Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves Blessed by Paisleys & Posies

Happy Saturday, y’all!  I had a bit of an awakening on Friday.  I realized I’m pretty behind on making Thanksgiving cards.  I’ve got buckets and tons of Christmas Cards, and a pretty hefty pile of Halloween Cards, but….I’m short Thanksgiving Cards.  So…hang on to your hats – I’m in make-up mode!

One little Finn update.  Went to the vet today to get weighed (him – not me!!) so we could get the right sized Heartworm medicine.  You may remember – back when Finn first came to live with us….

…he was already a big boy at 34 pounds.  Well, just a month later at almost 6 months old (and a week away from his tutoring 🙁 )…he’s 42 pounds!  He’s a weed!

And I need to show you a cute picture….

That’s him plopped between me and the cabinet while I was unloading silver from the dishwasher.  Not earth shattering – it just made me chuckle! 🙂

My card for today is for Thanksgiving.

About time, Mary!

I used the Paisleys & Posies stamp set – added some Copper-embossed Vintage Leaves – and backed it all up with Petals & Paisleys DSP.  Take a look-see:

This one worked along with three challenges.  The first, from Freshly Made Sketches, inspired the card layout.

I also used a challenge for my color palette.  Take a look at the Color Throwdown challenge:

Finally, the stamp set I used is Paisleys & Posies, which was the featured stamp set in the What Will You Stamp challenge.

To start the card, I SNAILd a piece of Cajun Craze paper from the Petals & Paisleys DSP to an Old Olive card stock mat.  Then I cut a smaller piece of Very Vanilla card stock for the bottom half of my card front.  I stamped the sentiment from the Paisleys & Posies stamp set in Pumpkin Pie in the bottom corner, then I SNAILd it to the card front.

I wrapped a piece of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon around the panel and secured it in the back with scotch tape.  Over that, I wound some Old Olive Baker’s Twine and Copper Metallic Thread three times around the panel.

I made the card stock into my own Designer paper using the small images in the Paisleys & Posies set.  For each image, I stamped them off once before stamping the card.  The colors are Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and Old Olive.

For my leaves, I stamped four of the Vintage Leaves images in Versamark on Very Vanilla, sprinkled them all with Copper Stampin’ Embossing Powder and heated them up.  Then I cut them all out with their matching dies in the Leaflets Framelits.  I rolled each of them slightly with my stylus.

I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to secure my leaves to the card front.  Finally, I tied a little bow from a length of Old Olive Baker’s Twine and four strands of Copper Metallic Thread.  I adhered it with some Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I kept it simple and heat embossed another Vintage Leaves image in Copper on a Very Vanilla panel.

I matted the panel on Old Olive and SNAILd it into my Pumpkin Pie card base.  Then I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Copper-embossed Vintage Leaf on the front…

…and a bit more of the Petals & Paisleys DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  When you need a Thanksgiving card, it’s tough to go wrong with some Paisleys & Posies images and the fall-colored Petals & Paisleys DSP!  And Vintage Leaves are always a winner! Hope you like! 🙂
