Stampin’ Up! Calming Video Tutorial Sneak Peek

Good morning and welcome to another weekend!  Have you got something fun planned?  As I type this on Friday evening, it’s all sleety and nasty outside so… our plans will be highly influenced by what it looks like today.  Supposed to be COLD COLD COLD so…INSIDE sounds pretty good!

Which…makes it darned handy that my craft room actually IS inside, right??  And that’s where I’ll be tonight at 7pm Eastern over on my Stamps-N-Lingers FB page.  I’ve got a cool coloring technique to share with you!  Here’s a sneaky peek!

Huh.  As I stuck that in I realized…not even sorta sneaky! ROFL!  Oh well – there’s like 80% more card that you CAN’T see, so…I hope you’ll join me to get the whole picture! 😉

Tonight.  7pm Eastern.  Right here.

Good morning, ya’ll – I’ll be back in a just a little bit with a sneaky peek at tonight’s Facebook Live card – but…I wanted to give you first shot at the next Stamp-N-Storage – sale!

STAMP-N-STORAGE SALE THRU 24 JAN 2022!

It’s WEEK 4 of the Stamp-N-Storage 8 Weeks to an Organized Craft Space challenge.  And – to help you on your journey to an organized craft space, this week they’re offering a 10% OFF sale on all Ribbon Holders, Ribbon Shelves, Drawer Cabinets and drawer accessories to help you organize those embellishments!  For your savings add coupon code 8WEEKS4 during the checkout process.

Sale ends at midnight CST, January 24, 2022 – and it’s on some of my most used favorites!  I keep all my 12″ x 12″ DSP in the Drawer Cabinets – I have three of them with 10 drawers each.  Add in the 12×12 Paper Sleeves and… you’ve got a winner!

See ’em right there…under the C-5 airplane model?  Back in the corner.  Okay – you can’t SEE the sleeves inside the drawers but…they’re there.  I promise! 😉

So…what else do I use?  I use the 6″ x 7″ Magnetic Cards (there are other sizes – but this is my fave!) to store my dies – neatly tucked inside Storage Pockets!

Dies, Stamps and Emboss Folders Storage

Storage Pockets

Holds Magnet cards (5″ x 7″ or 6″ x 7″), Stamp Cards, and even Embellishments!

I keep them all in alphabetical order inside my Creative Crates! Tip:  I ALSO keep my embellishments in Storage Pockets in their own Creative Crate! 😉

Creative Crate

Holds your Storage Pockets perfectly!

My very first SNS addition was my Combo Holder – it holds my Ink Pads, Re-inkers and Stampin’ Write Markers! I love it so much I’ve even put it in the car and traveled with it! 😳

ALL my paper resides in Stamp-N-Storage components! 🙂

Like…the 8 1/2″ x 11″ Paper Holder

…the 12″ x 12″ Paper Holder

…or my Drawer Cabinets!

And I use Paper Sleeves – in 8 1/2″ x 11″ and 12″ x 12″ and the small 6″ x 6″ sleeves! – to hold all my cardstock scraps!

Paper Sleeve

LOVE your Stampin’ Blends!?  Check out the cool Blending Brush Stand!

And we all need a spot to corral all those extra tools, right?  Take a gander at the Desk Caddy (I have the large one and LOVE it!)

I recently picked up a couple of Multi-Level Card Holders!

Now all my completed-and-ready-to-send-to-customers cards are all organized and staying pretty!

…and I got some Card Dividers to keep them all in their proper place!!

And – since I have so many of the Creative Crates for all my Die Sets…I ALSO use the Crate Dividers!

Paper.  Inks.  Markers.  We all have them – and we all need them handy and organized and staying ready-to-go!  And, for me – Stamp-N-Storage is the best and highest quality there is!

Stampin’ Up! Flowering Tulips Special Moments Birthday Fun Fold with Video Tutorial

Well – see?  It did it again.  Just a heartbeat ago I was telling Sonya and her granddaughter…see you next week.

BLINK!

And here it’s Friday again.  What in the world?!? 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

But since it’s Friday that means that yesterday some of you joined me for my YouTube live – and if that was you – then I appreciate you spending part of your week with me!  If not – but you’d like to see the replay  – here ’tis!

I’d had a request for a video showing how the Flowering Tulips 2-step stamps go together so…that’s what I did with this super easy fun fold card!  This fun fold is PERFECT for showing off our beautiful designer paper and I really let the Flowering Fields DSP loose on all the many panels available to decorate.  Take a look-see:

I’m always needing birthday cards so – it was easy to play along with the Watercooler Wednesday challenge this week!

This card is basically a little-card-on-a-bigger card.  🙂

The larger base card is a 5 1/2″ x 10 1/8″ piece of Early Espresso, scored and folded at 4 1/8″ and 8 3/8″ on the long side.

