Stampin’ Up! Brushed Bouquet Peaceful Moments Birthday Card

Good morning, y’all – happy new work week! Didja do anything fun this weekend?  We stuck pretty close to home – but that was a good thing!  I spent some time on Saturday uploading all my Retired goodies from the Jul – Dec 2022 Mini and the Jul – Aug 2022 SAB catalogs (plus a few other things!).  So – be sure you head over there and check it all out!  The info is down below! 🙂

When that was done, I sat down to make a card to share – and I pulled out the new Brushed Bouquet bundle.  It’s a beautiful image-only set, so…I also went to the Peaceful Moments stamp set for a birthday sentiment.  Take a look-see:

Good morning and happy Monday!  We’re just T-1 Day until the launch of the new Jul – Dec 2021 Mini Catalog and the Aug-Sep 2021 Sale-a-Bration.  Whoo-hoo!!

One of the first things that was on MY list to pre-order was the Nature’s Harvest bundle (and I am SORT of assuming its on YOUR list of first-things-to-grab tomorrow, too!).  I used it here – along with a Sale-A-Bration Host-Exclusive set called In Your Words.  And…I pulled the wonderful Peaceful Moments set (in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog) off the shelf, too.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Pampered Pets in Grace’s Garden

Well.  Here we are. Friday!  And – for some of you – today’s a holiday!  Cuz tomorrow we celebrate the birth of our nation!  I hope everyone has some plans – we’re going to TRY to go to our friend’s on Sunday for some social-distanced socializing!  Fingers crossed we get our taxes done by Sunday so we can make that happen!  I feel the need for a hamburger on the grill with friends!  And deviled eggs!  Yum!  And I’ve been collecting some dessert recipes that I’m itching to make when I have more-than-one-mouth to feed!

Speaking of taxes (look back a few sentences – I DID mention taxes!) – I am SO sorry that I wasn’t able to get together with y’all yesterday!  But – the COVID-push-back is almost over and…yep.  The taxman cometh!  So…gots to do what we gots to do!

My friend Jan – also one of the newest members of my Critters-N-Creatin’ Krew team! – came over on Wednesday and we made the card that I was going to make for you yesterday.  In fact, she was going to come over and sit in!  Maybe next week!

The card is a pet-sympathy card – using the Grace’s Garden stamp set and coordinating Garden Gateway Dies, plus the Pampered Pets bundle and a perfect sentiment from Peaceful Moments.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Remember Peaceful Painted Poppies Thank You

Hey y’all – happy Tuesday!  Hope your week is going well!  We went out to do a little shopping yesterday – all masked up and sanitized.   We got needed stuff, but…it’s exhausting.  Guess I’m out of shopping-shape! 🙁 I’m going back to my quiet social isolation.  It’s much more relaxing! 🙂

My card today is a thank you – using the wunnermus Peaceful Moments bundle with a little help from the Painted Poppies stamp set and Peaceful Poppies DSP.  Take a look-see:

The layout – and really the colors and flowers and…okay – most of it! – was inspired by the sketch and photo at this week’s FUSION challenge.

And I played along with the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge! I went down the middle and right column – but…one could probably make the case for a full-card BINGO!!

I started with a piece of the gorgeous Peaceful Poppies DSP and cut the largest Stitched So Sweetly rectangle die from the middle.  I matted the remaining paper on a Basic Black panel.  Then I popped the die cut piece back in place using Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used SNAIL to adhere a length of Poppy Parade 1/2″ Textured Weave Ribbon across the panel. I used two more shorter pieces and adhered them in a sort-of-remembrance-ribbon-shape with Glue Dots.

I stamped a Peaceful Moments sentiment in Tuxedo Black on Whisper White and cut it with the next to smallest Stitched So Sweetly rectangle die and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

I used the Poppy Moments Dies to cut a large, solid flower from a piece of Poppy Parade Peaceful Poppies DSP.  Using the small splotch stamp in the Painted Poppies stamp set, I stamped around the flower with Poppy Parade ink.  I cut the detailed flower – and two flower centers – from Basic Black cardstock.

I adhered the detailed flower die cut to the solid flower, using Liquid Glue on just the middle of the flower, and gently curled the petals.

Then I adhered the larger flower center with Liquid Glue and popped the smaller center on with a Black Stampin’ Dimensional.

