Stampin’ Up! Happy Tails Pressed Petals Sympathy

Happy Monday, y’all!  Don’t know if you’re in a re-opening state or still in a state-of-self-isolation, but… I hope your week is shaping up to be a good one!  Are you planning a Cinco De Mayo celebration?  🙂

My card today is one I hate having to make.  My friend from work (pre-retirement!) lost his sweet German Shepherd Jenna last weekend. He was, understandably, pretty down in the dumps.  So…I figured I’d send them a card and a little gift.  I pulled out the retiring Happy Tails stamp set, added a Stitched Be Mine heart and set it all atop some retiring Pressed Petals Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by this week’s CAS Colours & Sketches challenge.

And – it fits well with the Addicted to CAS Code Word challenge!

So – I started with a piece of wood pattern paper in the gorgeous Pressed Petals Specialty DSP (you guys – this wonderful paper is leaving us and is only available while supplies last – don’t miss a chance to get another pack in your stash!).  I added a strip of the burlap design on the right side with some Liquid Glue.  Then I matted it on Basic Black for the card front.

I wrapped a length of 3/8″ Denim Ribbon (this is sticking around for another year – YEAH!!) around the seam – securing it in the back with a couple of Glue Dots.

I stamped the sentiment from Happy Tails in Night of Navy on another piece of burlap paper and cut it out with one of the hearts in the Stitched Be Mine die set.

With my Journaling Pen, I made a doodle-dot-dash border around the edge of the heart – then popped it onto the card front with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

With the Dog Builder Punch (which IS carrying over!), I punched a Basic Black dog (I know – not a GSD….best I could do!!) and adhered him with a combination of Liquid Glue and Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Also using the Dog Builder Punch, I punched a little Terracotta Tile heart and adhered it with a dab of Liquid Glue.

I tied a denim ribbon bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot – and that finished off the card front!

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Happy Tails in Night of Navy on a Very Vanilla panel.  I added the paw print in Terracotta Tile right over the word “heart”.

Get it?  Paw print ON your heart?

Oh – check the gift…

Car Magnet.  See a theme?! 🙂

I added some more Terracotta Tile pawprints, then adhered the panel to a Basic Black panel and into my Terracotta Tile card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more of the paw prints on the front…

…and some burlap paper – with more paw prints! – on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I am sorry to see Happy Tails leave us – it’s perfect for this kind of need, don’t you think?  And Keep Calm and Wag On isn’t too shabby for this time in the world, either, is it??

And there aren’t enough superlatives for the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP – if you don’t have some – get it RIGHT NOW.  If you have some, get MORE.  RIGHT NOW!!  Just sayin!

I hope you like!

If you want to recreate this card – all the Stampin’ Up! products you need are listed down below along with the card cuts!

Finn Fan Fix

When I start dinner in the late afternoon, the first step is to tidy the kitchen.

You know – so I can mess it up again.

This involves putting away the clean dishes from the dishwasher and loading the breakfast/lunch stuff.  It’s never a lot, but you know.

Finn watches very diligently.

He knows when I switch from “emptying clean” to “loading dirty”.

And the INSTANT I make that switch, he is right there lickinglickinglicking.

After dinner – he knows he doesn’t even have to wait, so he’s right there from the jump.  He especially loves when I’ve used the griddler for like…a steak.  Or a hamburger.  Or asparagus.  He’s not all that picky! 😉

Lick…..

Stampin’ Up! Easter Promise on Pressed Petals with a Video Tutorial!

Good Friday morning, y’all!  It’s day 498 of Social Distancing.

Not really – just sort of feels like it is, doesn’t it??   It’s really starting to get real – another 30 days??  AND – Georgia just followed other states by issuing a Stay Home Order starting today.  Good idea – it’s NECESSARY.  But…I feel pretty confident that NO ONE will believe me when I whine that having my house cleaned (and not by me!)….IS essential!

And now you know.  I AM a first-world-sissy-baby.

C’mon, Mare – you’ve got a house, and food, and electricity.  The dog and cat and horses have food.  Wayne can fix or cobble together anything we need.  ZEWS 1 is on the job.  We’re healthy – and getting to the two-weeks-since-we’ve-been-anywhere-so-surely-that-means-we’re-completely-healthy point.  So…waaaaa.

