Stampin’ Up! Beautifully Braided Video Sneak Peek

Happy Weekend!  And…happy leap day!

So – here’s my question.  If you were born on this day….do you do birthdays EVERY year or just every four years?  And if you do every year – when?  If you only do every four years – are you a quarter as old as the rest of us?  Like….a dog year is seven human years….is a leap birthday year like four regular birthdays??

Yikes – it’s like time travel – easy to get me all bamboozled!  However it works – if you were born on 29 Feb – Happy Birthday!

I am going to celebrate Leap Year Day with a card. I know!  Cray Cray!!

I’m going to go live tonight at 7pm Eastern on my Stamps-N-Lingers FB page.  We’re going to make a cool card using the Beautifully Braided stamp set.  Take a sneaky peek.

It’s a cool card (she says modestly), so…I hope you can join me!

Tonight.  7pm Eastern.  Right here!

Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical Oasis “W” Fun-Fold Birthday Card

Good Friday morning, y’all!!  Been a heck of a week and I, for one, am not at all sad to see it fade away. 😉  Hopefully YOUR week has been good and your weekend is looking to be a good one.

If you were able to join me for my YouTube Live Video yesterday –  I appreciate you spending some of your day with me!  If not, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

I saw this fun-fold the other day on my teammate Karen Finkle’s blog and I watched the video over on Cindy Brumbaugh’s Cindy LeeBee Designs blog to see how to put it together.  Then, I made one using the Tropical Oasis DSP and the Timeless Tropical bundle.  Take a look-see:

The front of this fun-fold card was inspired by the sketch challenge over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.

And it fits perfectly with the Watercooler Wednesday All About Occasions challenge!

The card I made in the video is the exact same layout – but I changed up the card base (and “w” mechanism) to use Terracotta Tile – versus the Shaded Spruce in this post.  Check out how they look next to each other.

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Shaded Spruce (or Terracotta Tile for the second card), scored and folded at 5 1/2″.  For the card front, I matted a piece of the Tropical Oasis DSP on Petal Pink and adhered it to the front of the card base with Liquid Glue.

I pulled out my Jubilee Beauty die set and cut the ornate rectangle from Petal Pink, then adhered it to the left side of the card front with Liquid Glue.  Then I laid my ribbon across the card so that I’d know where to place my decorations.  This card uses Granny Apple Green 1/2″ Textured Weave Ribbon.  The second card (video) uses the linen ribbon in the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack.

Using the dies in the In The Tropics set, I cut a “pineapple” top from Granny Apple Green card stock.  With a Sponge Dauber, I added a little Shaded Spruce ink to the pineapple frond.  I spritzed the card stock with water using my Stampin’ Spritzer and cut three “palm leaves”.

For this card, I stamped the two flower images in Terracotta Tile on Petal Pink.  I cut them with the dies in the In The Tropics set and lightly colored the center with my Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend Marker.  The second card is similar – with the flowers stamped in Petal Pink on Whisper White and colored lightly with the same Dark Daffodil Delight Blend.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the palm leaves and the small flower with Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered the pineapple frond to the back of the larger flower with Liquid Glue – then placed Stampin’ Dimensionals at the top and bottom (creating a “channel” for my ribbon to slide thru).

I cut two of the “aloha” sentiments from Shaded Spruce (or Terracotta Tile) and stacked them together with Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered it to the large flower.

I added a few green gems from the Noble Peacock Rhinestones Pack and the card front was done.

For the inside, I adhered two pieces of the Tropical Oasis DSP on the inside panels.

The mechanism for the “W”  (or the “M”) fold – depending on your perspective…

…is a 1 3/4″ x 11″ piece of the same color card stock as the card base.  I scored and folded it at 2 3/4″, 5 1/2″ and 8 1/4″ – then used Liquid Glue on just the end panels – to adhere it into the card base.

I cut four Petal Pink mats, plus two Whisper White and two DSP squares.  I added two of the Timeless Tropical sentiments in Terracotta Tile on the Whisper White squares.

After adhering the pieces to their mats with Liquid Glue, I adhered them to the mechanism panels.  NOTE:  the two end panels can have adhesive all over the back.  For the two middle pieces (on the panels that move when the card opens and closes), you’ll want to put your adhesive on the MECHANISM, not on the back of the matted square.  Trust me on this! 😉

Once all the panels are in place – here’s how the inside looks!

