Stampin’ Up! Vintage Blossoms in Bloom Birthday With Video Tutorial

Good morning and happy Friday.  It’s been quite a week, has it not?  I surely don’t know where we’re headed from here – it all feels broken.  Maybe we can all help – be kind.  To EVERYone.  Let’s see if that works.  It surely can’t hurt!

And – let’s maybe spread some beauty and love – with our cards, shall we?  We’ve seen the smiles that our paper creations can bring – the comfort in hard times.  The moment of lightness in dark days.  They seem like little things – paper, ink, some ribbon…Dimensionals!  But – sometimes they are just THE thing.

Well – that was a lot deeper than I planned.  Sorry!

But I’m totally right.

Admit it.  😉

If you were able to join me for my YouTube video yesterday – I appreciate you spending some of your day with me!  If not, but you’d like to see the replay…here ’tis!

We all send cards for birthdays – and today’s would be a great one!  It uses the new and WUNNERMUS Blossoms in Bloom bundle with its spectacular floral images and the stunning die cuts.  Take a look-see:

This one is going in the pot for the floral theme challenge at the Global Design Project.

And I think it works as a layered card for The Card Concept, too!

The florals for this one are reminscent of a card I saw created by Anna Helman over at Stampin Scrapping and More! 🙂

I started off by cutting the large floral die cut from the Many Layered Blossoms from a piece of Brass Foil.  Before I cut it – I stuck the Brass Foil onto a piece of Adhesive Sheet.

Next, I placed a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock into my Stamparatus and used it to stamp the large floral from Blossoms in Bloom.  I placed my die cut onto the card front and used it to correctly place all the stamps.

The large blue flowers were first.  I inked them with Seaside Spray ink, spritzed them with water and then stamped them.  I dried the image off and then used a Sponge Dauber to add some Misty Moonlight in the middle of the flowers.

I repeated the stamp placement using the die cut for the small flowers – stamped in Highland Heather – and the leaves – stamped in Old Olive daubed with Mossy Meadow.

I ran the panel thru my die cutting and embossing machine in the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder, then I sponged it with Crumb Cake using a wedge of Stampin’ Sponge.  Finally, I matted the panel on Mossy Meadow.

I pulled the backing off the die cut and adhered it to the card front.

On a piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the Blossoms in Bloom sentiment in Mossy Meadow and cut it with an Ornate Frames die.  Then I embossed it in the Tasteful Textile folder and sponged it with Crumb Cake.

I tied a Linen Thread double-loop bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Then I used a Glue Dot on top of the bow – and some double-stack Stampin’ Dimensionals – and adhered the sentiment.  A few Pearl Basic Jewels and some Glue-Dot-adhered Antiqued Corners finished the card front!

On the inside, I borrowed an idea from Kylie Bertucci and adhered part of a Brass Foil Many Layered Blossoms die cut and a small flower to a Very Vanilla panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and into my Thick Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got some Blossoms in Bloom flowers in Seaside Spray and stamped-off-once Highland Heather, plus some stamped-off-once Old Olive/Mossy Meadow leaves and stamped-off-once So Saffron flower middles on the front….

…and a couple on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How.  Spectacular.  Is.  This.  Bundle?!?  Blossoms in Bloom – with it’s Many Layered Blossoms Die set bundled with it – will let you make blooms for DAYS!  Weeks, even! And I adore them all vintagized with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder and some Antiqued Corners!  I hope you like!

And – you could pick THIS BUNDLE as your FREE BUNDLE when you join Stampin’ Up! during the month of June!! 😉

If you’d like to recreate this card, all the products and card cuts are listed below!

You may notice – in these hot summer weeks – that MOST of the pictures I share of the fur-kid are of him…sleeping.

In the air conditioning.

Cuz he’s furry AND smart! 🙂

He’s not too interested in spending extra time in the hot.  He’s usually to be found on a cool smooth floor – preferably right in front of an AC vent!

Except…this time.

He’s on carpet.  No vent around.

