Stampin’ Up! Daisy Lane Ornate Garden Treat Basket – with Video Tutorial!

Good Friday morning, y’all!!  I feel obligated to say….stop touching your face and wash your hands.

There.  Public Service Announcement….DONE!

If you were able to join me for my YouTube Live Video yesterday –  I appreciate you spending some of your day with me!  If not, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

I got the idea for this sweet treat basket from my friend Sue Prather – who gave all of us one last weekend at our Spring STAMPede event!

This is so easy. 🙂

Where Sue used some Best Dressed DSP, I used some of the Ornate Garden Specialty DSP – from the Early Release Ornate Garden Suite (which y’all can get on 1 April – or NOW if you decide to join the team).  I decorated mine with sweet Daisy Lane flowers.  Take a look-see:

With my Simply Scored board, I scored at 2″ and 4″ on one side of the 6″ x 6″ piece of DSP – rotated the paper 90 degrees (doesn’t matter which way) – and scored again at 2″ and 4″.

Next, I used my Paper Snips to cut from the edge of the paper to the crossing score line.  I did that on two opposing sides.  As shown by the dotted lines below.

When I was done snip-snipping, my paper looked like this:

I placed Tear-and-Tape Adhesive on the inside of the DSP on opposite corners…

Then I removed the tape and brought the tips of the outside corners together – tucking the center square panel on the inside.

The end result…

I used some Liquid Glue to adhere the inside flap so that it would help to make everything more secure and tidier! 🙂

Ready to decorate!

I used a length (about 7 1/2″) of 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim (from the Tropical Oasis Suite) for the handle – using a craft stapler to adhere it on the inside of the basket at the points.

On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped two each of the large and small daisies from the Daisy Lane set in Daffodil Delight.  Then I punched them with the Daisy Punch and the Medium Daisy Punch.

With the Leaf Punch, I punched three Mint Macaron and three Old Olive leaves.  I creased each little leaf with my fingers and adhered three each on both sides of the basket with Liquid Glue.

I popped the small daisies atop the large daisies with a Stampin’ Dimensional.  Then I adhered them over the top of the leaves with Liquid Glue.

A Perennial Essence Flower Center in the middle of each daisy finished off my Spring Baskets!

Et Voila!  These little baskets are so cute and so easy and…how many ways can you think of to use them?  Mother’s Day?  Easter Brunch?  May Day?  Baby Shower?  Bridal Shower?  Think of all the gorgeous papers we have to choose from and the myriad of decorative options we’ve got with Stampin’ UP!  The Daisy Lane and two Daisy Punches are spot-on-perfect for any and everything Spring-y!!  And…the paper.  The Ornate Garden Specialty DSP is gorgeous!!  I hope you like – and will give these a try right now!!

Finn Fan Fix

Yesterday we started hardening the transplants.

Toted all the little trays and water-bottle “pots” to just outside the garage door for a little while in the afternoon.  Gotta toughen up the plants in preparation for going in the beds!!

And I cut some daffodils (and a couple of tulip tree flowers!!)

It’s just the best time of year, isn’t it?!?

Finn supervised from the golf-cart.

That’s kind of his jam.  Supervising.

If he had actual hands – not adorable paw-hands, he’d be holding a coffee cup in one hand and have the other in his pocket in the ways of site supervisors the world over.

No offense to site supervisors! 😉

Stampin’ Up! Daisy Lane Sneak Peek for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s Hop is a color challenge and I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with –  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop!

I decided that the color scheme was really asking for some flowers and leaves – so…I pulled out the new Daisy Lane stamp set!  Now, this set will be bundled (read: SAVE 10%!) with the new Medium Daisy Punch which will come out in the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog at the same time this set makes its debut!  AND – it also works with the Daisy Punch, which is already active and is carrying over.  So…take a look-see:

And here’s the color scheme in question!

Flowers, right??

I started with two panels of Sahara Sand and, with a little tiny dab of Liquid Glue, temporarily stuck them together.  That’s a pretty classic start to a Double-Time or Triple-Time card!

I inked up the large daisy in the new Daisy Lane (4 June!) stamp set with Highland Heather and stamped them a couple of times – without re-inking, here and there on the layered panels.

I inked the pretty leaf from Daisy Lane in Pear Pizzazz and repeated the process.  Folls – there’s a strong chance this is going to be my favorite leaf image EVER!!

With Highland Heather, I added the sentiment from Daisy Lane.

Then I ran the whole thing thru the Big Shot in the Subtle Dynamic TIEF.

