Stampin’ Up! Textured Woven Layers of Beauty for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

My card today is all about texture – thanks to the new Woven Textures DSP – a new Online Exclusive available next week on the 4th!  Then I added a frame cut with the also-new-on-4-March Textured Notes dies.  Atop it all – I used all the pieces of the Layers of Beauty Bundle (stamp set, dies and decorative masks!) from the Annual Catalog – to create a beautiful floral image for my thank you card.  Take a look-see:

And here’s our sketch challenge!

I also gathered up some elements thanks to this Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week! I went across the center (stencil – die cut – frame).

I did a quick video on how to make this cool card, which is posted on Instagram.  If you’d like to give that a watch – click here!

I started with a piece of the new Woven Textures DSP (coming on 4 March) that I matted on Basic Beige for the card front.  This paper is SO beautiful – it looks like if you ran your hand across it – it would be rough! 🙂

Then, using the second-and-third from largest new Textured Notes dies, I cut out a Basic Beige frame – which I adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To create the floral image – I temporarily secured a linen-look piece of the Woven Textures DSP to my work surface.  I stamped the large Layers of Beauty image onto the DSP in Early Espresso ink.

Using Small Blending Brushes and the Layers of Beauty Masks, I colored the image:

– Mask #1:  I used Petal Pink on the three large flowers and Lemon Lolly for the small flowers and buds.

– Mask #2:  I used Petal Pink again on the three large flowers and Daffodil Delight for the small flowers and buds.

– Mask #3: I used Peach Pie ink on the three large flowers and Early Espresso ink for the centers of the small flowers.

– Mask #4: Granny Apple Green for all the leaves.

– Mask #5: Garden Green for all the leaves.

I picked up the final mask and used the coordinating die from the bundled Layers of Beauty die set to cut it out.

Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the die cut image to the card front over the frame.

Using Garden Green Linen Thread from the Natural Tones Linen Thread pack, I tied a half-double-loop Linen Thread bow.  That’s the same as a full double-loop Linen Thread bow – but – you only wrap around your fingers twice (instead of four times.  So…half!)

– Wrap the Linen Thread around four fingers two times.

– Without cutting the thread, wrap around two fingers two times.

– Pull the loops off and squeeze the loops together.

– Twist the loops one time around to create a “figure 8”.

– Tie a second short length of Thread around the loops in the middle.

– Spread the loops out to create a bow.

I used a little Liquid Glue to adhere the bow to the card front.

On another piece of the linen Woven Textures DSP, I stamped the Layers of Beauty sentiment in Early Espresso ink.  Using the smallest Textured Notes die, I cut out the sentiment.

I used double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment over the bow.

Finally, I added Petal Pink Low Profile Dots and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Layers of Beauty sentiment in Early Espresso on a Basic Beige panel.  In the four corners, I stamped the little leafy vine image from the set in Garden Green ink.  Then I added another of the Low Profile Dots.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Garden Green card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Layers of Beauty leafy vine in Garden Green on the front…

…and more of the Woven Textures DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Okay – so…are you starting to think I am REALLY trying to convince you that you NEED the Woven Textures DSP AND the Textured Notes die set?!  I mean – am I being too obvious?!? Sorry – not sorry!  You DO need these new Online Exclusives as SOON as you can get them!  They’re going to be FAVORITES!  And the Layers of Beauty bundle – with those AMAZING masks – is just stunning.  That floral is perfect and “You Make My Heart Smile” is one of my fave sentiments ever! 🙂
