Stampin’ Up! Chic Charming Sentiments Mini Pocket Envelope Gift Card Holder with Video Tutorial

Good morning and happy middle-of- May!  Can you even believe it!? I can – because I have flowers coming on my tomatoes – and I put fly masks on the ponies for the first time yesterday.  It’s summer, baby!! 🙂

My fun-fold card today features some seashells – so…a beachy theme.  Sort of.  Well – maybe not completely.  I used the pretty Texture Chic Specialty DSP as the basis but…then I pulled in the a la carte Mini Pocket Envelope Dies and…the amazing Charming Sentiments bundle.  Take a look-see:

The layout/gift card theme was inspired by the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches….

I also did a video for this on YouTube and if you were able to join me for it last night, I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me!  If not – but you’d like to see how to make it – here ’tis on YouTube!

I started with some pretty green paper from the Texture Chic Specialty DSP that I matted on Soft Succulent for the card front.  I matted a narrow piece of the same DSP on Soft Succulent, as well.

The gift card holder is from the Mini Pocket Envelope die set – a sweet A La Carte set in the new catalog!  I cut the envelope from a piece of Distressed Gold Specialty Paper and used Liquid Glue to assemble it!

I used my Dark Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blend to color the inside of the flap.

I used Liquid Glue just on the back (the gold side) of the flap to adhere the gift envelope to the front of the card – then I adhered the matted DSP strip over the top with more Liquid Glue.  Note:  the body of the envelope is not adhered – just the flap!

I adhered a small piece of the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper to a small Soft Succulent mat and then to the front of the envelope with Liquid Glue.

Using the “glow” die in the Sentiment Silhouette dies – bundled with the Charming Sentiments stamp set – I cut the rays out of a small piece of Texture Chic Specialty DSP.  Then I adhered that to the envelope front with Liquid Glue.

Using the dies in the Sentiment Silhouettes set, I cut the “striped” candle from Basic White and the solid candle from Distressed Gold Specialty Paper.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere them together and then popped the completed candle on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped “whoo-hoo” from the Charming Sentiments set in Soft Succulent ink on a piece of Basic White and cut it with its matching die in the bundled Sentiment Silhouettes.  Note:  this bundle is Lisa Curcio’s Million Dollar Sales set – and she’s done up a little “cheat sheet” for us so that we can easily find which die goes with which sentiment.  I downloaded and printed it – and am keeping it in my Storage Pocket with my die set on the Magnetic Card.  The cheat sheet is FREE – and you can get it right here! Thanks, Lisa!

I popped the sentiment die over the candle with more Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Under the gift card envelope/holder, I added a little message.  I stamped a Season of Chic sentiment in Soft Succulent on Basic White.  Then I added the shell two-step image from Season of Chic – stamping first in Mango Melody and the second image in stamped-off-once Petal Pink.  I added some Petal Pink splatters using the stamp in the set.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the matted panel under the gift card holder – making sure it’s hidden when closed!

For the inside of the main card, I stamped a second sentiment from Charming Sentiments in Soft Succulent on a piece of Basic White.  I added more Season of Chic seashells and splatters in Mango Melody and Petal Pink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Soft Succulent mat and into my Mango Melody card base, adhered the card front with Liquid Glue and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got more Season of Chic seashells and splatters on the front…

…and more of the Texture Chic Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The little Mini Pocket Envelope fits a gift card (or cashola!!) and is super easy to make!  And I really like the eclectic colors and designs in the Texture of Chic Specialty DSP, don’t you?  I used a slightly different design on the video – be sure to check it out!  The Charming Sentiments stamp set – with the bundled Sentiment Silhouettes dies – is something I’ve been waiting for for a while!  No more fussy cutting sentiments – whoohoo!!

I hope you like!

Not to put too fine a point on it – but…there’s only two days left to take advantage of my Special Bundles!  They’re a great way to get some goodies – like the Mini Pocket Envelope dies (Bundle #2 – A La Carte Die Cutting Wonders), Season of Chic Bundle AND the Texture Chic DSP (Bundle 5 – Artistically Speaking) or even all the new 2022-2024 In Colors (Bundle #1 – All the Pretty In Colors!).  Don’t miss out!

If you’d like to recreate this card, all the products and card cuts you’ll need are down below!

And…I’ve also created a printable PDF with written instructions and a list of the products used to create this project.  You can download, print and/or save it by clicking this image:

  1. Sorry that I missed your video! Your card is awesome, love the gift card holder! Good thing that Finn is such a helpful boy…would hate for you to find that pellet two weeks from now and have it end up in the trash. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Amy! Yep – finding it (and WASTING it!!) later would have been awful! 😉

  2. Having a cleaner-upper handy sure makes our work easier, does it not? Love this card. Now, if I should want to CASE it, I will have to make lots of purchases as I have NONE of it!

    • stampsnlingers

It sure does – and he does his work diligently! Thanks, Julie! 🙂

  3. Awesome project. I love the extra flap and sentiment on the front of the main card. The color selection is great. And you even spent extra time decorating the envelope. Your card is a gift of artwork.
