Stampin’ Up! Color & Contour Days to Remember Sneak Peek with Video Tutorial

Morning, y’all – happy Friday!  We’re headed into another weekend – yeah!

If you were able to join me yesterday for my YouTube live, I appreciate you spending part of your day with me.  If not, but you’d like to check it out, here’s the replay on YouTube! 🙂

So I used a stamp set that looks like it would be complicated and confusing if you just look at it in the catalog.  The Days to Remember set is a genius way to make a calendar for any month of any year!  And I paired it with the super pretty Hand-Penned DSP and the Color & Contour stamp set with the wonderful, bundled Scalloped Contours dies.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by the sketch at this week’s Paper Players challenge.

I started with some pretty floral Hand-Penned DSP and matted it on Misty Moonlight for the card front.  Then I matted a strip of a second design on Misty Moonlight and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the days-of-the-week image from Days to Remember in Misty Moonlight.  I added “May” in Mint Macaron.  Then, in Bumble Bee ink, I stamped the days.  It’s hard to explain how to do that – so…check out the video, okay?  I show that particular piece starting at around 4:30 in. 😉

Then I cut the calendar out with the next-to-largest die in the Scalloped Contours set.

I used the little circle image from the stamp set in Misty Moonlight to highlight the day I wanted to…you know…remember! 😉

Then I stamped the larger sentiment in Misty Moonlight and popped the panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used the two flower images in Color & Contour – stamping them both in Mint Macaron on Basic White.  Then I cut it with the die in the Scalloped Contours set.

You can see how I’ve used a permanent marker to identify the “top” of the two stamps and the die.  You should be able to add a similar mark to your set – and that’ll make it easy-peasier to line everything up!

I added the flower to the card with some Liquid Glue.

To finish – I used a Glue Dot to adhere a Pale Papaya Loose Flower Flourish to the top of the calender and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Days to Remember sentiment in Misty Moonlight on Basic White.  Then I added the flowers again in Mint Macaron and a single Pale Papaya Genial Gem (coming on 4 May!).

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Misty Moonlight mat and into my Mint Macaron card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got another Color & Contour flower on the front…

…and more of the Hand-Penned DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Y’all – I promise that this stamp – which made me totally scratch my head when I looked at it in the catalog – is not nearly as whoo-whoo sci-fi as it looks.  Although it IS pretty darned genius! Days to Remember can help you make mini calendars – cool scrapbook pages – and amazing cards!  And Color & Contour, with the wunnermus Scalloped Contours die set is…one of my favorite new goodies!

Stampin’ Up! Elegantly Said Sneak Peek for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with today and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I decided to play with the Elegantly Said stamp set for today’s card.  I just got the pretty metallic-foiled Simply Elegant Specialty DSP and made a card with my fave design in the pack!  Take a look-see:

And here’s our hop sketch challenge.

I also played along with the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge.  Went across the middle row.  🙂

I started with a piece of Basic Gray cardstock that I embossed in the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.  Then I used a Blender Brush to very lightly brush the ridges and swirls of the embossed image with Whisper White Kraft Ink.

I matted the panel on Smoky Slate for the card front.  Using Stampin’ Seal – I adhered a Square Vellum Doily.

I cut my fave design from the Simply Elegant Specialty DSP with a Stitched Rectangle Die and adhered it to the card front with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut a piece of Copper Foil with a smaller Stitched Rectangle Die – embossed it in the Painted Texture folder and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using the large foliage die in the Forever Flourishing Die set, I cut a piece of Gold Foil – then adhered the leaves with Liquid Glue.

I tied a small simple bow with the Silver twine from the new Simply Elegant Trim pack and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

I placed a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock into my Stamparatus and, using the Marker-to-Stamp technique – colored and stamped just the first part of the Elegantly Said sentiment with my Basic Gray Stampin’ Write Marker.  Then I cut it with the Rectangle Stitched Die.

I stamped the Elegantly Said floral image in Smoky Slate over top of the sentiment.  Then I used a couple of Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the sentiment onto the card front.

A few silver Metallic Pearls finished it off!

