Stampin’ Up! Lovely Year of Flowers Sneak Peek Birthday Card for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all – welcome to another edition of the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is Birthday!  Be sure to check out everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!

I’m into sneak peeks of new Online Exclusives (available on 4 March 2025) this week and I was excited to play with the pretty Year of Flowers stamp set and bundled dies!  So – I did! And I paired it with a pretty leafy design from the new Lovely Garden DSP.   Take a look-see:

The layout was inspired by the sketch at the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I did a quick video on how to make this pretty card, which is posted on Instagram.  If you’d like to give that a watch – click here!

I started by adhering some pretty paper from the new Lovely Garden DSP on a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock for the card front.

I embossed a panel of Basic White cardstock in the new Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder (new on 4 March as an Online Exclusive) and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using the three foliage dies in the new Year of Flowers die set, I cut out five Basic White leaves – 2 each of the two larger leaves, 2 each of the medium leaves and one of the smallest leaf.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere one leaf in each size to the top right corner of the Corrugated panel and the remaining two leaves in the bottom left corner.

I stamped three of the flower images from the Year of Flowers set (I picked March, April and May – but you can pick your faves!) in Garden Green ink.  Using my Garden Green, Daffodil Delight (March), Fresh Freesia (May) and Melon Mambo (April) Watercolor Pencils, I colored the images.

I cut out the images using the label die in the Year of Flowers die set and adhered them onto the Corrugated panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Tip: center the middle die cut and adhere it first – then add the two outer die cuts.  That’ll help get them evenly spaced.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Year of Flowers sentiment in Garden Green and used the smallest die in the new Textured Notes die set (available on 4 March as an Online Exclusive).

I adhered the sentiment at the bottom of the Corrugated panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finally, I added three Fresh Freesia embellishments from the new Starburst Sequins (coming on 4 March) and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from the Year of Flowers set in Garden Green ink on a Basic White panel.  In the corner, I stamped another of the Year of Flowers flowers in Garden Green (I picked March since I intend to send these for March birthdays!) and colored it with the Watercolor Pencils. I added another of the Starburst Sequins, too.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of my Thick Basic White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got a Year of Flowers flower on the front…

…and more of the Lovely Garden DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is such a fun card – and the Year of Flowers stamp set with a pretty flower for each month of the year – means you can celebrate all year long! And the bundled dies cut out each of the 12 flower images (note – the dies do NOT cut out the “month label” when you use them to cut out the flowers). Add some texture with the new Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder and don’t forget the AMAZEBALLS rectangle dies in the new Textured Notes set!  The Lovely Day DSP is stunning – with big, bold flowers AND small prints suitable for MANY card projects! 🙂
