Stampin’ Up! Terrific Toadstools and Plaid Thank You Card

Good morning and happy Friday! We’re about half way thru OnStage and…it’s been just as awesome as we expected!  Between seeing new goodies (whoo-hoo!) – learning new things (yeah!) – and spending time with our amazing team and folks we only get to see every year or so….it’s been a great time!

My card today is one that’s really in my wheelhouse – it’s got Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing and the wunnermus Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP!  It started with a Basic Beige palette – and then I added some Terrific Toadstools in colors that work with the DSP.  The end result is a cool Thank You Card – that would be a great candidate for sending to a guy in your life!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the Sunday Stamps sketch challenge!

I did a quick video on how to make this cool card, which is posted on Instagram.  If you’d like to give that a watch – click here!

I started by embossing a Basic Beige panel in the new Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder.

Using the second-from-smallest Textured Notes die – I cut out three pieces of Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the three rectangles to the embossed panel.

Then I cut a Basic Beige circle with the next-to-largest ribbed-edge Spotlight on Nature die and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

On a strip of Basic Beige cardstock (tip – about a 1 1/4″ wide strip works great!!) – I stamped three Terrific Toadstool tops – one each in Misty Moonlight, Old Olive and Lost Lagoon inks.  On a narrow strip of Basic Beige – I stamped the stem three times – once in each of the same colors.  Using the Terrific Toadstools Builder Punch, I punched out all the pieces.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the stems to their respective toadstool tops – and then to the Spotlight on Nature die cut circle.

I used the Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Marker to add little dots – in groups of three – around the toadstools.

Using two lengths of Night of Navy Natural Tones Linen Thread, I tied a bow that I then adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Terrific Toadstools sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink.  Then I cut it out with the smallest Textured Notes rectangle die.

Using double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the sentiment over the bow.

I added some Adhesive-backed Textured Dots and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped a second Terrific Toadstools sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink on a Basic White panel.  I stamped the Terrific Toadstool in the corner in Lost Lagoon and added the doodle-dots with the Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Marker.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Basic Beige card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Terrific Toadstool in Misty Moonlight – with the Mossy Meadow doodle-dots – on the front…

…and more of the Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Okay – I love everything about this card (she says modestly!) – the Timeless Plaid – the Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing – the Textured Notes and Spotlight on Nature die cuts.  And the Terrific Toadstools in such fun colors.  I think it’ll bring a smile to whoever gets it!

CARDSTOCK PRICE CHANGES COMING SOON

Stampin’ Up! shared this with us yesterday so I wanted to pass it along!

In light of steadily increasing production costs, we’ve made a few updates to our cardstock offerings.

WHY THE CHANGE?
Over the years, Stampin’ Up! has worked diligently to manage rising costs while balancing high-quality standards and remaining competitive in the market. The costs for raw materials and production have continued to climb, and only a select few mills around the world are qualified to produce our heavyweight, dyed-through cardstock, ensuring it meets our color and quality standards.

WHAT’S CHANGING?

  • 8-1/2″ x 11″ cardstock:
    • All single-color cardstock packages will now contain 24 sheets (including Basic White and Very Vanilla).
    • Assortments will contain 20 sheets.
    • Prices will be $14 for both single-color and assortment packs.
    • Stampin’ Up! has reevaluated their decision to discontinue 8½”x11” Thick Basic White Cardstock. WHOO-HOO!  They’ll ALSO keep the newly announced Basic White 12”x12” Thick Cardstock to support those who focus on 3D projects or simply prefer the larger format.
      • The item will be available in the Online Store, not the 2025-2026 Annual Catalog.
      • The item numbers and sheet quantity per package (24) will remain the same.
      • Beginning 6 May 2025, the price for the 24-sheet pack of Thick Basic White cardstock will be $17.00, which differs from any other cardstock of this size that we offer.

  • 12″ x 12″ cardstock:
    • Our heavyweight, dyed-through cardstock and Basic White Thick Cardstock packages will contain 24 sheets.
    • 12″ x 12″ dyed cardstock will be $22.
    • 12″ x 12″ Basic White Thick Cardstock will be $26
    • We’re also expanding our 12″ x 12″ offerings with Two-Tone cardstock available in single-color packages in all colors.
    • We will no longer offer 12″ x 12″ dyed cardstock in assortments but will continue to provide 12″ x 12″ Two-Tone assortments that coordinate with our Designer Series Paper & Sticker Sheets.
  • Other Product Updates:
    • Pricing and configuration for our 12″ x 12″ Two-Tone cardstocks and White Willow 12″ x 12″ Cardstock remain unchanged.
    • In addition to the changes mentioned above, you will notice a handful of other price increases, which are typical in a new catalog.

So stock up on those cardstock packs now ahead of the price increases!  You can find the card stock in the online store here

Finn Fan Fix

Well – Finn had a nice nap all the way to Raleigh!

He did rouse himself a few times to lovingly lick and kiss Mr. Octopus.