On the inside, I again used my Stamparatus – this time coloring the SECOND half of the sentiment with my Basic Gray Stampin’ Write Marker and stamped it on a Very Vanilla panel.  I added the floral in Smoky Slate and a single silver Metallic Pearl.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Smoky Slate mat and into my Basic Gray card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Elegantly Said floral on the front in Smoky Slate…

…and more of the Simply Elegant Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This truly IS Simply Elegant paper, is it not?  And the gorgeous images and sentiments in the Elegantly Said bundle complement it perfectly!

Stampin’ Up! Hand-Penned Flowers Memories & More Sneak Peek!

Happy Happy Hawwwmp Day!  We’re inching closer to the weekend – closer to the end of the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog AND closer and closer to the NEW 2021-2022 Annual Catalog going live!  Whoo-hoo!! While that’s exciting – be sure to check the Last Chance section in the Online Store – don’t miss out on your favorite retiring goodies! 🙂

Today is all about the new catalog!  I was finally able to pick up the Hand-Penned Memories & More Cards & Envelopes, to go with the Hand-Penned Memories & More Card Pack that I already had.  I added some goodness from the new Hand-Penned Petals stamp set.  Take a look-see:

The layout was loosely inspired by the sketch over at As You See It.

I started with one of the gorgeous – already-decorated-for-you! – Hand-Penned Memories & More Cards & Envelopes.  Then I selected a panel from the Hand-Penned Memories & More Card Pack.  I cut that down some and matted it on Highland Heather using Liquid Glue.

The Memories & More Card Packs include multiple different “stickers” you can use to decorate your cards and projects.  I selected one of the white ones and stamped the Hand-Penned Petals sentiment in Highland Heather.

I tied a small bow from a piece of Pool Party 3/8″ Sheer Ribbon and adhered it to the card front with a Glue Dot.

I used a few double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the sentiment over the top of the bow.

To finish off, I added a Mint Macaron Genial Gem and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the pretty floral from Hand-Penned in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink in the corner of a Basic White panel.  I stamped the large flower once in stamped-off-once Highland Heather.  Then I turned the stamp slightly and stamped it again with full strength Highland Heather.  I stamped the smaller flower once in stamped-off-once Highland Heather.  I added leaves using the stamps in the set, in Mint Macaron.  Then I stuck on another of the Genial Gems, just cuz I could!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Highland Heather mat and into the Hand-Penned Memories & More Card, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

For the front of the Hand-Penned Memories & More Envelope – I stamped the Hand-Penned Petals floral in Tuxedo Black…

…and I didn’t have to do a thing to the pre-decorated envelope flap!

Et Voila!  Well, y’all – I’ll tell you what.  The Hand-Penned Memories & More goodies – be it the Card Pack or the Cards & Envelopes – are simply stunning!  So gorgeous and so perfect to pair with the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set.  But they can also be used all by themselves – there are even sentiments on many of the cards in the pack!

I hope you like!  No…I hope you LOVE it as much as I do! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Quiet Meadow Sneak Peek Triple Panel Card

‘Sup, y’all??  Happy Tuesday!  I hope your week is going well!  Our weather has been…gorgeous!  Warm enough to have the house open all day and night.  Bright sun – the flowers are blooming and I think the strawberries are trying to do their thing!  We planted on Monday and the patio is really starting to be a pretty spot!  And it smells heavenly! 🙂

My card today features its own flowers and is another sneak peek of the Quiet Meadow stamp set – didn’t even need to use the amazing bundled Meadow Dies!  Get this – and the Pansy Petals DSP – just ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!  Whoo-hoo!! Once you have it in hand – I hope you’ll use it to make today’s card. Take a look-see:

The inspiration for this card came from the FUSION challenge this week!

I started with some pretty Pansy Petals DSP in gingham Pale Papaya that I matted on Pale Papaya for the card front.

Next, I cut a narrow panel of Basic White and placed it in my Stamparatus.  I positioned the sweet wildflower image from Quiet Meadow in the Stamparatus and then used the Marker-to-Stamp technique to color the stamp in Poppy Parade and Evening Evergreen using those Stampin’ Write Markers.

I cut the panel into three equal sized panels and adhered them to a Pale Papaya mat.  Hint:  when doing this technique adhere the two end pieces first.  AND – I made the length of the mat an extra 1/8″ longer than usual.

