Stampin’ Up! Bring On All The Bright Christmas Presents

Okay, you guys.  I’m finally caged to what the heck DAY it is!  Sheesh – can you believe that I thought there were still TWO weeks until Christmas!?  Yesterday was like…Springing Forward – for me.  But…it was a WEEK forward.  Like an HOUR, only….SO.  MUCH.  WORSE!!  All of a sudden my mild panic became…abject horror!!  I’m not RUNNING out of time – I’m flat OUT of time.

So – I baked like crazy yesterday and did some wrapping.  Still not gonna get everything where it needs to go by THIS Christmas, but…perhaps my late-arriving goodies will help to extend the holiday cheer!

Yea.  That’s my story.  Also – at this point it is what it is, so… 😳

My card for today is likely going to be one of th last that will be all about Christmas.  I mean – there’s only like 5 more days where a Christmas card is appropriate.  LOL.

For this one, I used the wonderful pine paper from the All Is Bright DSP and the Bring On The Presents and Merry Christmas To All stamp sets to make you a…present!  Take a look-see:

Just so you know – NONE of my “real” presents will look even remotely like this when they finally ship! 😉

I was playing along with this week’s TGIF Challenge – and I really went all in on the sketch!

I started with some of my favorite paper from the All Is Bright DSP and matted it on Real Red for the card front.

Then I “wrapped” the card front with 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon and Real Red 1/8″ Solid Ribbon – securing it all in the back with Glue Dots.

I pulled out the Pretty Pines Thinlits and cut some Shaded Spruce and Garden Green pine boughs.  I cut some Sparkle Glimmer Paper leaves, too.  With the Frosted Bouquet Framelits, I cut a few Real Red berry sprigs.

All these, I added to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Whisper White card stock, I stamped the big bow from Bring On The Presents in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Then I colored it with my Dark and Light Real Red Stampin’ Blends.  I didn’t want a white border – so I fussy cut the bow and popped it on top of the ribbons with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

My sentiment, also from Bring On The Presents, is stamped in Shaded Spruce on Whsiepr White.  I added the tag border in Real Red – and fussy cut that, too.

I tucked the gift tag under the bow with some Liquid Glue and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a big sentiment from Merry Christmas To All set in Shaded Spruce on Whisper White.  Then I added a couple of flourishes in Real Red.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Real Red mat and into my Shaded Spruce card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Real Red flourishes from the Merry Christmas To All set on the front…

…and I added some more of the All Is Bright DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  One week – or two! – this is a fun card for Christmas!  I love this paper from the All Is Bright DSP so much!  And that huge bow from Bring On The Presents is really perfect, especially colored with the Stampin’ Blends!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

From very early in his time with us, I’ve enforced about three rules with the Man.

They’re really for his own safety.

One of those is…do NOT go in the stalls.  Horses in – horses out – door open – door closed…no dog in the stall.

It just makes sense.

Sometimes he…forgets?…the rule.

But – he doesn’t always own up.

Finn?  Have you been in the stall?

Me?  Oh no – that would be against your really smart rule set in place for my own safety, Mom!  Uh…why do you ask??

Year End Closeout Happening NOW

The Year-End Closeout is our chance to do a little inventory cleaning—and your opportunity to take advantage of special year-end deals on retiring and surplus items.  During this promotion, you’ll be able to save on a selection of retiring and surplus items— and some are “last-chance” and limited inventory.  I suggest you place your orders sooner rather than later, because supplies are limited and the YearEnd Closeout ends on 2 January.  After that, some of your favorite retiring items may be gone for good!

Here’s the deets:

  • No minimum purchase required.
  • Discount applies to select items only.
  • Retiring items from the 2018 holiday catalog are available while supplies last.
  • Surplus items from 2018 annual catalog are available in limited quantities at the promotional price.
  • Discounted items may be added to a Starter Kit—or purchased with Stampin’ Rewards—at the promotional price!
  • Host sets may be purchased using only Stampin’ Rewards from a qualifying party/order
  • Ordering deadlines: 2 Jan 2019 at 11:50PM (Mountain Time!)

The Year-End Closeout is broken into two categories – be sure to check out BOTH lists carefully to make sure you have everything you need before submitting your order! 🙂

RETIRING FAVORITES:  This list has all the 2018 Holiday Catalog products that will not be offered in the 2019 Occasions Catalog or in the 2019 Annual Catalog.  Check ’em all out and get them before they’re gone-baby-gone!