Close the card and tie the ribbon around it in a pretty bow and…the card is done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a Terracotta Tile small flower on the front – I covered it with a sticky note mask and added two Shaded Spruce leaves…

…and more of the Tropical Oasis DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Regardless of whether this looks like a “W” or an “M” fold to you – to me it just looks fun!  And it is!  Especially when it’s done with the uber-gorgeous Tropical Oasis DSP!  With Timeless Tropical-stamped and In The Tropics-die cut flowers and leaves…it’s a tropical vacation in a card!

I hope you like!  And…will be making a W or M of your own soon! 🙂

If you want to recreate this card – all the Stampin’ Up! products you need are listed down below along with the card cuts!

Stampin’ Up! Thanks for the Laughs My Meadow for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a sketch challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

Now – y’all know (I think?) that I love the angled-panel design element on a card.  So – I was tickled when I saw our challenge this week.  I combined some Lily Impressions DSP and the My Meadow and Thanks for the Laughs stamp sets to create my project for you today.  Take a look-see:

And here’s our sketch!

I started with a piece of Gray Granite card stock that I embossed in the Stone 3D Embossing Folder (which is bundled with the Power of Hope stamp set – and you can get it for FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a $100 purchase!).  I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the front of my Gray Granite card base.

I used the largest Stitched So Sweetly rectangle die to cut some Gorgeous Grape paper from the Lily Impressions DSP, which I adhered with Liquid Glue at an angle onto the card front.

For the art panel – I cut the same size rectangle from Whisper White.  Then I built my little scene using the wonderful My Meadow stamp set – which is photopolymer, so super easy to get images right where you need them! 🙂

I used Balmy Blue to create a stream.  Then, with my Stamparatus, I stamped the bridge in Crumb Cake.  Using my Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Marker – I colored part of the bridge image and stamped it again.

I added trees in Soft Suede and used the leaves image to stamp multiple times in Old Olive and Granny Apple Green.  I also added hillsides on either side of the bridge in Granny Apple Green.

Some Granny Apple Green grass with Gorgeous Grape flowers run across the bottom of the panel.  The clouds – another image from the set – are stamped in stamped-off-once Balmy Blue.

I popped the completed scene panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used some SNAIL to adhere a length of Granny Apple Green 1/2″ Textured Weave Ribbon.

For the Thanks for the Laughs sentiment, I used Gorgeous Grape ink to stamp it on Whisper White.  A Granny Apple Green and Gorgeous Grape flower adds a little oomph.

I cut the sentiment with a Stitched Rectangle Die and popped it on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  A green Noble Peacock Rhinestone finished the sentiment and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second Thanks for the Laughs sentiment in Gorgeous Grape.  Some more trees in Soft Suede, Granny Apple Green and Old Olive in the corner, plus some flowers brought it all home.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere another angled piece of Lily Impressions DSP to the inside of my card front, then added the sentiment panel over that – and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more trees on the front….

…and more of the Gorgeous Grape Lily Impressions DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  My Meadow is one of the fun scene-builder stamp sets that Stampin’ Up! offers!

Since it’s an image-only set,  the sky’s the limit on what sentiments you add to make your card perfect for its intended use!  And – speaking of sentiments – the Thanks for the Laughs set is so much fun – with witty sentiments and serious sentiments.  Perfect!

I hope you like!

Tuesday was like a Monday for me.

I went to the doctor cuz my knuckle on my hand had been hurting for a while.  Thought I’d whacked it on the treadmill – exercise…it’ll getcha!  But – when it just kept hurting to the point I was annoyed with it…to the doc.

And she told me that she suspects I have…wait for it…gout.

What.  The.  HECK!?

That was pretty disappointing, not gonna lie.  Felt pretty danged old.  And also?  I have the “rich man’s disease”?  I am SO not rich and hollandaise sauce does NOT go well on cauliflower rice.  Like I said – disappointing! 😉

Got home to….this.

Stampin’ Up! Hugs, Prayers and Love from Positive Thoughts!

Happy National Tortilla Chip Day!

Yep – that’s a real thing!

So…you’re duty bound to go your nearest Mexican food restaurant and eat chips and salsa.  Do it for your country! 😉

With that out of the way, and my public service complete for the day, let’s get on with a card, shall we?  I made a little collage for you (shocking, I know!) using the Positive Thoughts stamp set – and the coordinating Nature’s Thoughts Dies (part of the 2020 Coordination Product Release!).  Take a look-see:

The layout was inspired by this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.

On a piece of Crumb Cake card stock, using my Stamparatus, I stamped the Positive Thoughts sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink.  Then I cut it using the die from Stitched So Sweetly.

