Stampin’ Up! Merry Cafe Hello Fall!

Happy weekend, y’all!  Hope you’re ready to do something fun – or at least useful!  Or…maybe you plan to just rest and recuperate…see a movie?

I am ready for Fall.

I want the leaves to turn, I want to need a t-shirt or long-sleeve in the morning.  I want the ponies to start to get fuzzy and the flies to die.

Yes – die.  I’m sorry, but that’s just how I feel about flies.

In short – I’m done with heat and humidity.  Bring on a little chill!

My card today is a loud and strident collage calling for Fall!  I used the Merry Cafe stamp set (new on 1 Sept) – which so handily works with the Coffee Cups Framelits! – and a few leaves from the new Gourd Goodness stamp set.  Take a look-see:

My layout comes from this week’s MFT Card Challenge. Continue reading

Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Layers Glamper Greetings

Hey, y’all!  Guess what day it is?

No, silly – not Hawwmp Day (thank goodness!) – it’s FRIDAY!!  I say again – thank GOODNESS!!! 🙂

This Sunday is our local All Things Stamping Sale.  Maybe – maybe! – I’ll have everything priced and in some sort of semblance of order and have some sort of shot at getting it all there and set up.  Be thinking good thoughts, y’all!!  I’ll need ’em!

My card for today is the result of another request from my Mom – I like requests.  It helps give me a focus and I need as much focus as I can get these days!  Her friend is leaving soon for vacation.  She’s going hiking and rafting in North India!!

Wow.

So – my mom wanted a card to wish her happy and safe travels.  I immediately thought of the Glamper Greetings stamp set – and went off in a bit of a rabbit hole.  I was determined to use the camper – I finally realized I was trying to force that, and quit.  The card got a lot easier right quick after that!  And I thought the adirondack chair in Seasonal Layers would be cool, too.  And then I saw a fun video from Patty Bennet doing a Glossy Paper “Faux Torn Edge” technique – and I knew what I needed to do.  You can see that video right here – check it – it’s great!  When I put it all together, here’s what I got.  Take a look-see:

My layout was inspired – sort of loosely! – on the challenge at CAS(E) This Sketch.  Turn your computer on its side…you’ll see it! Continue reading

Stampin’ Up! Moon Baby Showers of Happiness for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a full roster for today’s sketch challenge, so be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

Our task this week was to make something for you using three pretty colors.  Check them out!

I decided to let the good folks over at Freshly Made Sketches help me with my layout.

And since the color scheme sort of screamed “Bundle of Love DSP” – and I’m nothing if not a follower – I went the obvious route and made a baby card.  So – it worked out and I played along with the theme challenge at Just Us Girls.

I pulled out Moon Baby and yes, the Bundle of Love Specialty DSP and created a little baby shower card.  Take a look-see:

I’d seen a card out in ether-space a while back using strips of DSP for the card front, so I decided to try that with this one.  I cut 1″ wide strips of Bundle of Love DSP and laid them diagonally across a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  Of course I did not take a picture of that.  Sorry! Stampin’ Up! 2017 Holiday Catalog Shares Open Today!

Happy Hawwmp Day, y’all!  In lieu of a card today, I’m bringing you my Stamps-N-Lingers 2017 Holiday Catalog Shares!

What are catalog shares, you ask?  They’re your chance to try a little bit of everything and see what you like the best – like you’re supposed to do at the Thanksgiving buffet (I usually try a little-bit-more-than-a-little-bit of everything – which is why I have to be on a diet now!!).  And then go back for seconds…erh…buy a full pack or stack or roll!

This new Holiday Catalog has some truly gorgeous Designer Paper – take a look at a quick video from Stampin’ Up! to see them all!

And, of course, there’s new ribbon and trim and fun holiday-themed embellishments!  I’ll share pictures when I have them.  But, trust me on this – they’re fun and you’re going to want at least a taste of everything! 🙂  Shares are open to anyone – including demonstrators, so…check out this episode’s offerings. Stampin’ Up! Pink Sunflowers Autumn Harvest for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop!

Good mornin’, y’all – welcome to another edition of Amy’s Inkin’ Knew team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month is Fall Frenzy!!  We can interpret that any way we want – so…be sure to see how everyone else see’s “Fall”, okay?

I feel a little bad making another card with the new Painted Harvest stamp set (avail 1 Sep) – I mean, I’ll get over it, but….still.  You can’t have it yet – so in a way it’s really kinda mean.

My bad.

Bwaaaahhhaaaahhaaaahaaa!

Of course I do know a way you could get it right now…but that’s for another time.  Unless you want to know now.  In which case – give me a shout!

So I drew some inspiration from two talented ladies for this one.  The first is my friend Linda – over at Cards By Winnie (she’s one of our hoppers today!) – who made a fun card with this set and she made pink sunflowers!  The second was made by the talented Su Mohr and her card (see it right here) inspired the layout.  Take a look-see at what popped out of my brain after these two inspirations.

