Stampin’ Up! Pines and Large Numbers for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  It’s a color week for the last week – and last Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! – of 2017! Can you even believe it!?  Be sure to check out all the ladies’ projects before we slide into 2018, won’t you?

Here’s the color scheme we’re working with today:

I went pretty obvious for the week of the year we’re in.  Yup!  New Years.  I used some Large Number Framelits and a few Christmas Happiness/Pretty Pines to celebrate the arrival of 2018!  And…there’s another little sneak peek of the Celebrate You Thinlits – a free goody when Sale-A-Bration starts next week!  Take a look-see:

I started with a panel of Copper Foil and cut the four numbers from the Large Numbers Framelits – making sure to hang on to the cut out pieces.

I laid the cut panel into my Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF – and added the little cut out pieces, too – and then embossed the whole thing.  I used Fast Fuse and Liquid Glue to adhere the cut and embossed panel to a Whisper White mat.

I cut more numbers from some Thick Whisper White card stock – three more of each number, to be exact.  Then I made stacks with Liquid Glue and glued the stacked numbers back into their spots.  Then I used more Liquid Glue to add the little cut out pieces back into their spaces.

Using the Celebrate die from the Celebrate You Thinlits (available on 3 Jan), I cut the sentiment from some Silver Foil and adhered it over the numbers with little bits of Liquid Glue.

To decorate the card, I pulled out my Pretty Pines Thinlits and cut some pine boughs, a pine cone and some berries from Silver Glimmer Paper and Whisper White card stock.  For the Silver Glimmer pine cone, I adhered it to a scrap of Whisper White with Liquid Glue and fussy cut it.

I looped a short length of Silver Mini Sequin Trim around, sticking it on with Liquid Glue, then I added the Pretty Pines die cuts over top.

I made a Billie Moan bow with some new Silver Baker’s Twine (get it on 3 Jan) and stuck it on with a Glue Dot.  And – that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I used Smoky Slate ink – stamped off once – to add a Christmas Happiness pine bough in the center of a Whisper White panel.  Over that, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to stamp a sentiment from the Season of Whimsy Host stamp set (available right now – but…only for a few more days!) in Versamark.  I sprinkled it with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it with my Heat Tool.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Whisper White mat and into my Thick Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

The front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope got a few stamped off once or twice Smoky Slate pine boughs from Christmas Happiness…

…and I embossed the envelope flap in the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF.

Et Voila!  Large Numbers Framelits and Pretty Pines in mixed metals to welcome the new year!  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Season of Whimsy & Pines for the Stamp Ink Paper #129

Hey, y’all!  Welcome to Tuesday and another fun challenge from Stamp Ink Paper!

Our Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #129 this week is a color challenge…

I pulled out the fun Host set called Season of Whimsy from the 2017 Holiday Catalog for this one and added some pine boughs from the Pretty Pines Thinlits.  Take a look-see:

This card also played along quite nicely with the FabFriday challenge this week.

I started this one with a piece of gold plaid paper from the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP matted on Cherry Cobbler card stock for the card front.  Then I cut a piece of Wood Textures DSP, matted it on Cherry Cobbler and Fast Fuse’d it to the card front.

I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add the sentiment from the Season of Whimsy set in Versamark Ink, sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it with my Heat Tool.

On a piece of scrap Whisper White card stock, I stamped the three Season of Whimsy ornaments in Versamark and heat embossed them in Gold.  Then I colored each of them with my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker and fussy cut them.

I cut a bunch of Pretty Pines Thinlits pine boughs in Lemon Lime Twist and Garden Green, and a couple of Cherry Cobbler berries, too!

I built my little “scene” by adhering the pine boughs with Liquid Glue and interspersing the Season of Whimsy ornaments amongst them.  I used a couple of Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the final largest ornament.

I tied a small bow from a piece of Lemon Lime Twist 1/4″ Ombre Ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  To finish things off, I added a few gold Metallic Enamel Shapes!

On the inside, I left the liner blank, simply repeating the layers on the front of the card.  I matted a piece of Year of Cheer Specialty DSP on Cherry Cobbler and, over that, Fast Fuse’d a Cherry Cobbler matted piece of Whisper White.

I Fast Fuse’d the layered panels into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Gold embossed ornament from Season of Whimsy on the front – colored with the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker…

…and a little more of the Wood Textures DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  A couple of greens and some Cherry Cobbler to make a wonderful Pretty Pine-filled display of Christmas ornaments courtesy of the Season of Whimsy stamp set!  I hope you like!

Season of Whimsy is on the retiring list – so, if you love it (and why wouldn’t you??) – now’s the time to get it.  Holler at me and ask me how! 🙂

Finn Fan Fix

So – one of the fun things that happened to the Man this past weekend was meeting Lucky.

Lucky lives there in North Carolina.

Lucky and Finn hit it off immediately!  Of course, Lucky may have wished Finn had a smidge less energy – he was a bit worn out by the time the play date ended.

Hard to imagine….

really…

…airs above the ground…

This kind of play takes a toll, people.  Even on a youngster Aussie!

He said a fond adieu to Lucky and I think they made tentative plans for a re-match in the near future!  And then he climbed in the truck to recuperate!

Stampin’ Up! Three Merry Little Labels Gift Tags for the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #127

Hey, y’all!  Welcome to Tuesday and another fun challenge from Stamp Ink Paper!

Our Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #127 this week is a theme challenge – All Wrapped Up!

I decided it would be fun to make three identical – and yet…not! – gift tags using the Merry Little Labels and the bundled Everyday Label punch.  Take a look-see:

There’s a style for any kind of Christmas.  Woodsy, Traditional, and Glam!  And they’re all made exactly the same way.  Let’s go!

We’ll start with my favorite – the Woodsy tag.  Did you doubt that would be my fave?

I used the Lots of Labels Framelits to cut the large “tag” from a piece of Crumb Cake card stock.  With my Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker, I added some “stitches” around the edge.  With a smaller die in the same framelits, I cut a piece of Merry Little Christmas DSP and adhered it with Liquid Glue.  I punched a hole in the top of the tag with my 1/8″ Handheld Circle Punch.

The sentiment – from Merry Little Labels – is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Crumb Cake and then cut with the Everyday Label Punch.  Before popping it on the front of the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals, I added a little something to the back of the tag.

That sentiment – also from Merry Little Labels – is heat embossed in White.  Then I used my Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler Dark Stampin’ Blends to lightly add a little color to the holly.

For the embellishment on the front, I cut a couple of short boughs with the Pretty Pines Thinlits, from the same Old Olive/Black plaid Merry Little Christmas DSP that I’d used on the front and adhered them with Liquid Glue.  I looped some Jute Twine thru the hole I’d punched at the top and tied it in a simple knot.  Then I tied a bow and added it with a Glue Dot!  Done!

The other two tags were made the same way – just using slightly different ingredients!

For the traditional tag:

  • Tag base – Real Red card stock with Basic Black “stitches”
  • Middle layer – Old Olive design from Merry Little Christmas DSP.
  • Sentiment – White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Real Red
  • Ribbon – Old Olive 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon
  • Embellishment – a tiny white bow from the Season of Glitz Mini Gift Bows

And finally, the glam tag!

  • Tag Base – Whisper White card stock with Basic Black “stitches”
  • Middle Layer – Black and White design from Merry Little Christmas DSP
  • Sentiment – Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Whisper White
  • Ribbon – Silver Mini Tinsel Trim
  • Embellishment – two “berries” from the Pretty Pines Thinlits cut from Silver Foil

So – whether you’re a woodsy/homespun Christmas person, more traditional green and red or someone who loves the glitter and shine…Merry Little Labels and the Everyday Punch are your ticket to quick and gorgeous gift tags!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

This morning, we had some errands to run so, after our morning ablutions, we put the Man in his kennel.

To be clear, I mean Finn! 🙂

Upon our return, he did his usual meet-and-greet, got a quick drink and headed out to the golf cart.

It’s what he does!

Later, though, he decided he’d come and see what we were up to.

And take a nap.

It’s what he does!

Would that we were all that cute when we slept! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Color Me Happy Pretty Pines

Good….Friday, y’all!  Hope you’ve had a great week and are ready for a weekend!

OnStage has been great so far…and wait until you get a gander at the new 2018 Occasions Catalog!  I’m so excited for you to get to see it!  Soon! 🙂

For today, I have a fun little pine-y Thank You card to share – it uses the large sentiment from the new Color Me Happy stamp set, a little Christmas Happiness and Pretty Pines die cuts and some Christmas Around the World DSP.  Take a look-see:

I played along with The Paper Players theme challenge this week:

I started with a Basic Black card base.  Then I cut two pieces of the plaid Christmas Around the World DSP to the exact size as the card – each is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere one sheet on the front of the card and the second sheet on the inside.  You’ll see how that ended up in a little bit.

Next up, I cut a smaller panel of Very Vanilla card stock and, using the splatter image in Touches of Texture, stamped it in Soft Suede a  couple of times – not re-inking between the stamps.