Note about the Retiring List: The item number for each BUNDLE in the 2018 Holiday Catalog is being retired (in other words: the bundled pricing goes away) at the end of the catalog period.  So…you’ll see bundles (like the Winter Woods Bundle and First Frost Bundle) in the Retiring Favorites list – but that doesn’t necessarily mean the products (like the stamps and dies for these bundles) are retiring. Just sayin’…

DISCOUNTED PRODUCTS: There are lots of great products that are discounted during the Year-End Closeout – including select retiring products AND some overstocked items from the 2018 Annual Catalog.  Check them out and save some green…

Stampin’ Up! Making Christmas Presents Bright Gift Card Holder

Good morning, my peeps – on this Monday two exact weeks before Christmas! UPDATE:  My friends in the blogisphere have pointed out that my panic is unjustifiably SMALL – Christmas is only ONE WEEK AWAY!  YIKES!!!   Please wish me luck getting things wrapped and boxed and out the door today!  Time.  Is.  Running.  OUT!!

Also – I need to make cookies and whatnot….if only I didn’t like to sleep… 😉

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me!  I know how busy everyone is!  If not and you’d like to see how to make this gift card holder, you can check it out right here on YouTube.

I first saw this idea on Patty Bennet’s blog and I thought it was so cute that I decided to make one for myself!  Being that Gift Cards are so much a part of my gift-list this year!

I used the All Is Bright DSP in several different designs, plus some sentiments and images from the Making Christmas Bright and Bring On The Presents stamp sets.  Take a look-see:

My color scheme is pretty much from the Color Throwdown challenge this week – I did use a little Pineapple Punch in there!

I started with a Crumb Cake base, cut to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere a piece of the All Is Bright DSP to a Real Red mat and then to the Crumb Cake card base.

The pullout is a piece of Call Me Clover card stock, with various pieces of the All Is Bright DSP adhered to the sections with Liquid Glue.  There are a LOT of panels to decorate with this fun-fold, so don’t miss an opportunity to display your decorating chops! 🙂

On the front panel, I used Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the light string from Making Christmas Bright, then I colored the bulbs with my Real Red, Call Me Clover and Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Write Markers.

I added a “cord” with Tuxedo Black and then stamped the big sentiment bulbs in Real Red and Call Me Clover.  Since I needed them to be “on” – I used Pineapple Punch to add some “glow”.  Then I added the sentiment in Call Me Clover.

For the gift card holder itself, I used Tear & Tape Adhesive to add a “pocket” to the middle panel.

The inside panel is Whisper White and I used a sticky-note mask and added a big bow and two “ribbons” from the Bring On The Presents stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I colored them with my Real Red Dark and Light Stampin’ Blends.  Then I added a Bring On The Presents sentiment in Call Me Clover.

I mentioned there are a lot of panels to decorate with this fold…

…don’t forget about ’em!  Your recipient WILL look at those panels, I promise! 😉

Once I had the fold-out portion done, I adhered the back panel to a Real Red mat and then onto the card base with Liquid Glue and that was it for the card!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a another string of Making Christmas Bright lights on the front…

…and I put some more of the All Is Bright DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How cool is this fold?!?  It’s so easy AND it lets you really have fun decorating and showing off our gorgeous designer papers!  Oh – and it lets you give a gift card in an oh-so-personal way!  This one, with the Making Christmas Bright and Bring On The Presents stamp set images and sentiments, will be perfect for Christmas morning!  Hope you like!

Finn was scrolling thru e-mails the other day and saw a cute cartoon my mom sent:

24176792.png

His sense of fair-play was immediately affronted and he decided to push the envelope.

Just like a human, he searched and found the perfect paradigm-challenging “stick/tree”…

…and, once he’d located it, brought it to the house.

Sadly – the paradigm still holds true.

And his tree/stick remains outside where it belongs.

Sorry, big Man. 😉

I love Christmas lights.  All white for me – I’m not a colored light person.  I like white lights all over the tree and the wreaths.  And if we did house lights – they’d be all white, too.  It’s just how I roll.

Because I love them, I turn on the tree and our lighted wreath every morning first thing and they stay on all day!

It’s a known thing that EVERYTHING looks better in white Christmas light!

There’s my handsome men – enjoying the tree and the wreath and a little petting!

