Stampin’ Up! Bloomin’ Heart Wedding Congratulations

Mornin’, y’all!  As we hit the half-way point, I hope the week is treating you well and that you’re busily stamping away with your fave SU! products and waiting for your new Occasions goodies and FREE Sale-a-Bration toys to arrive in the mail!

My share today is a wedding card – I don’t have anyone on my list right now who needs a wedding card (at least not one that’s as Princess wedding/formal as this card turned out!), but the sketch challenge that I played with for this card just seemed to cry out for a wedding card!  I ended up using the completely perfect-for-a-wedding-card Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits, some florals from Timeless Love and both Sassy Salutations and For The New Two stamp sets for my sentiments.  Take a look-see:

The sketch challenge I used was actually a color challenge over at Sunday Stamps.  Be sure to go over and check out all the pretty cards that folks all come up with – or play along!  Challenge #117 sent us off with these colors!

SSC117 Sketch

Perhaps you can see why I thought “wedding” when I saw the picture?

Surely it’s not just me. 🙂

Anyway.  I started by embossing a panel of Blushing Bride card stock in the Lovely Lace Textured Impression Embossing Folder.  That became my card front.

I cut two hearts with the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits – one from Whisper White card stock (the “groom”) and one from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper (the “bride”).  I adhered them to my embossed card front using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen, laying the glimmer paper heart over the Whisper White heart.

I built a bridal bouquet by first stamping the flower arch from the Timeless Love stamp set in Crumb Cake on a piece of Whisper White.  I colored it with my Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzaz and Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Write Markers and fussy cut it.  Then I used a small length of Sahara Sand 7/8″ Lace Trim and one of Whisper White 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon and I doubled them over and stapled them together with my Handheld Stapler.  To the top of that, I used some Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere my flower arch.  Under that, I glued multiple flowers cut with the two smallest dies in the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits die set – several cut from Dazzling Diamonds and several from Blushing Bride Glimmer Papers.  It takes a minute for the Liquid Glue to set and hold the Glimmer Paper – so give it a minute!  I used Stampin’ Dimenensionals on a few of the flowers to give some depth to the bouquet and make it appear a little more realistic.

Finally, I used Glue Dots on the back of my bouquet and looped Gold Metallic Thread around and around a few times.

I built the “groom” a Black bow tie with the Bow Builder Punch and some Basic Black card stock and adhered it with a couple of Glue Dots to the bottom of the Whisper White heart.  Then I used more Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere the bouquet to the “bride” heart – letting it overlap the bow tie ends a little.  Kind of like they’re holding hands.

Yea.

Sappy.

Sorry!

For the sentiment, I heat embossed the Sassy Salutations sentiment on a piece of Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum.  Since we don’t have Melon Mambo embossing powder, I first inked the stamp with Versamark and then went right into my Melon Mambo ink pad.  Then I stamped the sentiment onto the vellum, sprinkled it with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.Bloomin' Heart Wedding Congrats 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I cut both ends with my Banner Triple Punch and then used a couple of tiny pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals under the banner to adhere it to the card.  There’s one little piece under the Pearl Basic Jewel and one even tinier sliver under the tail of the second “n”!

Bloomin' Heart Wedding Congrats 1 - Stamps-N-LingersFor the inside, I stamped the sentiment from For The New Two in Sahara Sand ink on a panel of Whisper White.  Then, using my Stamp-a-ma-Jig to get it right where I wanted it, I added another floral spray from the Timeless Love set in Sahara Sand.  I colored it in with my Blender Pen – Pink Pirouette for the flowers and some Pear Pizzazz in the leaves.  To finish it off, I SNAILd it onto a Blushing Bride mat and then into my Sahara Sand card base.

I SNAILd the card front onto the card – plenty of dimension already with all the embellishments.  Then I added a plethora of tiny Pearl Basic Jewels to the bride’s bouquet and the card was done!

To accommodate the thickness of the card, and avoid too much squishing, I made a custom, slightly-larger-than-needed envelope from a piece of Whisper White Envelope Paper and my Envelope Punch Board.  Then I decorated the front with more Timeless Love florals and my blender pens….

…and added a custom liner (also made with my Envelope Punch Board – see how here!) cut from a piece of Sahara Sand Backgrounds DSP (in the Neutrals Background DSP Stack).

Et Volia!  I love how the Bow Builder punch helped me create a Bloomin’ Heart wedding couple, decked out with bouquet and black tie formal-wear!  I hope that you like it, too!  Now – if anyone needs a ready-made wedding card, give me a holler.  I have one! 😉
