Stampin’ Up! Honeycomb Happiness Chick on a Super Simple Saturday!

Made it to the weekend!!  Whoo-hoo!  I’m sitting here on Friday night typing this post with the entire, beautiful, lovely, empty weekend stretching ahead of me.  It’s even a Three-Day Weekend.  Thank you, Mr. King!  On top of all that, we got off work ridiculously early today.  Like…I drove all the way back to the hotel….in DAYlight! 😉  So, I’m simply luxuriating in the knowledge that for the next three days… I don’t have to put make-up on, don’t have to get up at any particular time, don’t have to fight my work computer (whole other frustrating story that I won’t bore you with).  Nothing like that at all.  For 72 hours!  Holy smokes!!

So tomorrow, after I get up whenever I want to! – I’ll be doing my “nesting”.  I made the decision the other day to not change hotels, so now I can set up my crafting area, put away all my clothes and stuff, and settle down.  And I can make cards again!  Whoo-hoo!

But, I’ve still got one more card to share that I made before I left Atlanta.  It uses the crazy cute stamp set in Sale-A-Bration called Honeycomb Happiness.  This little chick-dude (dude-ette?) is totally adorable.  And this card will go together for you lickety-split.  Take a look-see:

Honeycomb Happiness Chick 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Cute, huh?  Yes, the sentiment is the tiniest bit crookedy, but I think it’s okay anyway!

I started by stamping the too-cute chick in Crushed Curry.  Then I used my Blender Pen and the Crushed Curry ink pad lid to color him in – I deliberately kept the coloring rough to give him some texture and some chick-“fuzz”!  I used my Tangerine Tango Stampin’ Write Marker to color his little beak and legs.

Honeycomb Happiness Chick 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers

The Honeycomb Happiness sentiment is stamped in Tangerine Tango.  I should have used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig and then it would have been perfectly straight.  Oh well, perfectly perfect isn’t always the goal, is it??

A few of the Crushed Curry enamel dots from the It’s My Party Enamel Dots pack (in the Occasions catalog) finished it off.  Then I SNAILd the panel to a Crushed Curry card stock mat.

Honeycomb Happiness Chick 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers

The inside of the card is super simple.  Just a Whisper White panel matted on Crushed Curry.  And the Crushed Curry chick…

Honeycomb Happiness Chick 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

…just peeking in the bottom corner!

I SNAILd it into my Whisper White card base, popped the front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

For the envelope, I repeated the peeking-in-chick in Crushed Curry on the front of a Whisper White Medium Envelope…

Honeycomb Happiness Chick 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers

…and used a piece of Regals Background DSP in Crushed Curry to line the envelope, cutting it with my Envelope Liner Framelit.

Honeycomb Happiness Chick 6 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Et Voila!  A super simple single stamp set card for Saturday!  I hope you like it as much as I do – the expression on this little chick’s face just makes me chuckle every time I see him!

Remember – the only way to get this stamp set for yourself is by getting it free!  From the Sale-A-Bration catalog, of course.  Just order $50 in product (less shipping and tax) and you could pick this as your free gift!

And – right now, until the end of the month, that will also get you four peppermint points in my Rewards Program!  Kind of a double whammy of good!

Well, I’m off to get ready for bed and to begin my long weekend!  I’ll be back tomorrow with another card to share and…..some blog candy??  You’ll have to wait and see.  It could be the little guy on the card! 😉

Darling, Mary! We can’t go wrong with that cute little chick. Me thinks chick could become a birdie in blue or brown ink… So sweet peeking out on the lower right of the inside of the card! Enjoy your three day weekend, and take good care.

  3. Mom

Gotta love MLK!!! Enjoy your move-free relaxing, I hope, week end. This card us a cutie. I can see it on a wee small card to tuck into an Easter basket too.

  4. Yep – he’d be really cute on an Easter tag! Thanks, Mom, 🙂