It’s Christmas time in Fayetteville!

Stampin’ Up! Hummingbird Humming Along Sneak Peek

Good Saturday, y’all!  Hope your weekend is shaping up to be a good one – maybe you’re headed out to do a little Christmas Shopping??  Or staying home to bake cookies?  Whatever you’re planning – I hope you enjoy the time.

I’ve got a little 2019 Occasions catalog sneak peek for you today, using the sweet Humming Along stamp set and bundled Hummingbird Framelits.  Plus I’ve used the new and wonderful Lace Dynamic TIEF and more of the Floral Romance Specialty DSP – all of which you can get for yourself on 3 Jan!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge!

I started with a wood-grain design in the new Floral Romance Specialty DSP and, cutting it to the same size as the front of my card base, adhered it with Liquid Glue.

The other side of that same paper is a beautiful leafy vine design, and I used it on the next up layer – matted on Balmy Blue and adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

For the middle layer, I took the same wood-grain paper and embossed it in the new Lace Dynamic TIEF, then matted it on Balmy Blue and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the hummingbird from Humming Along in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Whisper White.  I used the Dark and Light Balmy Blue and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends (coming in the 2019 Occasions catalog on 3 Jan) and my Dark and Light Smoky Slate Blends and the Dark Daffodil Delight Blend to color him all in.  Then I cut him with the matching die in the Hummingbird Framelits.

The sentiment, also from Humming Along, is stamped in Mossy Meadow on the same Floral Romance Specialty DSP – then cut with the pretty sentiment label die in the Hummingbird Framelits.  I adhered the sentiment to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the hummingbird and used them to wind some Linen Thread loops – then popped him onto the card front.

I stamped two leaves in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and fussy cut them – then colored them with the Dark and Light Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends.  I adhered them with a little Liquid Glue and added a Petal Pink Frosted Flower Embellishment with a Share What You Love Artisan Pearl.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I did another full-panel treatment with the wood-grained Floral Romance Specialty DSP.  Then I stamped the flower image from Humming Along in Mossy Meadow in the corner of more of that paper.  I colored the flower with my Dark and Light Petal Pink, Dark and Light Mossy Meadow and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Balmy Blue mat and into my prepared Petal Pink card base – and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Humming Along flower on the front…

…and I added more of the Floral Romance Specialty DSP to the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  I love this Hummingbird – it’s nice to see them in the winter, and the Humming Along stamp set lets us do that!  Pretty handy dandy to have the bundled Hummingbird Framelits, huh?!  And the Lace Dynamic TIEF is a wonderful way to add elegant texture to any project! Hope you like!

Wayne’s been busy this week, putting in the radiant floor heat in the shop and apartment.

This has been a 10-year effort!  We put the piping in the slab when we built the barn some 10 years ago.  But now – we’re finally getting the hot water heater and the giant manifold hooked up and going.

Plumbing is hard work and it’s ALWAYS good to have a solid apprentice.

Wayne might have forgotten to put “must have thumbs” in the job advertisement!

But – Finn’s a trier if nothing else.

And he’s always willing to add a little levity by….sticking his schnoozle in spots it’s not really supposed to be….

Maybe he was just trying to get a better angle on what the Dad was doing?

You know – so he could do it all by his own self the next time! 😉

Stampin’ Up! Floral Romance Sneak Peek Thinking of You

Happy Friday, y’all!  The week’s are just flying by!  Hope you’re readier for Christmas than I am! 😳😳😳

I’ve got another sneak peek for you guys – this is one that caused quite a fuss when it was revealed at OnStage and it’ll all be available on 3 Jan with the Occasions Catalog!  It’s called the Floral Romance Suite and it. IS.  GORGEOUS!  I used the Wonderful Romance stamp set (one of the new Cling stamps!) and the bundled Wonderful Floral Framelits.  Then, borrowing some ideas from the samples in the catalog,  I added some vellum Floral Romance Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

I was playing along with the week’s Global Design Project challenge, which is a CASE the Designer Challenge!

I started by cutting a Whisper White panel AND a Petal Pink vellum piece of Floral Romance Specialty DSP to the same size.  Using Glue Dots – under the printed parts of the vellum – I adhered the vellum panel to the Whisper White Panel.  Then I matted the whole thing on Fresh Fig for the card front.

