Stampin’ Up! Delightful Doilies and Inked & Tiled Botanicals Just a Note

Good morning!  Hope this finds you well and that your week is progressing smoothly towards the weekend! 🙂

I decided that another quick and easy card was called for and had been wanting to play with the pretty Inked Botanicals 6″ x 6″ DSP (it’s on sale right now so I can even re-stock and save some money, honey!).  I combined it with a couple of die cut doilies from the stand-alone Delightful Doily Hybrid Embossing Folder and some prettiness from the Inked & Tiled stamp set.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ UP! Butterfly Gala Happiness Blooms

Good morning, you guys. There’s no easy way to say this so…I’ll just come right out with it.  I’m sorry to tell you that I’ve decided to resign from Stampin’ Up! I realized this weekend that I am having trouble juggling work and SU! and something has to give.  Much as I love Stampin’ Up! – and YOU guys!! – I have to make the decision that makes the most sense for me and my family.

So – we’ll do this one last card and…this will be my last blog post. 🙁

The card I have to share with you uses the Happiness Blooms DSP and a few sentiments from the Butterfly Gala stamp set.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Eastern Palace for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  Do you like our new header??  I think it’s gorgeous!  If you’ve been following along, you’ll know this is sketch week!  I’m excited to see the projects from our talented ladies-who-hop, and I know you are, too!

Here’s our sketch…

I wanted to showcase the Eastern Palace Suite for y’all today, since you’re all going to be able to start getting it for yourself on 1 May (that’s Monday!).  So that’s what I did.  Take a look-see:

I started with a mostly Very Vanilla pattern in the Eastern Palace Specialty DSP and SNAILd it to a Tranquil Tide mat.  Then I chose a Dapper Denim piece and adhered a smaller strip to the bottom of the panel.

I took a strip of Gold Foil and adhered it with Liquid Glue across the seam between the two DSP patterns.  And I made a narrower strip from one of the Gold Foil patterns in the set, snipped a banner in one end and adhered it over the Gold Foil strip.

For the sentiment and art focal point, I took a square of Gold Foil and used the dies from the Eastern Medallions Thinlits to cut the design.  These are three dies that nest inside each other and produce that beautiful cut-out!

I inked up one of the curved sentiments in the Eastern Beauty stamp set with Basic Black Archival Ink and stamped it under the die cut.  Once the ink had dried, I popped the panel over the top of a square of Tranquil Tide with small pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The whole thing’s popped onto the card front with some more Dimensional and that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I stamped a second Eastern Beauty sentiment in Basic Black on a Very Vanilla panel.  I added an Eastern Gold Vinyl sticker around the sentiment and a second one across the bottom of the panel.

I SNAILd the panel to a Tranquil Tide mat and into my Very Vanilla Thick card stock card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Medium Very Vanilla Envelope got another of the pretty Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers across the front…

…and I added a little more the Eastern Palace Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is such a pretty suite of products – and you’re going to be able to grab up a bunch of the pieces and parts in some awesome bundles starting on Monday – and I’ll bring you more details about that in the next day or so.  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Wood Words Note for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

15822762_10211923272945503_223384966683691578_n
Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  If you’ve been following along, you’ll know this is color week!  I think you’ll see some pretty projects today from the ladies-who-hop, so be sure to spend a little time checking them out!

Here’s our color palette…

I decided to use the pretty floral image in the new Wood Words stamp set (available 1 June) and some more of the Wood Textures DSP Stack (also 1 June) paper to make a quick and easy note card for you – take a look-see:

My layout was loosely inspired by the sketch over at Stamp, Ink Paper:

This one took me less than hour to put together and that included 15 minutes sitting at my crafting desk, staring blankly into space wondering what in the world to make!  It’s been a bit of a week here at my house, folks – and my creatin’ neurons weren’t firing too well!  Speaking of which – Wayne did great in his surgery yesterday and got home speedy quick!  Thank you all so very much for the many well wishes and prayers we received!!  I’m grateful to each and every one of you!

So, I started with a dark wood paper design from the wondrous Wood Textures DSP Stack, and matted it on Peekaboo Peach card stock.

For the second layer, I chose a white-washed wood design and heat embossed the floral image from the Wood Words stamp set in Copper.  Using my Peekaboo Peach and Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Markers, I colored the flowers and leaves.

The sentiment, from Wood Words, I stamped in Chocolate Chip ink, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to position it where I wanted it.  Then I matted the panel on Peekaboo Peach and SNAILd it to the card front.

I wrapped a piece of the new 1/4″ Copper Trim around the whole panel, securing it in the back with scotch tape.  Then I tied a bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot – and that was it for the card front!

On the inside of the card, I again heat embossed the Wood Words floral image – this time in White – on a Whisper White panel (it’s hard to see in the picture – sorry! 😔).  Then I colored the flowers and leaves with my markers.

I SNAILd the panel to a Peekaboo Peach mat and into my Pear Pizzazz card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a repeat of the White Embossed florals from Wood Words…

…and some more of the white-washed Wood Textures DSP paper on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Easy and beautiful – I love how the rustic wood paper works so beautifully with the copper in the embossing and the new 1/4″ Copper Trim.  Hope you like – and are adding this to your wish list if it wasn’t there already! 😉

Stampin’ Up! Joseph’s Coat Flourishing Phrases Note

Happy Hawwmp Day, y’all!  I hope your week is going well, the weather is fine and your families are safe and sound!

Yesterday was a landmark day here at Raining Leaf Farm.  I formally told the girls that they were done with their grazing muzzles for 2016! 🙂

There was much chuckling and lip-flopping and licking.  And a decided bounce to their step as they headed to the pasture to begin gorging on (hopefully!) dying-off grass.  They hurried a bit – I’m sure in an effort to put as much distance between me and them – in case I realized I’d made an error and tried to get them back.  There were several furtive glances back over their fuzzy shoulders to be sure I wasn’t hustling after them! 🙂

I feel a little bad for them – they’ve worn the muzzles for quite a while this year, and I know they were completely over them….  But…they’re a lot better than the alternatives, I promise.  Unfortunately, they don’t care about my explanations and professions of love!  They just hate the muzzles! 🙂

So, with happy and very full ponies taken care of, let’s get to the card for today.  Last week, our friend and former upline (before she moved back to the frozen tundra of Canada!), Sandi MacIver, did a card using the Joseph’s Coat technique.  You can check it out right here.  I thought it was really cool, so I wanted to give it a shot.  I did mine with the Flourishing Phrases stamp set, and the bundled Flourish Thinlits.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Watercolored Flourishing Phrases Notecard

Mornin’ y’all – it’s Monday again!  I hope you had a super weekend and are refreshed and ready for the workweek!

I have no funny stories today – Duck Duck hasn’t been caught doing anything cute that I know about!  My trip to the grocery store was not even sort of funny.  Pretty boring weekend, really.

Which is exactly what I was looking for! 🙂  Hope you got what you were looking for this weekend, too!

I have a fun card for you today – I used a technique I saw on a blog somewhere.  I can’t for the life of me remember where – but….I thank that SU! demonstrator for the idea!

To make this card, I used the pretty new stamp set called Flourishing Phrases and the matching Flourish Thinlits.  Take a look-see:
