Stampin’ Up! Full Up Finn Fan Fix…Finally!

Good morning, y’all…from Georgia!  Whoo-hoo!!

Got home in decent time yesterday, unpacked, took the card back.

Just to be clear – “unpacked” means…got the stuff out of the car and into the house.  Not “unpacked” as in all the stuff back where it belongs! 🙂

Oh – and petted a certain four-legged little man…

And y’all – then I just flat crashed.

No – I didn’t go to bed.  I just sort of…powered down.

I had a card all ready to share, but…yes.  It’s still packed away in my boxes.

So – I was hoping you’d be happy with a few pictures of my dude. 🙂

While I made a little bit of hummingbird food – he kept a pretty steady eye on me!

I did spend a few minutes brushing him.  Apparently Aussies “blow” their coat once or twice a year.  And it seems he decided to do that while I was gone.  But the lady with the Furminator (me!) wasn’t around.  So he needed some brushing in a big way!  I got a whole grocery bag full of hair. And there’s more to be done.  Leo (the kitty) wanted some Furminator time, too – so he got in on the action.  When Jelly-Belly would let him!

After the brushing – it was…

…which led quickly to…

The tongue.  He’s quick with it!  And once he found my ear…weeeet willllllyyyy!!! 🙂

Finally, he grew weary of that and hopped down.  And brought me his new Alaskan Elk antler chewy!  This is from my awesome upline Amy as a part of a Whoo-hoo-you-earned-the-cruise-to-Alaska gift!  She sent me a gift in Florida and also sent one here to Wayne and Finn.  How cool was that!?  He loves this chew and it’s even better if someone holds it for you while you gnaw it!

Finally we had a little dinner and fed the horses.  And Finn went to bed!

It’s awfully good to be home, I must say!  And I’m looking forward to unpacking and getting my “spot” set back up!

I’ve got a fun little card to share with you on Sunday – look for a sneak peek in the morning, and then we’ll make it on Sunday evening on my Facebook Live video!

Thanks for letting Finn take center stage today. 🙂  He’s a helper, isn’t he??

Stampin’ Up! A Summer Bike Ride for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop!

Good mornin’, y’all – welcome to another edition of Amy’s Inkin’ Knew team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month is Celebrate Summer!!  We were given free rein to interpret that any way we liked….so, be sure to check out all the ladies’ blogs.  I know you’re going to see some awesome projects!

Being down here in Florida for this one, my mind sort of went to bike rides on the beach.  And, handily enough, we have a brand new stamp set and bundle that just’s the thing!  I used the Bike Ride stamp set and bundled Build A Bike Framelits for my offering today – take a look-see:

My layout and design elements were inspired by the sketch and photo from this week’s Fusion challenge.

I started with one of my very favorite wood designs in the Wood Textures DSP Stack – matting it on a piece of So Saffron card stock – for the card front.

Next up, I made two more – smaller – panels to work with the sketch (you can see I turned the sketch on its side), both are matted on So Saffron.  First, I adhered a length of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon to the card front with Liquid Glue.  Then I SNAILd the first panel (which is another piece of Wood Textures DSP) over the top.

To build my “beach sign” I used a piece of Smoky Slate card stock and adhered four strips of colored card stock to it.  I used Tempting Turquoise, Flirty Flamingo, Bermuda Bay and Calypso Coral – and I lightly sponged their edges with Crumb Cake.  I adhered them all to the Smoky Slate panel and then ran the whole thing thru my Big Shot in the Pinewood Planks TIEF.

Then I stamped a sentiment from the Pieces & Patterns stamp set in Calypso Coral on the top “board”.  Upon further reflection – it would have been a little easier to stamp my sentiment and THEN emboss it in the TIEF.  But this way worked, too – although I did have to do a little touch up with my Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Marker. 😉  I adhered it to its So Saffron mat and added it to the card front with Fast Fuse.

And then it was Build a Bike (framelit) time!  I stamped the parts of the bike on Whisper White, using a bunch of the fun images in the Bike Ride stamp set.  The bike is in So Saffron, with Smoky Slate and Bermuda Bay tires.  I cut the front basket from a piece of Smoky Slate card stock.  The dog, books and flowers bunches were all stamped in Chocolate Chip and then colored with various Stampin’ Write Markers (So Saffron, Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight).  I even cut some So Saffron “streamers” and adhered them to the handlebars!