Sorry.  I’m over it now.

Since along with a house and power comes internet (Thank goodness!) I was able to go live yesterday on my YouTube channel.  If you were able to join me – I appreciate you spending some of your day with me!  If not, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

The card we made is a pretty – and pretty easy!! – Easter card, using the Easter Promise stamp set from the Jan – Jun Mini Catalog, a sweet Ornate Layers Die cut and some Pressed Petals Specialty DSP (2019-2020 Annual Catalog).  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one came from the Mojo Monday challenge…I THINK you can see which sketch I used! 😉

And the Easter theme fits right into the Inspire. Create.  Challenge!

I started with some of the pretty sheet music paper from the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP and matted it on So Saffron for the card front.

Next, with the long, narrow die from the new Ornate Layers Die Set, I cut a Purple Posy rectangle.  I ran it thru the die cutting machine in the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Then, I matted a strip of wood-grain Pressed Petals Specialty DSP on So Saffron and adhered it over top with Liquid Glue.

I cut a Very Vanilla rectangle with the next-to-largest Stitched So Sweetly die and stamped the big Easter Promise sentiment in Mossy Meadow.

Next to it – also in Mossy Meadow – I added the floral spray.

I colored the flowers with my Purple Posy Stampin’ Blends Combo and the stems with my Light Mossy Meadow Blend.

Then I popped the panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used a Glue Dot to adhere a Linen Thread double-loop bow, which I topped with a purple Frosted Flower Embellishment and a Champagne Rhinestone.  And that was it for the card front.

Speaking of Glue Dots, though…

Other side of the room by my photo box.  No.  Clue.  Why.  🤷‍♀️

Anywho….

For the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Easter Promise in Mossy Meadow on a Very Vanilla panel.  I added the flowers, in Mossy Meadow, again in the corner, coloring them as I’d done on the front.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a So Saffron mat and into my Purple Posy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more Easter Promises flowers on the front…

…and more Pressed Petals Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Spring and Easter all rolled up in one!  Don’t let the Easter Promise stamp set – with it’s elegant flowers and simple sentiments – pass you by!  Easter is coming soon – and cards with messages of the hope of Easter are going to be especially welcome this year, I’m thinking!

I hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Leave a Little Sparkle Unicorn and Petals

Good morning!  It’s Hawwmmp Day!!  Whoo-hoo!

Yes – I still care about these things.  Just…not as much as I used to! 😉

So – my card today is going to be reminiscent of one I did a couple weeks back.  It’s a special order (they don’t upset us) so…I pulled the Leave a Little Sparkle stamp set and some Pressed Petals Specialty DSP and made another magical unicorn card for a tiny girl human headed off to school!  Take a look-see:

Similar – and yet…different, yes?  There’s the beauty of this wonderful craft of ours!

I started with a different design of the gorgeous Pressed Petals Specialty DSP and matted it on Daffodil Delight for the card front.

Then I stamped “Sparkles” (that’s what I named him) in the center of the oval in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  His mane is colored with the Light and Dark Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends – plus my Merry Merlot Stampin’ Write Marker.  I brushed his body with Frost White Shimmer Paint using a dried out Blender Pen.

Next, I grabbed the Lovely Leaves Dies and cut some Daffodil Delight and Rococo Rose flowers, some Mossy Meadow Leaves, a few Very Vanilla “wildflowers”, and a couple of Gold Glimmer leaves and small flowers.

I made a flower with the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape – I patted the back of each “petal” with my Embossing Buddy so they wouldn’t stick together.  In the middle is a Perennial Essence Floral Center.

I stamped a Leave A Little Sparkle sentiment in Merry Merlot on a strip of Daffodil Delight and bannerized the end with my Paper Snips.

Since I wanted a little more sparkle, I brushed the Very Vanilla “dandelions” with my Clear Wink of Stella.

Then I dry fit the collage and took a couple of pictures so I could put it all together.  Thought you might like to see how it all went together! 🙂

I adhered everything with Liquid Glue – with the exception of a couple of small flowers around Sparkles’ horn – I popped those on with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added some Noble Peacock Rhinestones and Rhinestone Basic Jewels – and some gold stars from the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley (this one is coming on 4 Sept in the 2019 Holiday Catalog)!