And – when you see the spot from the other direction…

Tucked in a corner, behind the chair – with his chin on the step.

Not really sure why that seemed like a good idea to him – but…he sure does look comfy!

Stampin’ Up! Vintage Well Written Path of Petals Anniversary

Hey y’all!  How’s the haps on this Tuesday?

Last week my friend in Colorado asked me for a special Anniversary card for some good friends of hers who are celebrating their 50th Anniversary.  Which is pretty darned cool!  I asked for some specifics and wrote down: grasses/prairie, horses, down-to-earth, vintage.

Then I stewed for a while.  I flipped pages in the catalog for ideas.  I knew I wanted to use the Friendly Silhouettes Dies for the grasses.  And the Let It Ride set for the horse element.  I also figured Well Said/Well Written for the sentiments.  But I wanted a…..better?…sentiment, too.  I finally found it in the Path of Petals stamp set.  And I saw a fun card front treatment in the catalog, sooo…putting it all together, here’s what I came up with.  Take a look-see:

I started with a Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Cards & Envelopes card.  I matted some Mossy Meadow 6″ x 6″ DSP (from the Neutrals pack) on Mossy Meadow card stock for the card front.

Then I pulled out the Come Sail Away DSP and cut 6 – 1″ x 4″ strips of the newsprint design.  I used my Paper Snips to rough up the edges of each strip and then sponged them with Crumb Cake using Sponge Daubers.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the strips to the card front and then added mini staples (from a non-Stampin’ Up! stapler) for a vintage-y decoration.

With the grasses die in the Friendly Silhouettes Dies, I cut one in Gold Foil (50th Anniversary!), one in Mossy Meadow and one from an extra piece of a Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Card.  I adhered the Mossy Meadow die cut to the Gold die cut – offsetting them a bit for some depth – using Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue (and added a couple more mini staples).

I stamped “Anniversary” from the Well Said stamp set in Early Espresso on more of the Come Sail Away DSP.  Over the word I stamped the grazing horses from Let It Ride in Crumb Cake ink.  Then I cut it out with a Stitched Nested Label Die, roughed up the edges with the Snips and sponged it with Crumb Cake.

I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and used them to wind/adhere a few loops of Linen Thread and popped it onto the card front – nestling it down in the grasses a little.

I used the die from Well Written to cut a Gold Foil “Happy” and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

To finish it off, I tied a Linen Thread Double-Loop Bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Over top I added a simple bow in Mossy Meadow Linen Thread from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack.  Finally, I added a Gold Metallic Pearl – and the card was done!

For the inside, I added the Let It Ride horses in stamped-off-once Crumb Cake to a Very Vanilla panel.  Over the top, using my Stamparatus, I added the perfectly perfect sentiment from Path of Petals in Mossy Meadow.   I used Liquid Glue to add about a half of the Friendly Silhouettes grasses that I’d cut earlier from the Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Card.  I finished up with another Gold Metallic Pearl.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and into the Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Card, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

The matching Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Envelope got more Crumb Cake Let It Ride grazing horses on the front…

…and I added a Come Sail Away DSP Envelope Liner (I traced the shape of the liner that comes with the Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Cards & Envelopes, then fussy cut it – and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake) with Liquid Glue.

Et Voila!  So…uses a lot of elements, yes.  Has multiple steps…yes.  But – nothing very hard – and I think they pieces and parts all come together to create the card I was going for!  I love the versatility of the Well Said stamp set and Well Written Dies – and the wonderful sentiment from Path of Petals is just right for an Anniversary or Wedding card.  I hope you like!

Apparently I wasn’t paying enough attention to The Man and Mr. Reindeer yesterday afternoon.

So – The Man brought Mr. Reindeer VERY CLOSE!!

It was pretty close – and moving fast! – so…sorta hard to get a picture.

He.  Was. On. A. Mission.

The mission was successful.  And – interestingly – Katy just watched in disgust.  But she didn’t leave.

Younger brothers are just something dignified cats have to deal with, I suppose.

