Stampin’ Up! Dragonfly Garden Sneak Peek Thank You with Video Tutorial

Good morning and happy Friday!  October is winding down – meaning November is right around the corner!  Yikes!  I passed up bags of cranberries yesterday at the grocery store.  Stopped.  Considered.  Decided there was plenty of time.  Fingers crossed that that is true and there’s not the Great Cranberry Shortage of 2020 – just to tie a bow on this year! 🙂

If you were able to join me yesterday for my YouTube live, I appreciate you spending some time with me – if not, but you’d like to see the replay, here ’tis! 🙂

This card is big sneak peek!  One of the cool little perks we Demonstrators get is early looks at new products – and THIS one is VERY new – and was only available to the demonstrators who are attending our Virtual conference coming up in a couple of weeks!

It’s a brand new suite, called Dragonfly Garden – that YOU will get to see in the Jan – Jun 2021 Mini Catalog! 🙂

Yes.  THAT’S just around the corner, too! 😳😳😳😳  WHOO-HOO!!

Check out this wonderful stamp set!  And – yes.  It has a bundled….PUNCH!!  Of two dragonflies!  Whaaaa?!?

And the accompanying 6″ x 6″ DSP – called Dandy Gardens is….gorgeous!!

AND – there’s also Mossy Meadow 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim and tiny, adorable….LADYBUG TRINKETS!!

Yeah.  Ladybug.  Trinkets.

I didn’t use them on this card.  But I will.  Oh yes – I will! 😉

Okay – that’s a LOT of lead-up for my sneak peek!  I used the Stampin’ Up! Dragonfly Garden set and the bundled Dragonflies Punch, with some of the Dandy Garden DSP for this one!

The layout for this one is from the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge!

I started with a Crumb Cake card base and adhered a Subtle 3D Embossed Crumb Cake panel to the front with Liquid Glue.  Remember – that’s a great way to make your card LOOK like you ran the front of it thru an embossing folder…but without the resulting warping that often happens when you do that! 🙂

Next, I used the next-to-largest Stitched Rectangle Die to cut two pieces of the Dandy Gardens 6″ x 6″ DSP.  I adhered them to the card front at a jaunty angle using Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the Dragonfly Garden sentiment in Calypso Coral.  Over that, I added some of the little…bugs (there’s debate over the species of these bugs – are they lightning bugs?  Dragonflies? No-see-ums?  Large gnats?  Small gnats?  No one is sure.  So – “bugs”)…in stamped off once Bumble Bee!

Then I cut the sentiment with the next-to-largest circle Stitched Shapes die.  I laid it where I wanted it on the card base – and used a pencil to mark the back.  Then I trimmed that little edge off with my Paper Trimmer.  Check the video if that was totally gibberish! 😉

I pulled out the Poinsettia Dies and the Autumn Essentials Dies and cut some Calypso Coral berries (x2) and Bumble Bee wheat stalks (one of each).   These are adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.  Then I popped the trimmed sentiment on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used some Stampin’ Seal to adhere loops of that yummy Mossy Meadow 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim.

On another piece of Whisper White, I stamped the large dragonfly in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  When it was dry, I colored it with my Light Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blend.  I used the Color Lifter in the middle of the wings to lighten the color and make it a little more dimensional.  Then I punched him out with the Dragonflies Punch.

Speaking of – I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the dragonfly onto the card front.

I punched out two teensy Calypso Coral dragonflies (with the punch!) and added them with Liquid Glue.

Finally, I colored some Rhinestone Basic Jewels with my Dark Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blend – and added them to the card front – and…that was it!

On the inside, I added the gorgeous wildflowers image from Dragonfly Gardens twice in Mossy Meadow.  I added more Bumble Bee “bugs”, too!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Bumble Bee mat and into the Crumb Cake card base and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more of the wildflowers and bugs on the front…

…and I put a little more of the Dandy Gardens DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  How MUCH do you love Stampin’ Up’s Dragonfly Gardens??  And the bundled Dragonflies Punch – yes, please!  I think – nope…I KNOW this one is going to be wildly popular and I can’t wait for y’all to be able to get your hands on it! 🙂
