Stampin’ Up! Carols of Merry Little Christmas Labels

‘Sup, y’all?!?  Don’t want to scare you, but…there are only 23 days until Christmas.

Serious.

Twenty.  Three.  Days.

Yikes!

Last week, in the spirit of Christmas, I made a few gift tags for y’all to make for yourself.  This was one of them….

I may or may not have mentioned that I was thinking on a card to follow along in this same vein.

So…I used the Carols of Christmas bundle (with the Card Front Builder Thinlits) and the Merry Little Labels stamp set.  Not for nothing – these are retiring sets – so…if you love them, get them now.  They’ll only be around until they’re gone.  Anywho – take a look-see:

I started with more of the Old Olive and Basic Black plaid paper from the going-away-soon Merry Little Christmas DSP and matted it on Basic Black.

To make the large label – I used the largest die in the Lots of Labels Framelits.  I wanted the label to be longer than the die would allow on its own, so I ran the Crumb Cake card stock about halfway thru the Big Shot – so that I only cut one end of the label.  Then I turned it around and finished the label by running the other end thru.

I added some faux stitches with my Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker and punched a hole in the top with my 1/8″ Handheld Circle Punch.

I inked up the Merry Little Labels sentiment with Versamark and then covered all but the words and stamped it on the top of the label.  Then I sprinkled it with White Stampin Emboss Powder and heated it with my Heat Tool.

I also heat embossed the stars and deer image from the Carols of Christmas stamp set in White.  With the stars and moon die in the Card Front Builder Thinlits, I cut out some stars and sparkles and adhered them to the top with little dabs of Liquid Glue.

Thank I ran a length of Jute Twine thru the hole at the top of the label and secured it with a couple of Glue Dots.  Then I popped the label onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut several of the pretty trees with the dies in the Card Front Builder Thinlits (boy, I will miss these beautiful trees!!) in Whisper White and used Liquid Glue to adhere two of them directly to the label.  The two single trees are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals (the tree on the left) and Liquid Glue/Dimensionals.

I used my thankfully-not-retiring favorite Pretty Pines Thinlits to cut some pine boughs from the Merry Little Christmas DSP and adhered them at the top with Liquid Glue.

To finish off the card front, I tied a bow from Jute Twine and attached it at the top with another Glue Dot.

On the inside, I used a Crumb Cake panel for the inner liner and added faux stitches with my Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker.  Then I heat embossed – in White – more of the stars and the deer from the Carols of Christmas stamp set.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Crumb Cake card base.  Then I added another Whisper White Card Front Builder Thinlits tree with Liquid Glue, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a couple of the trees cut from the plaid Merry Little Christmas DSP on the front…

…and more of the plaid on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Merry Little Labels and the Carols of Christmas bundle are going away, y’all!  Like I said at the top – if you love them…get them soon, before they’re gone for good!  Hope you like!

CHANGE IN STAMPARATUS RESERVATION WINDOWS!!

YOU NEED TO READ THIS MESSAGE FROM STAMPIN’ UP!

The results are in! The first Stamparatus reservation window reached its maximum number of reservations in just 15 minutes, which provided us with some very important information: You LOVE this new stamping tool! We couldn’t be more thrilled; in fact, your response was so amazing that we’ve decided to make some important adjustments to the reservation process.
As was previously announced, the second reservation window will remain open from December 5–30; however, during this reservation period we will take as many orders as we receive (yay!) and not close the window until December 30. So whether the total number of reservations is 100 or 100,000, the window will stay open!
Please note the following changes:
  • Beginning March 19, we will ship Stamparatuses in the order the reservations were received (first in, first out) and continue through the next few months and beyond as product arrives in our warehouse. Because shipment dates are based on manufacturing lead times, not all of the reservations made during the December 5–30 window will ship on March 19 (as was previously announced).
  • In order to accommodate demand, limits have changed as follows:
    • One reservation per customer and one per demonstrator.
    • Because we are not limiting the maximum number of reservations for the second window, we will not offer a third window. This is the last chance for you and your customers to reserve a Stamparatus before it becomes available in the 2018-2019 annual catalog.

