Stampin’ Up! Truck Ride by the Waterfront

Good morning, y’all!  Happy Sunday!  Hope all is well is in your neck of the woods and that you’re having an amazeballs weekend!

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending part of the weekend with me!  If not, but you’d like to check it out, here’s the spot!

To make last night’s birthday card, I used the new Ride With Me bundle – which includes the stamp set by that name and the Truck Ride dies – then I added a few woodsy elements from the Waterfront stamp set – and some Pressed Petals Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge – I just turned it on the side!

I started with some woodgrain Pressed Petals Specialty DSP and matted it on Pretty Peacock for the card front.

On the art panel – a small piece of Very Vanilla, I used Crumb Cake ink to add the “ground” and “mountains” from the Waterfront stamp set.  Then I stamped the pine trees in Shaded Spruce – stamping a couple of times without re-inking.  I matted the panel on Pretty Peacock and used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the card front.

On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the truck image from the Ride With Me stamp set in Tuxedo Black.  Then I used the new Light & Dark Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blends to color the truck body, the light and dark Smoky Slate Blends for the tires – and the light Balmy Blue Blend to lightly color the window in the door.

Then I fussy cut the truck – and edged it with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.

On some Very Vanilla, I stamped the Ride With Me balloons twice with Tuxedo Black.  I colored the balloons with the light and dark Daffodil Delight, Pretty Peacock, Bermuda Bay and Purple Posy Stampin’ Blends, then cut them with their matching die in the Truck Ride Dies.

I popped the truck onto the art panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then I added one set of balloons with Liquid Glue and the second with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of linen-look paper from Pressed Petals, I used my Stamparatus to stamp the Ride With Me sentiment in Pretty Peacock.  Then I punched it with the Timeless Label Punch and adhered it with Liquid Glue.  I finished off the card front with a purely-deocrative piece of new Pretty Petals Specialty Washi Tape.

On the inside, I added a second Ride With Me sentiment in Pretty Peacock and some balloons in Tuxedo Black to a Very Vanilla panel.  I colored them with my Stampin’ Blends as I’d done on the front.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pretty Peacock mat and into my Daffodil Delight card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another bunch of Ride With Me balloons on the front…

…and some more Pressed Petals Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  A delivery of birthday balloons to the mountains!  Courtesy of the Ride With Me stamp set and the Truck Ride Dies.  Plus, of course, the scenery from the Waterfront stamp set and some woodsy ambience from Pressed Petals.  I hope you like!

P.S.  I got another couple of fun things in the mail yesterday for my birthday!  Check them out!

This first one is a wonderful card and some fun goodies from my friend (and fellow Demonstrator!) Elisha Smith from Ohio!  🙂

And then THIS one…is from my bestest-friend-sister-from-another-mother-Sally/Bak. It’s a hand-made beauty and she even included the “recipe”!

And – since I KNOW you like directions and will want to CASE this one…

Yep – she even decorated the envelope! #nonekkidenvelopes!

Stampin’ Trimmer Cutting Blades Update

We have reevaluated our strategy for launching Stampin’ Trimmer Cutting Blades (item 126995) after the number of difficulties demonstrators and customers experienced during the South Pacific and European launches.

First, we have decided to reduce the limit on blades from six to three. We anticipate blades to sell out quickly, but hope more demonstrators and customers will be able to order with the smaller limit.

Second, we still plan to notify demonstrators through an update with the exact date and time the blades will become orderable (which will NOT be this week, as previously indicated). For this first launch in North America, we will send an email to anyone who requested a notification about when the blades would become available. For future launches, updates will be announced to Demonstrators ahead of time.

Third, we have made several internal system adjustments to avoid the issues we faced with previous launches in the South Pacific and Europe and are hopeful those errors will not be repeated.

Finally, there are different error messages you will see if trying to add the blades to an order before they become available and after they have sold out.

  • On the day of the launch, if you try to order the Stampin’ Trimmer Cutting Blades before they are available, you will see this error message: “You may not order 1 of item 126995 because of promotion restrictions.”
  • When the blades have sold out, the message will return to the current message until the next launch: “This item has been discontinued and cannot be added to your order (126995).”

We also want to remind you we are still working on a new trimmer option and hope to have more information to share in the coming months.

A quick note from me:  Stampin’ Up! did not provide a date and time when the blades will be available to order.  So keep an eye on my blog and newsletter and I’ll post those details as soon as we have them! But I wanted to post this update since many of you have been asking about the Trimmer Blades.

Finn Fan Fix

My birthday present from the Man was a good game of Mr. Reindeer Tug.

No – he did NOT let me win.

Apparently, the concept of “gift” is…difficult!