I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the bike on top of my “beach sign” – then added the books and pooch with Dimensionals and the two flower bunches with Liquid Glue and Dimensionals.  The final touch is a tiny Linen Thread bow, adhered with a dab of Liquid Glue.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I added another flower bunch from the Bike Ride stamp set in Chocolate Chip – and colored it in with Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo Markers – to a Whisper White panel.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a So Saffron mat and into my Chocolate Chip card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Bike Ride flower bunch on the front…

…and I added some more Wood Textures DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I think a bike ride on the beach – with my books, some flowers and my dog (pretend it’s Finn!)  – would be a nice way to spend a summer day.  Except for the lack of air conditioning! 😉  So…I’ll get my beach ride fix with the cool new Bike Ride stamp set and Build a Bike Framelits!  Hope you like!

Scroll on down for the card cuts and all the products you’ll need to make this one for yourself!

Now that you’ve seen my card, I hope you’ll take a little time to jump thru all the other projects we have to share. Click any name below, or you can use the Previous Blog button to jump to Jaimie’s page or the Next Blog button to see what Sue’s been up to!

Stampin’ Up! Daisy Punch Temporarily Unavailable Starting Tomorrow 7 July!

The Daisy Punch is on backorder again. 😦

Extraordinarily, the demand for this punch has not died down at all; in fact, this is our highest selling punch in the last five years.

The next order of punches will arrive approximately August 1, 2017. Because of the very high cost of taking backorders and the amount of time until the next order arrives, we will be making the Daisy Punch (and all associated bundles) unorderable beginning Friday, July 7, at 8:00 AM (MT).

So if you would like to order the Daisy Punch or the Daisy Delight Bundle during the month of July (please note, the punch is already backordered and will not arrive until around August 1), place your order within the next few hours.  The numbers will be turned off for ordering tomorrow morning and won’t be turned back on until the shipment of punches is received around August 1.

Stampin’ Up! This Little Piggy that Did for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  We’ve got a full complement of bloggers for you today, so be sure to check them all out and see how everyone handled our sketch challenge this week!

Here’s what we played with:

And I decided to use the oh-so-uber-cute This Little Piggy stamp set – and a couple of sentiments in it that really sort of seemed right this week!  Take a look-see:

This one was quick – easy – and fun!  The Trifecta!

I started with a piece of my favorite Wood Textures DSP and matted it on Powder Pink card stock.

The art work is a piece of Whisper White, cut with a circle Stitched Shapes Framelits die (the largest one) and matted on a Powder Pink Scallop circle, cut with the largest scallop die in Circles Layering Framelits.

I stamped the flying piggy in Early Espresso ink on the Whisper White circle.  Using an older Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, and picking up ink from the lid of my Powder Pink stamp pad, I colored her.  I used another Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to color her wings and little tiny hooves.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere the art to my card front.

My sentiment banner is a strip of Whisper White, with a banner end cut with my Paper Snips.  I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to stamp the This Little Piggy sentiment in Early Espresso onto the strip (I covered the piggy with a sticky note).  It’s matted on another bannerized strip (in Powder Pink) and popped over the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I thought she needed a few friends, so I cut three of the adorable little butterfly shapes from the Build a Bike Framelits in Powder Pink card stock – brushed them all with my Clear Wink and adhered them with Liquid Glue.  The final touch is a double-bow from Flirty Flamingo Baker’s Twine, adhered with a dab of Liquid Glue.

On the inside, I added another This Little Piggy sentiment in Early Espresso to a Whisper White panel.  Then I stamped a few cloud images from the set in stamped-off-once Powder Pink.  Finally – one more Build a Bike butterfly in Powder Pink card stock.

I SNAILd the panel to a Powder Pink mat and into my Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got three more flying piggies across the front in Early Espresso – colored with Powder Pink using the Clear Wink brush…

…and a little more of the Wood Textures DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This Little Piggy believed she could and so she did.  I love the little smile on her face – she looks a little smug and a lot happy.  And – she pretty much had to have a butterfly on her nose, now didn’t she – so it’s handy there was one just the right size in the Build a Bike Framelits!  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Sweethearts and Tulips for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  Although a few ladies are off on vacation, we’ve still got some fun projects for y’all.

