Stampin’ Up! Christmas Pines for a Merry Medley!

It’s….. say it with me!…..HAWWWWMP Day!!!  And I have a Duck-Duck update.  The update is that…there is no update!  Yes, it’s true.

There’s been not a word.

Not a cackle.

Not a cluck or a chuckle.

Not a Twitter nor a tweet.

She doesn’t write.  She doesn’t call.  She unfriended me on Facebook.  I think she filed for emancipation.

We’ve been totally abandoned.

Ahhh-goose….fickle is thy name.

Sorry, folks – guess the stories about Duck-Duck’s eccentricities are lost and gone forever, dreadful sorry….Clementine…

Whoops – segued into a song there for a second! 🙂

So, on to the card.  It’s another 2016 Holiday Catalog sneak peek – this time you get to see the fun Merry Medley background stamp…

Merry Medley - Stamps-N-Lingers
…and some more of the Christmas Pines bundle.

Christmas Pines Bundle - Stamps-N-Lingers
When I combined them with some Presents & Pinecones DSP and added one Swirly Scribble die cut, here’s what I came up with.  Take a look-see:

Christmas Pines Merry Medley 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers
My layout was inspired by this week’s Mojo Monday sketch #460 – although as you can see, I turned it on its side.

MM460 Sketch
This card, like a few others, started as a CASE of a card in the new catalog – and that’s where my Merry Medley card front originated.  For that, I inked the background stamp in Whisper White Craft Ink, and stamped it on Basic Black card stock.  Now, Whisper White Craft ink is a bit…different.  It’s….goopier?  Or maybe that’s just mine.  Regardless – since the stamp is so big, I laid it upside down on my work table, rubbed the ink on it (very lightly, rubbed the pad side-to-side on the stamp), then carefully laid my card stock on the panel and rubbed it all over to transfer the image.

And that was the end of the CASE! 🙂

Christmas Pines Merry Medley 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers
After I lifted the card stock from the stamp, I matted it on a piece of Crumb Cake.  The center panel is a piece of Cherry Cobbler design paper from Presents & Pinecones, also matted on Crumb Cake.

My circle element starts with a die cut from the ever-popular Swirly Scribbles, cut in Crumb Cake card stock, which acts as a wreath base.  Eeeeeevrry wreaaaaath has a baaaaaasee….

Oh, sheesh, sorry!  Maybe I’m tired – I keep typing into song….

Anywho – I cut the Swirly Scribble wreath to give me something to build on and help make the circle.  I cut several of the smallest pine boughs from the Pretty Pines Thinlits, from Garden Green card stock, and used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere them to the wreath.

Then I used a little more of that Liquid Glue to adhere it to the card front.

Christmas Pines Merry Medley 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers
To stay true to the sketch, I let the edge of the wreath slide off the edge of the card, then I snipped the excess.

The sentiment is a piece of Whisper White card stock, that I punched the top of with my Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, and rounded the bottom corners of with my Project Life Corner Punch.

Then I stamped the sentiment from Christmas Pines in Cherry Cobbler and added the little leaves shapes in Garden Green

Christmas Pines Merry Medley 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I stamped the pinecone base images in Crumb Cake and Sahara Sand and then used Soft Suede to stamp two different designs over the top.  These are the smaller pine cones in the set – and I used the small die in Pretty Pines to cut them out.  I also cut one of the little berry shapes out in Copper Foil and then cut it apart so I had several little berried to stick in my “bunch”!

Christmas Pines Merry Medley 8 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Using Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue again, I built my little pine cone bunch, with the last cone being popped on with Stampin’ DImensionals.  I also cut a little bow from Cherry Cobbler with the die in Pretty Pines, and stuck it on with a Glue Dot.  In the interest of more-is-better, I made a little Copper Metallic Thread bow, adhered it with a dab of Liquid Glue, and finished it off with a Garden Green Enamel Shape.  Then I popped the tag on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card front was done!

Christmas Pines Merry Medley 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers
On the inside, I kept it basic and simple, SNAILing a piece of the Presents & Pinecones DSP, matted on Crumb Cake, to a Whisper White panel, which I also matted on Crumb Cake.  I added a few of the tiny leaves images in Garden Green and that was it.

Christmas Pines Merry Medley 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I SNAILd the liner in to my Cherry Cobbler card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

For my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I reprised the Garden Green leaves from Christmas Pines on the front…

Christmas Pines Merry Medley 6 - Stamps-N-Lingers
…and gave it a custom envelope flap with more of the Presents & Pinecones DSP.

Christmas Pines Merry Medley 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Et Voila!  I love this color combo – Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Garden Green and Basic Black – I think it’s a great Christmas-y theme.  And the Merry Medley is going to be a favorite, I can tell.  I don’t have to say anything about Christmas Pines and Pretty Pines, do I?

You already know.

Hope you like! 🙂