I placed a card-front sized piece of Crumb Cake into the Stamparatus and laid the sentiment label in place in the corner.  Then, I stamped the flower from Positive Thoughts in Terracotta Tile.  Then I picked up the label and inked and stamped the image a second time.  I laid the label back down, moved the stamp on the Stamparatus panel – and repeated the process a second time.

I did the same process all over again a couple more times – this time with the leaf image in Mossy Meadow.  I stamped that image twice in each spot without re-inking to help create some more depth.

Then I matted the panel on Terracotta Tile card stock.

I picked up the sentiment label and stamped the feather image in Terracotta Tile a few times without re-inking.

With the dies from the coordinating Nature’s Thoughts die set, I cut some Mossy Meadow and Vellum cardstock leaves.  Using Terracotta Tile cardstock, I spritzed a piece with some water with my Stampin’ Spritzer, then I cut two feathers.  I lightly sponged the edges of the feathers with Terracotta Tile using a Sponge Dauber and curled them slightly.

I laid out all the pieces and parts – including a Linen Thread double-loop bow – and took a picture.

I adhered all the elements – leaves and feathers – with Liquid Glue.  Then I popped the sentiment onto with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I adhered the bow with a Glue Dot….

…added a tiny Terracotta Tile butterfly (yes, cut with a die from the Nature’s Promise die set) and a few Terracotta Tile 2019-2021 In Color Faceted Dots.

And…the card front was done!

On the inside, I used the Stamparatus to add a second sentiment from Positive Thoughts in Mossy Meadow to a Crumb Cake panel.  Over that, I added the flower in stamped-off-once Terracotta Tile ink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Terracotta Tile mat and into my Mossy Meadow card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a few flowers on the front – in Terracotta Tile that I stamped three times without re-inking.

…and I added the leaf image in Mossy Meadow on the back of the envelope.

Et Voila!  Positive Thoughts is one of my very favorite stamp sets in the 2020 Jan – Jun Mini Catalog and I am SO happy to have the matching Nature’s Thoughts Dies!!

…especially that tiny butterfly!  So stinkin’ sweet!!  I hope you like – and will grab these two goodies up quick like the Cadbury Easter bunny! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Word Wishes for a Happy Easter

Monday cometh!  Or….is Here-eth, I suppose is more correct!  Hope you had a great weekend and that your week looks to be a good one!

I made y’all an Easter Card today – do you realize that Easter is only 7 weeks off?  That means it’s time to be thinking about Easter cards.

And pondering the age-old question…why would a bunny (who OBTW….CLUCKS!!) lay an egg??  Even a delicious candy egg with a soft and creamy center.  And – why only at EASTER??

It simply defies logic!

Sorry – back to my card!  I used the pretty Easter Promise stamp set and…the Word Wishes Die set (this is in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog!).  It’s all backed up by the Pleased As Punch DSP (from the 2020 Coordination Product Release).  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I started with a piece of new Pleased As Punch DSP from the 2020 Coordination Product Release) that I matted on Daffodil Delight for the card front.

I cut a smaller piece of Whisper White and, using the pretty image from Easter Promise, stamped the flowers in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

I colored the image with my Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend Combo Pack – plus the Dark Mango Melody Blend for the stamen.

I matted the image on Daffodil Delight and used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the card front.

I made the egg-shell using the Dino Days Die set – cutting it from the same Pleased As Punch DSP that I used on the card front.  And – ready to have your mind blown? 🙂

The egg die in the Dino Dies matches the egg stamp image in the Full of Happiness stamp set!

I popped the egg shell over the stems of the flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the small narrow die in the Stitched Rectangle Dies set, I cut three rectangles from Vellum card stock.  These I adhered to the egg shell with Glue Dots.

Using the Word Wishes Die Set, I cut the words in Daffodil Delight and used Liquid Glue to adhere them to the Vellum rectangles.

Finally, I used the Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend to color three Pearl Basic Jewels then I adhered them to the card front.  And…the card front was done!

On the inside, I matted a second piece of Pleased As Punch DSP on Daffodil Delight and used Liquid Glue to adhere it in my Granny Apple Green card base.  I cut another small piece of Whisper White and stamped a second sentiment from Easter Promise in Granny Apple Green.  I stamped and colored the Easter Promise flower in the corner.  Finally, I adhered a Pearl Basic Jewle that I’d colored with my Dark Daffodil Delight Blend.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Daffodil Delight mat and into the card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Easter Promise flower on the front…

…and more of the Pleased As Punch DSP on the envelope flap.