I matted both panels on Pear Pizzazz and then adhered the smaller panel to the card front.  I used my Pear Pizzazz and Highland Heather Stampin’ Write Markers to add a little color in the margins – cleaning up the space left by the stamping.  Then I popped the smaller panel over the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a seperate piece of Sahara Sand, I stamped more daisies in Highland Heather.  I made several full-strength and several stamped-off-once – then layered them…I fussy cut them – but…YOU could (I’d even go so far as to say SHOULD!) use the Medium Daisy Punch (which will come out on 4 Jun) and the Daisy Punch (which is in the current catalog – but…I left it at home!).

I added a couple of short lengths of Whisper White 5/8″ Flax Ribbon with a couple of Glue Dots.  On the back of the flower, I used Liquid Glue to wind some Gold Metallic Thread in loops.  Finally, I adhered the flower to the card front.

I added a Gold Faceted Gem to the flower center and a couple up in the corner – and the card front was done!

On the inside I added a second sentiment from Daisy Lane in Highland Heather on a Sahara Sand panel, then added some full-strength and stamped-off-once flowers in the corner.  A couple of Pear Pizzazz leaves finished it off.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the Sahara Sand panel to a Pear Pizzazz mat and then into my Highland Heather card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a couple more Highland Heather flowers and Pear Pizzazz leaves on the front…

…and another leaf on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How.  Cool.  Is.  This.  Daisy Lane stamp set?!?  And it’s a PUNCH set!  Whoo-hooo!  I hope you like and have moved this one up to the top of your list for the release of the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog on 4 June!

Stampin’ Up! Wood Textures Easter Basket (weave!)

Happy happy Hawwwwmp day!  Hope your week is going well!

Before I get to the project for today – I need to clarify something on the twist-and-pop-up card measurements.  I’d inadvertently put a bad measurement for the “mechanism” on the blog posts for the two cards I made.  Here’s the real numbers:  2 1/2″ x 8 1/2″.  I’ve fixed the posts already to reflect the correct numbers – but…if you’ve been trying to make one of your own – this measurement will work much more better! 🙂

Okay – now that that’s out of the way, let’s get started! The other day at our team meeting, we made a fun little 3-D project that Amy designed for us.  I decided to do a little bit of modification and add a few little fun goodies.  It uses the Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF….the Daisy Punch and…the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.  Take a look-see:

The little basket is fun and easy! Continue reading

Stampin’ Up! Delightful Daisy and a Charming Cafe

Good morning!  How’s it going today?  Do you have a good weekend planned? Hope so!

I did a quick and easy card today – very simple design, using an old favorite (well, not so very old, maybe!) – the Daisy Delight stamp set, bundled Daisy Punch and Delightful Daisy DSP – combined with a pretty sentiment from the Occasions stamp set called Charming Cafe.  Take a look-see:

I used the color scheme from this week’s Color Throwdown.  I love the Black/White/Any Color combination, don’t you? Continue reading

Stampin’ Up! Large Letters and Springtime Daisies Hello!

Happy weekend, my peeps!  Hope you’ve got something fun planned??

My card today is one that uses a few different tools from my arsenal!  I’d been playing with a design in my head for a minute and decided it was time to try to implement it.  I used the Large Letters Framelits and some Daisy Punch flowers.  Along with a little Springtime Foils and Sweet Soiree Specialty DSPs.  Take a look-see:

The inspiration for the card came from the Floral Statements stamp set in the Annual Catalog!   Continue reading

Stampin’ Up! Delightfully Musical Daisies for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a full roster for today’s color challenge, so be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

This one was kind of tough.

I decided to also play along with the clean-and-simple sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch.

To make my clean-and-simple card, using a tough color scheme, I used some Merry Music Specialty DSP from the new 2017 Holiday Catalog along with the Daisy Delight stamp set and matching Daisy Punch.  Take a look-see:

I started with a simple Whisper White panel and used my Simply Scored Board to make horizontal and vertical score lines.  I flipped the panel over a couple of times while making my score lines – so some are raised and some are indented.  Then I matted it on a piece of Basic Black card stock.

I made the flower by punching three daisies with the Daisy Punch from the Merry Music Specialty DSP.  Each petal was sponged lightly with Flirty Flamingo ink.  Then I used the new Leaf Punch – in the 2017 Holiday Catalog – to punch three sets of leaves, also from Merry Music paper.  Those I sponged with Emerald Envy.

I lightly curled the petals of the flowers and then stacked and adhered them with Liquid Glue.  I laid everything in place on the card front and stamped my sentiment from the Daisy Delight stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  You might recall – long ago, I cut the Thank You sentiment stamp in my Daisy Delight stamp set in half – that let me easily stamp it as a stacked sentiment instead on a single line.  I brushed the words with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush!

