Made it to the weekend!! Whoo-hoo! I’m sitting here on Friday night typing this post with the entire, beautiful, lovely, empty weekend stretching ahead of me. It’s even a Three-Day Weekend. Thank you, Mr. King! On top of all that, we got off work ridiculously early today. Like…I drove all the way back to the hotel….in DAYlight! 😉 So, I’m simply luxuriating in the knowledge that for the next three days… I don’t have to put make-up on, don’t have to get up at any particular time, don’t have to fight my work computer (whole other frustrating story that I won’t bore you with). Nothing like that at all. For 72 hours! Holy smokes!!
So tomorrow, after I get up whenever I want to! – I’ll be doing my “nesting”. I made the decision the other day to not change hotels, so now I can set up my crafting area, put away all my clothes and stuff, and settle down. And I can make cards again! Whoo-hoo!
But, I’ve still got one more card to share that I made before I left Atlanta. It uses the crazy cute stamp set in Sale-A-Bration called Honeycomb Happiness. This little chick-dude (dude-ette?) is totally adorable. And this card will go together for you lickety-split. Take a look-see:
Cute, huh? Yes, the sentiment is the tiniest bit crookedy, but I think it’s okay anyway!
I started by stamping the too-cute chick in Crushed Curry. Then I used my Blender Pen and the Crushed Curry ink pad lid to color him in – I deliberately kept the coloring rough to give him some texture and some chick-“fuzz”! I used my Tangerine Tango Stampin’ Write Marker to color his little beak and legs.
The Honeycomb Happiness sentiment is stamped in Tangerine Tango. I should have used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig and then it would have been perfectly straight. Oh well, perfectly perfect isn’t always the goal, is it??
A few of the Crushed Curry enamel dots from the It’s My Party Enamel Dots pack (in the Occasions catalog) finished it off. Then I SNAILd the panel to a Crushed Curry card stock mat.
The inside of the card is super simple. Just a Whisper White panel matted on Crushed Curry. And the Crushed Curry chick…
…just peeking in the bottom corner!
I SNAILd it into my Whisper White card base, popped the front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!
For the envelope, I repeated the peeking-in-chick in Crushed Curry on the front of a Whisper White Medium Envelope…
…and used a piece of Regals Background DSP in Crushed Curry to line the envelope, cutting it with my Envelope Liner Framelit.
Et Voila! A super simple single stamp set card for Saturday! I hope you like it as much as I do – the expression on this little chick’s face just makes me chuckle every time I see him!
