Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! Today’s a fun sketch challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
I figured a Halloween card was in order – since there’s only a couple three more weeks until the big day! So…I pulled out some of my favorite new DSP – the Monster Bash DSP – and the fun Spooktacular Bash bundle. Take a look-see:
And here’s our sketch – I stayed pretty close to the mark, I think.
And I figured I’d play along with the Stamp Ink Paper challenge!
I cut two likely pieces of the Monster Bash DSP and used some Liquid Glue to adhere them to a Crushed Curry mat. I adhered that to a second mat in Pumpkin Pie to make the card front.
Using SNAIL across the seam between the two designs, I laid down a length of Basic Black 3/8″ Scalloped Edge Ribbon, securing it on the back with Glue Dots.
I used a Circles Layering Die to cut a Pumpkin Pie circle that I embossed in the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder and popped onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
With an Ornate Frames Die – bundled with the Spooktacular Bash stamp set – I cut a frame from Crushed Curry and popped over the embossed circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The sentiment, from Spooktacular Bash, is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto a strip of Crushed Curry using my Stamparatus. I snipped a banner end and edged the strip with my Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker. I used Liquid Glue on the left end to adhere it to the circle – and a double-stack of Stampin’ Dimensionals on the other end.
I cut my fave character from the Monster Bash DSP – she looks so sly and up-to-no-good, doesn’t she?!? – with a circle Stitched Shapes Die and adhered it over the sentiment/circle with Liquid Glue.
I added a Pumpkin Pie gem from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the sentiment strip and the card front was done!
On the inside, I used my Stamparatus to add a second sentiment and an image from the Spooktacular Bash set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I used my Granny Apple Green, Basic Gray, Crumb Cake and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Markers to color the image. Then I added another Pumpkin Pie Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewel.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie mat, then into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another of the Spooktacular Bash images on the front…
…and some more Monster Bash DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! So – yea. It’s true. Halloween isn’t my BIG HOLIDAY of the year! But…I have to admit that I am really loving the Spooktacular Bash stamp set with it’s bundled Ornate Frames Dies. And Monster Bash DSP has some seriously fun designs! I hope you like!
