Well it’s here.
Monday.
Again.
But – just this week and half of next and….it’s off the races.
Erh – the Coliseum!
So – a funny thing happened on the way to the Colise….
Ooops – sorry!
Let’s do a card – and leave the stand-up to….ANYone else! 😉
I pulled out the Friend Like You Bundle – and a little Perennial Essence Vellum and new Designer Series Paper to create a birthday card. But…it could easily be for any celebration! Take a look-see:
The layout for this one is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge!
I started with some Soft Sea Foam Subtles 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and matted it on So Saffron for the card front. I took a smaller piece of So Saffron Subtles 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, matted it on So Saffron as well, then adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
On a piece of Soft Sea Foam card stock, I stamped the grasses image from Friend Like you five times in Soft Sea Foam – then I added the cattails image.
I stamped the dragonfly image (it has two dragonflies on a single stamp) several times in stamped-off-once Pretty Peacock. Then I adhered the panel to the card front with Liquid Glue.
With the two grasses dies from the bundled Friendly Silhouettes Die set, I cut one of each design – one from Vellum card stock and the other from So Saffron vellum from the Perennial Essence Vellum Card Stock. I used Liquid Glue across the bottom of each die cut to adhere them to the card front.
I carefully added Glue Dots under various flowers and cattails to adhere the die cut more fully to the card front.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered a length of Pretty Peacock 1/2″ Scalloped Linen Ribbon and one of 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon near the bottom of the panel.
On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the Friend Like You sentiment in Pretty Peacock, then I punched both ends of the strip with the new Delightful Tag Topper Punch.
I popped the sentiment on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, added a Noble Peacock Rhinestone in Pretty Peacock and the card front was done.
On the inside, I stamped the grasses and cattail image from Friend Like You in Soft Sea Foam on a Whisper White panel. Over top I added a second sentiment in Pretty Peacock. I stamped a couple of dragonflies in stamped-off-once Pretty Peacock and added another Noble Peacock Rhinestone.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a So Saffron mat and into my Soft Sea Foam card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Friend Like You grasses and dragonflies on the front…
…and a little more So Saffron DSP (and a line of dragonflies – I LOVE them!) on the back!
Et Voila! I am really loving this Friend Like You stamp set – the images and sentiments are really quite wonderful – and very versatile! And the matching (and bundled!) Friendly Silhouettes Dies are pretty spectacular! How gorgeous are those die cuts in vellum??! I hope you like!

Stampin’ Trimmer Cutting Blades Update
We have reevaluated our strategy for launching Stampin’ Trimmer Cutting Blades (item 126995) after the number of difficulties demonstrators and customers experienced during the South Pacific and European launches.
First, we have decided to reduce the limit on blades from six to three. We anticipate blades to sell out quickly, but hope more demonstrators and customers will be able to order with the smaller limit.
Second, we still plan to notify demonstrators through an update with the exact date and time the blades will become orderable (which will NOT be this week, as previously indicated). For this first launch in North America, we will send an email to anyone who requested a notification about when the blades would become available. For future launches, updates will be announced to Demonstrators ahead of time.
Third, we have made several internal system adjustments to avoid the issues we faced with previous launches in the South Pacific and Europe and are hopeful those errors will not be repeated.
Finally, there are different error messages you will see if trying to add the blades to an order before they become available and after they have sold out.
- On the day of the launch, if you try to order the Stampin’ Trimmer Cutting Blades before they are available, you will see this error message: “You may not order 1 of item 126995 because of promotion restrictions.”
- When the blades have sold out, the message will return to the current message until the next launch: “This item has been discontinued and cannot be added to your order (126995).”
We also want to remind you we are still working on a new trimmer option and hope to have more information to share in the coming months.
A quick note from me: Stampin’ Up! did not provide a date and time when the blades will be available to order. So keep an eye on my blog and newsletter and I’ll post those details as soon as we have them! But I wanted to post this update since many of you have been asking about the Trimmer Blades.

Finn really REALLY loves me.
Does he, though?? 😉

He probably really does. Dogs don’t like salad….do they?? Unless he thinks it is something else. 🙂 Really creative card. Love the way you used the vellums. And that envelope! Oh, my! You’ve outdone yourself, kid. Oh, and, you are pretty funny, but leave the standup to someone else. You’re better at card-making. Exciting to think that your big cruise is coming soon!
I knew it. Thank goodness America’s Got Talent turned me down! 🙂 I know – it’s getting so close!! I’m so excited! And yes. He does like salad (dressing) – even salsa. And spicy fruity yoghurt. He’s kinda goofy! Thanks, Julie! 🙂
Sweet card! Love the soft colors, perfectly layered too! As for Finn…well, I’m sure that he loves you just as much as he loves the food… 😉
Oh – I’m totally sure! But…does he have to pick just ONE thing to love??? He’s got as heart big enough for me and the Dad and the kitty and Mr. Reindeer and salad… Thanks, Amy! 🙂
Wow! Awesome card! I love it!
Thank you, Gerri! 🙂
I always look forward to seeing your creation and Finn each day…today is no exception 🙂 Have a great week.
Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂
I love this card. Everytime I see that bundle, I love it more. I think it’ll have to go on my next order! With some vellum!
Yes, Finn loves you. I can see where he’d be interested in that salad too!
The countdown is on…
Yes – he does. And he loves salad. And yoghurt. And the kitty! And his Dad! He’s a lover!! Thanks so much, Susan – I think this one is as Must Have! 🙂