Using the script image in the Quiet Meadow set – I stamped each panel with it in stamped-off-once Pale Papaya.

I adhered the panel to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the Quiet Meadow sentiment in Poppy Parade on Basic White and cut it with the most narrow Stitched Rectangle Die.  I popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using a Glue Dot, I adhered a Pale Papaya Loose Flower Flourish (coming on 4 May!) to the sentiment – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I once again used my Stamparatus to stamp the Quiet Meadow image using my Poppy Parade and Evening Evergreen Stampin’ Write Markers.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pale Papaya mat and into my Evening Evergreen card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got a reprise of the Quiet Meadow floral on the front…

…and a little more of the Pansy Petals DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I mentioned at the start that I didn’t need the full Quiet Meadow bundle for this particular card…

…but I’m really glad I have it in my stash.  Those die cuts are AMAZING!  Check out what I did with them in a previous card right here!  I love this Quiet Meadow stamp set (and matching Meadow Dies) so much – and they’re just perfect to pair with the gorgeous, spring-y Pansy Petals DSP!

Stampin’ Up! True Love Pansy Petals Sneak Peek

Good morning and welcome to the week!  Guess what happens one week from today?  That’s 3 May.  Does that date ring a bell??  Yep – you got it.  That’s the last day you’ll be able to order from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog!  So…if there are things you’re wanting – you might want to get busy!

Of course, that means that the day AFTER one week from today….the brand new and amazing 2021-2022 Annual Catalog with be live!  Whoo-hoo!  THAT is the day I’ll be ordering all our share goodies to divide AND all your Special Bundles!  You’ve still got time to get in on both great deals, so…. 😉

My card today features a little already-available and a little coming-next week!  True Love DSP (available right now) sets the stage for Pansy Petals DSP flowers and sweet Pansy Patch sentiments (coming next week)!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

And the color palette is from the Color Throwdown challenge.

I started with a piece of the True Love DSP and, using a Blending Brush, colored the panel with Crumb Cake ink.  Then I matted it on Poppy Parade for the card front.

I found two likely designs from the new Pansy Petals DSP and cut a Stitched Rectangle die cut from each one.  These are adhered to the front of the card with Liquid Glue.

I adhered a Gold Hoop Embellishment to the card front with a few Glue Dots.

Using the large and small outline die in the Pansy Die Set, I cut three pansies from the Pansy Petal DSP.  I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere one of the larger flowers over the hoop.

I tied a double-loop Linen Thread bow and added it with a Glue Dot.  Then I used double-stacked Dimensionals to add the second large flower.  The final – smallest – flower is adhered with a single Dimensional and a little Liquid Glue.

I stamped the Pansy Patch sentiment in Poppy Parade on a Basic White strip – snipped banner ends and then used a Dimensional under the right side of the strip and Liquid Glue on the left – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second Pansy Patch sentiment in Poppy Parade on a Basic White panel.  I also used the smaller flower images with Bumble Bee and Pale Papapa ink to add some pansies here and there.  I added some flower centers in Tuxedo Black (there’s a tiny little stamp for that in the set!).

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Poppy Parade mat and into my Crumb Cake card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got more Pansy Patch flowers on the front…

…and more of the Pansy Petals DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  That True Love DSP is so cool – I love that you can coordinate it with ANY color just using a Blending Brush and some ink – or Stampin’ Blends or Watercolor Pencils!  And the Pansy Petals set is…amazing!  The gorgeous Pansy Patch flowers and sentiments, perfectly coordinated with the Pansy Dies (which cut flowers right from the Pansy Petals DSP – whoohooo!).

So – we had a little wind overnight on Saturday.  Had a few trees down when we went out on Sunday morning.

Like…this one across the driveway!


So – Wayne pulled out the chainsaw and the heavy equipment to make it so we could leave if we wanted to.

Well – that set off a firestorm of tree felling and cutting!

