Good morning everyone and welcome to the Fun Folds Blog Hop for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators! We’ve got a talented line-up and…I think you’re going to like what you see! This is a once-a-month hop and…all our cards will be fun folds!! How cool is that?!?
I saw a really cute side-step fun fold created by Laura Krauss and decided to do my own spin on it! Both our cards feature the Playing in the Rain stamp set and dies, with an assist from the Rain or Shine Specialty DSP! Take a look-see:
I started with a 5 1/2″ x 8″ piece of Balmy Blue that I scored at 3″, 6″ and 7″ on the long side. I folded the score lines as a Mountain, Valley, Mountain.
I adhered a piece of the Rain or Shine Specialty DSP on Old Olive and adhered it to the front panel of the easel using Liquid Glue. I matted a narrow strip of a second design on Old Olive and adhered it to the narrow bottom panel of the card base.
I created the side step card from a 3 1/4″ x 9″ piece of Balmy Blue, scored and folded at 4 1/2″.
I matted a piece of the rainy design from Rain or Shine Specialty DSP on Old Olive and then adhered it to the front of the side step card.
Using a frame from the Fabulous Frames die set – I cut a Silver Foil Frame and then cut a second one from Basic White. I kept the “inside” rectangle that resulted – and set the white frame aside for another card.
I embossed the white “inside” in the Raindrops Embossing Folder and adhered it to the small card front I’d just made using Liquid Glue. Then I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the Silver Foil frame in place.
I used the Playing in the Rain die to cut out a cute dancing bunny from the Rain or Shine Specialty DSP – and adhered it inside the frame with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the sentiment from Playing in the Rain in Old Olive ink and cut it out with the next-to-smallest square Stylish Shapes die. I adhered it to the easel with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Note – place the side step card where you want it to end up, close up the card and center the sentiment between the edge of the card base and the side step.
I matted another piece of Rain or Shine Specialty DSP on Old Olive and adhered it to the back of the easel. with Liquid Glue.
I stamped the small flowers image from Playing in the Rain set in Old Olive a couple of times on the bottom of a Basic White panel. I colored the flower centers with my Dark Polished Pink Stampin’ Blend, a few of the flowers with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend and the leaves with the Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blend.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Old Olive mat and then to the back of the side step card.
Using Liquid Glue on the bottom of the front of the side step panel, I adhered the front of the side step to the front of the easel. Then I closed the card up and used more Liquid Glue to adhere the back of the side step to the back of the easel card.
I used my Take Your Pick Tool and a little bit of Liquid Glue to adhere a few Loose Daisy Embellishments to the sentiment and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the small Playing in the Rain flowers across the front…
…and more of the Rain or Shine Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I love this side step card – it’s so fun! With all the pretty spots to display our DSP – it’s a perfect platform for the Rain or Shine Specialty DSP, which is absolutely gorgeous! And the Fabulous Frames set let me spotlight that adorable Playing in the Rain dancing bunny!
I hope you like!