Et voila!  These beautiful flowers from Easter Promise are so bright and cheerful – and harbingers of hope that Spring – and the promise of Easter! – WILL come!  I love the Word Wishes sentiment die set – it works so well with this (and so many other!) stamp set!

Don’t forget to delve into your Annual Catalog goodies to pair up with the Mini catalog and Sale-a-bration products, okay? And, of course, the pretty Pleased As Punch DSP is so darned versatile!  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Sunday was outside-jobs day.  The one day in a bit where there was no rain AND it got warm enough to be outside without 28 layers of insulated clothes on!

We put hay in the back for the ladies…

Then – cuz this is happening on the kitchen island…

…we realized that it’s time to get busy getting the raised beds ready for planting!

Not only is it time for a dirt refresh – or, more accurately – a Mel’s Mix refresh! – but we’ve decided to add a board and deepen the beds.

I put my best welder on the job!

One down – four to go!

See the difference?

Finn was banned to the carport…

…which he didn’t mind one bit.  He’s not a fan of the loud machines – like the welder.  And he’s not a fan of sparky-fire-y things, either.  Like…the weld!

Which he really REALLY didn’t need to watch!  Trying to treat his weld-burned-eyeballs with potato slices…can’t even imagine!

Also?  They don’t work.

At all.  Guess how I know? 😳😳😳

Stampin’ Up! Label Me a Bold Bee for The Paper Players

I’ve got another fun challenge for you from the Paper Players – it’s a sketch challenge to help jump-start your creative mojo this week!  I hope you’ll come and play along.  🙂

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending some of your weekend with me!  If not, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

I made two different cards this time around – with the Label Me Bold stamp set and some Golden Honey Specialty DSP as the main ingredients for both versions.  Take a look-see:

And here’s this week’s Paper Players theme challenge!  Join the fun and show us your projects!  I can’t wait to see what you create!  🙂

Although I didn’t use the exact colors, I pulled my color scheme from this week’s CAS Colours & Sketches challenge.

And the paper choice comes from the TGIF Product Spotlight Challenge.

And – I also think these have a Masculine Twist, so…they fit right in with the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.

Thanks to some Stampin’ Blends and the gorgeous Golden Honey Specialty DSP – these cards are easy-peasy!

I started with some black and white striped DSP and colored the white stripes with my Light Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.  The middle few stripes are colored with the Dark Daffodil Delight Blend.  TIP:  use long, straight strokes of the brush tip on your Blends.  The color will look better – regardless of which side you use!

I adhered the colored paper to a Basic Black mat for the card front.

For the art, panel – I used the splotch image from the Label Me Bold stamp set – and stamped it three times – the top is stamped-off-once Pumpkin Pie, then stamped-off-once Daffodil Delight.  I finished up with stamped-off-once Old Olive.

Using the stars image in the set, I stamped it three times in Versamark Ink and then sprinkled them with Shimmer Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I heat set the powder with my Heat Tool.  Then I matted the panel on Basic Black.

I stuck a couple of Glue Dots in the middle of the panel and wound a length of black twine from the Country Club Baker’s Twine Combo pack in a figure-eight “bow”.  Then I popped the panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

With a star die in the Stitched Stars Die set, I cut a Vellum cardstock star.

For the sentiment, I stamped two images from Label My Bold in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Whisper White.  I cut them both with a narrow die from the Stitched Rectangle Die set.  I had to manipulate it a little to make it small enough for the sentiment (check it out on the video).

I lined everything up on the card and then adhered the two sentiments to the Vellum star with Liquid Glue.

I added some Dimensionals under the sentiments and then popped the whole thing over my “bow” – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the splotch image again in Old Olive – this time I stamped it off on scrap paper TWICE before adding it to my Whisper White panel.  Over that I added another Label Me Bold sentiment in Tuxedo Black.  I stamped some Tuxedo Black stars next to the sentiment.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a stamped-off-once Old Olive splotch – and some Tuxedo Black stars on the front…

…and more colored Golden Honey Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Label Me Bold stamp set is what I call a “fly-over” set – it’s easy to miss it – or to dismiss it!  Heck – I almost did!  But – I love the simplicity of the sentiments and the ability to use them with various dies – or even quickly fussy cut them.  Adding color here and there is easy with the other grpahic images in the set.  And – how happy are you that the Golden Honey Specialty DSP is BACK IN STOCK – and get-able for FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-bration!

I hope you like!