We had a color challenge this week – and here ’tis.  Pretty!

My card is the result of more mind changing and dithering.  I had a sketch in my head – but when I started actually making the card…about all I stuck with was the Sweetheart TIEF and the Tranquil Tulips.  When it came right down to it – I used a sentiment from the Lovely Words Thinlits and some Eastern Palace Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

I started with a piece of the Lemon Lime Twist paper from the Eastern Palace Specialty DSP as a mat (yes – a paper mat!).  The card front itself is a piece of Thick Whisper White card stock that I embossed in the new Sweetheart TIEF.  Using a Sweet & Sassy Framelits die (it’s the one that cut the entire un-embossed heart out of the panel!), I cut the heart out of the panel and SNAILd the whole thing to the Eastern Palace DSP. The card focuses on the super pretty Eastern Medallion Suite – with the Eastern Beauty stamp set and the Eastern Medallion Thinlits taking front and center.  I added some pretty paper from the Naturally Eclectic DSP.  Take a look-see:

I played along with a color challenge at My Favorite Things. Continue reading

Stampin’ Up! Friendly Orange Blossoms for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  It’s sketch week so be sure to hop thru all our blogs when you get done here and see how we all interpreted the challenge! 🙂

Speaking of – here it is:

I also played along with the Sunday Stamps color challenge…

We were to use at least 3 of the colors.  I think, using the Orange Blossom stamp set and a little bit of Wood Textures DSP that I did that.  And maybe a few more!  Take a look-see:

I started with a panel of Whisper White card stock and stamped a bunch of the pretty images from the new Orange Blossom stamp set all over it.  I used Flirty Flamingo for the large flowers – stamping it twice without re-inking.  I also used Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, Peekaboo Peach and Sweet Sugarplum.  Once I had it stamped all over, I matted it on Sweet Sugarplum card stock. Stampin’ Up! Freshly Elegant Medallions

Mornin’, y’all!  Like any three-day weekend, this one is flying by!  Hope you’re having a good one so far.

So – I’ve got some good news and some bad new for y’all.  Which one do you want first?

My choice is always to get the bad news out of the way first, so…

I know you’ve been watching the Delightful Daisy suite very closely – and no doubt are ready to order it just as soon as the catalog goes live next Thursday.  But.

It turns out that the Daisy Punch has been even more wildly popular than Stampin’ Up! could have anticipated!  And they anticipated high – believe me!  Because of this, the current supply of Daisy Punches has sold out.  To prevent this punch from being in a near-permanent backorder status for the first few months of the catalog, they’ve made the difficult decision to turn off ordering for the Daisy Punch beginning 1 June.  They won’t be accepting any additional orders for this punch until their first shipment arrives the week of June 26 June.  Ordering will be turned off for both the punch and the Daisy Delight Bundle (the Daisy Punch and coordinating stamp set).

So, even though the punch won’t be available for purchase on the 1st, it will be available later in June.  I’ll let y’all know just as soon as I see that the Daisy Punch and Daisy Delight stamp set bundle are available for ordering again.

The good news is that there’s about 200 pages of aweosme-ness in the new catalog, so…I feel pretty confident that you’ll be able to find something that will strike your fancy while you wait for the Daisy Punch!  I know I’ve got two packed pages of somethings to order on the first along with my share order!!  Good thing I’ll be getting that 20% discount!!

My card for today uses the Eastern Medallions Thinlits and the Eastern Beauty stamp set.  This card is what we’ll be making tonight on my Facebook Live video.  I’ll be live at my normal time of 8pm Eastern on my Stamps-N-Lingers Facebook page.  Take a look-see:

My inspiration for this card came from two places.

The first is this photo in The Card Concept challenge:

And I also drew some ideas from Rochelle Blok, the guest designer at the TGIF Challenges this week.

I do hope you’ll join me tonight!!

Finn-Fan Fix…

My puppy is a very smart boy.

Yesterday morning, in a fit of I-don’t-even-know, I mowed the arena.  Wayne had gone fishing and I was just waiting for the horses to finish eating.  Finny and I had done a few rounds already and I was bored with that.  So…I mowed!

It wasn’t too hot, but it wasn’t cool, either.  As I made my round and round and round on the mower, I realized Finny had left me.