Please note what has not changed:

  • If you reserved more than one stamping tool during the first reservation period, that number will not change; you will still receive the same number you reserved. If you reserved one or more stamping tool(s) during the first reservation period, you may still order during the second window.
  • The reservation window will open at 2:00 PM (MT) on December 5.

We can’t wait for you to get your hands on your very own Stamparatus and look forward to seeing the projects you’ll make with this incredible stamping tool.

I’ve got all the information over on my Promotions page – including a super little video with lots of information on this wonderful new stamp placement tool.  Be sure to check it out – peruse the how-to-reserve-your-Stamparatus tutorial you’ll find there, and then mark your calendar for the next reservation window on 5 Dec!!

Finn Fan Fix

So – y’all remember that Sunday is “card making day” for Finn.

Or – card making watching!

Based on the clues wafting to my nostrils whenever I hug the little Man – which is a lot – I think we might need to make a trip to the Puppy Tubs today.

I asked him his thoughts on the matter.

He didn’t need any words.

Anyone doubt his opinion??

Stampin’ Up! Color Me Merry Thank You

Happy Saturday, y’all!  Hope your weekend is going well!

In my ongoing quest to show you guys how versatile the new Color Me Happy stamp set is – above and beyond even what you can do with it when you combine it with the Color Me Happy Project kit – I’ve made a quick and easy (and I ain’t just whistlin’ Dixie here, folks!!) thank you card with the stamp set and a little bit of the Merry Little Christmas DSP.  Take a look-see:

Since I’m betting your brain instantly told you how to make this card, you know how easy it is, right?

I did play along with the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week.  I went right down the middle!

Buckle up, buttercup – this is going to go fast!

I started with the cool black-and-white side of the Merry Little Christmas DSP and matted it on a panel of Pool Party card stock for the card front.  Then I wrapped a length of Peekaboo Peach 5/8″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon around the panel, securing it in the back with scotch tape.

I stamped the large and lovely sentiment from the Color Me Happy stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Whisper White card stock and cut it out with an oval die from the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  When the ink was good and dry, I used my Pumpkin Pie Light and Dark Stampin’ Blends to color the sentiment.  I used the Dark Pool Party Blend to color the little flourishes.

I cut a scalloped oval with the Ovals Layering Framelits die and matted the sentiment to it with Fast Fuse.  Then I popped it over the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used a short little length of Metallic Thread (you can use whatever kind – you’re not going to see it!), and tied a knot around the Crinkled Seam Binding to the left of the sentiment.  That helped to make my faux-bow look a lot less faux!

I tied a bow with more of the Peekaboo Peach 5/8″ Crinkled Seam Binding and adhered it with a Glue Dot – right over the spot where I tied the Metallic Thread knot.  Then I added some Black Rhinestone Jewels to the sentiment and the card was done!

For the inside, I used the Leaf Punch to cut out a leaf (to coordinate with the front DSP) in the corner of a Whisper White panel.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Pool Party mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done! 🙂

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a piece of Black and White Pick a Pattern Washi Tape across the front – I colored the little dots with my Dark Pool Party Stampin’ Blend (just hard to see in the picture!)…

..and I gave the envelope a little more of the leafy Merry Little Christmas DSP.

Et Voila!  So many ways to use the Color Me Happy stamp set – dress it up or dress it down!  And – even though “Christmas” is in the name of the Merry Little Christas DSP – its got so much versatility with the color scheme (it’s Old Olive-and-white on the other side!) and the patterns that are kind of season-neutral.  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Musical Merry Carols for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a full roster playing with today’s color challenge, so be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

I love this color combination!

I started with some fun paper from the Merry Little Christmas DSP, then pulled a sentiment from the Musical Season stamp set and some elements from the Carols of Christmas and Card Front Builder Thinits.  Take a look-see:

I also used the sketch-side of this week’s Fusion challenge to help me with the layout.

Finally, I played along with Jaydee’s Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge at The Paper Players.  Went down the left side.  Although…down the diagonal works, too! 😉

So – as you can see, I started with a tree-strewn piece of paper from the Merry Little Christmas DSP.  Using the fun border/frame die from the Card Front Builder Thinlits, I cut the frame and matted it on a piece of Old Olive card stock (using Fast Fuse and some Liquid Glue in the corners).