Before adding the Pressed Petals flower – I used a Glue Dot to adhere a double-length bow tied with Linen Thread.  I added the flower over top – with a little Liquid Glue – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second Leave A Little Sparkle in Merry Merlot to a Very Vanilla panel.  Over the top is the sparkly-flourish in Rococo Rose.  And a few more Most Wonderful Time gold stars just cuz!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Daffodil Delight mat and into my Merry Merlot card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Leave a Little Sparkle flourish in Rococo Rose and some gold stars on the front…

…and one of the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP papers – that coordinates perfectly with the flower on the front of the card! – on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Pressed Petals and Leave a Little Sparkle come together again to create a little girl’s fantasy!  I hope you like – I am quite sure that SHE will!

Stampin’ Up! Leave a Little Sparkle for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s Hop is a color challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with –  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop!

I might have gotten a little jiggy with the color challenge (a LITTLE, I said!) – I was making a card for my Mom to send to a young lady who is starting first grade this Fall.  I thought the unicorn and sentiments from the Leave a Little Sparkle set was perfect.  And a unicorn in a bower of flowers (yes, I said “bower”) seemed like just the thing – so I pulled out my Pressed Petals Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

Here’s the challenge.

And I borrowed the layout from this week’s FUSION challenge!

I started with the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP and matted it on Mossy Meadow for the card front.

I cut a strip of Very Vanilla and stamped the first sentiment from Leave a Little Sparkle in Mossy Meadow in the middle on the right side.  Then I matted it on Mossy Meadow and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I used SNAIL to adhere some Rococo Rose 1/2″ Gathered Ribbon across the top and bottom of the strip.

For the art, I stamped the unicorn from Leave A Little Sparkle in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Very Vanilla and cut it with a large Stitched Shapes die.  I colored his (her?) mane with my Light and Dark Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends and the Rococo Rose Stampin’ Write Marker (that gives three shades of the same color!).

I used an old Blender Pen to color the body and horn of the unicorn with Frosted White Shimmer Paint.  Then I brushed Clear Wink of Stella over the mane.  I popped the oval onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut several flowers in Very Vanilla and Rococo Rose using the die from the Lovely Flowers die set.  Each Rococo Rose flower got a Rhinestone Basic Jewel and the Very Vanilla’s got a Petal Pink Noble Peacock Rhinestone.  I also cut leaves from Mossy Meadow and Gold Foil.

Then I used Liquid Glue and Mini Dimensionals to adhere them around the unicorn horn and on the side of the oval.

I tied a double-loop bow from Mossy Meadow Linen Thread (part of the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack) and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Over the top I added a double-length simple bow from Linen Thread.  Finally, I added some gold stars from the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley (2019 Holiday Catalog – coming on 4 Sept) – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added the second Leave A Little Sparkle sentiment in Mossy Meadow to a Very Vanilla panel.  In the corners, I stamped the sparkle-flourish image in stamped-off-once Rococo Rose.  I added another gold star, just cuz…

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and into my Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a full-strength Rococo Rose flourish on the front…

…and more Pressed Petals Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I am hoping that this girly-flowerdy-unicorny card from Leave a Little Sparkle will appeal to the young recipient!  Who could really resist a unicorn peering from within a bower of pretty rose and cream flowers?  I hope you like!

Now that you’ve seen my card, take a minute to hop thru all our projects today  If you click on the Next Blog button, you’ll go right to Jaimie’s page. And you can just click on the names below to go direct to all the blogs!

Stampin’ Up! Pocketful of Happiness for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s Hop is a sketch challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with –  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop!

I decided to go “obvious” when I saw the sketch and pulled out the new Pocketful of Happiness stamp set and the matching Pocket Dies to make a birthday card for the challenge!  Take a look-see:

Here’s our sketch:

I also pulled elements from this week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge.

I started with some woodgrain paper from the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP and matted it on Soft Sea Foam for the card front.

Next up is a piece of Whisper White card stock that I embossed in the Corrugated Embossing Folder and matted on Soft Sea Foam – then adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a seperate piece of Whisper White, I used my Stamparatus to stamp the large and small floral images from Pocketful of Happiness in Tuxedo Black.  I used the matching die from the Pocket Die set to cut the large image and I fussy cut the small flower.

