Stampin’ Up! Black Magic Artistically Asian Butterflies

Well, good Tuesday morning from California! My trip yesterday was uneventful and I even managed to change seats so I was on the aisle. And I watched Dr. Strange and Keeping Up With The Joneses. So, all in all, it was fine.

My card for today uses a technique called Black Magic – and this one uses Whisper White Craft Ink and the new Watercolor Pencils. I learned the technique from a video that Sandi MacIver did! You can go see her great video here. I may do a video on this one day, but I’ll need a lot more practice to be as good at it as Sandi is!

I decided to use the Artistically Asian stamp set and a butterfly from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set! Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Glimmer Succulent and All Things Thanks!

Happy Monday, y’all. When you read this, I’ll either be loading up to head to the airport, or laying on my bed in the fetal position, sucking my thumb and wailing….”I DON’T WANNA GO!!” 🙂

Cuz…I don’t wanna! Finn doesn’t wanna me to, either! Waaaa!

But. It is what it is, yes? And I’m sure once I get going, all will be well. Right now, though, I’m working my way thru the pre-trip panics!

Hey, y’all – hope you’re already up and at ’em on your Sunday! And that the weather is good where you are! If you’re shoveling snow this morning…I’m sorry! We got a chill overnight – yesterday I headed out to feed the horses in a t-shirt, this morning it’s back to long sleeves and a hoodie! But still – we don’t have the white stuff, so….it’s all good!

I know a bunch of you have noticed that the Stampin’ Up! website has been down much of today. I’m so sorry for the inconvenience! 🙁

They sent us an update a little bit earlier:
“We are currently working with our systems vendor to get our network back online. Unfortunately, solutions are not working as expected and we do not have an estimated time when we’ll be back online. We’ll continue to keep you updated as we learn more.”

Stampin’ Up! Best Birds and Better Together Sympathy Card

Mornin’, y’all! Happy Friday! Although it wasn’t a 4-day work week for me, it sort of felt like it – Monday was a government holiday and all the government folks had it off – so it was quiet!!

Before we get going – I wanted to say a little something about the videos I’ve promised – just to manage expectations a bit. So…I am going to be doing them, but…it’s going to be a little bit before you see the first one. Mostly cuz I’m going to be out of town for most of next week! I promise I’m going to do them – I’ll try to commit to doing my first one the week after next.

But, you guys have to promise me something! Promise you’ll cut me a little slack for a few videos, okay? I know it’s going to take me a minute to get comfy doing them, so if I sound like a total dork on the first….let’s call it 5 videos..no make it 10! …just smile to yourself and shake your head.

Okay – so for today, I needed a sympathy card to send to Igor, my Russian son. His Russian grandmother passed away last week. 🙁 So I needed a sympathy card. Stampin’ Up! Sunshine Day at the Beach for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Since I needed all my brain power to create something in this color scheme, I let the fine folks over at the Fusion challenge help me with the layout…

Fusion is a cool one – cuz you can do their sketch, their photo inspiration, or both! I used just the sketch.

Duh – right?? 🙂

So – I decided this was a beachy color scheme and pulled out the new Day at the Beach stamp set, and once again turned to the Sunshine Sayings set for my sentiment. Take a look-see:

I got a camera stand yesterday and set it up and did a “practice” run. One day soon I’ll be doing one “for reals” and I’ll let you know where to find them.