I popped the flower on with more Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and then added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels to finish off the card front.

On the inside, I stamped the poppies image from Painted Poppies in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink across the bottom of a Whisper White panel.  I colored the flowers with my Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend Combo pack.  Colored some in Light and some in Dark.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Thick Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Painted Poppies on the front…

…and more of the Peaceful Poppies DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How much do you love the Peaceful Poppies DSP?  It’s just stunning, isn’t it??!  Well – it will be GONE soon!  It’s not carrying over –  and it’s only available while supplies last, so…get some (more!) now!   Fortunately – the Peaceful Moments and Painted Poppies bundles are carrying over so…..whew!  I hope you like!

If you want to recreate this card – all the Stampin’ Up! products you need are listed down below along with the card cuts!

Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Painted Poppies Gate Fold Card with Video Tutorial!

Happy Friday!!  Hope you’ve had a good week – and are looking forward to the weekend! Which I hope will be different in SOME way from the week!  Oh – hey!  You could spend part of your day tomorrow with us on our Ornate Garden FB Live Event!  Check below for the deets and a link to join the event page!!  It’ll be fun – I promise!

If you were able to join me for my YouTube video – I appreciate you spending some of your day with me!  If not, but you’d like to see the replay…here ’tis!

I used the wunnermus goodies from the Peaceful Poppies Suite – the DSP and both the Peaceful Moments bundle (the Poppy Moments Dies are BACK!!) and the Painted Poppies stamp set to make this fun Gate-Fold Card.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the CAS Colours & Sketches sketch challenge.

And the pretty color palette is from the Inspire. Create. Challenge.

And it works great with the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge, too!  Right down the left column!

The gate fold is really easy.  I started with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Pool Party and – along the long edge – used my Simply Scored board to score at 2 1/4″ and again at 6 1/2″.

I matted two pieces of Peaceful Poppies DSP on Blackberry Bliss card stock and adhered them to the two gates with Liquid Glue.

I wrapped a 1″ x 12″ strip of the Peaceful Poppies DSP around the card, securing it in the middle with Liquid Glue – not TOO snugly, okay?

The Peaceful Moments sentiment is stamped in Poppy Parade on an angled Whisper White rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly die set.  Then I adhered it to the belly band with Liquid Glue.

I cut two solid flowers from a piece of Poppy Parade paper in the Peaceful Poppies DSP.  Using the splotches image in the Painted Poppies set, I added Poppy Parade texture (aka splotches!) to each flower.  Then I adhered a detailed flower die cut in Basic Black to each one (only using Liquid Glue in the middle of the detailed die cuts – letting the edges remain loose).

I cut a few flower centers from Black Foil and adhered them with Liquid Glue.

With the leaf die in the Poppy Moments, I cut three Old Olive leaves.  With the berries die in Frosted Bouquet, I cut three Blackberry Bliss berries.  These are adhered to the sentiment panel with Liquid Glue.

I lightly curled the edges of the larger flower and used Liquid Glue in the middle to adhere it over the leaves.  Then I tucked the smaller flower up under the edge, adhering it with Liquid Glue.  And that was it for the card front and belly band!

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Peaceful Moments in Poppy Parade on a Whisper White panel. In the corner, I added the smaller flower image from Painted Poppies in Tuxedo Black, then stamped the large fill image in stamped-off-once Poppy Parade.  I added a few Poppy Parade splotches for some texture.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Blackberry Bliss mat and into the card base and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Painted Poppies flower on the front…

…and a little more Peaceful Poppies DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!!  This Peaceful Moments stamp set is so wonderful – and I am really glad that the bundled Poppy Moments Dies are back in stock and available to you!  Paired with the Painted Poppies images and gorgeous Peaceful Poppies DSP – it’s just a WOW combination!

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Sometimes there’s doubt about the parentage of animals.

Do they look and act more like their mother?  Or their father?

Well – with Finn, there is little doubt.

He is EXACTLY like his father.

No – not THAT father (although…yea.  They’re pretty similar!!)

The OTHER one.

I am frequently complaining to Wayne that he can – with no aid from tools of any sort – not a compass, nor a laser tape measure, nay – not even survey equipment – park a vehicle (or 3) right. Smack. In the middle of any road – anywhere.

And his son (my sweet Finn-y) – apparently inherited the trait.

Case in point.