I used two designs of paper from the beautiful Flowering Fields DSP – one flower strewn (I’m calling it Design #1) and a softer design (call it Design #2) that happens to be the reverse side of the Design #1 paper!

I matted a piece of Design #1 on an Evening Evergreen mat and adhered it to the larger side of the card base with Liquid Glue.  Then I did the same with a strip of Design #2 on the smaller panel (on the right side in the picture above).

On the inside, I matted a piece of Design #2 on Evening Evergreen for the inside of the large panel – and for the inside of the narrow strip.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped a sentiment from the Flowering Tulips stamp set in Soft Suede ink.  In the corner, I stamped three tulips.  Tip: there are three flowers in this set.  Each flower is a two-step image – meaning you stamp one image and then stamp a second image over the top.  When doing two step images like this – it’s VERY helpful to stamp your DARKEST color first – and then fill with the lighter color.  It makes it MUCH easier to line everything up! 🙂

The stamps on the left are the first step (for me) and those on the right are the second – or “fill” – images.

On my piece of Basic White, I stamped the largest Flowering Tulips flower (#1) in full strength Bumblebee ink using the first step stamp.  Then I filled it in with the second stamp in stamped off once Bumblebee.  Then I stamped the medium flower – with Calypso Coral for the first image and Petal Pink for the fill.  The smallest flower is once again in full strength Bumblebee followed by stamped off once Bumblebee.

I added some stems and leaves in Soft Succulent – and a little flower center in Soft Suede on the largest flower.

Next up is the small card on the front.

It started with a 3 1/4″ x 7″ piece of Early Espresso, scored and folded in half at 3 1/2″.

For the front of the little card, I stamped the same three Flowering Tulips flowers as I did on the inside of the large card.

I stamped a Flowering Tulips sentiment in Soft Suede on Basic White and cut it out with the next-to-largest skinny Stitched Rectangle Die.  I popped it onto the panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I matted the panel on Evening Evergreen and then to the front of the small card base with Liquid Glue.

On a second piece of Basic White, I stamped a sentiment from my current go-to sentiment set – the wunnermus Special Moments set (FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a qualifying $100 purchase!) in Early Espresso.  Then I added two of the small flowers (flower #3) in Bumblebee and stamped off once Bumblebee and a few Soft Succulent stems and leaves.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Evening Evergreen mat and into the inside of the small card.  NOTE:  be sure you keep checking your orientation – this part of the card opens “backwards” so…it’s easy to get mixed up! 😉

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the small card to the outside of the larger card – on the narrow strip on the right.

Then I matted a small piece of the Flowering Fields DSP (pattern #1) on Evening Evergreen and adhered it to the visible portion of the back of the small card – as shown above.

Because I love them so much, I pulled out my Brushed Brass Butterflies and…went to town!  I put a few on every single Basic White panel on the card.  Hint: that’s a LOT of butterflies, but…they’re so cute and THIN! and perfect! 🙂

And the butterflies finished off the card!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got another spray of Flowering Tulips on the front…

…and more of the Flowering Fields DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila! I was so happy to get the request to play with this Flowering Tulips set – I hadn’t really taken the time to look at the three images and figure them out – but now that I have – I LOVE them!!  They’re just gorgeous.  And I really love the leaves and little grasses and other elements that let us play “gardener”!  The coordinating Flowering Fields DSP is.  Absolutely.  Stunning!  And I think I’ve already extolled the virtues of the Special Moments set – the free piece is just the icing on the cake! 🙂

If you’d like to recreate this card, all the products and card cuts are listed below!

And…I’ve also created a printable PDF with written instructions and a list of the products used to create this project.  You can download, print and/or save it by clicking this image:

Stampin’ Up! Grassy Grove for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I flipped our sketch because I really had a hankering to use the Grassy Grove Bundle – that big frame die has been calling my name (and I “saw” it as the front of the card as soon as I saw our sketch!).  I put it atop some wintry New Horizons 6″ x 6″ DSP and added a Special Moments sentiment to make a pretty (or handsome – it would work equally well for a guy!) birthday card!  Take a look-see:

And here’s our sketch.

I also played along with the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge!  I went across the top and down the side column!  Winter-Birthday-Blue and Blue-Animal-Free (Sparkle). 🙂

I started by adhering a piece of one of the cool, wintery designs from the New Horizons DSP directly to the front of my Evening Evergreen card base with Liquid Glue.

I cut the large frame die in the Grove Die set out of a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock and again from a slightly smaller piece of Night of Navy Ombre Specialty Paper.  I adhered the sparkly paper right to the card base with Liquid Glue – offsetting it a little so that it would create a sparkly shadow…

…when I popped the Misty Moonlight over top with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Before I added the Misty Moonlight panel, though, I cut a large deer and two babies from Basic Black cardstock, using the dies in the Grove Die set.

