Stampin’ Up! Floating & Fluttering Garden Wishes Sneak Peek

Happy Friday!  Are y’all recovering from your food comas?  Got your stretchy pants washed and waiting for the next eating frenzy (aka Christmas Dinner)??  LOL

We got our food-exchange accomplished in good order yesterday – and all ended up with way too much to eat.  So pretty much par for the course – other than us being at our house and them being at theirs!  Thanksgiving-in-the-time-of-COVID.

I’ve been enjoying reading everyone’s comments on my Blog Candy post – y’all have reminded me that there is much to be grateful for – even in ….the time-of-COVID!  If you want to read them – and leave your own and be entered to win the Jolly Gingerbread Paper Pumpkin Kit! – here’s a link!

My card today is a little sneaky-peak at the Floating & Fluttering stamp set with its wonderful bundled Fluttering Dies!  I pulled in a little Garden Wishes and….Fine Art Floral DSP!  All of these will be available to you on 5 Jan 2021 in the new Jan – Jun 2021 Mini Catalog.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s Sunday Stamps challenge.

And…this card really works for the As You See It challenge.  I’d fill in the blank with…Flirty Flamingo.  It’s just not my jam! 😉

I started with some of the stunning HAND PAINTED! – Fine Art Floral DSP that I matted on Mossy Meadow for the card front.

I wrapped some new Mossy Meadow 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim twice around the panel and tied a bow.

On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the large multi-image stamp from Floating & Fluttering in Basic Gray Ink.  Then I cut the whole image out with the big die in the Fluttering Dies.  When you use this die – all the images are all attached together!

I colored the leaves with my Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends Combo and the butterflies with my Flirty Flamingo and Petal Pink Blends Combos.

Then…I snipped the leaves off and one of the butterflies so I could separate them on the card!

On another piece of Whisper White, I stamped the frame from Floating & Fluttering in Mossy Meadow, then added a sentiment from Garden Wishes in Flirty Flamingo.  I cut the label with the matching die in the Fluttering Dies and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I pulled out my Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper and selected a berries die cut and a couple of leaves.  Using Liquid Glue, I slid them under the popped-up sentiment and adhered them to the card front.

Then I added the die cut leaves using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and Liquid Glue.  Finally, I adhered the single butterfly with Liquid Glue in the top left corner and the two-butterfly die cut in the bottom right with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A single Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewel on the sentiment finished off the card front.

On the inside, I stamped a second Garden Wishes sentiment in Flirty Flamingo on a Whisper White panel.  I inked just the upper part of the dandelion in Basic Gray, stamped it twice on scrap paper then stamped it over top the sentiment.  I did the same with the little blown-dandelion spikey do-ha’s image, too!  And then I added a single Champagne Rhinestone.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and into my Flirty Flamingo card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got the Garden Wishes dandelion and blown-dandelion spikey do-ha’s in Basic Gray on the front…

…and a little more Fine Art Floral DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Floating & Fluttering is an Image-Only set – which means that you can add any sentiments you like to make it your own!  The fun label frame and matching die cut from the bundled Fluttering Dies is a perfect size for a TON of sentiments you probably already have!  And then…add butterflies and foliage to your heart’s content!

I picked the gorgeous Garden Wishes stamp set to bring my sentiment – and some images, too! – to the party! I LOVE this set!

I hope you like – and are making your list so you’ll be ready to go on 5 Jan!  Or – if you’re too anxious to get these and the other pre-order goodies I’ve been showing you, let me know!  If you join the SU! team as a Happy Shopper after 1 Dec – you can pick from this list to fill your Starter Kit! 😉

Finn Fan Fix

Okay – this is a video of one of our evolving tricks.  He does pretty well up close – we’re trying to get it when I’m further away.

Also?  It’s really hard to cue it AND hold the camera – so….don’t be expecting any LucasFilms-worthy footage here, okay? 😉

Hmmm – apparently turning the phone side-ways mid-way thru wasn’t the best plan.

I think I need to stick to making cards! 😂😂😂

  1. I rarely use Flirty Flamingo but it is very pretty today…and who doesn’t love butterflies. TGIF and you have the weekend to practice your photography skills…lol. Maybe a video next time would work?

  2. Such a pretty card! Love the floral paper with those butterflies! Love the video…nice party trick Finn. 😉

Thanks so much, Amy! Not sure when we’ll take the act on the road! 😉

  3. Heather Heroldt

Wow, Mary – beautiful take with our new DSP – love the bright colors and springy effect! Thanks so much for playing at Sunday Stamps!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks very much, Heather! Appreciate you stopping by! 🙂

  4. Good job Finny!

  5. Ooo, love those new dsp patterns and colors, and the butterfly set is pretty as well! You do collage so well, Mary, I love all the little details you included like the gold die cuts (I have those too and always forget to use them!). And Finn. Well, what can’t that clever dog do? Spin and twirl looks pretty good! So fun! Thanks for joining us and sharing your gorgeous card at Sunday Stamps!

    • stampsnlingers

Yes – he’s awful smart, that’s for sure! Thank you so much for the kind words, Stef – appreciate you taking the time to come by! 🙂

  6. Mary, this is so lovely! The beautiful floral background and the gorgeous butterflies make me long for warmer days. So happy you joined us at Sunday Stamps!

  7. Heidi Baks

Awww the butterflies are perfect for this week’s sketch. And I just love how you stamped the sentiment inside. Thank you for joining Sunday Stamps this week.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks very much, Heidi – appreciate you stopping by! 🙂

That’s a lovely card, Mary. I like the way you’ve combined all sorts from various sets to create this and it’s really making me itch to get my hands on some of that DSP. I also find Flirty Flamingo a fingernails-on-the-blackboard kind of colour on its own but it works in well with other things. Thanks for playing along with us at As You See It Challenge.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Jan! Flirty Flamingo IS a good color in SMAAAALLL doses – LOL! Appreciate the kind words – and…have fun with your DSP when you get it! 🙂

Mary, for someone who says Flirty Flamingo is not her jam, you used it like a boss! Lovely card and pink really works for butterflies and flowers! Apparently, Finn is more intelligent than I am. I’m still trying to figure out the difference between twirl and spin. Maybe a treat would help! Thanks for playing along with our jam challenge at As You See It Challenges!

    • stampsnlingers

LOL! I’ll bring the peppermints! Thank you so much for the nice words – appreciate you stopping by! 🙂