To color the images, I used the Dark Stampin’ Blends in Petal Pink, So Saffron, Mint Macaron and Soft Sea Foam.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the “pocket” and the smaller flower images to the card front.  Then, cuz…hello?  It’s me!…I stamped the large image again and fussy cut the dove, then popped her over the first dove with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

With the Well Written Dies, I cut three sentiments in Basic Black and adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I added a gold Metallic Pearl to the card front – two in flower centers and one off to the side on the pocket.  Finally, with a Glue Dot, I adhered a small bow tied from Linen Thread.  And..that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I used my Stamparatus to add a sentiment from the Pocketful of Happiness set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to a Whisper White panel.  I also added the floral spray image and colored it with my Stampin’ Blends.  I added a gold Metallic Pearl in the middle of the flower, too.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Soft Sea Foam mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got the floral spray image on the front…

…and more Pressed Petals Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love the florals in the Pocketful of Happiness stamp set – and the sentiments range from birthday to thank you, in lovely fonts.  And the Well Written Die set is just such a workhorse – I really LOVE word dies!  I hope you like!

Good morning, y’all!  Happy Sunday!  Hope all is well is in your neck of the woods and that you’re having an amazeballs weekend!

Stampin’ Up! Inspiring Iris for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s Hop is a Color challenge (and it’s a gorgeous one!) – so, I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with –  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop!

I pulled out one of my new stamp sets – this one is called Inspiring Iris and it’s really beautiful! – to play with this challenge.  And then (couldn’t help it!), I added a little of the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

And…our color challenge!

Love those colors together, don’t you?

So – let’s git it!

I started by matting some “linen” paper from the new Pressed Petals Specialty DSP on a Blueberry Bushel mat for the card front.

On some Very Vanilla, I stamped the pretty Inspiring Iris flower image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Then I stamped the flower-fill-in image (this is a three-step image) in Pretty Peacock and the stems/leaves-fill-in image in Old Olive.

The sentiment, also from Inspiring Iris – is stamped in Blueberry Bushel.  That sentiment stamp is actually curved already – perfect for adding just like that!

I cut the image out with a Rectangle Stitched Die.  While at the Big Shot, I also cut the same size die cut from some Blueberry Bushel card stock.

I adhered the Blueberry Bushel mat and the art panel to the card front with Liquid Glue.  I added a couple of strips of new Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape – purely decorative, it’s not “holding” anything on!

I added a single Noble Peacock Rhinestone in Pretty Peacock (been dying to use one ever since I got the pack!) and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Inspiring Iris in Blueberry Bushel to a Very Vanilla panel.  Then I took the carnation image and curved it on my Acrylic Block before stamping it in Tuxedo Black.  I added the flower-fill-in in Pretty Peacock and the leaves and stem in Old Olive.  I added another Noble Peacock Rhinestone, too.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Blueberry Bushel mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Inspiring Iris carnation on the front…

…and more of the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love this Inspiring Iris set – it’s a bit of a “fly-over” set, I think, but…do NOT fly over it, my peeps.  Do go to your catalog and check it out on page 111!  I hope you like!

Now that you’ve seen my card, take a minute to hop thru all our projects today  If you click on the Next Blog button, you’ll go right to Kristi’s page. And you can just click on the names below to go direct to all the blogs!

Stampin’ Up! Path of Pressed Petals Sympathy Card!

Good morning, y’all!  Here we are on Sunday!  The weekend progresses apace – WAY faster than two days during the week, don’t they?  What the heck is up with that??!

If you were able to join me last night for my FB live – I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me.  If not, but you’d like to see the replay, here you go!

The card we made – a Sympathy card (but we all agreed this would be a wonderful wedding card – different sentiment, of course.  LOL) – uses some pieces and parts from the new Pressed Petals suite!  The new Pressed Petals Specialty DSP in this suite is my new fave-paper-of-all-time….ever!  And look what happens when you combine it with the Path of Petals stamp set and the Heirloom 3D Embossing Folders and Dies (that coordinate with the Woven Heirlooms stamp set).  Take a look-see:

Boom-chakalaka! 🙂

The layout for this one is from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

I started by adhering some wonderful linen-look paper from the Pressed Petals DSP to a Rococo Rose mat for the card front.  Then I took some of the wild roses paper, adhered it to Rococo Rose and then to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I created the frame using the new Heirloom 3D Embossing Folders and Dies – I’ll be getting the new 3D Embossing Folder Plate soon, but for now I used 4 sheets of cardstock as a shim.  I cut the frame from Crumb Cake first, then embossed it in the folder.  I used a Sponge Dauber to brush Crumb Cake over the embossed parts of the frame.

