Good morning and happy Fri-YAY! Hope you’ve had a great first real week of 2026 – I mean – new catalog, new Online Exclsuvies, new Kits, new Product of the Month AND Double Peppermints?! Sweet dreams are made of these, who am I to disagree…..
Admit it – you sang that last line!
Anywho – the fun continues! Today’s birthday card USES some of the new Online Exclusives – the Lovely Arrangements stamp set and the beautiful Lovely Blossoms DSP. All on a cool hidden gate fun fold card! Take a look-see:
Now – I took inspiration for this card from two talented folks! Su Mohr for the cool fun fold and Brian King for the layered card front! 🙂
I started by using Liquid Glue to adhere two 7/8″ x 4 1/8″ pieces of Lovely Blossoms DSP on the ends of a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Secret Sea cardstock – this is the card base.
Next, using my Paper Trimmer, I scored a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Secret Sea cardstock at 2″, 3 3/4″, 7 1/4″ and 9″. Then I folded the two innermost folds “in” and the two outside folds “out” – aka…it’s a gate fold!
For the inside of the gate card, I stamped a Lovely Arrangements sentiment in Crumb Cake ink on a 3 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock. In the corner, I stamped one of the flowers from the set in Secret Sea ink.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the inside of the gate fold and then adhered a 1 7/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of the Lovely Blossoms DSP to the front of the right -hand gate panel.
I put Liquid Glue on the back of the center of the gate card and adhered it to the 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card base – centering it left-to-right and aligning the top and bottom edges.
To make the card front – I used Liquid Glue to adhere a 3 7/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Lovely Blossoms DSP to a 4″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Secret Sea cardstock.
For the pretty layered art piece – I cut one of the small panels in the Lovely Blossoms DSP down to a total size of 2 1/8″ x 3 1/4″. I used the Paper Trimmer to cut the sides and bottom. And then I used it to cut partway across the top – stopping short of the little leaf that pokes up above the Crumb Cake portion.
I finished cutting the top using scissors – cutting around the little leaf.
I popped the panel onto the 2 3/8″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Then I matted it on a 2 1/2″ x 3 5/8″ piece of Secret Sea and again on a 2 3/4″ x 3 7/8″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. I love the multiple frames – in varying widths- don’t you?!
I adhered the layered panel to the DSP-covered card front with Liquid Glue.
Then I tied a simple bow from Linen Thread and adhered it with a little Liquid Glue.
I stamped a Lovely Arrangements sentiment in Crumb Cake ink on a strip of Basic White and popped it onto the card front, over the bow, with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I put Liquid Glue on the left front gate panel and then adhered the card front to it – aligning the left side of the card front and gate panel, as well as the top and bottom. When the card is closed – you can’t tell that there’s a “gate” there! Hence…”Hidden”! 🙂
I added some Cloud Cover Moody Palette Glossy Dots.
Finally, I opened the card all the way up and used Liquid Glue to adhere another 1 7/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of the Lovely Blossoms DSP to the BACK of the square card front.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Lovely Arrangements flower in Secret Sea on the front…
…and more of the Lovely Blossoms DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! The Lovely Blossoms DSP is absolutely one of my faves – the colors are just wonderful!! And this cool Hidden Gate Card is a perfect canvas for showing it off! With the help of the sentiment and floral from Lovely Arrangements (on backorder right now but expected back around the 26th!) – it’s a wonderful way to wish someone a very Happy Birthday! 🙂
I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Last night, I made chicken stroganoff.
I’m not sure that it was a big hit with Wayne.
The pan, however, WAS a big hit with the kids.
So proud of Finn for sharing!