I cut a tag from a piece of Whisper White, using my Scallop Top Punch.  With the little stars image from the Carols of Christmas stamp set, I stamped stars all over the tag in Versamark Ink, sprinkled them with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated them up!  I edged the whole tag with my Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker.

I ran a length of Basic Black 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon thru the top of the tag and tied it together with a piece of silver Mini Tinsel Trim.  Than I popped the whole thing onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

My sentiment, from the Musical Season stamp set, is heat embossed in Silver on a strip of Whisper White.  Then I snipped banner ends and edged it with my Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker.  I added it with Liquid Glue and a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional under each end.

I cut two sets of trees with the die in the Card Front Builder Thinlits – one from a piece of Merry Little Christmas DSP and one from Silver Foil.  I adhered them together with Liquid Glue and then to the card front with Liquid Glue and Mini Dimensionals.

I added a silver star Metallic Enamel Shape to the top of each tree and the card front was done!

On the inside, I cut another Card Front Builder Thinlits frame from a piece of Whisper White card stock.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel (also using a little Liquid Glue in the corners) to an Old Olive mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with  Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Carols of Christmas Silver heat-embossed stars on the front…I might have gone a little crazy cuz I like them – feel free to stop WAAY earlier if you want…

…and I added some more of the Merry Little Christmas DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I hadn’t used the pretty Carols of Christmas stamp set and Card Front Builder Thinlits in a while – forgot how pretty and fun it is!  And, of course, the Musical Season sentiment is simple and simply perfect.  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Ready For Christmas for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a full roster playing with today’s sketch challenge, so be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

Here’s the sketch on the table today:

I decided to go with a Christmas theme – no, I’m not Ready for Christmas (yet!) – but this stamp set is!  You can tell cuz that’s it name!  So, I paired the Ready for Christmas and bundled Christmas Staircase Thinlits with some Merry Little Christmas DSP.  Take a look-see:

To begin, I Fast Fused a piece of Merry Little Christmas DSP onto a Basic Black mat – black side up – the Old Olive side just wouldn’t do for this one!

Next, I cut a strip of Gold Glimmer paper and bannerized the ends with my Banner Triple Punch.  It’s adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Over that, I added a Gold Foil Snowflake with some Liquid Glue.

To build my Christmas tree – it was so easy and fun! – I first stamped the image from the Ready for Christmas stamp set in Early Espresso on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I used the Early Espresso to give just a hit of brown with the white – which, when added to the Garden Green in the next step….said “Christmas Tree” to me!

In the Christmas Staircase Thinlits, there are two dies that are pine tree boughs.  I cut 9 of them from Garden Green and, using Liquid Glue, “built” my tree.  Start at the bottom and work your way up.  It’s sort of like assembling a fake Christmas Tree (one of the older ones where you had to stick each branch in one at a time).  Easy.  Quick  And fun to build!  I used the little ribbon die and the star – both from Christmas Staircase Thinlits – to cut bows and a star from Gold Glimmer Paper.  These are adhered with Liquid Glue.  Then I used more Liquid Glue to adhere the tree to the card front.

My sentiment, from Ready for Christmas, is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a strip of Basic Black (be sure to use the Embossing Buddy!!).  I’d made a gold-matted label sentiment – but…it just didn’t work for my card, so…hang on.  You’ll see that in a day or two! 😉

I cut banner ends with my Paper Snips and popped it over the tree with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  A small Black Rhinestone Jewel next to the sentiment finished off the card front.

On the inside, I heat embossed a second sentiment from Ready For Christmas in Gold on a Whisper White panel.  Then I stamped the garland in Garden Green and added Gold Embossed bows (again – don’t forget to use the Embossing Buddy. Oh – and be sure the green ink is dry!).

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Whisper White card base, Fast Fuse’d the card front on and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Garden Green Ready for Christmas garland and gold embossed bows on the front…

…and a little more of the Merry Little Christmas DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love this Christmas Tree-building set!  The boughs that the dies cut are very realistic – especially when layered up on the die cut tree!  And I think the black/white/gold – with just a pop of Christmas-y green is very striking, don’t you?  Hope you like!!