I stamped the sentiment from Wonderful Romance in Fresh Fig on Whisper White and cut it with a Stitched Shapes Framelits circle die, then adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

To create the wreath, I stamped the leaf image from Wonderful Romance six times on Whisper White with Mossy Meadow ink.  Then I used the Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends (yep – new colors coming on 3 Jan in the Occasions Catalog!  Whoo-hoo!) to color the leaves.  I cut them all with the matching die in the Wonderful Floral Framelits.

I also cut some Petal Pink leaf sprays with a fun little die in the set.  And…some Mossy Meadow leaves.  This die is amazing!  When you cut the leaves – it ALSO embosses veins in them at the same time!  See them?

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the leaves around the sentiment in an oh-so-artistic wreathy way.  Then I added some little Fresh Fig Frosted Flower Embellishments (available 3 Jan) and topped them with some Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.

I tied a little bow from Petal Pink/Whisper White 5/8″ Variegated Ribbon (new on 3 Jan) and adhered it with a little dab of Liquid Glue – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the leaf image again in Mossy Meadow on a Whisper White panel.  I surrounded it with some Petal Pink dots – this is also a stamp in the Wonderful Romance set! – and then added little dots with my Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Marker.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Fresh Fig mat and into my Petal Pink card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

I added more of the Wonderful Romance leaves and dots to the front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope…

…and also to the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  WOW!!  How gorgeous is this Floral Romance Suite?!  It was my number one pick in the catalog!  The Wonderful Romance stamp set features beautiful images and sentiments – and the matching Wonderful Florals Framelits makes it easy peasy to cut all that foliage out to add to your projects!  Topping it all off?  Floral Romance Specialty DSP featuring printed pinks and greens in vellum and paper.  It’s kind of the whole-deal, y’all!  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Well Said, Dear Doily Sneak Peek for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a color challenge and I know you’ll see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop.

A friend of mine is graduating with his Master’s degree this weekend, so I decided to make a card for him, using a couple of new 2019 Occasions Catalog products!  I pulled out the new Well Said bundle (which includes the massive 24-die Well Written Framelits set), the Incredible Like You stamp set and some Happiness Blooms Memories & More goodies!  Take a look-see:

Our color challenge was fun!  I picked Night of Navy as my Free Choice color!

I borrowed my layout from the Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge this week.

I started with one of the large Happiness Blooms Memories & More Cards & Envelopes (available on 3 Jan) for my base.  I took four likely sentiments from the Well Said stamp set and add them all to an acrylic block.  Then I stamped them all over the front of the card base in Night of Navy Ink.

Next, I trimmed down one of the smaller card panels in the Happiness Blooms Memories & More Card Pack (2019 Occasions) and matted it on Gold Foil.  Then I adhered it to the side of the card front with Liquid Glue.

I adhered a Pearlized Doily with some more Liquid Glue.

The next layer is another design in the Happiness Blooms Memories & More Card Pack that I cut with the die in the Frosted Bouquet Framelits.  I cut the mat from Gold Foil with the handy die from Frosted Bouquet, and adhered them together with Liquid Glue.

I cut a Whisper White Stitched Shapes Framelits circle and stamped it in Night of Navy with a single sentiment word from Well Said, then adhered it to a Gold Foil die cut from the Doily Builder Thinlits (coming on 3 Jan).

I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the Frosted Bouquet label and the matted circle, and used them to wind a few loops of Gold Metallic Thread.  Then I popped the whole thing onto the card front.

I cut two Night of Navy sentiments with the Well Written Thinlits and adhered them with Liquid Glue.  Then I added a few gold Metallic Pearls and the card front was done.

On the inside, I added a sentiment from the Incredible Like You stamp set (another goodie coming in the Occasions catalog on 3 Jan 19) in Night of Navy on a Whisper White panel.  I added a single gold Metallic Pearl…

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Gold Foil mat and into my Happiness Blooms Card base and the card was done!

The Happiness Blooms Memories & More Card & Envelopes envelope got a couple three images from the Dear Doily set in Night of Navy on the front…

…and I didn’t have to do a durned thing to the flap – Stampin’ Up! gave it a pretty liner for me!

Et Voila!  SO many cool things in the catalog that you’ll be able to pick up on 3 Nov!  One of the most obvious “must-haves” is the Well Said bundle – chock-a-block full of sentiment die and matching images to make all sorts of wonderful sentiments of your own!   And the Dear Doily is a gorgeous set – don’t let it be a “flyover” set, okay?  Hope you like!

