At least 2 cups – plus…however many looked about right.
  4. Used slivered almonds cuz that’s what I had in the freezer.
  5. Didn’t use sunflower seeds.  No reason why – just didn’t have them and didn’t buy any more.
  6. My pumpkin seeds were roasted and salted.  Worked great.
  7. Do NOT skip the COARSE Sea Salt.  I had fine sea salt on hand, but bought some coarse for this.  That little tiny crunch of salt is perfect!!
  8. Try to use real maple syrup.  Try not to lick the syrup off the bottle.  Or…be sure no one is watching if you do!

Get ready to love this granola. And – if you’re of a mind – it would be awesome in trail mix form – add m&m’s or chocolate chips when the mix is….almost completely cool.  We didn’t do that.  Wanted to – but…we’re using as cereal, so…

We can add the chips into our cereal bowl on the down-low!

Enjoy!
