Hello Weekend! Whoo-hoo! Hope that you have some fun something to do! I’m getting a haircut today – which is always good. I love it when it’s just cut and easy to make look like something. Something good, I mean! 🙂
Just a quick news flash. Next weekend, I’ll be heading down to Tampa (hopefully with the hubby in tow!) to attend the Stampin’ Up! Onstage Live event. Amy Koenders and Jari Francis are both going as well, so I think we’re going to have a great time! One benny of going is we get a sneak peek at the new 2016 (seriously!? Already?!?!) Occasions Catalog. And I’ll bring home some goodies and be able to share some of that with you! So be watching for that in the next few weeks, okay?
Today’s card is so darned easy that I called it a Super Simple Single Stamp Saturday card. No Big Shot needed. No Embossing folders. No Framelits. Just a stamp set – the beautiful For All Things (in the Annual Catalog) and some paper and ink. Take a look-see:
See what I mean? Doesn’t get much easier than that!
It started with an Envelope from a pack of Whisper White Note Cards and Envelopes. Somehow in the course of making cards, I’ve used more cards than Envelopes. Probably due to making mistakes – and wasting notecards! So – I cut a card base using Whisper White card stock – and I cut it the same size as the Notecards. But – I made it be a vertically opening card. Cause I like ’em!
For the card front, I SNAILd a piece of Whisper White card stock to a mat of Cajun Craze. For the image, I stamped the background stamp in Crushed Curry. I stamped it twice – turning it 180 degrees for the second image to add a little interest. Each time, I first stamped the image off on scrap paper before stamping it on the card.
The fronds and the sentiment are stamped in Mossy Meadow. The fronds are stamped off once on scrap paper – the sentiment stamped directly onto the card. You can see that I added the tiniest of the Pearl Basic Jewels to the middle of the stamped bow!
Just cuz I could, and cuz I like it – I added some Stampin’ Write Marker “stitches” in Mossy Meadow around the edges of the card front. And that was it! I popped the card front onto my Whisper White Notecard base, and moved to the inside of the card. Which I just realized I didn’t photograph – again! What the heck?!? Have I lost my brain? I don’t know what’s going on. Fortunately – I’m already back home and I just went to my photo-booth and took a picture of the inside. Sorry – no washcloth background today! 😉
For the liner, I matted another piece of Whisper White card stock on Cajun Craze. First, though, I did another stamped-off-once-on-scrap-paper Crushed Curry background down in the corner, and added a similarly stamped off frond in Mossy Meadow.
For the matching Envelope, I stamped the fronds again – this time I stamped them twice. The first time was stamped off, and then the second image was added without re-inking.
Et Voila! So seriously superbly simple. So versatile. That sentiment could be….anything! “Thanks” “Happy Birthday” “Thinking of You” You name it. And it goes together so fast – it would be really quick to make a whole group of them in one sitting.
