Stampin’ Up! Soft Seedlings Sneak Peek Thinking of You Card

Well – it happened.  The weekend flew by and Monday is here again!  On a BRIGHTER note – we’re only FOUR days away from the launch of the Jul – Dec 2022 Mini Catalog!  Yup – not even counting today – cuz…we already got up so the day is PAST! 😉  Are you ready for Friday?  It’s going to be awesome!!

I’ll be ordering Shares AND Special Bundles first thing on Friday morning so…if you’re not in on those yet…get busy!!

On Friday – you MIGHT miss a sweet little stamp set – called Soft Seedlings – when you’re placing your order.  Don’t!  Do not miss it!  It’s super sweet and simple.  It’s what I used today – along with the new Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder and some very cool Natural Finish 7/8″ Ribbon (which…you can actually get right now!).  AND – I have a cool coloring technique for you!  Check it out!

The layout for this one is from the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge this week!

And I was inspired by the Hand Stamped Sentiments photo challenge!

I started by embossing a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Early Espresso cardstock in the Timber 3D Embossing Folder.

For this card, I used the Baby Wipe Technique – have you heard of it?  Probably – it’s been around for a minute. 🙂

I placed a baby wipe in an empty stamp case and used my Stampin’ Ink Refills – in Pumpkin Pie and Mango Melody mostly – with some Cajun Craze and Daffodil Delight dropped in here and there to create a what looks like a hot mess, right?!

Using that hot mess as an ink pad, I inked the large leaf from the Soft Seedlings stamp set and stamped it on a piece of Kraft 6″ x 6″ Paper.  I cut the image out using the fourth from largest Deckled Rectangle Die.

Then I embossed the panel in the new Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder.

I cut a length of Natural Finish 7/8″ Ribbon and – again using my baby wipe as an ink pad – stamped the small leaf image from Soft Seedlings all over it.  I lightly frayed the ends and adhered it to the Timber-embossed Early Espresso panel with Stampin’ Seal+.

Over the top, I adhered the Deckled Rectangle with Liquid Glue.

On another length of the Natural Finish 7/8″ Ribbon, I stamped the sentiment from Soft Seedlings in Cajun Craze ink.  I cut a banner into one end and then adhered it to the embossed card front with a couple of tiny staples – from a non-Stampin’ Up! Craft stapler.

Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the entire panel to the front of my Early Espresso card base.

I added a few Rustic Metallic Adhesive-backed Dots and the card front was done!

For the inside, I cut the largest Deckled Rectangle from a piece of Kraft 6″ x 6″ Paper.  Then I used the baby wipe “ink pad” and stamped the large leaf twice across the bottom.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the die cut to the inside of the Early Espresso card base and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the large Soft Seedlings leaf on the front…

…and more of the small leaf all over the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The baby wipe technique is really cool – every time you stamp it’s a little different – and it’s PERFECT for Fall-themed cards!  The big bold leaf from Soft Seedlings – a flyover set for sure, but…circle back! – is a great fit to use with it!  Get it – and the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder! – on 1 Jul 2022!!  And – don’t forget about the Natural Finish 7/8″ Ribbon – it’s really pretty all by itself – but…the fact that you can COLOR it AND stamp it is…amazeballs!!

I hope you like!

If you’d like to recreate this card, all the products and card cuts you’ll need are down below!

And…I’ve also created a printable PDF with written instructions and a list of the products used to create this project.  You can download, print and/or save it by clicking this image:

Who could resist this face?!?

You think you could?

Look closer….

Don’t fool yourselves, folks – no human person can resist.

In fact…one MIGHT even say….if one were a Trekkie….that….”resistance is futile”!
