Happy Sunday! Hope you’re having a great weekend – we are having what I HOPE is not our two-days of Spring! Here in the south – we put up with Winter cuz of the promise of Spring-in-the-South (which is spectacular)! Some years we get weeks and weeks and then others…I think we get…like… 2 hours of Spring and then…HOT hits! Hoping this is not one of those years!
My card today would be SO fun for anyone who has a birthday in the Spring ANYwhere in the country! It uses the new Attention Shoppers stamp set and dies – which will be available for you on 1 May! YEAH! AND – we’ve got a couple of HUGE (no – literally HUGE) and wonderful 3D Embossing folders. I used one – the Dotted Circles 3D Embossing Folder to add a fun little bit of texture. Take a look-see:
The layout for this one is from this week’s Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge.
And the color palette is from the Global Design Project color challenge.
I started by stamping the cute Attention Shoppers shopping bag image all over the front of a Balmy Blue card base in Balmy Blue ink.
I embossed a piece of Basic White cardstock in the new Dotted Circles 3D Embossing Folder and matted it on Lemon Lolly cardstock with Liquid Glue. Then I adhered the matted panel onto the front of the card base with more Liquid Glue.
I used the Something Fancy die set – available right now AND carrying over into the new 2024-25 Annual Catalog (yeah!) to cut out the largest tag in the set – with a cute topper in place to make a hole – from a piece of Fresh Freesia paper from the retiring-soon Lighter Than Air 6″ x 6″ DSP.
I used some Lemon Lolly Baker’s Twine to make a fun bow (see how in the video – linked below!) and then adhered the tag to the embossed panel with Liquid Glue.
Using the cute die in the Attention Shoppers die set, I cut out a Lemon Lolly shopping cart and the legs/wheels. I adhered the legs to the cart with Liquid Glue.
On Basic White cardstock, in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, I stamped the shopping bag image three times and the birthday cake image. I colored them with the Balmy Blue, Fresh Freesia and Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blends and cut them out with the coordinating dies in the Attention Shoppers set.
I adhered the shopping bags together with Liquid Glue and then adhered the cart to the bags – making sure that it looked like the birthday girl had been having a LOT of fun! Then I popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I slid the cake behind the bags – adhering it with Liquid Glue.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Attention Shoppers sentiment in Fresh Freesia ink and cut it out with the f label die. I also cut a Lemon Lolly label – and adhered the sentiment to it with a little Liquid Glue.
I put a Stampin’ Dimensional on the left end of the matted sentiment – and some Liquid Glue on the other end – and adhered it to the shopping cart.
Then I added some Balmy Blue Rainbow Adhesive-backed Dots and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped a second Attention Shoppers sentiment in Fresh Freesia on a Basic White panel. Then I added the shopping bag in Balmy Blue and colored it with the Lemon Lolly and Fresh Freesia Blends. I added a Lemon Lolly Rainbow Adhesive-backed Dot, too.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Lemon Lolly mat and into the Balmy Blue card base and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Attention Shoppers shopping bag on the front…
…and more of the Lighter Than Air DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! So…this Attention Shoppers set is…sorta perfect, right?! I suspect most of us enjoy a little retail therapy every once in a while and…for our birthday?! Uhm…yes, please! Okay, I admit – toting a cake around with candles burning might NOT be the safest thing – but it’s already all tilty and falling over and everything, so….🤷♀️. And – isn’t that Dotted Circles 3D Embossing Folder FUN!?!
