Stampin’ Up! Snowflake Sentiments for Stamp Ink Paper #128

Hey, y’all!  Welcome to Tuesday and another fun challenge from Stamp Ink Paper!  Before we get started, though, let me remind you that the next reservation window for the new Stamparatus is opening today at 2PM Mountain Time!  Be sure to get logged into my Online Store and place your reservation!

Onward! Our Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #128 this week is a theme challenge…

I decided to be a little obvious and used the Snowflake Sentiments and matching Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits.  And I added a little Sheltering Tree.  Take a look-see:

I was also playing along with a couple of challenges to help me with colors and ideas!

The first, from the Global Design Project, was a CASE the Designer challenge.

And the second, from Sunday Stamps, informed the color combination!

So – I started with a piece of the Cherrry Cobbler striped paper from the Be Merry DSP and matted it with Fast Fuse onto a Cherry Cobbler mat.  For the middle panel, I cut a smaller piece of Whisper White card stock.  Using wedges of Stampin’ Sponge, I started with Basic Gray Archival Ink around the top of the panel, and then transitioned to Smoky Slate.  I kept the bottom of the inked area sort of irregular – to look like snow drifts!  Pssst…even though there wasn’t any Pool Party in the challenge colors, I used just a bare touch of it in the gray sky to give it more depth and wintery color!!

Next up, I stamped the bare-limbed tree from the Sheltering Tree stamp set in Basic Gray Archival Ink.  Then I embossed the panel in the Soflty Falling TIEF and matted it on Cherry Cobbler.

The sentiment, from the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set, is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on a piece of Vellum card stock and cut with the largest oval die in the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

I cut some snowflakes with the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits.  The Silver Glimmer Paper snowflakes were cut with the long multi-snowflake die and snipped apart.  I adhered part of one them to the card front – where it would end up under the art panel.  Once it was down, I added the sponged and embossed panel with Fast Fuse and a touch of Liquid Glue (over the Glimmer Paper snowflake).  Then I added the second Silver snowflake with Liquid Glue.

The other snowflakes are cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  I adhered them to the vellum sentiment oval and then used Mini Dimensionals under them and popped the oval onto the card front.

I made a Billie Moan bow with some new Silver Baker’s Twine from the 2018 Occasions Catalog and adhered it with a Glue Dot (and there’s a Mini Dimensional under it, too!).  I stuck one of the Dazzling Diamonds snowflakes on with another Glue Dot and then added a small Clear Facteted Gem.  I also added those Gems to the other snowflakes and the card front was done!

On the inside, I matted more of the Be Merry DSP on Cherry Cobbler and added a Cherry Cobbler-matted smaller Whisper White panel with Fast Fuse.  Then I adhered a Silver Glimmer Paper Swirly Snowflake die cut with Liquid Glue.

I Fast Fuse’d the liner into my Basic Gray card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a snowflake from the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set – heat embossed in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder – on the front…

…and more of the striped paper from the Be Merry DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I sorta love this gray snowy day – and the Softly Falling TIEF really helps it looks like snow drifts building up, don’t you think?  The Snowflake Sentiments stamp set and Swirly Snowflake Thinlits are carrying over at least into the Occasions Catalog – whoo-hoo – but the 10% off bundle price will go away – so grab it now if you don’t have it!!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Thought I’d show you a couple more shots of our meeting yesterday!  We had so much fun – and so did the Man!  Although – he was awfully busy…

Monitoring the activities of his little “flock”…

…wondering what in the world his mom is doing that’s making her look so danged goofy…

…and finally…well.  He’s not in this picture.  He’s behind me snoring.  A guy still has to get his nap time in!!

I just wanted to show you this one – it’s a great shot of us all intently making our Bubble Over cards – that I’ll share with you a little later this week! We have so much fun at our meetings. Wouldn’t you like to join us?!?  🙂

Stampin’ Up! Smitten Mittens and Snowflakes for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! This is Color Challenge week and it’s going to be fun to see what everyone comes up with.   Be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

Our colors this week presented a tiny challenge for me…I brought not one sheet or scrap of Emerald Envy card stock.  Odd, since I brought the ink pad and the Stampin’ Write Marker, but…there you have it!

So, I pulled on my thinking cap (nope – it’s not Emerald Envy either!) and decided I could use some paper from the Christmas Around the World DSP and make a little something with the Smitten Mittens bundle.  Take a look-see:

LOL – not a lot of Emerald Envy, but it you squint and look real close…it’s there! 🙂

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock that I ran thru the Big Shot in the Cable Knit Dynamic TIEF and matted on a piece of Real Red with Fast Fuse.

The next layer is from the Christmas Around the World DSP – I cut it larger than I wanted and then cut one edge with the long die in the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits set.  I adhered that smack over top of the embossed Whisper White panel with Liquid Glue.

I used some more Liquid Glue to adhere a silver Foil Snowflake to the card front.