Stampin’ Up! Copper Country Road Birthday

Good mornin’, y’all!  Now – it’s Tuesday and in the normal scheme of things I’d be bringing you a card for the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge.  But – this week, the challenge is Shaker Cards.

I brought nothing – as in nada, zero, zilch – to make a shaker card.  Not a bauble or bead – no Window Sheets – no Foam Adhesive strips.  Nuthin’.

So – I bowed out – but that doesn’t mean you couldn’t go play if you want!  I’ll give you the challenge badge and a link down below!  Have fun playing.

What I did make for today is a card squarely back in my wheelhouse – and it even had a weathervane (guess the stamp set?)!  I love weathervanes – we actually have 4 or 5 of them – all horse-themed.

And none actually on a roof.

These things take time! One day… 😉

The stamp set I’m talking about is, of course, the lovely new Country Road set – which was another one of those “I MUST have that right away” sets for me!  And look what happened when I vintage-i-fied it a little and added it to some Wood Textures DSP.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Painted Harvest Vintage Leaves

Well, it’s Friday, y’all!  We made it!  Hope you’re ready for a fun weekend.  I’ve got my traditional pre-trip hair cut for tomorrow and then….if nothing changes….I head to the airport on Sunday.

Bleh.

Let me repeat….B. L. E. H.

But – for now…let’s take a look at the card I made on Thursday as my end-of-day stress reliever!  I used one of my all-time favorite sets – the Vintage Leaves and added a Painted Harvest sentiment.  Take a look-see:

This layout was inspired by the sketch challenge at the Paper Craft Crew.

It also plays nicely with the challenge from The Paper Players.

I made the card front from a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  Using the little splotches image from the Timeless Textures stamp set, I stamped around in the top corner with Crumb Cake ink.  Then I ran the panel thru the Big Shot in my Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF.

With my sponge, I lightly burnished the raised wood grain with Cajun Craze.  Tip – use your – previously inked – dry sponge.  Don’t add any more ink.  It makes it easier to stay on top of the grain.  I also flicked the edges of the panel.

The panel is matted on a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock.

I adhered a length of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon down the side with some liquid Glue.  Then I made leaves!

This is the stained glass technique.  First I stamped two smaller flowers on a piece of Vellum card stock in Early Espresso.

And let them dry.  It takes a while, folks.  Be patient.  Or…give them a little hit with your Heat Tool!

While those dried, I rubbed another piece of Vellum card stock with my Embossing Buddy and stamped the large leaf in Versamark, sprinkled it with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated it up.

I colored the leaves by turning them over – and coloring the back! – with my Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write Markers.  I used the darker colors to highlight the veins in the leaves and then filled them in with the lighter colors.  When that was dry…I cut them out with the matching dies in the Leaflets Frameltis.

I curled the leaves lightly with a stylus then used Dimensionals behind the large leaf (and a little Liquid Glue on the stem) to adhere it to the card front.  Then I added the smaller leaves over top – with just a small line of Liquid Glue down the center and the stem.

The sentiment, from Painted Harvest, is stamped on Very Vanilla in Cajun Craze ink.  Then I tore around the sentiment and flicked the torn edges with a Crumb Cake sponge.  I also crumpled up the sentiment a couple of times to vintage-ize it a little and then popped it over the leaves with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The final pieces are a Linen Thread bow (make multiple loops and tie a thread around the middle) and a few Pumpkin Pie Enamel Shapes.

On the inside, I added a couple of the smaller leaves in Early Espresso and colored them with my Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie markers.  I also added some Timeless Textures Crumb Cake spotches and flicked the edges with the Cajun Craze sponge.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Pumpkin Pie mat and into my Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more Vintage Leaves and Timeless Textures on the front…

…and I embossed the flap in the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF and burnished it with the Cajun Craze sponge.

