Good morning, y’all – welcome to another edition of the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team blog hop! Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is For the Boys/Men! Be sure to check out everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!
Although it’s awesome for everyone on your list, the new Relaxing Waterside Bundle and coordinating Waterside Retreat DSP are just spot-on PERFECT for those masculine card needs that you may have! So – it was sort of a totally obvious choice for today’s birthday card! Take a look-see:
I started by adhering some wood-grain paper from the Waterside Retreat DSP on Mossy Meadow cardstock for the card front.
Next – I cut out a “scene” from the paper – there’s two panels of pretty scenes to choose from! – matted it on Mossy Meadow and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
On a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock, I stamped a Relaxing Waterside sentiment in Versamark Ink. Then I sprinkled it with white Basics WOW Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool.
When the powder had cooled, I cut it out with the smallest Perennial Postage die.
Using the dies in the Relaxing Waterside set, I cut out two Old Olive cattails and two Earthen Toned Metallic Specialty Paper cattails. I used scissors to cut off the tops of the metallic die cuts – and used Liquid Glue to adhere them to the tops of the Old Olive die cuts,
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered one cattail to the card front.
I tied a simple bow from two lengths of Linen Thread and adhered it with a little Liquid Glue. Don’t be hesitant to add a bow to a card for guys, y’all! 😉
Then I added the sentiment with double-stacked Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added the second cattail with Liquid Glue – and slid another Mini Black Stampin’ Dimensional under the base to give it a little support – and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped the two grass images from Relaxing Waterside in the corner of a Basic White panel. I stamped the larger image in Old Olive and the small one in Mossy Meadow ink.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Misty Moonlight card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Relaxing Waterside grasses on the front…
…and more of the Waterside Retreat DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Well – I do love this whole suite – the colors and designs and scenes in the Waterside Retreat DSP are so beautiful – they really bring you right to the edge of the lake! Pair it up with the Relaxing Waterside bundle – this card barely scratched the surface of all the goodness in this bundle – and you’ve got a real powerhouse working for you!