If you want to recreate this card – all the Stampin’ Up! products you need are listed down below along with the card cuts!

Now – before you reach for your ink and papers, check out what our amazing team has created to inspire you this week:

Finn Fan Fix

The other day, while Wayne and I were eating lunch in the kitchen – as is his usual – Finn ate his breakfast.

Yes.  He saves his breakfast to eat while we’re eating our lunch.  He’s THAT dog.

Anyway – once he was done – he hurried into the living room.

A moment later – here he came.  With his essentially-dead-only-half-of-him-remains bear.

He loves that bear.

He entertained himself for a couple of minutes and then decided we were probably done eating and probably really wanted to play.

Dad?

Mom?

Since he had completely misjudged our level of “doneness” with lunch, he was….disappointed.

Bummer, dude. 🙁

So – today’s FFF is a blatant brag on my oh-so-smart-and-obedient boy. Straight up proud-mama stuff. 😉

A little backstory.  When I clean the stalls each morning – I can usually go three days before I have to run the manure spreader around the pasture – in the winter!!  On Wednesday, even though the weather was pretty okay at that moment (ie: not raining cats and dogs) – I decided to NOT run it.  It was only day 2!

Of course – I KNEW it would be pouring the aforementioned cats-and-dogs on Thursday.  But…I still…didn’t.

On Thursday – as expected – I HAD to run the manure spreader.  And – the dogs – the cats – all coming down.

I just saw a cat AND a dog come down, mom!!

Now, normally the Man goes with me so that he can galloomph around and sniffle and snuffle and splash in every mud puddle he can find.

But – I decided I didn’t want him to be a soaking wet mess. So….in a fit of “maybe I’ll get lucky and he’ll stay put”…I sent him to his mat at the end of the aisle.

And then I started the four-wheeler and hooked up the spreader.

And – he stayed on the mat! 🙂

I headed out and did my thing – glancing back at the barn every three seconds to see if he was standing at the gate in the pouring down cats-and-dogs.

But…when I pulled back into the barn…

…there he was.  Right.  Where.  I.  Told him to stay! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Folks – that was a long-distance, out-of-sight, with a HUGE attraction (the four wheeler) down/stay!

I mean…SERIOUS props to my wiggle-butt!!

I gave him an extra peppermint!  He TOTALLY earned that!

Now – it turns out that ‘bedience is EXHAUSTING!!

Next picture is gratuitous cuteness overload!

You’re welcome! 😉

Smart and cute all wrapped up in one furry package?  I am a lucky mom!

Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Parisian Poppies Double Flip Fun Fold!

Good Friday morning, y’all!!  Another week – done!   Did it feel shorter (and hence…better!) with the Monday holiday??

If you were able to join me for my YouTube Live Video yesterday –  I appreciate you spending some of your day with me!  If not, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

I saw this Double Flip-Fold card on France Martin’s blog and thought it was so fun and easy….which it totally is!  I decided to use the Peaceful Moments Bundle and Painted Poppy stamp set – combined with gorgeous Parisian Blossom Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

The front of the card was already close to the FUSION sketch challenge this week – I simply modified the position of the flip portion (sliding it to the rigth instead of centered like a “normal” double-flip).  That gave me more room to collagify!

I started with the “first” card base – Basic Black at 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ and scored and folded it at 5 1/2″.  The “Flip” is Basic Black, 3″ x 8 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″.

I used the gorgeous Parisian Blossoms Specialty DSP on the front short panel of the first card base and on the inside back – both pieces are matted on Pool Party and adhered with Liquid Glue.

On the flip card base, I used my Stamparatus to stamp the sentiments from Peaceful Moments in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on two Whisper White panels.  On the inside panel, I also stamped two of the flowers from the Painted Poppies stamp set in Basic Gray – then I colored them with my Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends Combo.   I matted each on Pool Party and adhered them inside the smaller flip card base.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the small card inside the larger card base.

For my collage, I used multiple dies from the Poppy Moments Die set to cut my flower and a bevy of leaf parts.  The flower has a solid piece of Petal Pink (I used a Sponge Dauber to ink the edges with Petal Pink ink) then I adhered a Basic Gray detailed flower with Liquid Glue. I cut a large flower center from Champagne Foil and adhered it with Liquid Glue, then I popped a smaller Black Foil center on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the leaves, I cut solid and detailed leaves in Pool Party and Champagne Foil, and also in Pool Party vellum from the So Very Vellum Specialty DSP (coming on 3 March in the second Sale-A-Bration Release!).  I glued the leaf parts together and then…started doing my dry-fit on the front of the card (which is the front of the smaller flip card base!

