Stampin’ UP! Joseph’s Coat Etched Autumn Pumpkins Card

Happy Friyay!!  Hope you’ve had a great week!  After my doctor’s appointment yesterday we went up to visit our friends, have a little lunch and see their new house.  It was a nice couple hours!  And they’re coming down this way tomorrow – with the kids – to talk and have pizza!!  🙂

Today’s card uses a very cool coloring technique called Joesph’s Coat (which is an embossed-resist technique)- and it’s perfect with the gorgeous Etched Autumn stamp set.  To bring it on home I pulled out the pretty Beautiful Pumpkins bundle.  Take a look-see:

I pulled some elements from the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge. I went down the right colomn – Embossing/Pumpkin/Layers

I started with the card front – using Small Blending Brushes – I added Crushed Curry, Timid Tiger and Calypso Coral ink to a Very Vanilla panel.

When it was good and dry – I helped it with the low setting on my Heat Tool – I rubbed it with an Embossing Buddy and stamped it with the Etched Autumn background stamp in Versamark ink.

Then I sprinkled it with Clear Basics WOW Embossing Powder and heat set it with the high setting of the Heat Tool.

When it was cool, I scraped my Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad all over the panel – and wiped the excess off with a paper towel.  And – THAT is the Joseph’s Coat technique.  The clear embossing resists the black ink and keeps it from penetrating – letting the pretty Fall colors show thru!

I adhered the panel to a Timid Tiger panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then to a Pecan Pie mat with Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered the whole thing to my Basic Black card base.

On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped the large Beautiful Pumpkins detailed pumpkin twice – once in Timid Tiger and once in Calypso Coral.  I stamped the fill image for both of them in Peach Pie ink.  Then I cut them both out with the coordinating die.

I cut out two large Beautiful Pumpkins stems from Pecan Pie cardstock and some leaves from Mossy Meadow.  I adhered the stems to the die cut pumpkins with Liquid Glue.

I added the lighter pumpkin to the card front with Liquid Glue – and added a small leaf with Liquid Glue and the large one with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

Using Stampin’ Seal+ I adhered a loop-d-loop of Mossy Meadow & Gold 1/4″ Ribbon.

Then I adhered the second pumpkin with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock I stamped the Beautiful Pumpkins sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink – then I popped it on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I adhered the die cut leaves – using Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals – letting a couple of leaves and tendrils overlap the sentiment.

I added five gold Traditional Sparkling Sequins and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped the Beautiful Pumpkins leaf swag in Mossy Meadow ink on a Very Vanilla panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel on the inside of the Basic Black card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Beautiful Pumpkins leaf swag on the front…

Et Voila!  Oh my – I love love love the Etched Autumn stamp – and it is PERFECT for the Joseph’s Coat!!  FAIR WARNING – you WILL have INKY INKY fingers so….be prepared!  The Beautiful Pumpkins bundle is sweet and simple – with its pretty two-step pumpkins and nice sentiments.  It works wonderfully with the Etched Autumn set, don’t you think?!
