Stampin’ Up! By the Dockside for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a sketch challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

Yesterday I brought you guys a Mother’s Day card – so it seemed fair to bring a Father’s Day card today!  And I’d been hankering to use the new By the Dock and bundled Dockside Dies, so it seemed like the perfect opportunity!  Take a look-see:

Seriously – the jumping frog?!?

As I mentioned, this was Sketch week – and here’s what we were working with!

And, I’m playing along with the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

I started with some Clubhouse DSP that I matted on Crumb Cake for the card front.

Using some SNAIL, I adhered a short-ish piece of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon onto the card front.

On a piece of Crumb Cake card stock, I stamped a sentiment from the By the Dock set in Soft Suede ink.  Then I cut it out with the largest label die in the Stitched So Sweetly Die set.  That’s popped onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Then I started stamping and cutting the little pieces and parts to finish off the design.

On scrap Crumb Cake, I stamped the oars from the stamp set twice in Soft Suede ink and cut them with their matching dies in the Dockside Dies.  I cut “grass” in Granny Apple Green (two of these), Garden Green and Old Olive vellum from the Perennial Essence 12″ x 12″ Vellum Pack.  I also cut a few extra “cattail” tops from a little bit more Crumb Cake – just the tops.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere those to the cattails on the grasses – I colored one of them with my Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker.

I built the collage from the grass up using Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals for the cardstock die cuts – and Glue Dots for the vellum grass.

The little frog is a die cut from the Dockside Dies – and is adhered with Liquid Glue.  And he’s about as cute as can be, isn’t he?!?

You can see I tucked the two oars in and amongst the grass – using Liquid Glue to secure them.

I added a few Night of Navy gems from the Holiday Rhinestone Jewels and the card front was done.

On the inside, I added a second sentiment in Soft Suede to a Whisper White panel.  Underneath, I stamped the shoreline image in Crumb Cake.  Then I used a Blender Pen to pull some of the Crumb Cake ink down – and to add Old Olive here and there.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Crumb Cake mat and into my Night of Navy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got the shoreline image again – and a super-cute Old Olive frog – on the front….

…and more of the plaid Clubhouse DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  So – we’ve got a boat and my husband fishes.  Which makes this By the Dock and matching Dockside Dies a really fun bundle for me.  But…I have to say – the leaping frog is what did it for me!  I mean – seriously cute.  I hope you like!