I adhered the large deer – and one baby – to the card front over the Ombre paper – using Liquid Glue.

Then I popped the Misty Moonlight panel on with the Black Stampin’ Dimensionals – offsetting it as I mentioned earlier to create a shadow.  I LOVE the depth that this gave the card – and the illusion of a family of deer wandering thru a wintry forest!

I stamped a Special Moments sentiment in Evening Evergreen on more of the same New Horizons DSP design paper – and cut it out with the next-to-smallest skinny die in the Stitched Rectangle Die set. Just a note: Special Moments is a $100-level free product in the Jan – Feb 2022 Sale-a-Bration catalog!  I love this sentiment set.  And I love FREE just as much.  Okay – possibly more! 😉

I also cut a couple of the Grove Die cut leaves – two of the large ones and one small – from Evening Evergreen cardstock.

I adhered the leaves – and the second baby deer – to the popped-up-panel using Liquid Glue.

Next, I used two lengths of black twine from the Essentials Bakers’ Twine pack to tie a simple bow, that I adhered with a Glue Dot.

The sentiment is adhered with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals – stacked to accommodate the bow and the additional depth of the popped-up-panel.  The dimensionals on the left side of the bow is a DOUBLE stack.  The ones to the right are TRIPLE stacks.

Hmmmm – NO clue what happened to the coloring on that picture. 🤔🤔🤔

I added the sentiment and…the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped a second Special Moments sentiment in Evening Evergreen on a Basic White panel.  In the corner, I stamped the pine trees and grassy meadow images in Misty Moonlight.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Misty Moonlight mat and into the Evening Evergreen card base and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the wunnermus Grassy Grove trees and meadow in the Misty Moonlight on the front…

…and more of the New Horizons DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Seriously.  How much do you love this Grassy Grove stamp set – and the amazingly gorgeous Grove Dies??!  I love the deer – and the forest-frame.  And the pine trees and meadows images.  The sentiments are wonderful, too – but if you need a DIFFERENT sentiment, be SURE to check out (and GET!) the Special Moments stamp set (get it QUICK – it’ll be gone on 29 Feb.  😉 ).  New Horizons DSP – at first I wasn’t sure about it – but now…man-oh-man. I love  it – and just ordered TWO more packs!!

I hope you like!

If you’d like to recreate this card, all the products and card cuts you’ll need are down below!

Stampin’ Up! Happy Hedgehogs Sunshine & Rainbows

Happy Happy Hawwwmp DAY!!  The week is marching on – and I’ll be marking mid-week with a trip to the dentist for a crown prep!

Yes.  I know.  You’re envious, right?  Hard not to be, really!  Not everyone can be lucky like that, though – sorry!  😉

My card today is so bright and cheery and features a hedgehog.  Yes.  It’s a Happy Hedgehog.  And he’s happy cuz he has a bundled PUNCH! 😉  I figured I’d use another happy-inducing  product – and added some Sunshine & Rainbows DSP.  Know why THAT is “happy-inducing”?  Cuz…you can get it for FREE right now during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 purchase (before shipping & tax).  Free stuff ALWAYS makes me happy.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is based on the sketch at the Global Design Project this week.

I started by adhering a piece of Granny Apple Green paper from the FREE Sunshine & Rainbows DSP to a So Saffron mat using Liquid Glue for the card front.

I cut a circle from a piece of Basic White cardstock using a Layering Circles Die – diameter of the circle is 2 5/8″.  Then I placed a square of So Saffron Sunshine & Rainbows DSP in my Stamparatus and stuck the circle on top of it – using a little repositionable tape runner to hold the die cut in place temporarily (a little tiny bit of Stampin’ Seal would also work if you don’t have repositionable tape handy).

I stamped the flower from Happy Hedgehogs in Granny Apple Green ink.  Then I picked up the circle and stamped the square again.  This took care of the weird little “gap” in the image between the die cut and the DSP.  I matted the square on So Saffron using Liquid Glue.

I used my Light Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends to color the flowers and leaves.

Using Glue Dots to secure it in the back, I ran a length of Bumblebee 1/4″ Gingham Ribbon around the matted panel.

I popped the circle back into place – lining up the stamped image – using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from Happy Hedgehogs, was stamped in Polished Pink on a strip of Basic White.  I snipped a banner end and adhered the strip to the die cut circle with Liquid Glue.

I cut out a hedgehog “body” from Crumb Cake cardstock using the bundled Hedgehog Builder Punch.  I also cut out the second shape – which is the “back” of the hedgehog.

