Stampin’ Up! Online Host Club Openings, Year End Clearance and….Blog Candy!

Stampin’ Up! An Ugly Christmas Stockings Sweater!

Mornin’, folks! Well – I’m in Utah. And it snowed. And I drove from the airport across a mountain pass that was way snowier than I’d planned. Especially since I’d called the front desk of my hotel and the receptionist (who lives here!!) recommended the mountain route versus the flatland route. Some nonsense about the county taking better care of the mountain route.

Right. I think not. My little rental Nissan Rogue held its own, though and I called on snow driving skills I haven’t exercised for years (and drove waaaaay slow!) – and we made it thru just fine.

Pretty sure I’ll go back the other way on the weekend! 🙂

Mr. Finn didn’t have a very good day. His mom wasn’t there when he got home and they told him/us he can’t do anything but leash walks for 5 days! That’s gonna be tough on a little Aussie kid. AND – they put a collar thingy on him so he can’t lick the offending part of him. 🙁 Hopefully the pain med will work and he’ll be able to sleep. I know his little wiggle-butt is whooped!

Now. About today’s card. Before you look at it, know that it was deliberate! Our upline, Amy Koender, issued a challenge to us to make an Ugly Christmas sweater card. We took it to heart. I used the plaids from Warmth and Cheer and some deliberately non-coordinating colors with some Christmas Stocking thinlits to make….this. I don’t know if I’ll win the contest, but take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Totally Trees and Starlight Peace

Hey, y’all. By the time you read this, I’ll be at the airport. Or even already in Utah, depending on your schedule. As I wrote this on Sunday evening, I’m as close to being ready to go as I can get until the clothes come out of the dryer. And I’m stressing like crazy!

Not so much because of the trip, although it’s becoming more and more stressful for me. Nope. I’m worrying cuz…tomorrow….Mr. Finn-Chewie goes to be Tutored. Wink.

The worst part is that in the morning he won’t get his run, won’t get any breakfast and won’t get the huge drink of water he always has first thing. And I can’t even tell him why. And when he comes home I won’t even be here. And he won’t know why. Or if I’ll be back. Worst part of having a velcro dog is that it makes such a horrible rip when you leave them.

Okay. That’s it. No more maudlin crap. Finn, in the way of puppies, knows of nothing amiss – so I’m not going to be a big ole sissy-la-la-wussy face. Dogs get tutored every day and they get over it. So I will, too.

We’ve been hooking his leash under the leg of the recliner (if he pulls that, then I’m buying a cart and we’re going to compete!). So he lays on the living room, looking longingly at the cat bowls – knowing there’s a few little kernels left in them, and playing with his rope toy. Until he falls asleep….

Yes – he’s sound asleep holding the rope toy in his mouth. Seriously and ridiculously cute. 🙂

So I’ve been making all my cards for this next week and the one I made today is one of my favorites. It’s Black and Metallic. Stampin’ Up! Flurry of Wishes Z-Box Fold Christmas Card

Welcome, y’all! Well – it’s Sunday, the four-day weekend is drawing to a close, and I have to go to Utah tomorrow. Not for a Stampin’ Up! convention, either. For work! And, of course, it’s fixin’ to snow there. I. Can. Hardly. Wait. 🙁 I’ll be there for a week. Bleh.

So, have I mentioned that Finn feels he should probably be a lap dog? Well – he does.

Who’s gonna say “no” to that face?!? Obviously not me! Maybe his dad.

Maybe Katy…

I believe her opinion is pretty clear…. 🙂

My card for today uses the fun Flurry of Wishes stamp set and the Snow Flurry Punch. Stampin’ Up! Presents & Pinecones Gift Box

Happy Saturday, y’all – I’m hoping you’re in the middle of a four-day weekend like I am! And that you’re recovering from the excess of Thanksgiving dinner. It’s always a little amazing when I’m actually hungry the next morning!

So….does anyone out there speak “cat”? I mean…like…fluently? I need someone to tell my little goofy cats that they need to turn around and bow up and fluff their tails and stare…the….puppy…down. Instead of running from him. He doesn’t chase things that don’t run. And – if they’d act all menacing, he’ll slink away with his little wiggle-wagger tucked under as far as he can get it to tuck!

I’ve watched him do it with my friend’s beast of a cat.

But no.

They run.

On second thought…that may be their plan. They get a little gallop and romp and the puppy gets scolded and put in the kennel or on his leash. A twofer! I have noticed that Katy in particular is back in the living room strolling around right by his kennel pretty quickly after “an event”!

Hmmmm. 😉

My share today isn’t a card. It’s a card holder! I used some Presents & Pinecones DSP and some Pretty Pines and a little bit of Jar of Cheer to make a box for my mom. Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Merry Mice Hang Their Christmas Stockings

Good Day-After-Thanksgiving or….Black Friday. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m writing this on Thursday evening from the depths of a food coma. I am not sure what happened this year. I mean, yea – we’ve always got enough food to feed a small Army, for sure. And we’re all stuffed when “it’s over”. But this year.

This year we’re in some serious food pain. Stuffed beyond stuffed. Embarrassingly so!

Our problem, if there is one, is that there’s three of us cooking. And when we set our menu, we all three have the things we always bring. Which, if it’s the same every time, makes it a little hard to understand why this year…..we’re so full?? But we are.

Finn isn’t. For Finn, Thanksgiving meant playing with 5 other dogs for a few hours. He staggered into the house, ate half his dinner, and crashed.

Flat out. He’s a tired puppy.

Which is a good puppy!

Now, as for today’s card. Since this is the day after Thanksgiving, in my house that usually means it’s time to decorate for Christmas! Stampin’ Up! Joyful Nativity Super Simple Single Stamp Set Christmas Card!

Happy Hawmp Day, y’all! Or…as some folks might call it….Happy Thanksgiving Eve! I’m guessing you’re getting your eggs boiled for the Deviled Eggs, the cream cheese softened for the Pumpkin Chocolate Cheesecake and the spinach dip. Going to pick up your ham.

Oh wait. That’s what I’m doing today!! 🙂 I know you’re doing your own version of it – so good luck with your preparations!

We, here in Finn-land, had a breakthrough last night. For the first time since he came to live with us, Finn-Chewie spent the evening with us in the living room (as usual), out of the kennel and off-leash (the breakthrough)!! And, he relaxed on the floor while Katy slept in my lap. Leo even walked past him – like within 6 inches of his nose. This is huge, folks! 🙂

I’ve been so focused on using the stamp sets and bundles from the 2016 Holiday Catalog, and showing you projects made with goodies on the Online Extravaganza list, and….giving sneak peeks from the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs, that I’ve kind of neglected the Annual Catalog. So I remedied that today. We’ve got a lovely new stamp set called Joyful Nativity and I used it today to make a very very clean and simple card. It’s actually so clean that…it sort of terrified me to make it. You’ll see why. Take a look-see:

Wanted to share a quick little picture of Finn-Chewie.

This is what an-almost-6-month-old Aussie does when you take him in the bathroom with you while you take a bath. Easiest way to keep track of His Busy-ness without putting him in the kennel. He really didn’t think this was a “normal” activity. He did, however, avail himself of a little tiny taste of the water. And then I think he decided….”well, I guess I’ve been ~~abducted~~ adopted by a goofy-woman, so I might as well just chill and wait to see what she comes up with next!” 🙂

He’s developing into a nice little “go-with-the-flow” kind of guy – and that’s a heck of a trait for a little dog! One of my favorite traits, actually! 🙂