For my mittens, I cut out two of them with the dies in the Many Mittens Framelits from Whisper White card stock and ran them both thru the Big Shot in the Cable Knit Dynamic TIEF.  I made little “cuffs” with the cutting die in the set – then embossed them with a second die that made the “ribbing” impression.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere them to the mittens.

Using the snowflake die from Swirly Snowflakes, I cut two snowflakes from Red Glimmer Paper.  For the other two, in an effort to get some Emerald Envy into the mix, I used my Stampin’ Write Marker to color a piece of Whisper White card stock, then I cut two more snowflakes – now in Emerald Envy! 🙂

I adhered the snowflakes together and then to the mittens with Liquid Glue.  For the “mitten string”, I tied a bow with some silver Mini Tinsel Trim and adhered the long tails to the back of each mitten with a Glue Dot.

I made the sentiment by inking the word from the Smitten Mitten set directly with my Emerald Envy Stampin’ Write Marker and stamping it on a strip of Whisper White.  I snipped a banner in one end, edged the strip with my Emerald Envy Marker and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

The mitten on the right is adhered with Liquid Glue directly to the card front and the left is popped over the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I finished the card off with a few silver Metallic Enamel Shapes and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Smitten Mittens in Pool Party ink on a Whisper White panel.  Then I added two Real Red mittens and a couple of silver heart-shaped Metallic Enamel Shapes.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Real Red mat and into my Pool Party card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got two more Real Red Smitten Mittens on the front – along with a couple silver heart-shaped Metallic Enamel Shapes…

…and I added some more of the Christmas Around the World DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Okay – I’m a little smitten with this card!  The Cable Knit Dynamic TIEF just makes the Smitten Mittens so cozy and warm, don’t you think??  And the Swirly Snowflakes tie in perfectly.  I hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Feeling of Christmas Cheer

Good Monday, y’all!  Man, was it hard to come back out here yesterday!  Good thing I’d left all my stamping things out at the hotel – if I’d only left clothes…might have sacrificed them and just gone home! 🙂  But, on a brighter note – this is the last Monday post that will come from Utah!  This time next week – I’ll be back where I belong with Wayne and Finn and the kitties and ponies!  Whoo-hoo!

You guys – I’m so sorry about last night!! 🙁  Apparently the cable company is doing some work on the fibers and cables that provide internet service out here.  I’d had good internet all afternoon.  Then when I went to try getting set up for the video….nothing.  Nada.  Zilch.  Went to the front desk and was told about this maintenance going on.  Looks like things could be spotty thru the end of the day on Wednesday.  So – I’m going to do my best to have posts uploaded and working, but…I’ll have to ask for your patience, please.  This one’s totally beyond my control.  Grrrr. 🙁

Assuming I CAN get internet, then this afternoon I’ll be doing a special post with some sneak peeks from the new 2018 Occasions catalog – I’m pretty sure you’re going to want to see that one!  Y’all keep your fingers crossed, okay?!?  But – read down for a SPECIAL announcement!!  You’ll be happy you did!!

I used some of the pretty (and shiny!!) paper from the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP and married it up with the Feeling of Christmas stamp set.  Take a look-see:

The card started with the Year of Cheer DSP, cut to the full size of the front of the Garden Green card base and adhered with Liquid Glue.  I added a second piece to the inside of the card while I was at it! 🙂

The sentiment layer is just a piece of Whisper White – I stamped the wreath image from Feeling of Christmas in Versamark and heat embossed it in Gold.  I edged the panel with my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend and then matted it on a piece of Champagne Foil.

I used my Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends to color the ribbon.  The leaves were colored with Stampin’ Write Markers in Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive and Garden Green.  Using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I added the Feeling of Christmas sentiment in Cherry Cobbler in the middle of the wreath.  Then I popped the whole thing on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut a bunch of small and larger snowflakes using the dies from the Swirly Snowflake Thinlits in Gold and Silver Foil – I adhered them together and then to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I added some gold Metallic Enamel Shapes to the wreath and silver ones on the snowflakes and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Feeling of Christmas in Cherry Cobbler on a Whisper White panel.

I matted the panel on Champagne Foil and Fast Fuse’d it onto my already-decorated inside of the card, and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got two of the swag images from Feeling of Christmas heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on the front.  I used my Stampin’ Write Markers to color the leaves…

…and then I added some more of the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Easy, shiny and beautiful – all with some Year of Cheer Specialty DSP and the lovely images and sentiments from the Feeling of Christmas stamp set.  Hope you like! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Cheery Merry Patterns for the Stamp Ink Paper #123

Good morning!  Welcome to another Tuesday in October – oh my goodness – the last Tuesday in October!  Can’t believe it’s flown by so quickly  – thank you to the folks at Stamp Ink Paper for letting me be a Guest Designer with them this month!!

Our last challenge of the month is a sketch challenge to work with this week – and you can play with it, too! 🙂  Check out this fun sketch, Challenge #123, from Dena.