Now that you’ve seen my card, take a minute to hop thru all our projects today  If you click on the Next Blog button, you’ll go right to Kristi’s page. And you can just click on the names below to go direct to all the blogs!

Stampin’ Up! Precious Parcel Card Kit Sneak Peek

Happy Hawwmp Day, y’all!  Hope your week is going well and that the weather is settling down for a minute!  We finally had some very-welcome sun on Tuesday – and it got all the way up to 48!  Not quite a heat-wave, but a pretty nice day all in all!

You guys have heard the words “Sale-A-Bration”, right?  And you know that Sale-A-Bration will take place in Jan, Feb and March, yes?  AND – you know that what happens during Sale-A-Bration is….you get FREE stuff!

That’s right – you get to pick from an assortment of FREE goodies when you make purchases of Stampin’ Up! products.  There are two levels – gifts you can pick when you spend $50 and gifts you can pick when you spend $100!

One of the $50-level gifts is the Precious Parcel Card Kit!

This is one AWESOME kit, y’all!  It’s All-Inclusive.  And I do mean ALL inclusive.  You need NOTHING else to put together the eight beautiful cards.

When you open the package, you’ll see what I mean!

I got this kit with my pre-order last week and spent a few minutes putting it together.  Folks – there’s no stamping, no cutting.  Just assembling the parts and pieces.

I love these little notes – you get a slide-in notecard with beautiful flowers for the front…in two different designs.

And there’s another inside area for a note, too!

You put the card together with pre-applied adhesive strips and it forms a pocket into which you slide those gorgeous flower-dy notes!

And – cuz Stampin’ Up! just GETS me – they even decorated the envelopes!

I love love love this Precious Parcel Card Kit, y’all!  The beautiful flowers and the fun “stamp” that you attach with a little decorative paper-clip!  I think the distressed “tin”, with the gold foil corners, is just perfect.  And it’s something you could put together waiting at the doctor or for a plane.  Easy peasy.  Hope you like – and will add this to your “what I need to pick for free” list for Sale-A-Bration!

P.S.  You know, being in my Host Club is a super-easy-peasy way to build your tool box AND earn free goodies!  Check it out – and then let me know that you want a spot before it’s too late! 🙂

Finn often helps me write blog posts.  He’s quite erudite.

You probably didn’t know that about him?

So here’s how it works.

When I’m feeling a little frazzled and my creative writing juices have yielded to the stress of a work day…he shows up!

“Finn (I might say) – what should we call our friends in Blog-opia?  Blog-o-topolis?  Blog-burg?  Would they be Blog-ables?  Blog-ians?  Blog-o-topians?  Blog-burgers?”

And he often takes a moment to think.

You can just see the wheels turning, can’t you?

We’re still working on how he can communicate his considered opinion.  So far – his thoughts are only his own….

Stampin’ Up! Wishing You Well Wreath for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Good mornin’, y’all – welcome to another edition of Amy’s Inkin’ Krew team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is Celebration!  We can interpret that any way we want – so…be sure to check and see everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!

I am celebrating the Christmas season with today’s card – after all, Christmas celebrates a pretty big Birthday, don’t you think?!  I used the Wishing You Well stamp set – and a sentiment from the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set – to make a beautiful Christmas wreath!  Take a look-see:

This one was just perfect for this week’s challenge over at As You See It!

I started with a piece of Festive Farmhouse DSP and matted it on some Basic Black for the card front.

My art work is a wreath that I built using the leaf-wreath image in the Wishing You Well stamp set.  I followed the instructions of Dina Kowal over at SplitCoastStampers!

I didn’t have the wreath builder template that she used, but I DID have Squares Layering Framelits – so I made one of my own from a piece of Thick Card Stock – using the largest smooth-sided square die.  Just cut out a square – then rotate the die 45 degrees and cut again!

I used Mossy Meadow and stamped the wreath 8 times – rotating my Very Vanilla card stock panel each time.  Then I repeated the process, using the flowers image in Cherry Cobbler!  Easy peasy!  This series of photos shows how I did it – I used a small flower image to practice before I graduated to the wreath!

Once I had built the wreath, I inked the Merry Christmas from the big sentiment in the Farmhouse Christmas set in Cherry Cobbler.  I used sticky notes to mask off the part of the sentiment I didn’t need.  Then I stamped the sentiment in the corner of the panel.

