Stampin’ Up! Feathered Fun & Blooming Phrases Sneak Peek Thanks with Video

Good morning, y’all!  Happy Sunday – and…Happy Birthday to my brother, Joe! 😎  I hope he has a good day – he was checking out a kitty yesterday – a 2 year old tuxedo kitty – and I hope that he’s got a new furry friend at home!  He wrote that he’s “checking him out” but that he “took the carrier”.  When you take the carrier – or a leash when “checking out a puppy” – that’s a SURE sign that…it would have to go REALLY badly to NOT bring said four-leggedy home!! 🙂

My card today features a TWO-leggedy…a pretty parrot from the new Feathered Fun stamp set – a Reversible set coming as an Online Exclusive on 6 May!  And I pulled out the new Blooming Phrases again as well as some Floral Impressions DSP AND a cool die cut from the Beautiful Motifs die set.  All of these are online exclusives coming on 6 May, too! Take a look-see:

Stampin' Up! Feathered Fun & Blooming Phrases Sneak Peek Thanks with Video - Stamps-N-Lingers

I started by matting a piece of new Floral Impressions DSP on a Pecan Pie mat for the card front.  Up in the corner, I adhered a 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ piece of a second design from the pack with Liquid Glue.

On a 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Blooming Phrases sentiment around the edges in Old Olive ink.  Then I adhered that to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using the new (avail on 6 May) Beautiful Motifs die, I cut out a Granny Apple Green fern.  I snipped it into two pieces and then adhered them with Liquid Glue.

The bow is two lengths of Azure Afternoon twine from the Pack Your Bags Twine Three-Pack (a new online exclusive available right now!) that I adhered with some Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped one of the parrots from Feathered Fun in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Using the flat side of the OTHER parrot image in the set – I inked the body of the image with Azure Afternoon ink.

I used a Sponge Dauber to tap tap tap the color and lightly blurred the edge at the neck. Then I used another Dauber to dab Lemon Lime Twist ink up into the head.

Finally – I stamped it on the Tuxedo Black bird.  With another dauber – I added a little Lemon Lolly to the head – and then colored the beak with the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker.

I used Paper Snips to cut him out and then adhered him over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added some light green Shades of Green Hexagons (new in the 2025-2026 Annual Catalog available on 6 May) and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the detailed side of the little heart from the Feathered Fun set three times in Lemon Lime Twist ink in the corner of a Basic White panel.  Flipping the stamp over, I stamped the solid fill image in Lemon Lolly ink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of my Granny Apple Green card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Feathered Fun hearts on the front…

…and more of the Floral Impressions DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Feathered Fun (reversible) stamp set is really cute – with several pretty birds to choose from and color to your heart’s content!  Add some designer paper like the Floral Impressions DSP and maybe some foliage – I LOVE the fern in the Beautiful Motifs die set – and you’ve got a card!  And do NOT miss getting the Blooming Phrases stamp set, y’all – it is WUNNERMUS!

Finn Fan Fix

During one of the last storms – we had a tree (Wayne says it’s a branch – I feel certain it’s at least PART of the trunk of a tree!) fall into the pond.  It stayed out far enough that we’d have had to do some wading to get it and…didn’t seem worth the effort!

A decision that makes a FEW amphibians QUITE happy!

At about 1:15 yesterday, I glanced out and saw that there was the start of a party!

Apparently – word got out that this was THE place to be for sunning!  An hour later…

We’re gonna need a bigger LOG!

Such a cute card! Love the bird, yay for a reversible stamp set!! Looks like a turtle party for sure on the log, I’m sure that they’re glad that you left it in the water! 🙂

Great card! We also had parakeets when we were kids. Then we became a cat family! I later in life had a dog & many cats! It sure looks like you might need a bigger log……did you know you had that many turtles in the pond?? Thanks for all the card ideas……enjoy your videos.

    • stampsnlingers

I did not! We see them all the time swimming and paddling around – but only one or two at a time. Never occured to me that our little city was so big! I love it! Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂

  3. JudiH

Love your colorful card! And I guess in keeping with SU naming convention we should caption your photos “Turtley-Awesome”?😉

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – that would be just right as a captionn! Thanks so much, Judi! 🙂

Looks like the Deatherage pond has become Turtle Beach! 🏖️
Happy BDay to Joe! Did he get the kitty? Tuxedos are awesome.

    • stampsnlingers

I think he’s getting him today! Can’t wait for pictures – tuxedos ARE awesome! Thanks, Pat! 🙂