So – I whistled him up and here he came.  From the barn.

This happened a few times before I was finished mowing and went to put the mower away.

And look who I found!

Yep – chillaxin’ in the aisle, smack in front of the giant blowing fan.

He did rouse himself for a good game of play-in-the-hose while I rinsed off the mower.

No dummy is my Finny!

Stampin’ Up! Feathery Friendly Tabs & Squares!

Happy Long-Weekend, y’all!  Hope wherever you are will give you a lovely weekend to enjoy outdoors – and not surface-of-the-sun hot, either!  And, please, while you’re preparing for your family picnics and parties on Monday – take a moment to remember the folks still fighting the good fight so we can enjoy our weekend in safety and peace.

So, the other day, when I made the sponged squares card, I actually got about 1/4 of a way thru the card I’m sharing with y’all today.  I had a concept in my head, but…it really needed a few extra colors (remember the sponged window card was working a Green/Gray/White color challenge.  You can see that one right here if you didn’t get to see it before.)  I finally gave up on it – at some point in the day, you have to cut your losses and drive on.  Or do your blog post at midnight! 😉

But – I held on to the squares I’d stamped and cut.  I was using the Host-exclusive stamp set called Feathery Friends and a little of the new Fresh Florals DSP Stack.  When I went to finish it, I added a few sentiment images from the new Tabs For Everything stamp set to make a pretty little card for y’all.  Take a look-see:

This sketch, from the CAS-ual Fridays blogspot, is one I’d been intrigued with since I saw it.

And I figured I’d play along with the Stamp Ink Paper challenge, too.  I mean – I’m a Card Maker.  And this was my choice, so… 🙂

To begin, I stamped the pretty little flower from the Feathery Friends stamp set in Tranquil Tide ink on Whisper White and cut it with the smallest Stitched Shapes square die (that’s about 1 1/8″ square).  I matted each square on a scalloped-edge square cut from a piece of Tranquil Tide paper in the new Fresh Florals DSP Stack.  I did that 8 times in all!

I lightly colored each flower with my Powder Pink Stampin’ Writes Marker – be careful doing this, the Tranquil Tide ink will bleed!  Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere each square to my Whisper White card front.  I left the center square open.

The center, sentiment, square is cut from Whisper White with a second Stitched Shapes Framelits die.  I stamped the little bird from Feathery Friends in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored it with my Tranquil Tide, Powder Pink and yes, Lemon-Lime Twist!!, Stampin’ Write Markers.

For my sentiment, I pulled a couple of words from the handy little Tabs For Everything (avail 1 June!) and stamped them in Tranquil Tide.  This is a photopolymer set, so it was easy to get the words right where I wanted them.

I matted the square on a scalloped-edge square of the Tranquil Tide Fresh Florals DSP and popped it over the top of the other squares with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I adhered the panel to a Powder Pink mat and then wrapped a piece of Powder Pink 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon around it, securing it in the back with scotch tape.  Then I used another short length to tie a “faux bow” – which is just a tight knot around the first piece of ribbon, with the ends trimmed nicely.  And that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I stamped the flowers from Feathery Friends in Tranquil Tide a few times on a Whisper White panel.  Then I colored them with the Powder Pink Stampin’ Write Marker.

I SNAILd the panel to a Powder Pink mat and into my Tranquil Tide card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more of the Feathery Friends flowers across the front…

…and then I added a little more Tranquil Tide Fresh Florals DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I really love this kind of card – with the grid of images.  And I think this one, with the flowers from Feathery Friends, came out just right!  I hope you like!

Finn-Fan Fix…

Our days are driven by routine – it’s a by-product of having animals.  Dog goes out when I get up.

Dog comes in and has a nap.

We feed the horses at 8.  Run the dog around.  Play some bumper.  He goes for a pond.

Let the horses out.  Clean the stalls.

Back inside.  Mom starts her work day on the computer.

Cats beg for food.

Dog eats cat food Mom throws for noisy cats.

Cat settles down for a snooze by the back door – especially when it’s a nice summer day and the door’s open.

That’s Leo.  He’s eyeballing some chipmunks and a few birds.

Finn – checks out breakfast and usually decides he’s not hungry yet.

Time to join the cat in the morning snooze.

That’s our morning,

All the mornings!

Life is good.