Thought you might enjoy seeing my lumberjack at work – TODAY is his birthday!!   😉

Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Earth Beauty of Friendship Sneak Peek with Video Tutorial

Happy half-way-thru-the-weekend!  Hope it’s going well.  Our planting plans were thwarted by rain most of the day on Saturday.  And I suspect we’ll be thwarted by eveything-is-soaking-wet-and-muddy today.  So…another inside-work day for us, I’m guessing.  Bleh. 😉

This card features a sneak peek at the new Beauty of Friendship stamp set with its bundled Beautiful Trees dies – with the Beauty of the Earth DSP taking center stage!  You’ll be able to get all of it starting on 4 May when the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog goes live.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches this week!

I started with some of the Beauty of the Earth DSP that I cut for a card front – then I cut a smooth-side circle from the middle using a Layering Circles Die.

I matted the DSP panel on Misty Moonlight and Cinnamon Cider mats using Liquid Glue.

I matted the DSP circle on scallop-edge die cuts – in Misty Moonlight and Cinnamon Cider – from the Layering Circles dies.  Then I added it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

The Beautiful Trees dies has two rectangular dies for sentiments.  I used the smaller one to cut a wood-grain piece of DSP from the Beauty of the Earth DSP.

I stamped the Beauty of Friendship sentiment in Cajun Craze on a piece of Basic White and cut it with the second rectangle die in the Beautiful Trees dies – then adhered it to the wood rectangle with Liquid Glue.

Now – my trim uses Crumb Cake and White Baker’s Twine from the brand new Baker’s Twine Combo Pack (it has FIVE rolls of twine!!).  I cut about 16″ of each – two in Crumb Cake and one in White.

I tied them together in a knot and then braided it.  When I got done – I used Glue Dots to adhere the “rope” in a figure-8 loop to the card front.

I added a few double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals right by the loops and used them to adhere my sentiment to the card front – and that was it!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Beauty of Friendship sentiment in Cajun Craze to a Basic White panel.  In the corner, I stamped the tree trunk image in Early Espresso, added the smaller tree top in Cinnamon Cider (this is SUCH a cool image!).  Then I used the little splotches image to stamp all over in Cajun Craze and Misty Moonlight.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Misty Moonlight and Cinnamon Cider mat and then into my Cajun Craze card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Beauty of Friendship tree on the front…

…and more of the wood-grain Beauty of the Earth DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This Beauty of the Earth suite is so gorgeous  – with the watercolor-inspired images in the DSP and the wonderful sentiments and trees in the Beauty of Friendship stamp set.  And – I haven’t even really gotten busy with the Beautiful Trees dies!

Stampin’ Up! Sneak Peek of a Video Tutorial Sneak Peek!

On Friday evening we had our friends Ed, Jan and Lois over for dinner for the first time in….ever?

No – of course not “ever’ – it just really feels that way!

We set up to cook and eat on the patio and God graced us with an absolutely perfect evening!  The weather was spectacular, the company wonderful and the food tasted amazing!  I am very very grateful for this little moment in time!

Finn ALSO had a good time.

In truth – he was sort of a hot mess for the first few minutes (driving home the fact that he needs more outside-world-contact and a bunch of obedience tune-up!!) – but then he settled down to his normal goofy, sweet and laid-back self!

Which is not to say that he wasn’t ALSO checking for any suckers who might have been pulled up to the table!

He also graced us with a glamour shot!

Stampin’ Up! Flowers of Friendship Sneak Peek Fun Fold with Video Tutorial!

Morning, y’all – happy Friday!  Hope you’ve got something cool planned for the weekend.  I feel like we do, but…I can’t think what it is.  So….guess we’ll see as the days go by, huh?  I KNOW we’ll be doing some planting.  But…beyond that… 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I pulled out a new stamp set – so new, in fact, that only Demonstrators can get it right now!  That’ll all change on 4 May with the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog!  This is the Flowers of Friendship stamp set and the bundled Flowers & Leaves Punch.  And…I’ve showcased three great new 2021-2023 In Colors!  All in a super-easy fun fold.  Take a look-see:

This one was inspired by the CASE The Designer challenge over on the Global Design Project Challenge this week.

I started with a piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock. I used the next-to-largest Stitched Rectangle die to cut a panel that I adhered to a Thick Basic White card base, at a jaunty angle, with Liquid Glue.