Now before we go any further – I would never doubt my Master Gardener friend who told us that pink sunflowers do exist, but I knew all you doubting-Tomasina’s might…so I went to the Google and found… Continue reading

Stampin’ Up! I’m Wild About Christmas Happiness!

Morning’, y’all…I’m not even going to say my normal thing about it being Monday.  You know it’s Monday and I know it’s Monday.  So…yea.  It’s Monday.

If you were able to join me last night on Facebook, I appreciate you taking some time with me on your Sunday!  If not, then here’s a link to the video on YouTube in case you want to take a peek.

This card came about at the request of my mom.  She’s got a friend who’ lived in the mountains for a long time and is having to move to Arizona to be closer to their children.  And she’s not feeling very happy about the move!  So…the request was for a mountainy theme card.

Smack in my wheelhouse!

One of the new stamp sets in the 2017 Holiday catalog is called Christmas Happiness.

If you know me at all, you know that this set caught my eye right away.  Yes – pine boughs.  Pine Cones.  Add in Christmas lights – and you’ve got me!

But I didn’t need a Christmas card – I needed a you’re-going-away-you’ll-be-missed-and-I-wish-you-the-best card.  So…I pulled in a little help from the Wild About Flowers stamp set.  Add in some plaid paper from the new Merry Little Christmas DSP and this is what I came up with.  Take a look-see:

My design is inspired by the sketch challenge at MFT Card Challenges – I just turned it on end! Continue reading

Stampin’ Up! I’m Wild About Christmas Happiness – Video Sneak Peek!

Mornin’, y’all!  Happy Sunday – and I hope your weekend is going well!

I’ve spent part of Saturday trying to organize and price 3 years worth of Stampin’ Up! and non-Stampin’ Up! (mostly Tim Holtz goodies) in readiness for next Sunday’s All Things Stamping Sale.  I’m trying to juggle my wish to not just give stuff away and my desire to get it gone! 🙂  And I have to keep the hubby sort of away….his desire to not give it away is far far stronger than his desire to get it gone.  Which just shows ta go ya that he’s a way bigger pack rat than moi.

So…nyah! 😉

If you think you might want to come – let me know!  I’ll send you a map.

So tonight, I’ll be live amidst my mess, and we’ll make a pretty little card I made for my Mom.  It uses some new goodies from the 2017 Holiday Catalog, plus…well.  You’ll see. 🙂  In fact – take a look-see at the sneaky peek!

Yes, it’s got pines…and pinecones…and a little bling…and I sort of love it! (she says modestly!).

So – 8pm Eastern.  Right here on my Stamps-N-Lingers FB page!  Hope to see you then!

Finn-Fan Fix

Finn makes it pretty clear each evening that he wants some lap time.

Not with his dad.

He knows that’s pretty much a dead-end! 🙂

But…Mom.  Well.  Mom is a lot more susceptible to “the look”.

It’s not easy to do a me/dog selfie – cuz it’s pretty critical to guard your mouth.  See the tongue?!?  It’s super fast.  And super wet.  And…I know where it’s been…. so I look like a goober and he just looks cute.

Sometimes I get lucky though…

Stampin’ Up! Lovely Painted Autumn Harvest Sneak Peek

Okay – so we made it!  It’s the weekend!  Whoo-hoo!  And also – whew! 😉

So the problem with a ginormous pre-order (or even a more modest ginornous-adjacent pre-order such as I did) is that it’s darned near impossible to narrow that first card down to one stamp set or bundle.  Obviously I picked the ones I loved the MOST from the new catalog – and that was hard, cuz nearly every page had one or two or five somethings on it that I loved!  So…how to pick the most loved of the loved?

I finally decided to use the Painted Autumn Suite – it was the one that caught my eye first, after all.  So – I pulled out the Autumn Harvest stamp set, the new Leaf Punch and the Painted Autumn DSP.  And I also ended up using a nice little sentiment from the Lovely Words Thinlits and Dragonfly Dreams!  Take a look-see:

My layout for this one was inspired by the sketch challenge at CAS(E) This Sketch.

And I also took some hints from a new (to me!) challenge – the Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  I love Tic Tac Toe challenges!!

I went down the right column on that one.

I started with a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  Then I cut about a 3″ x 4″ piece of Window Sheet and punched it with the new (coming on 1 Sept!) Leaf Punch in the Painted Autumn Suite to make a stencil.  Across my Very Vanilla panel, using wedges of Stampin’ Sponges, I added leaf stencils in Lemon Lime Twist.  Then I went back over them with Garden Green.  And I cut a piece of Vellum card stock the same size as the Vanilla panel.

For my half circle at the bottom, I traced the shape of my Tear & Tape Adhesive roll on the backside of a piece of Painted Autumn DSP and fussy cut the shape.  Around the edges, I added faux stitches in Cajun Craze with my Stampin’ Write Marker.

