Happy Sunday, y’all! Hope you’re having a good weekend! We’ve got a team meeting this afternoon and I’m still in retreat-prep mode so…I suspect we’ll be staying close to home!
I’ve got a Christmas card for you today – I’ve been trying to not “go Christmas” too early but…I just couldn’t resist today! I pulled out the Pretty Poinsettia bundle – an Online Exclusive – and paired it up with some new A Little Christmas DSP. Take a look-see:
The layout for this one – and what pulled me to the poinsettias – is from the Try Stamping on Tuesday sketch challenge.
I started by embossing a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock in the Textured Tree Ring 3D Embossing Folder. On the left side, I adhered a 1 1/2″ wide strip of plaid A Little Christmas DSP with Liquid Glue.
I made the strip longer than I needed and then trimmed the excess with Detail Scissors. Then I matted the panel on Pecan Pie cardstock for the card front.
On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped a Pretty Poinsettia sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink. I colored the open word with the Dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend.
I cut the sentiment out with the next-to-largest crimped-edge Tile Garden Die and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On another piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped the small Pretty Poinsettia flower twice in Cherry Cobbler and once in Petal Pink. I added the little flower center image in Golden Glow.
I also stamped some (five!) pine boughs in Mossy Meadow ink and a couple of leaves in Old Olive. I cut everything out with the coordinating dies in the Pretty Poinsettia set.
Using the large leaf die in the set, I cut out a Mossy Meadow leaf – and then snipped three of them off their stem.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the Petal Pink flower to the card front. I added one Cherry Cobbler flower with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Note: during this step, I set the card front on my Mossy Meadow card base so that I could be sure that nothing would extend past the edges of the card base! 🙂
I tied a figure eight bow with Linen Thread and adhered it with a Glue Dot.
I added the final flower with Dimensionals then tucked the stamped pine boughs and leaves, plus the 3 cardstock leaves, in and amongst the flowers, securing them with Liquid Glue.
I added NINE new Cherry Cobbler Adhesive-backed Sparkle Sequins and the card front was done.
On the inside, I stamped another Pretty Poinsettia sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink on a Very Vanilla panel. In the corner, I stamped the flower in Petal Pink, with a Golden Glow center. I made a sticky note mask, covered the flower with it, and stamped the Pretty Poinsettia pine bough a few times in Mossy Meadow ink. When I picked up the mask, those pine boughs were miraculously BEHIND the flower! 😉
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel on the inside of the Mossy Meadow card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Pretty Poinsettia flower and pine boughs on the front…
… and more of the A Little Christmas DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I’m not even going to talk about how much I love this plaid in the A Little Christmas DSP pack – I’d like about a zillion pieces of it!! Although I can’t have THAT – it’s handy that there’s plenty of other pretty and fun designs in the pack! The Pretty Poinsettia bundle is gorgeous and versatile – make stamped flowers like i did – OR….cut out all the petals using the bundled dies and build wunnermus 3D flowers! BOOM!
I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix
Yesterday morning – before I got on the treadmill, I wanted to find Addy.
I looked in her bed – it was still dark so I couldn’t really see very well. I peered close and realized…
…it was Big Furry.
I looked around for Addy – but she was nowhere in the living room or the kitchen or my office.
So. Went to the last spot.
And there she was – curled up in Finn’s bedroom.
So – we had the BIG dog in the LITTLE bed and the LITTLE dog in the BIG bed.
Sounds like a kids book!! 😂