I used my Bone Folder to add some creases in the corners of the frame to create some depth, then I added the frame to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the Path of Petals sentiment in Merry Merlot on Very Vanilla and cut it out with a Stitched Shapes Oval die.  Then I popped that inside the frame with Dimensionals.

I created the flower using “petals” from the new Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape and a 1/2″ Circle – you can see how in the video!  Then I added a Perennial Essence Floral Center.

I made a loop-de-loop with some Mossy Meadow Linen Thread from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo and some Glue Dots, then adhered my flower over top with another Glue Dot, and the card front was done.

On the inside, I used stamped-off-once Mossy Meadow, Rococo Rose and Crumb Cake to add the three-step flower image from Path of Petals to the middle of a Very Vanilla Panel.  Over top I added a second sentiment from Path of Petals in Merry Merlot.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Rococo Rose mat and into my Thick Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Path of Petals flowers in full-strength Mossy Meadow, Rococo Rose and Crumb Cake…

…and more of the wild rose paper from the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila! I think it’s pretty obvious why the Pressed Petals suite is going to be a fave of mine – and the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP already is!  Just go right ahead and get you a pack Right.  This.  Minute.  I mean it.  Don’t even wait!  Heck – get the whole suite – you won’t regret it one second!  I hope you like!

P.S.  DO get the new 3D Embossing Folder Plate, y’all – it’s going to make your life much easier with our new folders!  Just sayin’!

HOST CODE FOR 1 JUN – 15 JUN: VXTTY7PW

Use this host code when you order and receive a free gift from me! But, if your order is over $150, please don’t use this code (you’ll miss out on your own Stampin’ Rewards if you use it) but you’ll still get the free gift. New 3D Embossing Folder Plate Now Available!

The new 3D Embossing Folder Plate (item 149658) is now available to order! It’s designed to work with our new-style 3D embossing folders (which are thinner than our old-style Dynamic folders).

You can click on the picture above and open the flyer – then print it and keep it by your embossing machine and new 3D Embossing Folder Plate.  It’s got your new “sandwich” information right on it!

Remember that carryover 3D embossing folders will not be available to order at the start of the new catalog but I’ll let you know when they’re available to order.

Also keep in mind that we expect to receive staggered plate shipments in all markets during June and July as we build inventory. Which means, you may experience periods of time when it is unavailable to order if inventory is depleted; it will become available to order again when inventory is replenished.

How to Use the New Plate

The new plate makes up the difference in measurement between our old-style Dynamic Folders and our new-style 3D Folders in most die-cutting machines. The 3D Embossing Folder Plate replaces the Standard Cutting Pads in your 3D embossing folder sandwich for continued high-quality emboss results.

To create your emboss sandwich:

  • Use a die-cutting & embossing machine platform as a base; no matter which machine you’re using, use the standard platform which comes with your machine.
  • Use the 3D Embossing Folder with your paper in the middle.
  • Then use the 3D Embossing Folder Plate on top.

Given the differences in machines and platforms, you may still have to add a shim to get your desired embossing results. (You can also spritz your paper before embossing to maximize your embossed impressions.)

Without the new 3D Embossing Folder Plate, you will need to use several shims with the Standard Cutting Pad in your 3D embossing folder sandwich, depending on the die-cutting & embossing machine you use. Most machines will need between three to five sheets of cardstock to shim. Please be careful in how you shim; start out with fewer sheets first, then add sheets to get your desired results.  Stampin’ Up! won’t be responsible for replacing products broken due to using a sandwich which is too thick for a machine.

I’ve been busy with my thinning scissors.  I really want to clip the Man – but…even though we’d never show in the breed ring (for many reasons!) – I would really hate for his coat to come back in “wrong”.  And I don’t have a good guard for my horse clippers.

So…dog coat thinning scissors it is.

Working on skirt and pantaloonies.  And around his collar…where the knots get.

Wait – what?  You can’t see a difference?!?

Look close.

I cut about two dog’s worth off! 🙁

Humor me, people!