Now – being that it’s Halloween (!!) I decided to really get with the program and do a Christmas card!  I wanted to give you one last look at the wonderful – and almost gone!! – Merry Patterns stamp set.  Which I paired with some shiny Foil papers and Year of Cheer Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock and embossed it in the Winter Wonder TIEF, then matted it on a piece of Copper Foil for the card front.  The next layer is some gold paper from the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP, matted on Copper Foil and adhered with Fast Fuse.

Using the two largest circle dies from the Layering Circles Framelits,  I cut circular frames from Copper, Champagne and Silver Foil Sheets.  Then I used some Liquid Glue to “tack” them together in a wreath (of sorts!!) and adhered them to the DSP panel.

For the sentiment, I cut a small rectangle of Whisper White and heat embossed the Merry Patterns candles onto it – I used Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder for the outline of the candles.  Then I filled them in with Silver and Gold embossing.  The little sentiment, from Merry Patterns, is stamped in Cherry Cobbler on the bottom of the panel.  I used my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker to edge the sentiment and popped it on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

My decorations are from an eclectic group of die sets…  There’s a Gold Glimmer Paper swirly-do from the Swirly Snowflakes, adhered with a little Liquid Glue.  Then I cut a couple of the little branches from the Lantern Builder Framelits – one in Silver and one in Copper Foil – and adhered them on with more Liquid Glue.  Finally, I cut two of the bows – one large and one small – from the Pretty Pines Thinlits in Cherry Cobbler.  I adhered the smaller one on top of the large bow and then to the card front.  To top it all off, I added a silver Metallic Enamel Shape.

On the inside, I went old-school. I just cut a narrow strip of the same Year of Cheer Specialty DSP and matted it on Copper Foil.  Then I adhered it at the bottom of a Whisper White panel.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel onto a Copper Foil mat and into my Cherry Cobbler card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a few strips of Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape across the front…

…and a little more of the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  A white and mixed-metals Christmas card with just some pops of Cherry Cobbler!  I’ve loved the candles in Red and Green, in Blue and Green – and now, all shiny and gorgeous in Silver and Gold!  I hope you like!

This is the very last day to qualify for the Merry Patterns stamp set!  Scroll on down to see what you need to do.  While you’re at it – make one last swing thru the DSP sale (buy-three-get-one-free!) and get yourself stocked up!! 🙂  Two good things going away on the same day….tsk tsk.  Don’t miss out!!

Stampin’ Up! Gourd Goodness for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a full roster playing with today’s sketch challenge, so be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

Here’s our fun little sketch…

I decided to go vintage-y and Fall-y with the Gourd Goodness stamp set – and a little sentiment from the Merry Cafe set.  Take a look-see:

This layout also works with the challenge over at the Global Design Project this week.

Screen Shot 2017-09-14 at 07.07.05

I started with a Very Vanilla panel and stamped the Marbled Background image on it in Crumb Cake ink.  Then I used the die from the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits to cut the tiny holes across the top and bottom of the panel.  Using the detailed leaf image in Gourd Goodness, I stamped the image in Versamark across the panel, sprinkled it with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed the leaves.  Then I sponged the panel with Crumb Cake ink – darker on the edges, but getting the whole panel.  Once I was happy with it, I used Fast Fuse and Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Old Olive mat.

For my art work, I used the two step pumpkin image from Gourd Goodness, on Very Vanilla.  I stamped the first image in Peekaboo Peach and the second in stamped-off-once Pumpkin Pie.  I cut the image out with an Ovals Layering Framelits die, then tore and sponged the edges in Crumb Cake.

I pulled out the Merry Cafe stamp set and inked just the words Hello Fall in Versamark and stamped it on the oval, sprinkled it with Copper Emboss powder and heated it up.  I liked that so much that I rolled the edges of the torn oval across the Versamark pad and heat embossed that edge in Copper, too.

With a bunch of Glue Dots on the back, I wound Linen Thread in several loops behind the oval then popped it on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Needing some pumpkin stems, I stamped a long one and a short one in Old Olive on Very Vanilla (these are two-step stamps, too) and gave them a quick fussy cut.  Then I added them with a dab of Liquid Glue.

I added a length of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon and a short piece of 1/4″ Copper Trim (that I’d pulled apart into a net) across the art oval with some Liquid Glue.  Then I tied a bow with more Copper Trim – also pulled into a net – and added it with a Glue Dot.  And that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I cut the strip across the top and bottom of a Very Vanilla panel with the die from the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits.  Then I added the detailed leaf image from Gourd Goodness up the side of the panel in Crumb Cake and sponged the whole panel in Crumb Cake.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to an Old Olive mat and into my Pumpkin Pie card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

The Front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more of the Gourd Goodness leaves and some sponging in Crumb Cake…

…and I masked off the envelope flap with sticky notes and stamped the Marbled background in Crumb Cake, and added more Good Goodness leaves and some sponging.

Et Voila!  I like how the Gourd Goodness pumpkins pop against the subdued Crumb Cake tones on the rest of the card.  And those images are so life-like, don’t you think?  Hope you like!