He’s got the entire kitchen floor.  Or – gosh – the entire HOUSE!

But no.

With the precision of a NASA engineer…with his trusty slide rule…he places himself in the “aisle”.

Right. Smack. Dead. Center.

So I get to step over him – or go around the island (the looooong way!)

As his father looks on proudly!

That’s-ma BOY!!

Stampin’ Up! Sentimental Poppies for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a color challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

When I saw the color palette for the challenge this week, I thought of the Peaceful Poppies DSP right away.  And then, I saw a cool sketch challenge and…boom!  So Sentimental and the awesome bundled Stitched So Sweetly Dies came off the shelf.  Take a look-see:

Here’s our color challenge.

And this is the sketch that gave me the “boom!” moment.  It’s from the Tuesday Morning Sketches.

I started with a design in the Peaceful Poppies DSP and matted it on Old Olive for the card front.

I wrapped some of the Old Olive ribbon from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack (get the whole suite on 1 April 2020!!) twice around the card front – securing it in the back with Glue Dots.

Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the flowers from the Painted Poppies stamp set in stamped-off-twice Poppy Parade on a piece of Poppy Parade paper from the Peaceful Poppies DSP.

Again with the Stamparatus, I stamped the So Sentimental sentiment in Tuxedo Black – stamping the image multiuple times to get it good and dark.

Then I cut the image/sentiment with the next-to-largest rectangle die from the Stitched So Sweetly die set.  I also cut the same size from an Old Olive piece of the DSP.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere both die cuts to the card front – keeping the sentiment panel straight and angling the “mat” die cut.

I pulled out the Peaceful Poppies Elements and chose a couple of vellum flowers and some vellum leaves.  Using Glue Dots (under the embossed portions of the velum) – I adhered the flowers.  Then I used little dabs of Liquid Glue to tuck the leaves in under the flowers.

I tied a double-loop simple bow from the Old Olive Ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Finally, I added some Peaceful Poppies Sequins with little dabs of Liquid Glue – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a sentiment from Peaceful Moments in Tuxedo Black on Whisper White, using the Stamparatus.  Over the top, in stamped-off-twice Poppy Parade – I added those pretty poppies again!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Old Olive mat and into my Blackberry Bliss card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Painted Poppies on the front…

…and some more of the Peaceful Poppies DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love it when several sets and bundles can come together as well as the So Sentimental bundle, Painted Poppies and Peaceful Moments sets have done in this card.  The Peaceful Poppies DSP is the perfect tie-er-together-er, don’t you think?!  I hope you like!

If you want to recreate this card – all the Stampin’ Up! products you need are listed down below along with the card cuts!

Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Parisian Poppies Double Flip Fun Fold!

Good Friday morning, y’all!!  Another week – done!   Did it feel shorter (and hence…better!) with the Monday holiday??

If you were able to join me for my YouTube Live Video yesterday –  I appreciate you spending some of your day with me!  If not, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

I saw this Double Flip-Fold card on France Martin’s blog and thought it was so fun and easy….which it totally is!  I decided to use the Peaceful Moments Bundle and Painted Poppy stamp set – combined with gorgeous Parisian Blossom Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

The front of the card was already close to the FUSION sketch challenge this week – I simply modified the position of the flip portion (sliding it to the rigth instead of centered like a “normal” double-flip).  That gave me more room to collagify!

I started with the “first” card base – Basic Black at 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ and scored and folded it at 5 1/2″.  The “Flip” is Basic Black, 3″ x 8 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″.

I used the gorgeous Parisian Blossoms Specialty DSP on the front short panel of the first card base and on the inside back – both pieces are matted on Pool Party and adhered with Liquid Glue.

On the flip card base, I used my Stamparatus to stamp the sentiments from Peaceful Moments in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on two Whisper White panels.  On the inside panel, I also stamped two of the flowers from the Painted Poppies stamp set in Basic Gray – then I colored them with my Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends Combo.   I matted each on Pool Party and adhered them inside the smaller flip card base.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the small card inside the larger card base.