Once the wreath was good and dry, I inked the pretty bow from Wishing You Well in Versamark Ink and then sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it with my Heat Tool.

I matted the panel on Basic Black and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a small piece of Very Vanilla card stock, I heat embossed the bow twice in Gold.  I fussy cut the two “loops” from one of the images and the “tails” from the other.  Then I used Liquid Glue and Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to add them atop the bow on the wreath for some dimension!

I added some Gold Metallic Pearls to the wreath – and one next to the sentiment – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added another Wishing You Well bow in heat embossed Gold and a Farmhouse Christmas sentiment in Cherry Cobbler on a Very Vanilla panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and then into my Mossy Meadow card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got two more gold-heat-embossed bows from Wishing You Well on the front…

…and a little more Festive Farmhouse DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The wreath in Wishing You Well is beautiful all by itself – but…I think it really POPS when it’s thickened up and made “bushy” with the wreath-stamping technique, don’t you?  I hope you’ll give it a try – and we may do one some Sunday night soon!  And that bow will forever be one of my favorite things!  Hope you like!

Now that you’ve seen my card, I hope you’ll take a little time to jump thru all the other projects we have to share. Click any name below, or you can use the Previous Blog button to jump to Sue’s page or the Next Blog button to see what Karen’s been up to!

Stampin’ Up! Christmas Traditions Pop-Up Gift Card Holder

Morning, y’all!  Happy Monday!  I, for one, am hoping that we woke up to some sunshine and a little warmth today.  The entire weekend was entirely too yucky for us – wet and nasty.  It was the kind of weekend where you just wanted to roll over and stay in bed.  Maybe with some kind soul bringing a cup of hot chocolate.  And maybe a cookie.

Or twelve! 😉

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video – I appreciate you spending some of your weekend with me!  If not, but would like to see how to make the pop-up gift card holder we worked on, here’s the replay!  Oh – and the last 30 minutes is all 2019 Occasions and Sale-A-Bration Catalogs Sneak Peeks!  Just sayin!

If you go out on Pinterest, you’ll find all kinds of gift card holders – and several different folks with different ways to make this pop-up version.  I took my guidance from Kristy Coromandel in Australia!

I used the cute Christmas Traditions stamp set and punch from the Christmas Traditions Punch Box in the Holiday Catalog to make mine – paired with some Festive Farmhouse DSP.  Take a look-see:

But the fun happens when you slide off the 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim belly band…

This one – and the others that I made last week and will show you in a second – are made with Festive Farmhouse DSP – but obviously you could change DSPs to fit a different time of year!

I used the Christmas Traditions stamp set and Punch – which come in the Christmas Traditions Punch Box.  When you buy that set, you’ll get the 6-sentiment stamp set, the Punch, a beautiful keepsake-quality 8″ square tin box to hold your supplies or creations, and a Call Me Clover and Read Red Classic Stampin’ Spot!  Whoo-hoo!!

Each card holder starts with a 4″ x 9 1/2″ piece of DSP, scored – with your trimmer or Simply Scored board – and folded…

The solid lines are folded as “valleys” and the dotted line is a “mountain” – and it’s also where you’re going to cut to create the slot for your gift card!  The video will show you exactly what I’m talking about!

My video sample used the Christmas Traditions Punch for the middle section, but you could use almost any punch that’s the right size.   On this one, I used the Darling Label punch!

These are so quick to put together – then you can decorate all willy and nilly!

I used some 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim for the belly band and bow – and some little Mossy Meadow pine boughs cut with the Night Owl Thinlits!

Take a look at some other holders I made!

I used a Galvanized Metal Button for mine – but you could use a True Gentleman Button just as easily and it would look great!

So…I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve got some folks on my list who bamboozle me a bit when it comes to picking gifts!  And – gift cards are always right.  Always the right size.  The right color.  But…sometimes they feel (to me!) like I’m sort of phoning it in – know what I mean?  On the other hand, a fun way to present the gift card helps to make it fun and a little more personal.  This one – that pops your gift card up as soon as the gift-ee opens it – is really fun!  And made even easier with the Christmas Traditions Punch Box stamp set and matching punch!  Hope you like!

AND – the Christmas Traditions Punch Box is on SALE in the Year End Clearance!  Check it out and snap it up, y’all!