I embossed the “back” shape in the leafy Greenery Embossing Folder – then brushed Crumb Cake ink over the raised portions using a Sponge Dauber.  I also lightly sponged the second piece that I had punched (the body).  Note: don’t be all impressed – I totally CASEd this idea from the sample in the Jan – Jun 2022 Mini Catalog – thanks SU! 🙂

I adhered the embossed back piece to the little body with Liquid Glue.  Then I added his face with an Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker – with cheeks from a Calypso Coral Watercolor Pencil.  Then I adhered him to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I tied a little bow from the ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the little butterfly from Happy Hedgehogs in Crumb Cake ink.  I colored him with my Light So Saffron and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends – with a little help from the Calypso Coral Watercolor Pencil.  Then I fussy cut him and popped him onto the card front with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

I colored a Rhinestone Basic Jewel with the Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend and adhered it to the sentiment – and the card front was done. 🙂

On the inside, I stamped a second Happy Hedgehogs sentiment in Polished Pink on a Basic White panel.  I added the little butterfly and flower in Crumb Cake and Granny Apple Green – coloring everything as I’d done on the front.  I added a single Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend-colored Rhinestone Basic Jewel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a So Saffron mat and into my Polished Pink card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Happy Hedgehogs flowers and butterfly on the front…

…and more of the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I dare you not to smile when you see these adorable little Happy Hedgehogs – and their butterfly and bird friends in the set!  I know you guys like punches, too – and this one is really fun!  I loved being able to make him a two-parter!  And – there’s no denying that Sunshine & Rainbows DSP is so cheerful and bright and pretty – you have to love it!  Oh.  And it’s… FREE!!

If you’d like to recreate this card, all the products and card cuts are listed below!

And…I’ve also created a printable PDF with written instructions and a list of the products used to create this project.  You can download, print and/or save it by clicking this image:

Stampin’ Up! Light the Candles Birthday Kit and…My Retired Products Store is OPEN!

Happy Tuesday!  I’ve got some big news for you – it’s THAT TIME OF YEAR.  Yes, the time of year when I FINALLY get with the out-with-the-old program.

A well organized person would probably do out-with-the-old and THEN in-with-the-new, but…as you guys totally know…I did it bassakwards!

But – I’m remedying that starting RIGHT NOW!  I’ve updated my Retired Products Shop with goodies from the Jul – Dec 2021 Mini Catalog and the Aug – Sep 2021 Sale-a-Bration!  Get on over and grab your faves before they’re gone! 🙂

I know you’ve heard about our amazing kits – and I’ve got a fun one to share with you today.  If you need birthday cards, the Light the Candles Birthday Card Kit is a really good choice for you!

Like all our kits, this one will arrive in a good, sturdy box that you can use to store your completed cards or…for anything else!  How many of you keep “good boxes” cuz…”good boxes” are hard to come by??

Just me?  No…I don’t believe that! 😉

When you open the box you’re going to find good instructions on how to put the kit together and ALL the products that you need do that!  Including a Coastal Cabana ink spot, a cute stamp set and an acrylic block!

Note: the box – the all-inclusivity-ness of the kit…means that it would be a really cool thing to have to toss in a suitcase and take with you on a vacation or business trip! 🤔🤔🤔

You’ll be able to put together eight cute cards in about 30 minutes!

One of the designs has a whole row of candles – complete with gold glittery dots to put in the middle of the little candle flames!  And…can I point out the cute LINED envelope! #nonekkidenvelopes….all done for you! 😉

The second design rocks a fun and sparkly slice of triple-layer cake (would that it was so easy to make a REAL triple layer cake – am I right!) – again with gold glittery dots and decorated envelope!

The stamp set has sentiments and some images that are great to use on the inside of your card, too!  Stamp them in Coastal Cabana – or you can pull out a Bumblebee (or ANY yelllow/orange) ink pad and use that!

This is a super cute set – all ready to knock out eight adorable birthday cards!

Here’s the Deets:

  • Kit contains enough supplies to create 8 cards—4 each of 2 designs—and 8 coordinating envelopes.
  • Includes printed card bases, printed die cuts, adhesive, embellishments, and a clear block.
  • Includes an exclusive stamp set and a Coastal Cabana Classic Stampin’ Spot.
  • Finished card size: 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″

Stampin’ Up! Seas The Day with Special Moments Birthday with Video Tutorial

Well – here we are on Sunday – I’m looking out the window at…not snow.  Not ice.  Not…nuthin’.  Heck – it’s not even all that cold.  Guess the brine all over the road yesterday when we went out – no, we really DID need food, we were NOT “prepping”.  No toilet paper came home with us.  Okay – a LOT of milk came home but…it’s for our yoghurt, okay?!?

Anyway – as I was saying before you gave me the “really, Mary – PREPPING for the storm like eveyr other snowpocalypsaggedon fearmonger in Atlanta” look – guess that brine was a Just In Case thing! 😉

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live – I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me. 🙂  If not – and you’d like to have a peek at the replay – here ’tis on YouTube!