For my collage, I used multiple dies from the Poppy Moments Die set to cut my flower and a bevy of leaf parts.  The flower has a solid piece of Petal Pink (I used a Sponge Dauber to ink the edges with Petal Pink ink) then I adhered a Basic Gray detailed flower with Liquid Glue. I cut a large flower center from Champagne Foil and adhered it with Liquid Glue, then I popped a smaller Black Foil center on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the leaves, I cut solid and detailed leaves in Pool Party and Champagne Foil, and also in Pool Party vellum from the So Very Vellum Specialty DSP (coming on 3 March in the second Sale-A-Bration Release!).  I glued the leaf parts together and then…started doing my dry-fit on the front of the card (which is the front of the smaller flip card base!

When I was happy – I took a picture with my phone…

Then I picked up the flower and took a second picture.

I adhered all the leaves with Liquid Glue.

Using Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine, I made a loose double-loop figure-eight (I show this in the video!) and stuck it in the middle of the leaves with a couple of Glue Dots.  Then I popped the flower over top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewel – and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Painted Poppies flower in Basic Gray and Petal Pink on the front…

…and a little more Parisian Blossoms Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Finn Fan Fix

On Wednesday, we picked up a new toilet.

Yes – the life of a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is glamourous, indeed.

We’ve needed a new toilet for a minute – in our second bathroom.

By minute, I mean…well.  A MINUTE!

FINALLY broke down and paid for a “special order” toilet.  Meaning – we wanted it in bone.  Seriously?!?  BONE is a “special order”?!?

Why yes.  Yes it is.

Anywho – we finally got it.

So the menfolk put it in on Wednesday evening.

Gettin’ that old one out’s gonna be a booger, Dad.  You’re prolly gonna get wet!

Wiggle it, Dad – you gotta get it down on that wax thingy!

Doya need a tool or anything??  I’m a little thirsty…..how much longer were ya thinkin’??

Hmmm.  Those’r some complicated directions.  Why we reading directions??  We MEN!  Don’t need no stinkin’ directions!

Mary’s note:  that last picture is probably Pulitzer worthy.  Rare sighting of y-chromosomes reading instructions!

Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Poppy Moments Sympathy Card

Happy Happy Hawwmp day, y’all!  We’re here in the south with just a “little rain” this week – LOL.  Which is to say – we’re soaking here.  I actually put a rain jacket on this morning to go out to the barn.  Yes – it’s been THAT wet today.  Bleh!

I took a meander thru my card stash this week and realized that I don’t have any sympathy cards.  We don’t like it, but…we all know that the need for a sympathy card is always looming, right?  I decided that I’d best get busy.  Which is exactly what I did today, using the Peaceful Moments stamp set and just a splash of color from a little Peaceful Poppies DSP.  Take a look-see:

I love this layout and it came from the Mojo Monday sketch challenge!  I’m so glad this challenge was re-invigorated by Julee Tilman!  🙂

I started by cutting the second-to-largest rectangle die from the Stitched So Sweetly Die Set from a Whisper White panel.  I used the same die to cut a Basic Black rectangle.  Then I put the black rectangle in the hole in the white panel – and ran the whole thing thru my die cutting machine in the Stone 3D Embossing Folder (which…comes with the Power Of Hope stamp set as a $100 reward from the 2020 Sale-A-Bration First Release!).

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the Whisper White Panel to a Basic Black met – then adhered the black die cut into the negative space.

I cut the same size rectangle from a piece of the Peaceful Poppies DSP and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I pulled out my Peaceful Poppies Elements and, on a black circle die cut, stamped the sentiment from Peaceful Poppies in Versamark Ink.  I sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool.

I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere another die cut from Peaceful Poppies Elements – the scalloped-edge strip – across the card front.  Then I popped the circle sentiment on with Dimensionals as well.  And…the card front was done!

On the inside, I used my Stamparatus to add a second sentiment in Tuxedo Black to a Whisper White panel.  On the bottom, I adhered another Peaceful Poppy Element die cut with Liquid Glue.  I also used Liquid Glue to adhere a single Peaceful Poppy Sequin by the sentiment.  With my Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Marker – I carefully filled in the little hole in the middle of the adhered sequin! 😉

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Poppy Parade card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Peaceful Poppy Element die cut on the front…

…and a little more Peaceful Poppies DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I do so love this gorgeous Peaceful Poppies DSP, don’t you?  The colors are simply stunning and they can do ALL the work for you!  Add in the sentiments with their beautiful fonts from the Peaceful Moments stamp set and…boom!!  I hope you like!

If you want to recreate this card – all the Stampin’ Up! products you need are listed down below along with the card cuts!