I adhered the leaves to the card front with Liquid Glue, then used a few Glue Dots to adhere a length of Black Mini Sequin Trim.  Over the top of all that, I used another Glue Dot to adhere the Daisy to the card front.

I added a Clear Faceted Gem to the center of the flower, and a few Black Rhinestone Jewels (Holiday Catalog) to the card front and that was it.

For the inside of my card, I took a Whisper White panel and cut a flower in the bottom corner with the Daisy Punch.  Using my Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Write Marker, I edged the petals.  Behind the opening, I used some Liquid Glue to adhere a square of Merry Music Specialty DSP.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Thick Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a Daisy Delight flower on the front.  I stamped the image three times – in stamped-off-once Flirty Flamingo – rotating the stamp slightly for each stamp.  Then I made a little mask with more punched daisies…

…and laid that over the flower.  Then I used a piece of card stock – with the Leaf Punch punched out as a stencil – and sponged some leaves in Emerald Envy…

…then I added some more Merry Music Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I think this card shows that even things that are “Christmas” (Merry Music DSP) or “Halloween/Fall” (Black Rhinestones) can be combined in so many ways to create whatever you can imagine!  Of course, the Daisy Delight stamp set and Daisy Punch are favorites of most of us and I love how the elements all came together!  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Birthday Blossoms and Daisies for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a full roster for today’s sketch challenge, so be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

Here’s the sketch we worked with.

My friend asked me for a birthday card for her friend who’s had a few rough years.  She wanted something cheery.  And I thought – what’s more cheery than daisies?  Y’all told me that’s one of the reasons the Daisy Punch has been so popular, so…I went for it!  I added in a sentiment or two from the Birthday Blossoms stamp set – and a few other bits and pieces here and there.  Take a look-see:

Cheery, yes?? 🙂 Continue reading

Stampin’ Up! Daisy Delight Corner Pop-Up Card – and Blog Candy!

Hey, y’all – it’s Monday!  Bleh.  No.  Really.

Bleh bleh bleh!!  Yes, I’m happy to be home, but…I’d like a month of weekends, please!  And no work.  And no specter of future travel to places in Utah….I say again. BLEH BLEH BLEEEEEHHHHH!!

Okay – my self-blehing pity party is over.

Thank you for listening!

If you were able to join me last night on Facebook (thank you!) you saw me make today’s fun-fold card.  If you weren’t able to join – here’s a link to the video on You Tube!  Enjoy…

This card technique has been seen a lot on Pinterest these days, but the card I saw that really struck me and inspired this one is from Flutterbyheidi!  Check out her card right here!

I used the Daisy Delight stamp set and matching Daisy Punch to make this one.  And a little bit of Wood Textures DSP.  Take a look-see:

Oh wait – yes, that’s quite pretty, no doubt.  But here’s the fun part! Continue reading

Stampin’ Up! Pop-Up Daisy Video Sneak Peek!

Happy Sunday, y’all!  Hope your weekend is going well!

We spent Saturday….gardening.  I unpacked a little.  Gave Wayne a haircut.  Did some more brushing on the fur-bucket.  Took a little nap or two.     It was a nice day – punctuated with a solid rain/thunderstorm mid-afternoon, so it was even a little cooler when it was time to feed in the evening!

So – I figure you’ve come to expect that my Sunday post will contain a little sneak peek of what I’m going to be working on in my Sunday evening Facebook Live video.  And – today is no exception!

I know you can see a daisy there…so you know we’ll be playing with that cool Daisy Punch!  It’ll be back on the 31st – and this will be a fun card to be all ready to make when you get it in your hot little hands!  It’s a fun-fold card – and…we’re going to hope I can make it again while on camera!  Fingers crossed!   Continue reading

Stampin’ Up! Daisies are Delightful for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  We’ve got a full complement of bloggers for you today, so be sure to check them all out and see how everyone handled our color challenge this week!

Take a gander at the colors we were given:

I decided to use some of the Petal Garden DSP Stack along with the Daisy Delight stamp set and matching Daisy Punch (it WILL be back, folks!) to make a pretty thank you card.  Take a look-see:

My layout was inspired by this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.

I started with a simple Whisper White panel that I matted on Old Olive.  Near the bottom corner, I stamped the sentiment from Daisy Delight in Calypso Coral ink.

For my middle panel, I used six equal-sized strips of Pool Party paper from the Petal Garden DSP Stack, and adhered them to an Old Olive mat with Liquid Glue.  Then I popped the panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

My daisy (I think it’s a Gerbera – and I learned the technique from my friend Jaimie – who’s one of our hoppers today!) is three Daisy Delight flowers inked in Calypso Coral and stamped on some Calypso Coral paper in the Petal Gardens DSP Stack.  I punched them out with the Daisy Punch and brushed all the petals with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.  To assemble them, I first curled the petals with a Bone Folder – some down and some up – then I used a Stampin’ Dimensional between each flower to create a stack.  Don’t forget to rotate each flower so that all the gaps are filled in with petals!