Using my Fine-Tip Glue pen, I added glue on the back of the Vellum panel – only under the portion where I knew my half-circle was going to be placed – and adhered it over the leaf-strewn card front.  Then I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Cajun Craze mat.

My stamped sentiment is from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set.  I stamped the first three words in Cajun Craze just above my half circle. Then I finished the sentiment by cutting three Lovely Words thinlits in Cajun Craze and snipping just the words out.  I stacked them up with little dabs of Liquid Glue.
To be honest – I wasn’t sure what a “stacked sentiment” was – so…I stacked stamped words on top of the die cut word and I also stacked three die cuts.  I ought to be covered! 😉

I adhered the stacked sentiment to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Next up, I made some leaves.  Using Vellum card stock again, I stamped the veins image from Autumn Harvest (also available on 1 Sept – or now…ask me how!) in Garden Green and then I stamped the fill image over top in Lemon Lime Twist.  I also did one more on a piece of Very Vanilla.  I punched them all out with the new Leaf Punch and creased the leaves with my Bone Folder (now that I’ve found that trick – expect to see it a lot!).

The oh-so-pretty sunflowers are part of one of the beautiful papers in the Painted Autumn DSP – I fussy cut them right out of the paper!  And – just to make them pop – I edged each flower with my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker.

Using Fine-Tip Glue and some regular white Liquid Glue, I adhered the large sunflower and some Vellum leaves.  Then I popped the smaller sunflower on with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I used the Very Vanilla leaf and stuck it up under the small sunflower with a little Liquid Glue.  Then I tied a bow with the new linen-thread-on-steroids Jute Twine (love!) and adhered it with a dab of Liquid Glue.

I added more faux stitches around the edge of the Vellum in Cajun Craze then I added little dots of Fine-Tip Glue to the underside of the Vellum, under the leaves and flowers, to help adhere it to the card front.  I also added two eensy-weensy-tiny dabs under the stitches in the top corners.  And that finished off the card front!

On the inside, I added a sentiment from Autumn Harvest in Cajun Craze to a Very Vanilla panel (isn’t it wonderful?!?).  Then I stamped a Garden Green and Lemon-Lime Twist leaf next to the sentiment.

Do you think I should have added the faux stitches?  I couldn’t decide and so I left them off.  I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Cajun Craze mat and into my Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

I added more of the Autumn Harvest leaves in Garden Green and Lemon Lime Twist to the front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope…

…and then gave the envelope flap a covering of a little more of the Painted Autumn DSP.

Et Voila!  I kinda sorta love love LOVE this suite!!  It’s absolutely gorgeous – with its painterly images in the stamp set and the beautiful coordinating paper.  I think it’ll be a go-to all thru the dog-days of summer and into the Fall!  I can’t wait for you to get your hands on this Suite!!  Hope you like!

Speaking of getting your hands on it – you could!!  How?

Glad you asked!  Folks who join Stampin’ Up! now can select from the new Holiday Catalog to fill their Starter Kits!  So…you, too, could be making beautiful cards with this Suite right now!  Give me shout – or check out all the reasons joining with me is a good idea, right here on my Join My Team page!

Finn-Fan Fix

One of Finny’s most endearing traits is his ability to go from a hundred to zero in the blink of an eye.

And he’s almost always pretty close by when he hits zero.

Sometimes almost too close.

Not really – there’s not really any such thing.

What a love.

Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Layers and Burlap Thanks!

‘Sup, y’all?  Are you anxiously awaiting the arrival of the weekend?  I am.  Looking forward to leaving the work phone in the bedroom and having my headset tell me…”Phone 2 Disconnected”!! 🙂

As I type this on Thursday afternoon, I have – over on my craft table – a big box.

It says….”Stampin’ Up!” on the side.  Guess what’s in it??  Yep – my pre-order from the new 2017 Holiday Catalog!  I’m thinking I’ll do a quick pop-up FB Live video to show y’all what’s in it.  So – if I did that – AND you joined me – thanks!  And…was it awesome?

Of course it was awesome – what a silly question to ask my future self today.  In the past. Which is also the present!

My eyes just crossed…so, I think I’ll just get on with the card!

I made a clean and simple thank you card with the All Things Thanks lending the sentiments.  The front is decorated with the Burlap background stamp, a strip of embossed card stock and a fall-ish leaf from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits.  Take a look-see:

I made this one using the sketch challenge at CAS(E) This Sketch – but apparently completely mis-read the closing date for the challenge, so I missed it! 🙁 Continue reading

Stampin’ Up! Birthday Blossoms and Daisies for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a full roster for today’s sketch challenge, so be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

Here’s the sketch we worked with.

My friend asked me for a birthday card for her friend who’s had a few rough years.  She wanted something cheery.  And I thought – what’s more cheery than daisies?  Y’all told me that’s one of the reasons the Daisy Punch has been so popular, so…I went for it!  I added in a sentiment or two from the Birthday Blossoms stamp set – and a few other bits and pieces here and there.  Take a look-see:

Cheery, yes?? 🙂 Continue reading