I used the same Stitched Rectangle Die to cut a Basic White panel.  Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the Flowers of Friendship sentiment in Fresh Freesia.  Then I popped the panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a strip of Basic White, I stamped the large and small flowers and leaves from Flowers of Friendship in Fresh Freesia and Soft Succulent.  Then I punched the pieces with the bundled Flowers & Leaves Punch.

I adhered the leaves with Liquid Glue then popped the flowers over top with more Dimensionals.  Then I added a Pale Papaya gem from the new 2021-2023 In Color Jewels to the middle of the flowers and the card front was done!

For the back, I again used my Stamparatus, first to add a second sentiment from Flowers of Friendship in Fresh Freesia to a Basic White panel.  Then, using the Marker-to-Rubber technique – I stamped the large floral image in Fresh Freesia, Soft Succulent and Early Evergreen.

I added another 2021-2023 In Color Jewel, used Liquid Glue adhere the panel to a Fresh Freesia mat and then onto the back of the card base.

To make the “tent mechanism” – I used a 3 1/4″ x 3 7/8″ piece of Basic White (tip – if you’re using a different color card base – match that color, okay?).  Using my Simply Scored Board, I scored along the short side at 3/8″, 1 5/8″ and 2 7/8″.  Then folded at the score lines – Valley, Mountain, Valley.

I used Tear & Tape adhesive on the short “tabs” to adhere the mechanism to the inside of the card base.  Check the video if these words are more confusing than helpful! 😉

And that was it for the card.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Flowers of Friendship floral on the front (Stamparatus, again!)…

…and more of the flowers and leaves on the envelope flap.

I also made the same card with Pale Papaya and one with Pink Polish as the focal colors!

Et Voila!  Pretty easy way to notch up a “basic” tent fold card, am I right?  🙂

I am LOVING the new 2021-2023 In Colors, aren’t you?  And the new Flowers of Friendship set with its bundled Flowers & Leaves Punch really lets them shine, don’t you think??

Sometimes, the only thing that can make a girl (or her husband – he just won’t admit it!) feel better is some good old-fashioned retail therapy!

So – as I mentioned in my video, we went to Costco on Wednesday – and ended up buying more Confederate Jasmine (so we’ve got three now!) and some lavender.  And three more of the amazing trellises…trellisae?…that we’d bought a couple weeks back.

And Wayne has been building horse-shoe planters for us (it’s a theme here!) – sized to fit 20 gallon Grow Bags.

He was busy helping the jasmine find it’s finger and toe holds so it can climb its trellis.

Just throwing this out there – if Heaven doesn’t smell like Jasmine then….if probably should!  Not trying to tell God His job or anything, but… 😉

Stampin’ Up! Elegantly Said Butterfly Sneak Peek for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  We’ve got a theme challenge to work with today and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

When I saw the theme, I took it as tacit permission to pull out one of my favorite new bundles – the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle!  And – I also wanted to play with a new stamp set coming on 4 May in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog – called Elegantly Said.  Take a look-see:

And I pulled my layout from this week’s FabFriday challenge, too!

I started with a piece of the pretty Peony Garden DSP (retiring soon and on SALE!!) that I adhered with Liquid Glue to the front of a Petal Pink card base.

Next, I matted another design from Peony Garden on Evening Evergreen cardstock (this is one of our new 2021-2023 In Colors and will be available to you on 4 May!) using Liquid Glue – then I adhered that to the card front.

On a smaller piece of Natural Touch Specialty Paper (available ONLY until 3 May!) I stamped the large corner image from the Elegantly Said stamp set (coming on 4 May!) in Evening Evergreen.  I stamped it once in one corner then turned it and stamped it in the opposite corner.  Hint: ink takes a hot second to dry on this Specialty Paper – so…go get a drink and a snack.  Or…pull out your Heat Tool and wield it on the low setting like I did to speed it along! 😉

Once it was all dry, I matted that panel on Evening Evergreen and then adhered it to the card front.