I used Glue Dots around the back of my flower to wind some Old Olive Baker’s Twine and Gold Metallic Thread around in several loops, then used another Stampin’ Dimensional to pop the flower onto the card front.

I decided it needed a little more oomph, so I stamped a couple of leaves from Daisy Delight in Old Olive on some Whisper White card stock.  Then I used the fill-in image in stamped-off-once Old Olive and fussy cut the leaves.  I used a little Liquid Glue to stick them into the flower.  Finally, I added a Gold Faceted Gem to the middle of the flower and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped the Daisy Delight flower image three times in Calypso Coral ink in the corner of a Whisper White panel – rotating the image each time.  Then I used my Clear Wink to paint the petals in Calypso Coral.  I added a couple of Old Olive leaves – and another Gold Faceted Gem to the middle of the flower.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to an Old Olive mat and into my Thick Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

On the front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I added another Calypso Coral Daisy Delight flower and brushed the petals with my Clear Wink of Stella…

…and added some more Petal Garden DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  I couldn’t help it, y’all!  Had to use the Daisy Delight stamp set and matching Daisy Punch.  And it just goes so perfectly with the Petal Garden DSP.  Hope you like!

You’ll get more free goodies than Santa’s got in his bottomless bag – all for joining Stampin’ Up! during the Christmas in July promotion!

So – we already know that spending $99 and getting $125 worth of Stampin’ Up! is a heckuva good deal – especially since it also includes Free Shipping (that saves you 10% right there!).

But – add in the Stampin’ Up! Christmas in July Essentials Pack – which you’ll ALSO get for FREE this month and…WOWWWWWW!!  THAT’S what I call a Christmas present!

Take a look-see at what you get in the Essentials Pack:

  • SNAIL Adhesive ($7 value).  Easy to use adhesive for almost every task.
  • Grid Paper ($11 value).  Such a simple thing – and yet….so useful.  And you get so many sheets – this one package will last you a LOOOOOONG time!
  • Two Clear “D” Blocks ($17 value).  Keep one.  Give one away to a friend!  Or…you know.  Keep them both for yourself! 😉
  • Bone Folder ($7 value).  An oft-overlooked but essential tool for scoring, folding or curling!
  • BONUS (and this is HUGE!):  Carols of Christmas Stamp Set from the upcoming holiday catalog ($20 value).  I suspect this one could be your go-to for the Holidays.  And you’ll get it early so you can get a head start on your Christmas Cards.  Take a look-see:

So….you get $72 worth of tools for free – meaning your $125 Starter Kit can include all the FUN stamp sets and bundles and paper and and and…that you WANT!  SU!’s covering what you NEED!  Cool, huh?

And – of course, when you join with me, you become part of a wonderful group of ladies  – in my direct team and as part of Amy’s team!

What else will you get??  Well …

  • You’ll get a minimum 20% discount on all of your orders – and it can go even higher!  And with all your orders, you can save even more – earning Stampin’ Rewards dollars to spend on more free goodies!
  • Your Starter Kit can be any products you want – from any active catalog – including bundles (yep – save another 10%!)!  And we’ve got some great ones.  Check ’em out right here.
  • You get about 30 minutes to test drive a car.  With Stampin’ Up! – you get about SIX MONTHS to enjoy the bennies of being a demonstrator!  Whaaaaa? Yep – you have from the time you join until the end of your first full Stampin’ Up! quarter to take advantage of the demonstrator discounts and benefits.  July is the start of a quarter – the end of the first full quarter is 31 Dec.   So you’ll have until 31 Dec to reach your first $300 in sales to renew for Jan – March.
  • No commitment – and no penalty if you decide to drop!  If you reach $300 in sales by the end of the first full Stampin’ Up! quarter (31 Dec), you renew your demonstrator discounts and benefits for another quarter.  If you don’t – you can “drop” with no penalty. Cool beans!
  • You get to order early from the new catalogs.  All demonstrators have the chance to pre-order select goodies from each new catalog!
  • You’ll be invited to join our private Facebook community – where we chat, ask questions, share projects and win fun prizes!
  • Our group meets each month via Google Hangout – join or not – up to you!!  But – you’ll want to take part – we have a great time together!
  • Oh – and if you stick around….you might earn a cruise…or a trip to Italy…or…who knows what will come for 2019 and beyond!?!

  • And – you get me!  I’m always available to answer questions – help you out – or just talk!
