Stampin’ Up! Just Us Girls Guest Designer Peaceful Nature’s Positive Thoughts

Good morning, peeps!  Well – today is the last week in my  “term” as a Guest Designer at the Just Us Girls Challenge! Which is why I’m in your Inbox so early!  Next Saturday we’ll be back on our normal posting schedule.  I’ve really enjoyed working with the fun folks at Just Us Girls – and am really honored that they asked me!

This week is a theme challenge – with butterflies taking a front-row-seat.  So – I pulled out the Positive Thoughts stamp set with the matching Nature’s Thoughts Dies (which YOU’LL be able to get on 4 Feb!).  I used a couple of sentiments from the Peaceful Moments stamp set, too.  Take a look-see:

Here’s our Just Us Girls Photo Week challenge badge – I hope that it – and my card – will inspire you to get inky and come play along!

I borrowed the layout from the Mojo Monday challenge!

I started with a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and used the leaf image from the Positive Thoughts stamp set to stamp all over it in Crumb Cake ink.  I embossed the panel in the new Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder and matted it on Copper Foil.

The middle layer is Vellum cardstock, cut with the frame die from the Nature’s Thoughts die set and stamped with the leaf image again in Crumb Cake.  I used Glue Dots hidden behind the stamped images to adhere it to the card front.

The next layer is more Crumb Cake cardstock.  On this one, I stamped the dahlia image from Positive Thoughts several times in Whisper White Craft Ink – then quickly sprinkled the wet ink with Copper Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool.  Over the embossing, I stamped the dahlia again with more of the Whisper White Craft Ink.

When it was dry I cut it with a rectangle die from the Stitched So Sweetly Die set.

I adhered the panel to the card front with Liquid Glue.

With the larger label die in the Stitched So Sweetly Die set, I cut a Copper Foil label, embossed it in the Coastal Weave folder and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

I wrapped a length of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon and one of 1/4″ Copper Trim around the panel – adhering them on the back with Glue Dots.

I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from Peaceful Moments in Blackberry Bliss ink on a piece of Crumb Cake card stock and cut it out with the larger curvy label die in Stitched So Sweetly.

I popped the sentiment over the ribbons with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped three Positive Thoughts butterflies in Blackberry Bliss ink on Vellum cardstock and cut them with their Nature’s Thoughts die.  Then I colored the backs of the butterflies with my Light Pretty Peacock and Dark Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends.

I tied a bow from the 1/4″ Copper Trim and adhered it to the card front with a Glue Dot.  Then I curled the butterfly wings and adhered them all to the card front with Glue Dots.  A pink gem from the Noble Peacock Rhinestones finished off the card front.

For the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Peaceful Moments in Blackberry Bliss on a Crumb Cake panel.  Over that, in stamped-off-once Crumb Cake, I added the leaves image from Positive Thoughts.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Copper Foil mat and into my Blackberry Bliss card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got Crumb Cake leaves and a Blackberry Bliss butterfly on the front…

…and on the envelope flap, too!

Et Voila!  I love this Positive Thoughts stamp set so much – the pretty images and sentiments – and the fact that there will soon be the Nature’s Thoughts Dies to cut them all out….is just icing on the cake!  I hope you like!

So – PSA!  I’ll be live tonight at 7pm Eastern on my Stamps-N-Lingers FB page.

Somedays – there’s no story behind a picture.

There’s just a dog…

Laying on an ottoman…holding his Octopus…

Wondering….does Mom have her camera ready?

Yeah – just watched Notting Hill this morning! LOL!
