Stampin’ Up! Have A Hoot Christmas with Video Tutorial

Happy Friday, y’all!  Hope you’ve got some fun plans for the weekend – mine will be quiet – except for the sound of chopping paper!!  Yep – I’ll be getting y’all’s shares cut up and hopefully out the door on Monday!  Whoo-hoo!

So, if you were able to join me yesterday for my YouTube live, I appreciate you spending some time with me – if not, but you’d like to see the replay, here ’tis! 🙂

I built my card using the the adorable Have a Hoot stamp set as the focal point – with a couple of paper-pieced owls taking front and center atop some ‘Tis The Season DSP.  Take a look-see:

I was inspired by the TGIF inspiration challenge this week.

I started by embossing a piece of Basic Black cardstock in the Woodland Embossing Folder and then adhering the panel to the front of my Basic Black card base with Liquid Glue.

I matted two pieces of ‘Tis the Season DSP on Daffodil Delight cardstock and adhered them at an angle with Liquid Glue.

Next, I stamped the cute Have A Hoot image in Tuxedo Black. I inked and stamped three times – once on a piece of Whisper White, once on a piece of Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP and the third time on a piece of Daffodil Delight!

I cut the Whisper White image with the next-to-largest circle Stitched Shapes die.  Then I fussy cut the whole owls image from the Gilded Autumn piece.  Finally, I snipped the eyeballs/beak from the Daffodil Delight image.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the owls to the Whisper White image – and used my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to make sure the outline was solid.  Then I added the eyes and beak.  I colored the mistletoe and pine boughs with my Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Write Marker – and the berries with my Real Red marker.

Using Stampin’ Seal – I adhered a length of Real Red 3/8″ Sheer Ribbon to the card front. Then I popped the Stitched Shapes Circle over top with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the Have a Hoot sentiment in Tuxedo Black on a piece of Daffodil Delight and fussy cut it in three “bites”.

I adhered the sentiment pieces onto the card front with Liquid Glue, added some Red Rhinestone Jewels and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Have A Hoot sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a Whisper White panel.  Then I inked just the mistletoe with my Black Stampin’ Write Marker and added it above the sentiment.  I colored it with my Shaded Spruce and Real Red Stampin’ Write Markers and added a few Red Rhinestone Jewels.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Daffodil Delight mat and into the Basic Black card base and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got the Tuxedo Black mistletoe image on the front…

…and more of the ‘Tis The Season DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I’ll tell you what – this Have A Hoot stamp set is SO stinkin’ cute!  The images and sentiments – for Christmas AND Halloween – are just as fun as they can be!  And…it’s bundled with the Peek-a-Hoot Dies which cut out all the images in the set – plus it’ll cut out three gift tag shapes – and a spider web!

I hope you LOVE it!

  1. Such a cute card! Love the off-set layering and those awesome owls!! Glad that Finn didn’t catch a glimpse of his potential new “friend”…puppies and turtles probably wouldn’t get along so well. 😉

Nope – one is fast and one is…not so much! Tough pairing! Thanks, Amy – hope THIS is the day you get power back! 🙂

I do love the Have a Hoot bundle! I will have to add that to my wish list. I like that Halloween is included in some of the stamp sets this catalogue.