Et Voila!  Some Vintage Leaves with an assist from Painted Harvest.  And, of course, the wonderful Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF!  All with some subtle color from the stained glass technique on Vellum.  Hope you like! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Christmas Happiness for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a full roster for today’s sketch challenge, so be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

Take a look at our sketch:

I used my fave stamp set from the new 2017 Holiday Catalog – Christmas Happiness – and added some Merry Music Specialty DSP (also in the new catty).  I also made some boughs with the Pretty Pines Thinlits, so…take a look-see:

I started with a piece of the new Merry Music Specialty DSP – but…it’s in black and white (which is cool – but not what I wanted for this particular card…) and I sponged it with Crumb Cake ink to vintage-ize it a little.  Then I matted it on Garden Green card stock.

The middle layer is a piece of Whisper White card stock that I stamped with the new Sheet Music background stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Then I tore it down to the size I wanted, sponged it with Crumb Cake and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using the Pretty Pines Thinlits, I cut a bunch of pine boughs from Garden Green, Always Artichoke and Copper Foil.  I cut each one – so I had a top and a bottom.  When I did my first dry-fit, here’s what it looked like.

I used a few Glue Dots across the card front and wound a length of Linen Thread and one of Copper Metallic Thread around in several loops, then I adhered my pine tops and bottoms randomly across the top and bottom of the panel.

For the center sentiment panel, I took the large pine bough image from Christmas Happiness and stamped it a few times in Always Artichoke on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  I stamped the first sentiment in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla and cut it with a Stitched Shapes Framelits circle.   It’s matted on Garden Green – cut with a Layering Circles Framelits die.

I popped the stamped panel over the card front with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I added the sentiment circle with more Dimensionals.  I made a “mat” with some of the new Jute Twine – wrapping two pieces around and securing then in the back with scotch tape.

I stamped some pine cones from Christmas Happiness – in Early Espresso for the outline image and Soft Suede for the fill, then I fussy them, and adhered them with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using Linen Thread, I tied a “Billie Moan bow” and secured it with a Glue Dot and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the Christmas Happiness pine bough in Always Artichoke on Very Vanilla.  I stamped it off twice on scrap paper before stamping my panel.  Over that, I added a second sentiment in Early Espresso.

I matted the panel on Garden Green and then into my Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Christmas Happiness pine cone (Early Espresso and Soft Suede) and some boughs (Always Artichoke) on the front…

…and I added more pine boughs on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Pines.  Pine Cones.  Music.  Vintage.  Yep – pretty much right smack in my sweet spot!  I hope like – and that you’ve got the Christmas Happiness set right at the top of your Wish List!  And don’t forget the Merry Music Specialty DSP! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Vintage Thankful Thoughts Thank You Card

Hey, y’all – hope you’re already up and at ’em on your Sunday!  And that the weather is good where you are!  If you’re shoveling snow this morning…I’m sorry!  We got a chill overnight – yesterday I headed out to feed the horses in a t-shirt, this morning it’s back to long sleeves and a hoodie!  But still – we don’t have the white stuff, so….it’s all good!

My card today is a sort of shabby-chic, vintage-y thank you card, using a couple of sentiments from Thankful Thoughts and the pretty flowers in the Sale-A-Bration Avant Garden set.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Love Blossoms Suite Sneak Peek!

Good Sunday morning to you!  Hope that your weekend has been wonderful – are you enjoying turkey leftovers in all their different guises?? 🙂

Today’s card share is not a Christmas card – I needed a Birthday card, so thought I’d take a quick moment to give you another 2016 Occasions Catalog sneak peek.  I hope these little peeks will get you excited about the arrival of the new catalog!  And – I hope that you’re thinking about catalog shares, cause I am – I’ll be posting really soon about the shares.  So watch for that, okay?

For my card, I used the Blooming’ Heart Thinlit die cut that we brought home from Onstage Live.  I added some Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper – it is so pretty! – and some ribbon from the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit!  Take a look-see:

Love Blossoms Birthday 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Kinda pretty, huh?  A little different than my usual fare, but…I like it!  And I think it’s got a nice vintage feel to it, too.