I stamped the Elegantly Said sentiment in Petal Pink on Basic White and cut it with the smaller oval in the Double Oval Punch.  I used the scalloped oval to punch an Evening Evergreen mat.  I popped the sentiment onto the mat with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

With two pieces of gold Simply Elegant trim (part of the Simply Elegant suite and coming on 4 May), I tied a big loopy bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

I stamped one of the butterflies from Butterfly Elegance (remember – a while back I told you that I’d cut the large butterfly image apart so that I can stamp just one at a time!) in Evening Evergreen on a piece of the Peony Garden DSP.  Then I cut it with the large die in the Brilliant Wings Die set.

I cut the same-size detailed Brilliant Wings butterfly from Vellum cardstock and adhered it to the solid butterfly with a Glue Dot.  Then I added some Genial Gems (new in the 2021-2022 AC!) down the body of the butterfly.

I used some Liquid Glue on top of the bow – and a double-stack of Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the butterfly over the bow.

I added a final Genial Gem to the sentiment oval and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Elegantly Said sentiment in Petal Pink on a Basic White mat.  I also added the pretty flower image from the set a few times in Evening Evergreen.  Serious – how pretty is that flower!?? 🙂

I added a Genial Gem then used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Evening Evergreen mat and into the Petal Pink card base and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got more of the Elegantly Said flowers in Evening Evergreen on the front…

…and more of the Peony Garden DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Butterfly Brilliance is…brilliant!!  And the bundled and gorgeous Brilliant Wings just makes it like a thousand times more amazing!  I am loving the beautiful sentiments and decorative images (that FLOWER!!) in the new Elegantly Said stamp set, too – and know you’re going to love it, too, when you get your hands on it in May!

Stampin’ Up! Hand-Penned Petals Sneak Peek Tower Fun Fold Card

Happy Hawwmp Day, y’all!  Thank you to everyone for all the kind words about Katy that you left in the comments and e-mails yesterday.  I truly appreciate each and every one of you! 🙂

My card today is another Tower fun fold – and is the subject of the Wednesday Tutorial over at Split Coast Stampers – complete with a video!  Hope you’ll check it out!

This fun-fold has become one of my faves – it REALLY looks complicated until you sort of “break it down”!  I made one previously with the new Pansy Petals suite (see it – plus a Video Tutorial – right here!) and this one today is another fave – the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set and bundled Penned Flowers Dies, plus the gorgeous Hand-Penned DSP.   Take a look-see:

I started this one with a piece of Pale Papaya card stock (avail on 4 May in the new catalog!) that I scored and cut according to this template, using my trusty Simply Scored Board and Paper Trimmer.

Then I folded the score lines according to this template:

Once it was a “tower” – I began to decorate, using the pretty new Hand-Penned Suite of goodies!

I matted pieces of the new Hand-Penned DSP on Misty Moonlight cardstock and, using Liquid Glue, adhered them to the front and back panels of the card base.

I cut three largest Stitched Shapes squares – two in Misty Moonlight and one in Basic White.  Tip:  if you don’t have the Stitched Shapes set already, it is – SADLY!! – sold out.  You can simply cut 2 5/8″ squares of the cardstock.

I adhered the Misty Moonlight squares to the card front with Liquid Glue – tipping them up into diamonds.

I stamped the Hand-Penned Petals sentiment in Misty Moonlight onto the white square and then adhered it over the other two squares.

On a piece of new Soft Succulent cardstock, I stamped the two-step wildflower image from Hand-Penned Petals in Soft Succulent ink and cut them with the matching die from Penned Flowers.  I adhered them both to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Next, I stamped the large flower image from Hand-Penned Petals in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored it with the new Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends (avail 4 May) as well as the Daffodil Delight Blends (avail now!).  Then I cut it with its Penned Flowers Die.

I popped the flower onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, added a Genial Gem (new and available on 4 May!) and the card front was done!

For the back panel, I stamped the flower in Tuxedo Black on a Basic White panel and colored it as I’d done the flower on the front!  I also added another of the Genial Gems – cuz I really really like them!! 😉

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Misty Moonlight mat and onto the back of the card base and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got more Hand-Penned Petals flowers on the front…

…and more of the Hand-Penned DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Hard to say what I like better – the cool Tower Fun Fold or the new and wunnermus Hand-Penned Petals Bundle and Hand-Penned DSP!  I think it might be a toss up and have officially decided that I don’t have to choose!  I can love them both!