With my Christmas Happiness stamp set, I stamped a couple of pine boughs in Garden Green over the top of my splatters.  I added the medium size pine cone – the outline shape is in Early Espresso and the fill is Soft Suede.  Then I matted the panel on a piece of Garden Green card stock.

For my sentiment, I used the large Thank You in the new Color Me Happy stamp set, stamping it in Early Espresso on a piece of Wood Textures DSP.  Then I fussy cut just the “Thanks”.

I adhered the cut sentiment to the stamped panel with Liquid Glue.  Then, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I stamped just the work “you” under the sentiment in Early Espresso.

With the shortest pine bough die in the Pretty Pines Thinlits, I cut a couple of Garden Green pine boughs and adhered them with some Liquid Glue under the sentiment.   Then I cut a length of Jute Twine and unwound it – so I had three thinner strands.  With one of those strands, I tied a little bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

I added three Black Rhinestone Jewels to the panel and popped it over the plaid card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On the inside, I cut another of the short pine boughs from Pretty Pines out of the corner of a Very Vanilla panel.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Garden Green mat and into the card base – you can see where I’d already adhered the Christmas Around the World DSP!  And that was it for the card base!

My Very Vanilla Medium envelope got some more Garden Green, Early Espresso and Soft Suede Christmas Happiness pine boughs and cone on the front…

…and some more Christmas Around the World Mary’s-Favorite-Plaid-Paper on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  So – wood.  Pine boughs.  Pine Cones.  PLAID!  Hello??  Gotta love the Christmas Happiness stamp set and the Pretty Pines Thinlits, right?  And look how the Color Me Happy sentiment just slides right in there!!  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Cheery Merry Patterns for the Stamp Ink Paper #123

Good morning!  Welcome to another Tuesday in October – oh my goodness – the last Tuesday in October!  Can’t believe it’s flown by so quickly  – thank you to the folks at Stamp Ink Paper for letting me be a Guest Designer with them this month!!

Our last challenge of the month is a sketch challenge to work with this week – and you can play with it, too! 🙂  Check out this fun sketch, Challenge #123, from Dena.

Now – being that it’s Halloween (!!) I decided to really get with the program and do a Christmas card!  I wanted to give you one last look at the wonderful – and almost gone!! – Merry Patterns stamp set.  Which I paired with some shiny Foil papers and Year of Cheer Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock and embossed it in the Winter Wonder TIEF, then matted it on a piece of Copper Foil for the card front.  The next layer is some gold paper from the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP, matted on Copper Foil and adhered with Fast Fuse.

Using the two largest circle dies from the Layering Circles Framelits,  I cut circular frames from Copper, Champagne and Silver Foil Sheets.  Then I used some Liquid Glue to “tack” them together in a wreath (of sorts!!) and adhered them to the DSP panel.

For the sentiment, I cut a small rectangle of Whisper White and heat embossed the Merry Patterns candles onto it – I used Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder for the outline of the candles.  Then I filled them in with Silver and Gold embossing.  The little sentiment, from Merry Patterns, is stamped in Cherry Cobbler on the bottom of the panel.  I used my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker to edge the sentiment and popped it on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

My decorations are from an eclectic group of die sets…  There’s a Gold Glimmer Paper swirly-do from the Swirly Snowflakes, adhered with a little Liquid Glue.  Then I cut a couple of the little branches from the Lantern Builder Framelits – one in Silver and one in Copper Foil – and adhered them on with more Liquid Glue.  Finally, I cut two of the bows – one large and one small – from the Pretty Pines Thinlits in Cherry Cobbler.  I adhered the smaller one on top of the large bow and then to the card front.  To top it all off, I added a silver Metallic Enamel Shape.

On the inside, I went old-school. I just cut a narrow strip of the same Year of Cheer Specialty DSP and matted it on Copper Foil.  Then I adhered it at the bottom of a Whisper White panel.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel onto a Copper Foil mat and into my Cherry Cobbler card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a few strips of Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape across the front…

…and a little more of the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  A white and mixed-metals Christmas card with just some pops of Cherry Cobbler!  I’ve loved the candles in Red and Green, in Blue and Green – and now, all shiny and gorgeous in Silver and Gold!  I hope you like!

This is the very last day to qualify for the Merry Patterns stamp set!  Scroll on down to see what you need to do.  While you’re at it – make one last swing thru the DSP sale (buy-three-get-one-free!) and get yourself stocked up!! 🙂  Two good things going away on the same day….tsk tsk.  Don’t miss out!!