When I was happy – I took a picture with my phone…

Then I picked up the flower and took a second picture.

I adhered all the leaves with Liquid Glue.

Using Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine, I made a loose double-loop figure-eight (I show this in the video!) and stuck it in the middle of the leaves with a couple of Glue Dots.  Then I popped the flower over top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewel – and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Painted Poppies flower in Basic Gray and Petal Pink on the front…

…and a little more Parisian Blossoms Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This Double-Flip Fun Fold is crazy easy so I hope you’ll try it soon!  I also wanted you to see how well the Peaceful Moments and Painted Poppies Bundles work with other papers like this Parisian Blossoms Specialty DSP!  The Peaceful Poppies DSP is gorgeous but…don’t be afraid to mix-and-match!  I hope you like! 🙂

On Wednesday, we picked up a new toilet.

Yes – the life of a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is glamourous, indeed.

We’ve needed a new toilet for a minute – in our second bathroom.

By minute, I mean…well.  A MINUTE!

FINALLY broke down and paid for a “special order” toilet.  Meaning – we wanted it in bone.  Seriously?!?  BONE is a “special order”?!?

Why yes.  Yes it is.

Anywho – we finally got it.

So the menfolk put it in on Wednesday evening.

Gettin’ that old one out’s gonna be a booger, Dad.  You’re prolly gonna get wet!

Wiggle it, Dad – you gotta get it down on that wax thingy!

Doya need a tool or anything??  I’m a little thirsty…..how much longer were ya thinkin’??

Hmmm.  Those’r some complicated directions.  Why we reading directions??  We MEN!  Don’t need no stinkin’ directions!

Mary’s note:  that last picture is probably Pulitzer worthy.  Rare sighting of y-chromosomes reading instructions!

Stampin’ Up! All Dressed to Impress For the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a color challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

When I saw the color challenge – I right away thought of the Best Dressed 6″ x 6″ DSP.  And, of course, the coordinating Dressed to Impress stamp set and bundled All Dressed Up Die set.  I ended up not using as much of the DSP as I’d figured, but…well.  Take a look-see:

And – here’s our challenge!

The layout and elements are inspired by Charlet Mallett’s beautiful card at this week’s Global Design Project CASE the Designer challenge!

I started with a piece of Basic Black that I embossed in my Country Floral 3D Embossing Folder and matted on Petal Pink for the card front.

Also from Petal Pink, I cut a single “purse” with the die from the All Dressed Up Die set.  With Paper Snips, I trimmed off all but the large panel.  Then I embossed the die cut piece in the Tufted 3D Embossing Folder.

With the buckle die in the All Dressed Up Die Set I cut a couple of buckles from a Gold Foil sheet.  I ran the end of some Petal Pink 1/4″ Metallic-Edge Ribbon thru each buckle – and then adhered them to the front of my purse with Glue Dots.

Then I popped the purse onto the embossed card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To get ready to decorate the purse, I cut two Frosted Bouquet “berries” out of Mint Macaron card stock.

On Whisper White, I stamped a bunch of the two different floral images from Dressed To Impress in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I colored them with my Petal Pink, Lovely Lipstick and Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blend Combo Packs – and cut them with their matching All Dressed Up dies.

I also stamped the sentiment from Dressed To Impress in Lovely Lipstick on Whisper White and cut it with the label die in the set.

To assemble the purse, I first adhered a Petal Pink Best Dressed Tassel on one buckle with a Glue Dot.  Then I started adhering the berries and flowers with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The sentiment is popped on with Dimensionals.

I finished off the card front with Champagne Rhinestones in the middle of each flower – and a small bow from Mint Macaron 1/8″ Sheer Linen Ribbon, adhered with a Glue Dot.

On the inside, I added more Dressed To Impress flowers in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a Whisper White panel.  Around the flowers, I stamped some dots from the set in Mint Macaron.  Finally, I colored the flowers with my Blends and gave them a Champagne Rhinestone.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Petal Pink mat and into my Lovely Lipstick card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Dressed To Impress flowers and dots on the front (no Rhinestones!)….

….and (finally!) some of the gorgeous Best Dressed 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et voila!  What a fun and flirty purse for Mother’s Day – and still a “card”!  Love the Dressed To Impress stamp set and the versatility of the bundled all Dressed Up Dies!

And – of course! – the uber-gorgeous Best Dressed DSP!  I hope you like – and will have it in your arsenal soon if you don’t already!
