Stampin’ UP! Seaside Sea Turtle Full of Life Thank You Card

Hello, everyone – happy Monday!  Hope you had a good weekend – we went BACK to the Tractor Supply greenhouse – and…saved a few more plants.  😳  Hopefully the rain will let up and we can plant them all today or tomorrow!  When we get it all done I’ll share some pics!

My card today is a study in underwater fun.  I used a small Sea Turtle along with some Seaside Wishes sand dollars and starfish to make a pretty thank you card.  The Full of Life 6″ x 6″ DSP set the stage with a surprisingly ocean-y look!  Take a look-see:

The layout was from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

And the theme was inspired by the Hand Stamped Sentiments theme challenge.

I did a quick video on how to make this one, which is posted on Instagram.  You can see it on YouTube right here!

I started by inking the Seaside Wishes sentiment in Versamark Ink and stamping near the bottom of a piece of Full of Life 6″ x 6″ DSP.  I sprinkled it with white embossing powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool.  When it was cool, I used Stampin’ Seal+ to adhere the panel to a Crushed Curry mat for the card front.

Then I stamped all over the panel in Balmy Blue ink using the bubbles image from the Sea Turtle set.

On a piece of Basic Beige, I stamped the Seaside Wishes starfish twice in Crushed Curry ink.  Then, using the die in the Seaside Wishes Hybrid Embossing Folder, I cut out both starfish.  At the same time, I cut out a large and small detailed sand dollar.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the two sand dollars to the card front.  Then I used a Stampin’ Dimensional to adhere the starfish over the top.

On a piece of Basic Beige, I stamped the detailed side of the small Sea Turtle image in Shy Shamrock ink.  I cleaned the stamp and turned it over on the block, placing the flat side up.

Then I inked the flat side (this is a “reversible” stamp set!) and stamped the image over the detailed image in stamped-off-once Shy Shamrock ink.

I cut out the image with the larger square die in the Perennial Postage die set.  Around the turtle, I stamped the bubbles image from the Sea Turtle set in Balmy Blue and Shy Shamrock inks. And then I brushed him with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to give him a little “wet” look!

Then I adhered the die cut onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added five Iridescent Faceted Gems and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Seaside Wishes sentiment in Crushed Curry ink on a Basic Beige panel.  Up the side, I stamped three turtles in Shy Shamrock – and added bubbles in Balmy Blue ink.

I adhered the panel to the inside of my Basic Beige card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got a couple of Sea Turtles and some bubbles on the front…

…and more Full of Life 6″ x 6″ DSP (stamped with the Sea Turtle bubbles in Balmy Blue) on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  These are a couple of my favorite things – I just love that Sea Turtle set – there’s a BIG turtle and some starfish, too!  And the Seaside Wishes Bundle – with the Hybrid Embossing Folder – is…stunning!  I hope that you have a pack of Full of Life 6″ x 6″ DSP, too – cuz…it is SO versatile and fun!  And – don’t forget about the Perennial Postage dies – these are some of my favorite die cut shapes – and…I know you’ll love them, too!
